I’m stranded in a snowed-in castle with a big, bad prince…
The plan was to visit my grandmother at the Arctic palace in the Kingdom of Nord. I was supposed to get the information I needed for work, give Grandma a big hug, then get out.
Things...aren’t going according to plan.
For one, the castle is being battered by the biggest storm it’s seen in centuries. I’m stuck, and Grandma isn’t even here. In her place is a prince with honey-colored eyes and a body that was made for war.
He’s big and burly and...oof, my poor panties. They don’t stand a chance when Prince Wolfe looks at me like he wants to eat me.
I’m pretending I don’t like the fire in the prince’s eyes, which, to be honest, is also not going great. He can see right through my fake hostility.
How am I supposed to work when he’s walking around like some wild, Nordic god with a chip on his shoulder and a very big—
Never mind.
Listen, it’s temporary. As soon as this storm lets up, I’ll be out of here. All I have to do is keep it professional for a few short days.
Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.
No, wait. That's not true.
Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.
Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.
Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—
I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.
How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.
She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).
Got to be based on Little Red Riding Hood, given the Prince's name (Wolfe), and Rowan's red coat and red hair.
Architect is traveling to the northern most part of the Nord kingdom to review the castle/site she's been contracted to rehab. Coincidentally her gran works at the castle. But gran doesn't pick her up at the train station and there's a blizzard starting. This chick then leaves the train station, gets locked out and then decides to walk the few miles to the castle in the blizzard. She collapses on the side of the road and the prince finds her and hypothermia is their meet cute.
Don't read this in Jan or February in the North; it will just make you colder.
I don’t feel that this rating justifies what is a good story but it isn’t as good as Broken Prince and that is the benchmark for all my ratings off this series. So maybe a 3.75.
There are still a lot of elements of these stories that really grates me, especially the lack of communication between the main characters. 🤦🏻♀️ Looks like I’ve found another trope I don’t like. 😩 The you’ve got me pregnant but I need to do this on my own trope! I suppose at least she told him outright that she was pregnant instead of hiding it! I’m looking at you Cruel Prince 🙄. Most of these misunderstandings would never have happened if they’d just communicated. 😩
But because I’m a glutton for punishment I will finish the series 🙈

This book is beautiful. And I don’t mean it’s a beautiful romance read (which it is). I mean, I fell in love with the landscape of the book, its setting. Lilian Monroe’s depiction of Nord and the Summer Palace, is mesmerizing. Maybe it’s the good ole Canadian girl in me, but every word she used to describe this fictional place hit home. I can see it, feel it, I needed to curl up under a warm blanket as I read about its cold beauty.
The landscape reeled me in, while the budding relationship between Wolfe and Rowen kept me going, page after delicious page. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed reading about two beautifully damaged souls who come together more than Rowen and Wolfe. They are as different as night and day but absolutely perfect for each other. I loved Rowen’s spunkiness and the fact that she did not bow down to the prince. While Wolfe, Wolfe was delicious. Sexy, powerful, royal but still just a man. A hungry, lonely man who is unable to resist the beauty before him.
Watching Rowan and Wolfe’s love story unfold made Lone Prince one of my Top 10 Romance Reads of 2020. I absolutely loved it and give it the @judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval. TBR and Enjoy!
This was really good. The Lone Prince was sexy and dark and gloomy and all it took was the female version of a popsicle to thaw his icy heart. Rowan made him love and smile and laugh and together they found love. I loved their chemistry and their back and forth banter was extremely cute. There is nothing like being pursued by a sexy wolf and that is exactly what the Prince did. Once he realized that he wanted Rowan he stopped at nothing until he got her. Their sexy scene in the cottage was everything!!! There were moments where I felt this story became redundant and it could have ended sooner. That along with the non communication between Rowan and Wolfe felt like it contributed to the redundancy therefore rendering 3 stars. Nevertheless I really enjoyed this book.
