“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

Hope is a powerful thing.  It motivates us to do the seemingly unattainable and sustains us through trying times.

The second wave of COVID-19 in India has had severe consequences in the form of spiralling cases, reduced supplies of essential treatments, and increased deaths,, particularly in the young population.

This is one such story of an individual who survived. The author has shared his experience while fighting in the ravaged conditions. It is even more remarkable because a good part of the book was written while the author was hospitalised. After reading this book, you'll see that the author is a real fighter who has persevered through adversity by maintaining a positive outlook. His wife, who was genuinely a better half to him and a rock to their children throughout this tragedy, writes the final chapter.

Due to the fact that practically all of us have experienced hardship in the past two years, I would recommend this book to everyone. It has excellent writing. As I read the novel, I experienced several emotions, including fear, joy, and optimism.

You might like to wander through a few artistic journals — they’re full of sparks and surprises.

You should not judge a book by its title. And from now on I will strictly follow this principle, because when I saw the title of this book 'On The Deathbed' obviously I had the assumption that it's gonna be another book on the agony that covid has given to humanity. But it turned out to be quite a positive book. This book is basically a compilation of the author's experience that he recorded in written format during a covid pandemic. Even though he remained within the safe space of his home, he contacted the deadly virus and then the rest was a hell of an experience. Having to stay in a public hospital then shifting back to a private hospital, people he witnessed inside the hospital wailing in pain, doctors dressed like alien, and all such new yet melancholic experiences.

But what felt positive and different about this book compared to other well-documented books was the tone and the format of the book, which gave an optimistic vibe. The author also shared a few clicks during his stay in hospital and about his post-covid experiences. 'On The Deathbed' started with a few harrowing experiences but ended up with a happy ending.

Books like this are a testament that people weren't lying about covid and that all these were not hoax. People making assumptions in their conspiracy filled up brains is an insult to the people who lost their dear ones in this phase.

So, if you want to read a book that is based on personal covid experience, then this book will definitely meet your taste.

On the Deathbed: My Encounter With The Covid-19 Virus by Karthik K. B. Rao is a book that gave me chills by simply reading just the title , I obviously had an idea of what to expect from the content inside but it’s safe to say it surpassed my expectations and in a good way.

Covid was something that shook not only the entire nation but the entire world. It was like the most scary horror movie we’ve ever watched expect it’s not a movie it’s our real life.

This is not a fictional book it’s the collection of experiences Karthik went through when Covid hit and he was in the hospital and during that time he journaled his feelings and thoughts and complied this book and a major part of this book is written while he was in the hospital , on the bed he presumed to be his deathbed , this gives me shivers.

What’s the most commendable part is his positive attitude , even in the most vulnerable of times when the world was crashing in front of our eyes he had it in him to fight , fight through it. Those trying times were not affecting us physically but it was a bigger challenge mentally not only for us but our families , our doctors and possibly the entire world. When Darwin said survival of the fittest I’m certain he meant people like Karthik.

This isn’t just Karthik’s story , this is the story of many Indian homes and a lot of them weren’t lucky enough to make it out of their deathbeds and I hope their souls rest in peace but for people who fought and were lucky and brave to fight through it all mentally and physically , I have a ton of respect.

This book inspired people to be tougher when life is at its toughest , there were several chills-inducing moments through the course of reading this book. Furthermore , the language used is simple making it easy to comprehend for a diverse range of people , the writing without a doubt is amazing and the author is a fighter. Definitely recommended it’s a worthwhile read.

Life and passing are the different sides of a coin . Yet, the manner in which we esteem life we don't appreciate passing despite the fact that it's the most genuine of the real world .
The creator and his better half are contaminated with the infection. While the last option gets by with next to no potential ramifications, the creator is compelled to move clinics and go through a scope of medicines with next to no conceivable expectation. They likewise have two children, which adds on to the obligation and stress.
With all the negative new and ascent of passings , keeping up the boldness and the expectation and confidence in endurance is something which have been pennes magnificently well by the writer as this book is about his own encounters. The portrayal is truly straightforward and effectively understood..it showed me the whole stage in an extremely engaging way.

