I am Rosalie, 20 years old, sold to the most terrifying Alpha by my own father. I have long known that my love for Alpha Ethan is hopeless and foolish. However, I am too naive to think that is the end of the story. Once the baby is born, I will be put to death. *** People thought I was dead, but I survived. "It's you!" He grabbed my hand. "Come back to me, Rosalie." "Sorry," I calmly looked back at him, "but I think you've got the wrong person."
Got caught up int the story and have covid so decided to pay to read it all today. It has no ending, no conclusion thus we are left hanging despite paying more than for most books. What a scam, so disappointed.
I’d rate this higher, but it’s just dragging on unnecessarily. I’ve made it to chapter 202, which I think is current as of July 4, 2022. Rosalie and Ethan just can’t communicate AT ALL. So many of their issues could be solved if they’d just TALK.
It starts off as a typical soft core romance: “oh I’ve been treated so poorly and now I’m being sold to the worst man in the world and omg he’s so handsome and so BAD”. Naturally they fall for each other, but again COMMUNICATION issues are just….terrible. Rosalie starts off very damsel in distress. All “woe is me… but… he’s so handsome”. She sings and does pretty things. And of course the sex scenes. It’s not badly written. It needs proofing and really to be split into multiple books.
She runs away.. ends up finding Ethan’s half brother… thinks she has a nice life in the cottage….Ethan comes back… she has the baby… Ethan leaves…she runs away from Soren….she has a mystical bloodline…. Ethan is banished and becomes a bloodthirsty rogue.. takes Rosalie prisoner again? She’s a queen? There’s magic blood? What? What kind of soap opera is this turning into!
Edit: The story is finished as of July 13, ending on chapter 220. Everything is tied up in a neat little bow, except there’s a random tidbit of Georgia and Talon’s beginning in there that’s not finished. There’s a teaser of a book to come, focusing on the little princess Maeve.
I absolutely fell in love with so many characters in this book. The story is well written and had me laughing, crying, cheering and clenching my jaw throughout the story. This book was honestly so much more than I was expecting it to be!
I read the first few episodes as part of a Kindle achievement. I found this as one of the top-rated paranormal series, so I took a quick read to see what it was about. Each episode was pretty short, and the first one probably took me about 5 minutes to read.
From the amount I read, this was definitely not my cup of tea due to the excessive abhorrent abuse and violence and very very weak FMC. I'm glad I didn't go any further than what was free.
Episode 1 was a quick introduction into the FMC Rosalie's physically abusive family and seemed to be the start of a Cinderella fairy tale retelling, although the father was still around. Her father was a drunk, and her stepmother and stepbrother were evil creeps. They had sold her to a violent shifter alpha for money due to her looks and magical voice and had just informed her of the news.
I did find that there was a big plot hole in that they allowed her to go out somewhere to earn money at a job, but Rosalie never seemed to try to escape and instead tamely went home to surrender all her wages and get beaten horrendously... I didn't even realize the FMC's family was also a pack of shifters until the last few paragraphs. The violence was excessive, but I continued with the next episode out of curiosity to meet the main MC...
Episode 2 basically started with her stepbrother attempted to rape her... and yeah, I was done at this point. Alas, I never got to see exactly what the main alpha did to the FMC, but maybe it's better that I didn't find out if it was so violently abusive so far...
As a last comment, I found it weird that fuck and hell were all censored as f*ck and h*ll - not sure if this was an author's edit or due to the platform. There were also editing errors like "goddess" spelled as "godess". I don't think Kindle Vella is a platform for me...
I have yet to finish it. I’m on like chapter 22 I believe. Out of 181. It’s so expensive. I wanna keep reading but that’s a lot of money. Anyone who’s finished it, would any of y’all be willing to share a link with where you finished reading it at?
I read and paid for 96 of the 181 chapters available on Storyaholic. It kept me interested that far and might have kept my interest longer but I decided not to keep paying for it beyond that point. Kinda rapey but not completely awful.
oooooh boy....where do I begin? I read 181 chapters. It took me forever since its like 70% unnecessary too long story and I was expecting like 200 pages, got like 10 000. I have a feeling it has never been edited. But it was catchy at first, i'll give you that. The not-here-yet ending how ever is just dragging with so many unnecessary plots that its just one big wtf in the end. Its like 5 different stories smashed together that doesnt make anything connect or logical. THE NAME of this book. ?????????? I started reading it because google keeps suggesting it to me and I wanted to know how sexist and idiotic this book is. It was not that bad and I just kept reading it after planned 1 chapter. But the name - sold as the alpha kings breeder or whatever - thats like first 5 pages and next 5000 of them are not about it at all. Like I said, 5 different stories. Its more about YA werewolf fantacies than adult steamy meets fantacy. And wtf is Ethan's characters development??? Just......no.
I'm going to finish it at 96 chapter out of 220, it's just ridiculous. Ethan has been nothing but cruel to Rosalie and he's been using her as a sex toy, dictating her every move and I have no idea why she wants him back at this point when he did nothing to deserve her love. Also she's been frustrating with all her stupid innocence and useless kindness, I just can't stand it anymore
I feel committed since I’m all caught up at chapter 325. Now that I have to pay I don’t think I will finish… I’m not a fan of kindle Vella. Hopefully one day there will just be a full book for sale.