This is book seven in the Royally Unexpected series. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but most are tied in together, so you do tend to come across characters from previous books. This one a little more separated since the only connection is that Rowan is from Farcliff which is where most of the books in the series are set. You can enjoy this book even if you haven’t read the other books. I do recommend the series though. I loved this story so much! Wolfe and Rowan are both closed off emotionally. Wolfe is still dealing with the grief and guilt over his fiancée’s death and Rowan has some emotional scars that stem from not having a father growing up and watching her mom struggle to make ends meet. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve. The book is entertaining, well written and steamy. I always look forward to getting a new book in this series and the next book is going to be Wolfe's older sister, Queen Penelope's story.
Rowan has travelled from Farcliff to Nord to finalize the architectural plans for the palace renovations. She's in Nord to visit with her grandma and finish the plans only when her train gets there her grandma isn't there to get her. Rowan isn't prepared for the extreme cold but has no choice but to walk the two miles to the castle. Wolfe, the prince, saves her from freezing to death. He's rather rude and arrogant and this sets them up for the constant clashing and arguing with each other. Their attraction for each other becomes too much to resist plus Rowan is one of the few people that understands what it feels like to lose someone close. As Wolfe starts to open his heart again Rowan seems to be shoring up her walls and pushing him away. Can these two broken people help each other to heal? Is a relationship between them possible?
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
This book brings us Rowan and Prince Wolfe. Rowan is coming to visit her Grandma in Nord, however, he Grandma has an accident, and is not there to pick Rowan up. With nothing around, Rowan decides to walk to the castle even though the temperatures are brutal. She makes it close to the castle, but finally succumbs to the weather and is almost frozen to death until the Prince arrives and takes her in. Prince Wolfe is at the castle to avoid the anniversary of the death of his fiance which he has never really gotten over. However, once Rowan is awake, things begin to happen to Wolfe and his heart is ready to open up and start beating again thanks to Rowan. Rowan is unlike Wolfe's fiance and he finds her absolutely fascinating. As much as they both try to stay away from each other, their chemistry takes over. Rowan is such a strong character, and she realizes that perhaps her is too strong and showing that she needs someone doesn't make her weak. This is my favorite of the series. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
I'm a big fan of Lilian Monroe's Farcliffe series and although a spin-off, this book sits right alongside the original series in its addictiveness! Based on Little Red Riding Hood, it's very clever in its telling. I love the independent Rowan, who wants to make her mark on the world and not be beholden to anyone. The story set when she visits her Grandmother in the cold Nord. Then you have the hero of the story, the dark, brooding, heartbroken Wolfe, whose trying to escape his past. Plus he is rather tasty and not to be sniffed at!
As always with her retelling's and the addition of some smoking hot scenes between our hero and heroine, Lilian Monroe manages to somehow twist the original tale into a page turner. I found myself routing for Rowan and Wolfe, both having had pretty traumatic upbringings and suffered the loss of people close to them. This is a story of finding and opening yourself up to love. I was hooked from the start until the end. Now I'm on countdown for The Ice Queen
Nord may be a cold, fridgid tundra outside, but inside the summer castle things are heating up. Wolfe has been cold and distant for the last 4 years following the death of his fiancé Abby. Rowan has thrown herself into her architectural firm in the wake of her mother’s death. Her long time boyfriend gives her the ultimatum me or the job, she’s a strong independent woman so she picks the job. She lands her dream job of renovating the summer palace in nord. Prince Wolfe and Rowan are just what the other needs to restart their frozen hearts. One steamy night leads to a big surprise. It takes Rowan 8 months away and the early birth of their child for her to realize she needs Wolfe in her life. This book was everything I was hoping for and more. The royally unexpected series is my absolute favorite and I’m so excited things will continue with Nord.

What an original story fueled by a breathtaking Prince and commoner struggle with their feelings. I truly enjoyed this book because of the depth of the feelings shown by the grieving Prince and Rowan lighting up his life despite his despair.
