Amelia Fairbanks was reared in a genteel English society. Despite her aristocratic upbringing, she was independent and strong-minded. Her father held her to the highest standards, where she was tutored to handle a weapon and wield a sword with the utmost accuracy, ease, and confidence. She wasn't afraid to implement those skills against anyone threatening her safety or, her virtue. When Amelia's mother succumbs unexpectedly, her father sends passage to join him at Fort Pitt in the New World where he serves as its commanding officer for the British Army. Her relationship with him tilted the scales toward hatred, as her only worth & value was her ability to attract a rich husband to elevate his social status.
Odatshe, is son to Nantuk, Wolf Clan Chief of the Mohawk Nation. He has been stripped of his leadership as War Chief due to his blinding lust for power that has considerably affected the lifestyle and safety of his people. He is sent on an important mission , which hopefully leads him on a path of righteousness towards regaining his father's respect and his honor.
It is during this journey he unwittingly encounters a small troop of British soldiers trying to fend off an attack of enemy Mohicans, while escorting the daughter of their commanding officer. Odatshe finds himself in awe of the striking beauty, who displays no fear but utter strength and skill as she too stands in combat against them and ends as the only "white" survivor standing.
Two enemies find themselves in a perilous situation neither expected to encounter. Will they go their separate ways when all is done OR, will their fateful circumstance continue, changing their lives in ways they never deemed possible?
I was an avid reader of romance fiction before I was able to follow my dream of becoming a published author.
It took nearly thirty hard-knock years before beginning that journey. If not for them, however, I never would have known how to create the kind of raw, human, emotion I want my readers to feel during their journey into my world of contemporary, historical, and suspense romances.
You'll find my characters relatable, flawed, sometimes wounded and broken who eventually find what we all seek out of life ... a deep connection, being understood and accepted, and with an ever-lasting love grown from it all. I write about life and the lessons learned from its experiences and welcome you into my world. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and hopefully be inspired in some small way.
Have a blessed day & hugs from me to you.icons located at the bottom of my w
Good story lines but the reading experience was marred by the consistent typos. It’s like this writer doesn’t edit her novels. Out of this series, this book is the worst for mistakes.
The 3rd in the series got mixed up with moons and winters, causing much ‘Head scratching’ trying to work out times and ages. I mean how can I full grown warrior be just over 60 moons old lol 😂 How can a 6-7 moons old child have a conversation about spirit dreams with her older brother. Hilarious but annoying
I fell in love with these characters and felt their struggles especially Amelia's It wasn't easy being an independent woman in those days and a surgeon. I enjoyed seeing the development of Amelia and Odatshe two strong willed personalities grow together. Can't wait to read book 5
Not what I was expecting. Had to pass over the parts that could have been left to my imagination. I love Natine American culture. That part was exceptional. Just close the curtain on the one on one. Too much for me. Won't be reading more from this author. Should have been rated Adult 18+
This is the first book I’ve read by this author, I liked it. This is also the first Native American Indian romance book I’ve read. I found it pleasant and easy to read, perhaps a little tame but still enjoyable. I shall continue to read books by this author.
I can honestly say I have loved this whole series and I still have one left and I'm not going to give any thing away that just spoils it. Cynthia Roberts is a good romance writer with great details these are love stories not smut stories these are a must read.
I truly enjoyed Captive Surrender it was very entertaining. Each page was filled with awe! About a time in history when their was so much unrest and war