📍The introduction itself will give you jitters. Imagining your own death & your young kids not being able to see you one last time, the MC disposing off your body..that's when the author decided to fight back!

He was admitted twice for the deadly virus. Most of his journey, he had penned in the hospital itself. The moment he thought he was recovering he would bounce back to square one. He has shared a lot of minute details like using adult diapers to relieve himself & his struggle, people dying beside him..etc which gives a very intimate glimpse of the scenario he faced. I am so grateful to God that my family got through this phase, w/out any major prob.

The author mentions how we humans take priceless treasures of life like the air/oxygen we breathe in, for granted. He starts recollecting his bucket list & mentally ticks the things he has done.

When he thinks he's recovering, his stats drop to an all time low..in the hosp. He has made his ordeal with this chinki virus sound very embarrassing & humorous other than emotional. He had used vernacular lang quite a few no. of times for that added effect. Also mobile phone initially & books & adjacent hospital mates/ ladies later made it a bit helpful to carry on.

What i LOVED other than the honest, crude a/c by the author was the coloured pictures, screenshots, xray, ticking the bucket list pictures & more. I just loved this sec. Gave me goosebumps & made me smile. Kudos to your wife for being a warrior.

OMG this has never happened to me, that i had tears at the end of first chapter itself.
I am speechless after finishing this book, no words are enough to convey the message and depth these pages inculcated when it comes a expressing the harsh and unbearable havoc that COVID 19 brought into our lives.

Karthik K.B Rao has captured the true terror that surrounds COVID in his story, the entire experience of suffering from this disease to ending up in hospital, the death the hopelessness that follows is hauntingly depicted. But that's not what made me love it the hope, strength, conviction inner strength of Karthik that's evident with every flick of page, that's what gave me goosebumps. What made it a more relevant tale is that it's reveals fundamental truths of facing hardships.
I was moved by it.
I was inspired by it.

I admire Karthik KP Rao isn't shy when writing about trigger worthy issues and not so talked about subjects. I am blown away how he has weaved each handful of pages and shrouded it in relevant issues.
I found I couldn’t tear myself away from the sad reality which managed to make me feel such strong Violent emotions. He has brought together an incident that shows what it truly means to be Helpless the vulnerability of each and every one of us from different phases of Covid has been captured perfectly. It brings in a relevant reality and portrays a very timely, important message that it's very important to never lose faith and giving up is never the option.

I feel Karthik as a author has a very distinct transformative writing style. Honestly books like this, that inspire us and makes us mentally stronger is a necessity in these testing times.
Equal part truthful, miserable and soothing, On the Death bed made my heart soar
I am spellbound by the book and i would recommend this book to everyone it's truly a Masterpiece!
6 stars out of 5!!!!

P.S:This book goes on my list of top reads of this month the sheer honesty, hope and heartbreak this book has is totally unforgettable.

“This patient is critical going by his latest blood reports. His CRP count is very high, if he doesn’t respond even to this NIV mask we will have to sedate him and put him on an invasive ventilator.”

For the past two years we all have been traumatized by the Covid-19. Everytime we turn on the news all we could see is the rise in death rate. From being on social media to going for grocery shopping, wherever we are, we could feel the presence of the deadly covid.

On 13th of may 2021, when corona was at it's peak in India, the world turned upside down for Karthik, for almost 38 days during which period he was treated both in Government as well as private hospitals. There were people dying all around him as he was lying with countless thoughts in the deadly covid ICU. He has two options: one is to go by the famous slogan " one who is afraid is dead" or formulate his own strategy and survive covid.

This book is a compilation of all that Karthik felt when he was in the Covid ICU. Almost half of this book was penned down when Karthik was in the hospital and how he journaled every emotion from pain, fear and his fight to survive and everything that was happening to him and around him. This book makes you shiver at the same time admire the
attitude and confidence of the author and how he never gave up even in the toughest of situation.

