I'm 43 and I WISH I had this book when I was 13!

Back then, I read comics voraciously and constantly drew my favorite characters and invented ones of my own. This book would absolutely have been among my most prized possessions!

It's a gorgeous book. Jonah Lobe's illustrations are beautiful and intricate. In the weeks since I received it, I've found myself repeatedly returning just to pore over his vibrant, detailed work. Sumerak and Wallace contextualize his superb artwork with "scientific" explanations of the Marvel Universe that weave together into a surprisingly cohesive and convincing whole.

If you're a Marvel fan yourself or have a young person in your life who's anything like 13 year old me, this book will not disappoint!

Written in the style of a Wakandan dossier by King T'Challa, this chronicles the advantages and disadvantages of powered people (from Avengers to Mutants to Inhumans) in the ongoing war against the Skrulls. With insights from Shuri as well, this is a fun read for any and all Marvel fans. Plus, the illustrations are absolutely gorgeous.

This book exceeded my expectations!

First, I have to talk about the illustrations. Jonah Lobe's work is not only superb but it feels like a "grounded" version of the Marvel Universe. The characters look more believable than ever, something that is only enhanced by the clear and sensible texts that accompany every illustration.

Second, I was surprised that the book has a backstory to it: This is a research of the anatomy/powers of the characters to be able to distinguish them from Skrulls and how their powers can help us beat the incoming invasion.

Third, I think it has the perfect balance between information and illustrations, and also that is perfectly enjoyable for fans and non-fans alike. For example, if something goes against certain parts of the canon (that we all know shifts a lot!) there are a coupler of "disclaimer" that make sense in the story... some things are rumours or things that the Guardians say, so one cannot be sure it is true...

In sum, if you want to enjoy a grounded, scientifically sound, anatomy guide for dozens of Marvel characters, you HAVE to buy this book. You won't be dissapointed!

This book is large, and the illustrations are super cool. It's just a coffee table book though, not too much information. If that's what you're looking for, I think this is pretty unique!

As a Marvel fan, I found this book to be absolutely fantastic. Taking an approach of preparing for a Skrull war, the book walks us through most of Marvel's most famous characters breaking down their abilities into scientific descriptions. Each character gets an assessment as to whether or not they can be used in the war.

Fun and original - if you are a Marvel fan, this book is a MUST!