I really dislike these episode-type books that require you to pay for every short snippet of a story. I can understand why author's love it as it gives them an infusion of cash continually instead of just for an entire book, but it doesn't really do much for readers. At this point, this series has over something like 1,500 episodes. There is just no way I'm going to continue beyond the 220 with the, sort of, wrap up of Ethan and Rosalie's story. I don't like that I won't find out what ends up happening with Georgia, Talon, and Soren, but it is what it is.
In relation to the story, I find it frustrating when characters are continually miscommunicating because they aren't communicating. A little of that is fine because it adds some sort of tension to a relationship, but when it happens over and over, it gets tiring. In relation to the characters...Rosalie does grow up and mature a bit through the story, which was a plus. Ethan also appears to grow and evolve over the length of the story, again, which was a plus. I cannot say that at the end I felt like all that much had happened. Lots of wars for no really valid reason. Lots of enemies for weird reasons. Lots of enemies that aren't really enemies, which was strange. Then, we have ages, which were also confusing. Sometimes, Rowan appeared to be doing things much beyond the abilities of an infant based on time passage in the story. Same thing with Maeve in the short episode that included her.
To sum up...I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either. I started it ages ago, but when Kindle Vella indicated it was wrapping up, I figured I needed to finish it before I no longer had the chance...or at least Ethan and Rosalie's story. For anyone who stuck it out through all 1,500+ episodes, kudos.
A girl at work loaned me her physical copies of the this book. I was apprehensive since it appeared to be an independent author. This book was well the title is off putting, should just be Breeder. The world building is non existent. There's a war, why a war, where a war, how is war fought, what is goal of war? I have no clue, but there's a war. Where do these characters live? What's it look like, no clue. Why do they shift into wolves, no lore what so ever for the paranormal part of this and only really briefly mention turning into wolves. The dialogue mostly consist of Rosalie saying Oh my goodness. Over all it was like reading a rough draft. Having said all those things, the premise of the story is good. It could use some flourishing and better structure, and assistance with descriptions and establishing rules and background. If these books were published in full in paperback, I would buy the series.
The first 2/3 of this book had me captivated. The rogue king portion started dragging and then once Ethan and Rosalie were each revived it was hard to stay engaged. I felt like the writing became weak and wordy with a lot of unnecessary extra words, sentences, and paragraphs. It was disappointing because I was riveted up to that point staying up late into the night to read what happened next.
Also, Ethan playing a melody by blowing on a leaf? Uhhhhhh
Anyway, I was let down at the end with all the mushy wedding stuff and gifts and the bonus chapters bored me. The writing became very sloppy and needs some hard editing.
I love Georgia, she’s my favorite. And I wouldn’t mind reading about a parallel universe with Soren because I actually liked him more than Ethan for some reason.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book is so good! However, I did find myself skipping through unnecessary parts that drug out. The one INCREDIBLY frustrating part is that the book doesn't seem to end. You have to keep paying to read. It is absolutely irritating to no ends! Books shouldn't cost this much money. It would be nice if she'd release 1 book and choose to have sequels to the book! This way is frustrating. I cannot even suggest this book to anyone for this reason alone. I would never ever suggest a book that you have to continually pay for to be able to read. So I'd like to give this book a good review and I would if you didn't have to keep paying. I think this author would be more popular and have a bigger fan base if she'd release a book followed by sequels vs the way it is set up now.
I am still reading this book. I am in a love/hate relationship with it. The story is good, a little dark and intense at times. I love these characters, especially Ethan and Talon, I want to love Soren too but im still skeptical. I would have rather it be in a couple books instead of one long story. So many emotions while reading. Hard to put into words all my thoughts. I will update when I am finished.
I have read all the chapters up to 300, or 80 on the second book. I would love to see more, or let us know if this is the ending. Very good book, and if it had been in full book form, I would have paid for it. As a broken chapter book, a few cents per chapter makes no sense to me. The story is engaging, and would keep you up at night reading it in full form. Love the 2 books.
Best romantic novel I've ever read. It's suspenseful, alluring, romantic, and exciting. I've never been so drawn into a nonfiction book in my life. It's one of the best reads I've ever had the privilege of reading.
Mostly I hate that I read a romance novel. 2nd I like this book but at times it just was way to long. Also since it is on one of those really silly pay to read sites it could use an actual editor for content, flow, and grammatical errors.
Does anyone know if this author will be writing another book or more chapters? It's disappointing that she would spend so much time being so descriptive throughout the whole book and leave the ending so cut off.
Keeps you wondering what's next love all of her books. This one is one of four in the series. Not all on amazon. Steamy, hot, possession, alpha king,Leading lady turns out to be....just read the book. You won't regret.
Great story. Many plot twists and turns. Rosaline and Ethan deserved to be together after everything that had been through. Talon and Georgia as well as Vicky and Paul are great too. I with Soren had found someone.
Currently reading this whenever I make the time to, and it’s impressive so far. It was just one of those stories that attracted my interest. Looking forward to seeing where it progresses. A part of me wonders if it’s at all similar to Beauty and the Beast.