The author has provided a detailed pictorial representation from the time he was admitted to the hospital, how he penned down his thoughts in his phone or paper whenever he had access to those, his x ray results to the time he returned home safely. All of this was not just heart breaking but made me understood how much the every single person who was affected by covid suffered.

Ever since the outbreak of the pandemic on an international level, the way we knew things before it changed drastically and the people had to adopt to a certain and specific way of living that was completely different from what they had ever experienced.

The term Positive was something which we all used to look upon at with great reverence, however after the pandemic, it has now become the one term which is feared and it has never been so depressing or terrifying.

‘On The Deathbed: My Encounter with The Covid-19 Virus’ by Karthik KB Rao ennumerates the journey, or more appropriately, the battle of the author with the deadly virus and how it was a life changing experience for him.

Initially, the author was obviously taken aback when he first got the test results as he was working from home and hadn't been outdoors much. Being unable to predict potential deterioration to his as well as the health of his family was also worrisome.

To top it off, there was also an incessant flow of information, and the more he saw what came on the media outlets and digital platforms, the more confused and anxious he became.

Even after seeing the result and the state our world is currently in, there are still a number of ignorant people who either refuse to believe that there is such virus or they are stupid enough to not know about the severity of the situation.

Hence, this book will definitely be an inspiration to many and show how we should keep hoping for the best as well as be an eye opener to the uninformed who are still not grasping the seriousness and practicing protocols.

Reading about all the experiences and the situations that the author went through literally gave me chills. Hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On The Deathbed by Karthik K. B. Rao is a nonfiction which documents the author's journey through the time when he got affected and here he documents his experience with the disease.

As someone who has more than four front-line workers in the family, I had a front-row ticket to the effects and the hardships that covid inflicted upon the whole world, to say the least. Apart from that I also got to know about so many deaths and the impact of these deaths.

I would say that 2020- mid-2021 was the worst possible time I ever had to go through and probably will go through. The one thing that was important through all of this was hope.
Hope that this won't last forever and that things would get better. And even though at times it was really hard to hold onto, it was the only thing that got us through this pandemic.

And unlike numerous other stories out there, including mine which documents loss, pain, heartbreaks and hopelessness, this one is about hope. A four-lettered word which has the power to get one through the hardest of times and can provide strength to move mountains is what this story is about and I cannot be any more grateful that I came across this one.

We see the author's journey through the pandemic when he got affected and being sick with the virus and how he did not lose hope and how that hope is what kept him going. The best thing about this book is that he wrote all of this while he was sick with the virus and that just makes reading this a whole new experience.

Nothing to critically analyze about this one, it is just one of those books that everyone needs to read.

Looking forward to reading more from the author.

Book title: On the death bed by @Karthik K.B.Rao

Theme:

The book opens with two scenarios, that is, a person thinking of two worst possible scenarios after getting infected with the Coronavirus.

The author and his wife are infected with the virus. While the latter survives without any possible implications, the author is forced to shift hospitals and undergo a range of treatments without any possible hope. They also have two kids, which adds to the responsibility and stress

Narration:

Being a short book, the author directly gets into the story without beating around the bush. The procedures and the treatments were at the maximum, explained in detail.

The post-Covid struggles that many people tend to ignore were explained very well. The process of gradually getting back to the routine was also well written.

Language and grammar were simple and neat. The beginning and end of the book were written well.

Speaking of the cover and title, the cover was so well-designed and attractive, and the title was so relatable to the story.

An informational and insightful read!

If you are looking forward to learning more about the virus, infection and everything in between, then this book is definitely for you!

