Multiple time USA TODAY & Amazon 5-million copy bestselling authors DAVID ARCHER and BLAKE BANNER have combined forces to create one hell of a thriller series!
The Russians have a special way of gambling. They take a revolver and they place one round the chambers and spin it. Then they take it in turns to put the gun to their heads and pull the trigger.
It’s called Russian Roulette.
Now they have a new, deadlier way of playing it.
Six Tactical Nuclear Devices at six different locations – locations known to just one man. It might be a rucksack on a picnic trail, a suitcase at a bus station, a car parked in the heart of New York. But only one is real. Maximum stress and disruption for minimum cost.
The game is played by informing the media that five dummies and one dirty nuclear bomb have been planted around the USA. Clues to their whereabouts have been sent to the Pentagon. But here’s the concealed in the clues is the trigger that will detonate the real device. Open the wrong trunk, pick up the wrong suitcase, and the fall out could be devastating – literally.
The CIA say it’s the Feds’ case. The Feds say it belongs to the CIA. The President says it’s ODIN’s, and it’s a job for Alex Mason.

Unrealistic dialogue throughout. Herky, jerky plot movement. Strange heroine. A poorly developed character. I have read all the books in this series and they were universally excellent! But not this one! The author must have been writing thru some period in his life where he was groping for a marketable story. His efforts were in vain! Not a good book!
The whole series follows a formula. For the first few books that's ok, but by book 5 it's becoming predictable. The only change in this book compared to the previous 4, is that Ailia is not in it, although she makes a guest appearance at the end I am hoping things improve the concept has potential, I'm just hoping it achieves it
There is a basis for a good book within this half, make that one third finished book. Major cities are leveled with little said or follow up. There seems to be a complex interesting plot developing, but NO it is VAPID!! And the all of a SUDDEN we have a “new” very knowledgeable “innocent” helping Alex save the world, or at least the US. Even as part of kindle unlimited is was not worth the money.
Yet another excellent storyline following the exploits of Alex Mason. Once I started reading the book I found it very hard to put it down for any length of time as I became so focused on what the characters were doing that I didn't want to stop reading and ultimately had some very late nights. I would recommend this series to all those people interested in techno thrillers as this series is up amongst the very best.
Not as enjoyable as previous offerings perhaps because the author was in a hurry to get a follow-up story out. The female evil one was a pretty transparent character and it was hard to believe the hero let her run as long as he did. Nero seemed to lose his ability in this one so what will he do to get it back?
The plot was too scary and too likely to happen. I can accept the bad guys coming up with but doubt we could prevail without an ODIN organization and agent to save us. Really enjoyed the ride.
Another brilliant book in this action adventure series. It is simply the best spy series out and hits too near the mark with connections to modern day events. A tense thriller and a right riveting read. Thoroughly recommend it.
I have enjoyed his writing style and that’s why a 3. But when Claire comes out of nowhere, without ID, he takes her blindly everywhere, even to his home? Really? Too many things are too far fetched in this book. Not like his previous books. A disappointment.
Beeb following Alex Mason now for awhile in his adventures and he has yet to dissapoint me. Love Nero, he is my favorite character. The plot twist in this one was a little sloppy and to fast to solve, but still a good read
The timeline is current, 2023. Russia has invaded the Ukraine. Putin is not popular. Foreign agents in the US with a nuke. We might be getting a bit redundant. Still a very good read.
I really like Alex and Aila's reparte amidst whatever dilemma they are involved with, but I found Russian Roulette the least entertaining plot of the series because it was so convoluted! I will read all the books in the series because the dashing American patriot and the witty Mossad agent appeal to me.
Interesting, different, Demands a sense of humor on an intellectual plane. The theme. Is original making the read more interesting than other similar authors
It was an exciting story throughout. Definitely scary when you think of the times we are in and what is going on with Russia and Putin and his threats.
Great scenarios, surprising spy characters, breathtaking pace. I really enjoyed the complexity of the story and the interesting characters. Fabulous ending.
I really really really liked Gates of Hell by these authors, but this one was only so-so. I guessed the ending of the book, and although it was definitely time well spent, I give it 4 *.