The story gripped me from the start with its cold and unforgiving Arctic country of Nord. As Rowan’s feelings toward Wolfe transformed, so did the harshness of the landscape.
It was hard not to get caught up in the characters’ pain or pleasure. The writing was that good. There were passionate moments that added greatly to understanding the characters’ choices. Your choice should be to read this book.
I will be very candid...I absolutely LOVE Lilian Monroe’s accidental pregnancy books. They all have been great stories with fantastic characters. Despite being placed in a fairytale setting, it is incredibly easy to be sucked into the story offered to you. I loved Wolfe & Rowan and the story that was built between them. The BIg Bad Wolfe is no more thanks to true love sinking it’s claws into Wolfe’s heart and then stitching it back together. I really enjoyed visiting a new kingdom and the promise about the future stories that Lilian will weave.
Actually really enjoyed this book. The fact rowan want to follow her dream of building up her own company. Ways the highs and lows of being with a royal wanting to keep her child safe from the media and everything that comes from being attached to the royal family. After spending 7 weeks with a royal rowan finds her self trying to go back to her old life while getting ready for a baby and continuing her work on the royal castle.. but the opening to the castle put her in front of the royal thats she fell in love with who happens to be the baby’s father
Good story. Wolfe's struggle his fiancee's death from four years ago continued to cause his mental depression. She put her career above everything and everyone in her life. Both had loved and loss different people in their lives. Once understanding each others situations, they accepted their feelings for each other. Conceiving a child by mistake, she ran back home because she didn't want to change her life for a man like her mother. Wolfe went back into depression but worsted this time because she didn't want him unlike his fiancee who died suddenly. They did get back together.
This steamy storyline has love, loss, chemistry, and unplanned pregnancy. The main characters are defined, determined, must overcome past issues in order to move forward. I liked this engaging book, it is standalone but interconnected to others in the series. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review
Royally Unexpected book 7. A simply delightful read. Two money hearts find one another. Rowan was alone by choice and dedicated to her career. Prince Wolfe was alone after tragedy struck. But one snowy night changed them forever. But it's a crazy emotional roller coaster, as they try to fight their feelings and do what's right.
What a wonderful love story...although sometimes, it can be a tough journey when our own beliefs gets in the way. For our Prince, it is guilt and for our lady, it's never wanting to be a burden. Of course, true love wins through..a must read.
As much as I loved this book I couldn’t give it 5 stars only because I really didn’t like Rowan. She was a little bit infuriating with the choices she made. But I loved Wolfe and I can’t wait to read more about his family because I love this series.
A great well written amazing second chance. This engaging storyline is a standalone in the Royally Unexpected series it's full of love, loss, passion, steam, and second chances. The characters are interesting, emotionally closed off, full of sizzling chemistry, and love. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
Ok SOO let me start by saying this whole series is 🔥🔥🔥... that being said each book gets better and better... Rowan and Wolfe are an incredible couple and their love story is beautiful... if I could give this one 50hundred stars I would.
WoW I can only say this has a lot of past heart wrenching to deal with but love the fun between Prince and Princess. Loved the feel of summer Castle. Could do with holidaying there. Looking forward to diving in with Ice Queen story next.
...makes me happy. She fixed his broken heart as much as he fixed hers. They were broken for different reasons but the same love brought them together and have them their happily ever after. I love their love and their desire for each other.
Loved how they met in the snow and ice, sometimes you just to smack the main characters to be honest and open with each other knowing they won’t because that is what makes the story. Enjoyed it
If you want a modern twist to Little red riding hood this is your book. I love the authors ability to make old tales into contemporary novels. Loved the love story and the witty banter. Definitely can’t wait for Pen story.
Ugh. I DNR'ed this at about 20%. There were so many holes in the story I couldn't handle it. And the h was so snarky and accusatory (about a prince saving her life, no less!) that I just couldn't.
This was such a beautiful story of an independent woman and a prince. She thought she was fine and didn’t need anyone, well she was in for a heck of a surprise!