Memoir are always a treat to read but this one will definitely give everyone chills down their spine as this is related to something we all have recently faced, i.e. the phase of pandemic. COVID-19 had shut down the whole globe and almost put a pause to teh human kind regardless of their physical location or genetics.
Several lives were lost during the different phases of the pandemic and the whole mankind was depended on the doctors, nurses and scientists to find a solution of this global problem.
Our protagonist, Kartik was no different, he also faced the pandemic and was affected by the virus. He has penned down his experiences while fighting with the same. The emotional turmoil he had to went through is beyond our capacity of imagination as the pain and fear suffered by an infected patient and his family is indescribable.
Personally, I was lucky enough that my near and dear ones were all safe but the news made me broke down in tears, each time. The same thing happened while I was reading this memoir.
Each words will definitely touch your heart and the things written down are raw and unedited version of the actual pandemic. This definitely bring back the memories of last two years but I am glad that the writer has shown a positive attitude and promoted it through this book. His positive attitude towards the phase of pandemic is remarkable and it was the need of the time as many lacked it.
This is a non fictional book and it serves the duty of a guide to all the people living in any corner of the world. The narration of the book is very nice and the language used is lucid. It's relatable and easy to understand. Thus making it a great book to read in the recent times.

This book will take you back to that old disastrous time when Covid-19 was at its peak.

It's based on the author's experience when he was in ICU suffering from Delta variant.

I remember how bad I used to feel by reading the news about the increasing no.s of deaths, rapid transmission, lack of hospital beds, and seeing people standing in long queues for oxygen tanks.

I've seen people losing hope of survival in this pandemic & I honestly think that those who survived these disease including me & Author are very lucky.

Because life does not always give a 2nd chance to everyone to value it.

My condolences are to those people who lost their loved ones in this pandemic & those childrens who are now orphans, and to those faces who lost their everything in this pandemic.

I pray that they all got that light again to get off from this awful truth &
Start their new life again with new hope & energy, where health is our utmost priority.

On The Deathbed: My Encounter With The COVID-19 Virus, by Karthik K B Rao, is a narrative account of his suffering after becoming infected and his fightback.
The book reveals the inner narrative of so many ICUs during the second wave of the feared pandemic. It put individuals through agony and changed the entire world's way of existence.
The second wave, which hit in mid-2021, had a tremendous impact on many healthy individuals, and his candid record of his days in the hospitals paints a vivid picture of the anguish and struggles that families faced during these trying times. At the point when Covid was grinding away's top in India, the world flipped around for Karthik, for just about 38 days during which period he was dealt with both in Government as well as confidential emergency clinics. There were individuals passing on surrounding him as he was lying with endless contemplations in the destructive Coronavirus ICU. He has two choices: one is to go by the renowned motto " one who is worried is dead" or figure out his own methodology and endure Coronavirus.
An unexpected component is the part in the end composed by his better half Sushma. One understands that she went through a greater damnation than her better half. Indeed, even this perspective is described like holding fiction.
I read the entire book in one sitting and I was so moved by the story of this book. Loved it!

"Jo Darr Gaya wo Marr Gaya". This phrase just hit me hard that time.

Karthik is working from home since 2018 and Sushma works in a central government organisation. She has no time to spare for herself in the middle of the covid pandemic which later hit her whole family. Though Karthik lived all the time at home, Sushma and Karthik both tested positive. And Karthik has penned down his whole experience from his perspective in the first part. This is not only a non-fiction book but the reality we have seen in these 2 years of our life.

The time we can never forget. While reading the book the flashback to 2020 is in front of my eyes. I can remember how we have spent a single day not thinking about this deadly pandemic. It needs so much courage to pen down the thoughts. Kudos to the author, Karthik has shared his experience with us.

The after effect of Covid is more hazardous than the time of infection. The funny symptoms, the struggle to find a bed in hospitals, to find a peaceful time with family, adequate amount of oxygen, every detail has been with meticulous execution.

This book will be always in my heart. It feels like, the time is just being replayed in front of my eyes and I don't want anyone would ever suffer from this situation.

Covid was a phenomenon that rocked not just the country, but the entire world. It was like seeing the worst horror movie we've ever seen, only it wasn't a movie, it was real life.

