I stopped believing in tomorrow a long time ago. Hope is a luxury I can’t afford, and optimism? Yeah, don’t make me laugh.
But now this sexy football player has crashed into my life. He’s trying to convince me to live again, determined to make me believe in crazy things like love and happy endings.
TACKLED is an emotional, character driven sports romance that surprised me with its depth. While it starts with a familiar setup a brooding heroine and a confident football player it quickly becomes a story about healing, hope, and learning to let someone in again. The female lead’s pain feels real and heavy, and her resistance to optimism makes her relatable rather than frustrating.
What I really enjoyed was how the romance unfolds slowly. The football player isn’t just charming and persistent; he’s patient and genuinely invested in helping her rediscover joy without trying to “fix” her. Their chemistry feels natural, and the emotional moments hit harder because of the walls she’s built.
The writing flows well, balancing tender scenes with lighter moments, and the sports element adds energy without overpowering the romance. Overall, TACKLED is a heartfelt, hopeful read about second chances and believing in love again even when it feels impossible.
Gia didn’t win me over. I tried to like her, but she just seemed unmatched to Tate’s golden retriever personality. I especially did not like the first time they were together-together. It wasn’t special at all. I got angry at her and never really changed my mind.
