This is a tale of two sisters, battling the dark to get to the truth. Are you down for this crazy ride filled with twists and turns? By the time you finish this book your jaw will be on the ground in shock!
I really wanted to like this book, but I couldn’t get past chapter 3. It was very rushed, the spelling/grammar errors, & the unrealistic commentary. The plot was really good, but it was very predictable. I just skipped to the last 3 chapters for closure.
Oh my goodness!!! And I do mean GOODNESS! My bestie recommended this book and I’m so happy! I’m struggling writing this review because I don’t want to give away one detail. All I’m gonna say is this book just blew my mind! The author is new to me but Lawd I’m a fan now! Go read the story! You definitely won’t be disappointed!!!
Ok, I had to update. On the crazy shenanigans alone, I had to give more stars.. they were doozies! Yes, I figured out the story pretty early but the drama was crazy! This world is so hell bent on the “perfect” image & judgments.. smh!
Meh... I figured out the plot super early, very predictable.
3.5 ⭐️ the ending saved the book for me. The last few chapters made up for the dread I felt reading through the beginning and all the spelling/grammar errors.
This book won’t be for everyone, but I enjoyed the heck out of it. It was one wild ride from beginning to end. Sure, some parts were predictable, but it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment.
(4.5 ⭐️) The suspense kept building throughout and the plot was solid. The twists were turned every way, but loose ok! Lol If this was adapted into a film, I would definitely want to watch based off the premise alone. My major issue was the grammatical errors and how some character interactions seemed mediocre and rushed (ex: Logan and Gavin meeting and moving forward).
I just didn't like it. It may be my inexperience with this type of mental breakdown but to me it seemed too much like one of the bad old school Lifetime movies. I can say people's reactions to Logan's situation were legit. Unfortunately people are always ready to see the worst in others and cheer that on. Logan was found as a newborn in the trash. She was adopted by her aunt Veronica and uncle Charles. Logan does pagents but hates them but it pays for her college. All grown up she is a tv show host on a national TV show. A porn video is delivered to her husband Xavier and he is mad. Dun dun dun. He wants her out of the house and vows she will nvr see their daughter Harlem again. The only thing Logan can figure is she must have a twin sister because it is not her in the video. Dun Dun Dun. Of course she has a twin her name is Lola. Lola hates Logan because she was adopted and has been privileged to lead this fantastic life. On the other had Lola has had a bad life and drives a Hoople, and is a prostitute. Lola plots to destroy Logans life first by sending the porn video featuring Logan and a number of men to her husband, her husband's job, then it is leaked to major news outlets and she looses her job. This is terrible because Logan was trying to bring national coverage to the dissapearance of a little black girl by the name of Rue Massey. It reminds Logan of the dissapearance of her friend when she was younger. They found her friend dead and raped. Logan gets arrested for some mess Lola framed her for. Gets hypnotized. They find that Logan has split personality disorder Lola is one of her others. Remembers that her uncle was molesting her when she was young and killed her friend so he must have Rue Massey as it occurred in the same area. They follow him and he is keeping Rue Massey in the same warehouse that he kept Logans friend in. There you go.

Whew chile I did not know what I was getting when I read this. The book has so many clutching pearl moments I can’t even keep up. That surprised at the end shocked me and I’m pretty good with picking up clues in a book. Logan story was a hot entertaining mess and I’m all they way here for it.
I went into this book blind. I’ve seen others rave about it so I decided to give it a chance. It was not what I was expecting at all. There were quite a few twists and turns! Honestly though, the writing style was very problematic to me. It felt real juvenile and shallow. I felt like the characters didn’t have a lot of depth and weren’t developed enough. The storyline was an excellent one, don’t get me wrong, but the execution was just not good. There were a few grammatical errors, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. I easily read through them without issue. I think this author had an amazing vision, and with some tweaking to her writing these kind of stories can really take her off. These are the storylines we need in black writing. The ending did wrap everything up but it felt rushed. I have a few more books of hers on my tbr list that I will definitely be checking out.
This was different and I love stories like this. I won't say I loved the way it was written but the author did an okay job. Actually for me the best parts of the story was the last 20-30 pages or so. The story was super repetitive, and to be honest I figured out what was going on as soon as the twin was introduced in the story. So the ending wasn't a surprise to me, but I love how the author explained the back story on how everything came to be. I love how everything was connected. So I will say kudos to this author for stepping out.