This is not a fictional book; it is a compilation of Karthik's experiences when Covid struck and he was in the hospital; during that time, he journaled his feelings and thoughts and compiled this book; and a large portion of this book was written while he was in the hospital, on the bed he assumed to be his deathbed, which gives me the creeps.

Any individual who faces his biggest fears (in this case, death itself!), lives through them, fights them, and triumphs over them need immense bravery. And you, Karthik, have accomplished this admirably! I trembled as you were scared, shuddered as you grimaced, grieved as you wept, and laughed as you smiled.

This book pushed individuals to be tougher when life was at its most difficult, and there were some chilling moments while reading it. Furthermore, the language employed is simple, making it accessible to a wide spectrum of individuals; the writing is outstanding and the author is a warrior. It is unquestionably recommended as a worthwhile read.

In this book the author has shared his experience the trauma he had faced during the time while reading the book I realised the importance of patience how it's help you to relieve from the major circumstances.

Language is quite simple and the description and the story is really relatable for so many people.

To say that the Coronavirus or COVID-19 played havoc in the world in the last two years or so would be an understatement. It made people go through hell and changed the way of life for the entire world.

This was more evident during the second wave of the virus. When the first wave subsided, many of us assumed that the worst was over but that turned out to be false and how. Many healthy individuals literally went through horrid times.

One of those unfortunate ones was author Karthik K B Rao. His book On The Deathbed: My Encounter With The COVID-19 Virus lists down his ordeal after getting infected and his fightback in a narrative form.

Karthik and his wife Sushma got infected with the virus in May 2021. While his wife’s condition wasn’t severe, the same wasn’t the case with Karthik. The virus started affecting him at such a high level that he started facing numerous issues, including low oxygen levels. It was an uphill task to get him admitted in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of a government hospital.

But that wasn’t the end of the ordeal for Karthik. It was actually the beginning. He had to be shifted to a private hospital in the middle of the night as his condition deteriorated further and there were doubts being raised about his survival.

The aforementioned description of the content might give an idea that On The Deathbed is a sad or, at least, a very serious book. But that is far from the case. While the book does narrate how he went through hell and had to struggle even to carry out the simplest of tasks as answering nature’s calls, it is told in an engaging manner with regular doses of witty and, at times, dark humor.

In fact, after finishing the initial few pages itself, I forgot that On The Deathbed is non-fiction. It actually appears more like those survival genre films like Trapped (2017). Just like the film, we feel for the protagonist here as he goes through a rollercoaster ride of survival. There is a feeling of relief in the end, although we know beforehand that Karthik has survived.

A surprise element is the portion in the end written by his wife Sushma. One realizes that she went through a bigger hell than her husband. Even this aspect is narrated like gripping fiction.

The author is able to achieve the means despite using simple, everyday language that can appeal even to an ordinary layman, just like his earlier book The Mahabharata Code.

The only minus point here is the author addressing the virus as ‘Chinki virus’ once. This could have been avoided as it sounds problematic.

Overall: On The Deathbed: My Encounter With The COVID-19 Virus is a gripping tale of survival of a couple that went through hell during the second wave.

A truly captivating book. I couldn’t keep the book down once I opened the first page until the last page is finished. This is unlike any other book where you read a story and treat it as a story; this book brings you into the emotions of the protagonist of the book. Karthik succeeded in getting me into the character and to feel every breath of his encounter with the Covid.

From learning to live with diapers and NIV Masks, adapting to the world of PPE clad alien-likes, missed comforts of the world – resigned to see only on the rear-view mirror, conversations with the fellow mates on the deathbed and unceasing traumatic scenes of body-bags carried on stretchers; the author pulls you deep into the thoughts and emotions of a person who is on a deathbed. Oscillating between the conscious and unconscious state, struggling for the critical necessity of the life: breath, re-learning the breathing, discovering the synchronized breathing with the click of the oxygen pumping machine, author has laid out the push and pulls of the deathbed days in its naked form to the lucky me person who had the fortune of not being swept by the Delta variant surge.

