I'm still waiting to be swept up by an 100 year old vampire til this day. I love their relationship at times, but I feel Edward can forget he is the boyfriend NOT THE DAD! It was really cute story if you love paranormal romance.

My forever comfort books, only books I ever read both in Spanish and English ❤️ not the best writing, or best plot, but definitely has a place in my heart forever.

In middle school, I effing loved the Twilight saga. Now.. I wonder what was going on in Stephanie Meyers head when she wrote this. The amount of weird incest plays, and oddly Mormon beliefs smeared quickly onto pages doesn't translate well. The perfect book for the tween mind, but not for someone with a frontal lobe that has developed. Forever #TeamEdward though!

Slade’s Review of Twilight
I read this one years ago, back when the world was simpler and mortals still thought vampires sparkled. I remember being warned about that part ahead of time. I assumed it was a joke. It was not.
Because of this, I was young (okay, that’s a lie, I was still far older than any mortal), but my impressions of the genre were fresh and ideal. So I’m gonna rate it like I would have back then.
Despite the sparkle, I have to admit something uncomfortable. This book is a page turner. It’s the literary equivalent of potato chips. You sit down meaning to taste one and suddenly half the bag is gone and you’re drowning in teenage hormones and unaddressed codependency.
I understand the Edward thing. He’s brooding, emotionally unavailable, and highly committed to poor decision making. It’s a powerful combination. I can see why everyone lost their minds over him. Even I was caught up in the thirst trap for about three chapters before I snapped out of it and remembered I have standards.
The love triangle works, too. Jacob is the healthier choice, which makes him the boring one. Classic mortal dilemma…or is it moral dilemma? Either way, the universe loves a doomed romance, and apparently so do most readers with a pulse. That includes me – Hollywood got it wrong.
The lore is… well… unique. Sparkling. In the sunlight. I mean, if I step into the sun it hurts like a mother*****r, so maybe it’s just jealousy.
Remember the whole sex toy in the freezer fad this book sparked? [shudders]
Either way, I won’t judge (okay, maybe just a little).
I have seen far worse attempts to romanticize immortality. If anything, I respect the audacity. Make your monsters glitter. Why not. At least it’s memorable.
But things get strange as the series goes on. And I mean strange in a way that made me question several anatomical assumptions I had about vampires, shapeshifters, and basic biology. The baby scene? I had to stop reading and reassess my life choices. The imprinting? I’m still not touching that.
I remember enjoying the first book more than the rest. The story loses tension as it goes along. But the opening novel has a hypnotic quality. It knew exactly how to hook a generation, and it succeeded.
Overall?
I liked it.
It was ridiculous, earnest, dramatic, occasionally unhinged, and surprisingly addictive.
A cultural milestone.
A cautionary tale.
An icon.
I refuse to sparkle, though.
That is where I draw the line.
3.5. I’d probably give the first one a 4.5, and that number would walk back steadily with each book.

The Twilight series will always have a special place in my heart because they were the first-ever books I read for me, and not for school. I have reread these books around four times each. I remember when I was reading them for the first time I was addicted. I could not put it down. Now I know the plot isn't the greatest, but I still love them. Basically, Bella falls in love with Edward, a one-hundred-year-old vampire. She later gets conflicting feelings for Jacob, a werewolf, and Edward's enemy. She ultimately chooses Edward in the end. Along the way, they have to face James, Victoria, and the Volturi. I recomend these books to generally people who like fiction, fantasy, and romance books.

so i live for jacob pre-werewolf transformation. i also grew up on the books and movies. definitely feeds into every teen fantasies and desires, giving wattpad vibes and we all know it, but like thats the point. its a dirty pleasure. HOWEVER, i will never forgive stephanie myers for ruining jacobs character, as well as the whole weird resume thing

To be fair I haven’t read this series for YEARS, however it was instrumental to me awakening as a reader and even after all of these years I love the series.

I remember being at the eye of my seat and very invested in the story, and running to get the next books as they were finished! However it would not quite be “GOD TIER” for me so four stars!

Unlike most I saw the movies before I read these and really, I mean what can I say, its Twilight. The books have so much more and very descriptive and the movies for me just made for a smoother read. x0x0x0

Yes, I know this book is full of unhealthy relationship tropes, crazy plotlines, etc. BUT I reread it as a teenage girl CONSTANTLY. It is a cultural touchstone. Therefore, it has to be rated 5 stars.

What can I say? This is the original fantasy romance that kicked off my reading when I was younger - books are way better than the movies and Midnight Sun was a great addition for Edwards POV.