P.s. there were a lot of errors so please get an editor. It was a little distracting.
Wow! This book what! So freaking good! Me and one of my besties ate this quick read up in a day!!! From the beginning I was hooked! The story just kept getting crazier and crazier! And the twist at the end! MIND BLOWN! Definitely will be reading more of her books!
The Coldest Secret Ever is a wild ride with several twists, and an ending I didn't expect. You have an entertaining, unique story, with a good plot that was executed well. It has some trigger warning issues of sex abuse, cussing, ratchetenss, and horrible people you will love to hate. The husband pissed me off, I wanted to strangle him. Some of the others too. Where's the support people!
The characterization of the 2 main characters was thorough and realistic. The one sister embodies what happens when you don't give a f***. Very sad what brings her to it. Book held my interest the entire time. It is a perfect length. Some editing issues, like wrong words used, but nothing major. Overall a great read for some drama. Ending was a bit too quickly resolved, but I loved it book as a whole.
I swear this book had me feeling some type of way! Like people were really so quick to turn their backs on her shows me they weren't really there for her in the first place. I under her husband's position and it did like shady however, if he knew her like he said he would have helped her figure out what was going on! Her best friend seemed quickly to not stick by her! The therapist was the wildest and she should have went to jail as well! How are you supposed to help a client of you ate using them to get their husband smh. Like I said the ending got me. I kinda figured it out but not to the same extent!
I knew it and I don’t know how the other readers say they didn’t expect it, a few things mentioned throughout the book made me almost 100% sure that it was what it was. It was still very interesting and just goes to show how judgmental the world can be with or without facts.
This book here has to be one of the best books I have ever read. Omg. I was a little skeptical about it at first but honey you delivert. lol I just knew she had an evil twin somewhere but i started piecing it together after a while. I loved it. It was awesome. Keep up the great work🫶🏾
The plot was pretty predictable. I'd like to note there were plenty of misspellings, however overall the book was okay. Not sure I would recommend but overall it was an easy read to pass time at work.
I kind of caught on to the plot twist a little early but it still didn’t take away from the story. I ate this book up! It was entertaining and easy to follow. I finished it in a day.
This book follows Logan and Lola on a journey of destruction. This book could be quite heavy to some because it involves child sexual abuse trauma and abandonment issues. Logan has been in front of the media since she was a little girl while Lola hung in the background. She didn’t receive the type of childhood that Logan experienced and she feels the need to get revenge on everyone that should had been there for her starting with Logan. Logan world begins to fall apart by the hands of her evil twin that she’s never quite met. Huge plot twist towards the end, definitely The Coldest Secret Ever. I did enjoy the story but I wasn’t blown away but it is a decent read.
Ok so this book took me back to my 20’s. It reminded me of when I read a lot of Zane novels so far as the flow of the writing. This is a story of Logan who was raised by her aunt and uncle after being saved from the trash bin that her drug addicted mother left her in. Now an adult, she has a seemingly perfect life. Successful career, rich husband what else could she need? Her life is up rooted when a sex tape is released of her by the twin sister she didn’t know she had and her life goes down hill from there. This was a ride but the plot twist I kind of had figured out but wasn’t 100% sure. This was an ok read minus the many grammatical/typos throughout the book. If you’re looking for a quick twisty thriller-ish book to sink your teeth in, this will do the trick!
Absolutely mind blowing 🤯 That is my review! I don’t know how to write my review for this one. It caught me off guard. The description of the book does no justice at all. It is a quick read but packed with so much! I love the different twists and turns. For a short book of 189 pages, you will be entertained.
The crazy shenanigans that went down in this book need to be brought to the big screen. This could be a lifetime movie! There were moments I was so pissed off but I was determined to see how this played out. And it ended great!
It was a wild ride from the beginning to the end! Definitely recommend!
Generally, I stray away from "thrillers"; however, this was an awesome read. The only problem I had were the grammatical errors. The pace was perfect, and the unfolding of the storylines were spot on. I recommend this if you're interested in psychology storytelling. Content can be heavy if you have triggers.
I honestly was not expecting this to end the way it did. The author did a good job in highlighting disassociating behaviors and split personality. I loved that it was broken down how each personality works and why as well as their reason behind the behaviors.