I rarely cry, but page after page tears kept rolling, by the deathbed narrations of Karthik’s personal fight which brought back the memories of the entire world engulfed in the Covid fire.

Karthik has returned to the society after his epic fight with the Covid to present this magnum opus – an ultimate tribute to the gift of life, a testimony to the resilience of the country which fought itself off the Delta clutch and a fitting tribute to all those survived or deceased fighting Covid. A must read for all.

"There is always the last time for everything in life… the last time you eat your favourite sweet, your last conversation with your grandparent, the last time you carried your child before they grew too heavy."
.
.
and you never know; and that's what makes it even scarier.
.
Over the last few years, the world has witnessed the most frightful time with the pandemic caused by a micro life- a dreadful virus. In this mass effect, not a single human was left unaffected in one way or the other.

This book is a live documentary of the author's life as a victim and a survivor of the deadly disease caused by the Virus.

The book takes us on the journey of his 38 days of being a bedridden c0vid patient in govt. and private hospitals through extreme horrors.
Although it was supposed to be a grave read considering the seriousness of the contents, kudos to the author's sense of humour. It was kept all light and comfortable mostly. Also, one can't deny the level of sufferings he had to go through in the hospital ICU and general ward. I can't imagine how it would feel to live with the fear of losing one's precious life. In a place, where lifeless bodies are being carried away after every interval of time, and you are fighting for breaths. You have only two choices, either you fight it or give up on it.
That one para from the author's voice as "How many had died in this same bed where I was hesitant to relieve myself? Is this how this bed became vacant before they moved me here?" made me realize the harsh reality of life and that's how probably life goes on.
Written in extremely simple language and intriguing narration, the book is a delight to read. It will make you laugh at the silly things, introspect the truth of life, and cry over the worst struggles, but the end will definitely make you feel contented. This book will also leave you on a roller coaster of an emotional ride without exaggerating the content.
The inclusion of pictures was a total surprise for me as I found myself admiring them. Mrs Sushma's (the author's wife) take on this whole scenario was something more than worth reading.

BOOK REVIEW
BOOK - ON THE DEATHBED
AUTHOR - KARTHIK K B RAO

Have you ever felt that life is ebbing slowly from your body and there is no hope ?

Have you been uncertain what the future holds for you?

Life was halted during covid pandemic which wreaked, destroyed several lives- physically, mentally, socially, economically and emotionally.

Very few people have come out those testing times and lived to tell the tale. The author of this book is one such hero.I vividly remember watching news and monitoring the covid situation in India during the second wave in 2021. Especially May unleashed its devastating tentacles which gobbled up several lives. Every testing positive was a devasting thing for families. The author too tested positive during these times. The next phase starting in the hunt for hospitals. The scarcity of both oxygen, hospital beds - both intensive and otherwise for every section of the society was appaling. The patients clinging on their oxygen cylinders for their dear life is one incident we never want to witness ever again.

The author had to be shuffled from government to private hospitals. If this was not enough, the ordeal which he faced in the ICU for more than a month was the most testing times of his life. The precious and painful thing about this book is we can vividly experience.

The condition of his children and wife and the brave front which his face put in the time of ordeal and uncertainty is praiseworthy. The last chapter is a testimony by his wife which was emotional to read.

Overall, the book is penned well and a fast paced read. It's highly recommended and do grab your copy without fail.

The title and cover themselves reflect the plot of the story. Yes, in this story, the author has narrated his experience of covid infection and various situations related to the same.

The story starts when second wave of covid in India was on high stage and that's when the author was infected. He has mentioned about all the small details which is very informative. I didn't know much about oxygen saturation and other important technical medical terms. And the author has explained everything very easily.

I found myself go through many emotions while reading this book. It made me grateful for just breathing. Yes, every covid patient can feel this when i am writing this. I had also been infected with this evil thing but fortunately i got well with just home isolation and medicines so i should consider myself lucky definitely.

