Shocking reading about the criminal takeover of the Russian state. Friends and colleagues who I met in my International Democrat Union days have been exiled, imprisoned, and murdered. A consolation was that an official I had worked with was actually one of the honest ones; a rarity. Read and be warned.

Once I started this, I couldn't stop reading. Then I'd tell my husband, 'Oh my goodness, you've got to read this.'I'm not a biography fan but...
Biography of Bill Browder & his fight with Putin. Read both now. Scary real life stuff.

Quite a story. An easy read, and there was an awful lot going on here so I have to commend the author and the editor for making everything understandable. I have seen Bill Browder on CNN and he is very persuasive. I do wonder how he managed to avoid getting poisoned or falling out of a window.

Some parts dragged but this hooked me in from the very beginning. There were moments I almost cried. It's a book that stays with you long after finishing it.

Two books that are nonfiction that read like fiction are just as relevant in the present political climate as they were when Browder wrote them.
