I like the idea of Elektra King, a Bond girl who turns out is a villain, but she comes off as flat.

Elektra's interesting, but I think the inclusion of Christmas Jones brings the screenplay (and resulting film) down in quality. Make no mistake: Jones is here so Bond has a warm body in the end.

Taking Jones out and having Bond be alone at the end would be worth a thousand words instead of the usual “explosion goes bang and now Bond gets to bang.”

Overall, the screenplay constantly seems like it wants to talk about Bond’s relationship (or lack thereof) with women, but is pulled back by needing to serve the tropes of the series.

In the end, it says some interesting things that don’t amount past observation.