The author has mentioned his pre covid life, the experience of government and private hospitals throughout his infection and also about post covid experience. He was infected strongly i guess and that's why he took time to fully recover even after being covid negative. Yes, this virus can leave you very weak and demotivated. But the author is motivated to live through it all.

The epilogue is narrated from the POV of his wife and it was also very emotional. She felt alone and weak many times but to get her husband back was what kept her going and she fought really strong for him. The author has also put his pictures from hospital and many places which can be related to the story.

I liked the story thoroughly. This was something different from what I read usually but it was an eye opener to not take anything for granted ever. If God is giving you strength to breathe, walk, talk and live happily with your loved ones, there is nothing more you can ask for.

This story teaches us to be grateful always and appreciate little things in life. This is a must read book for anyone. The language is lucid. The story is developed well. Definitely recommended!

First of all thanks Karthik for sending me the book. Reading this book i have realised that getting affected with COVID was not a child's play. I too lost many relatives in this pandemic but never realised how difficult it would have been for them for the last few days. And really would salute you for giving such a tough fight and winning against the chinki virus as you said. This book is about what Karthik felt when he was affected with COVID and how he kept himself positive to come back winning. Good part of the book is his pictures which he took of himself during the stay in hospital. Like Karthik I am also a hard-core fan of test cricket. Was really disappointed when we lost the test championship. Hope they win the series against England which is going to start tomorrow. Best part of the book is the last few pages where Karthik's wife Shushma has displayed here emotions, everything what she felt when he was in hospital. Really each person should have some a supporter in his/her life to win against all odds. Thank you Karthik for making us feel as your friends to convey what you felt. Lastly please get well soon and write many more books so that we readers can enjoy your narration. Really it's a eye opener Goodreads ♥️

In his narrative, Karthik K.B. Rao brilliantly captures the actual dread that accompanies COVID, from when a patient is diagnosed with the illness to when they pass away and the helplessness that follows. The author of "On the Deathbed: My Encounter with the Covid-19 Virus," Karthik KB Rao, details his journey—or, more accurately, his struggle—against the lethal virus and how it affected his life.

The author's existence was flipped upside down on May 13th, 2021, when the corona was at its worst in India. During that time, he received treatment in both public and private institutions for over 38 days. He was resting in the terrible ICU with innumerable thoughts while others died all around him. He had two choices: he may follow the adage "One who is terrified is dead," or devise his plan and live to tell the tale.

All the emotions the author experienced when he was in the Covid ICU are collected in this book. He wrote about half of this book while he was in the hospital, chronicling every feeling he experienced including agony, terror, and his struggle to survive as well as everything that was occurring to him and everyone around him. You can't help but shudder while admiring the author's attitude, confidence, and perseverance even under the most trying circumstances.

The book fulfils the role of being a guide for everyone living everywhere in the world. This book pays respect to all individuals who experienced suffering and faced death head-on and gives them a voice. An excellent book that makes one tear up as they remember the dark times in recent history.

The book's narration is excellent, and the language is clear. It is understandable and relatable. Consequently, it is a fantastic book to read now. Highly suggested.

There is no denying the fact that the past couple of years have been hard for each and every single individual.

And the experiences that have been garnered during these times are something that will be remembered by most of us for a really long time.

At first glance, ‘On the Deathbed : My Encounter With The Covid-19 Virus’ by Karthik K B Rao is a book that seems to be about the trials and tribulations that the author faced when he contracted the deadly virus.

However, as we read and get to know more about the story, we understand that this is not just the story about his bout with the infection, but its his journey of conquering and facing the unthinkable and coming out of it more stronger.

When times are dark and there are so many things to get your head around, it can be hard to stay motivated and stimulated.

However reading this book will definitely help the readers to not let their positivity ebb, or lose their mojo, but rather keep a firm belief that everything will turn out to be alright at the end. Hence I am going to give this FIVE STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Coronavirus or the Covid 19 pandemic created a hovac in our lives. Many lost their dear ones and many lost their healths in the process. Hats to all the health professionals , families and the people who were infected and survived for their resilience. I bow my head to all those who lost their brutal battles with lives but will cherish forever in our hearts.

This book is special as its written by the author who was a covid victim. The author pens his experiences of what he felt when he was tested positive, his time in both the government and private hospitals, ICU days where every moment was gripping and how his family withstood the pressure and the tribulation times.

This book is surely a tribute and lends a voice to all those who underwent pain and battled life and death. A great read and emotional as one reminisces the black days in the recent history. Highly recommended.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to the world.

From the blurb it's clear that On the deathbed is an ordeal of the author of his encounter with Covid-19. I lack words to pen my thoughts about it after reading something so personal and incredibly moving.

It takes no time to get familiar with the space of the author's mind, his thoughts and feelings when he was in the hospital fighting against this deadly virus. It was inspiring to read how bravely the author battled the disease and didn't lose hope.

This book has a lot to say. It offers insights into the mind of a person near to death and watching people dying around him. I appreciate what the author tried to put forward through his writings. I find it extremely courageous and inspiring.

On the deathbed is a book written by Karthik B Rao describing his fight with covid 19.

Covid 19 had a dangerous impact on everyone's life, a deadly disaster for the world. People lose their lives, their loved ones, and their normal life in this disease. The author reminded us of that time and the harsh and Painful reality of covid 19.

I got an emotional attachment to this while reading this because being a reader is one thing but as human beings, we all went through that horror once. The author beautifully penned down the reality, the actual reality of how covid patients are treated and went through. When you can relate to the book, you will automatically start to like it That's what happens in this. A round of applause for the author for his positivity and his strength inspired many.

As I can relate to the author's wife's struggle because in covid, suffering on your own is easy but watching your loved ones getting hurt or in pain is very difficult.

How simply the author spoke about his entire covid journey in these chapters, and how each chapter will show you, the strength to win this fight and return home!

I love how the author was brutally honest about his journey sharing the good and worst parts equally, clearly and loudly so that people can know what exactly it is to fight covid.

Those pictures and screenshots were evidence that the author was fighting hard to win the battle.

There are rare books that give you an actual picture or reality of the world and current situation and this book is perfect for that.

One cannot imagine what covid patients and the author went through during their covid hospital days, having constant fear that they can die any minute, any hour or maybe the next day.

An amazing penned-out journey of fighting a battle and winning it with all the willpower.

I definitely recommend it.

A book that is so real.

On the death bed was a very emotional read for me. I lost my father post covid and going through this book was like replaying everything again. Author has poured down his own experience inside the Covid zone area. The battle of life and death. The journey of struggle, to win own breath. I was definitely sentiment throughout. How author got admitted, what all he faced and surely the oxygen levels monitoring.

It is well said by writer, worried is not the word that can be used for covid patients. Each and every days happenings and the treatment provided by both government and private hospital is mentioned by author. In short this book is not only author's note but also about millions of other people who passed this phase. Few successfully others not so fortunate.

Author has written the entire book in simple language, that makes the readers connected from the very first page.
Pouring his heart and filled up with all the ups and downs of life this book covers covid second waves difficult situation.

I received the book as a review copy and I am posing my honest review of the book.
The book is about the author’s COVID fight. He gets infected and is admitted in hospital, he walks through his experience and what he saw, how he felt and all in his book.
The book was emotional, well I sure believe that a lot of people across the world had such emotional life experiences during the past couple of years and feel happy for all those who could survive the hard time. Lucky are those who never had to go to hospital; fighters are those who got admitted, and fought they life out of the viral hands, like our author here.
Karthik has pended the emotions very well and very realistic, which catch my interest with respect to his writing style. I was glad to see some pics of his in the book were really a plus point to the book. The post COVID effects and challenges were also put up very well and I wish the author does not suffer from a long-lasting effect. Well for that matter everyone who has survived should have a healthy life, after all they had the worse of their life times during this time.
Thanks to the author of the book, I sure recommend the book for readers, it isn’t big and is very real so try your hands on and hope you would like it.
