Harmony hoped she would never have to see or hear from him ever again.
So when she was escorted into his office on her first day of the new consulting project, she's not only surprised to see him she's livid. He had the audacity to speak to her as if he had no idea who she was. Like the last time they saw each other, years ago, didn't involve a shouting match.
For Nova, seeing her in his office was a glimpse of the past he never would have wished for. But letting her know she had been on his mind for years, wasn't something he was ready to admit. So acting as if he didn't know her was easy. Despite his efforts to get her removed from the project, they were forced to work with each other.
She was the one who could ensure his software was ready for delivery, but could he trust she wouldn't try to seek revenge and sabotage the project? Long nights in the office together could help ease his mind, and maybe both of their hearts.

🤏🏾 soooo close. This book was sooo close to being good. 1st, there's soo much fluff that made this story extremely long (and kinda boring). It would've been one thing if it was interesting. But it wasn't. It was a whole bunch of code, computer talk that draaagged. 2nd, for two people who didn't like each other…I couldn't tell. There were a few jabs here and there but if I hadn't read the synopsis and found out that Harmony and Nova didn't like each other, I wouldn't have known. 3rd, I'm not sure I like Nova. He lacked confidence when it came to Harmony. He questioned his move too much when it came to her. Even in the act, he would ask her like if it feels good and whatnot. At one point, SHE initiated phone sex after HE said he was tired and sleepy. She literally helped HIM rub one out and watched him pass out immediately after on FT. Some may like that, but I ain't like it. I don't mind her initiating it and taking the lead. It's just the way it happened in the story did not make Nova look good IMO. I needed him to exude a little more confidence. Like come on man, be confident that you putting it down, make her tell the neighbors your name….anyways, I digress. I wanted to DNF, but I pushed through and I'm glad I did. They had some obstacles, and I wanted to see how they managed it. I'll also say the transition from "enemies" to lovers was done so smoothly. It was nicely done 👏🏾. Harmony was super likable. She and Nova were actually super cute together. I loved her relationship with her best friend India. Overall, this was an okay read. I neither loved it nor hated it. 2.5⭐️
I made it to chapter seven but couldn't close the deal! This story is slow and drawn out and for no good reason. Chapters three through seven included a lot of technical talk, computers, codes and bugs.I usually try to push through but this was so boring, I kept falling asleep.
Mrs. Nichole, I enjoyed this read. It wasn't full of a plethora of drama. The most dramatic situation was Nico's illness which ended his basketball career. I would have liked to know more about what he was fighting against. He seemed to be able to live a pretty normal life whatever he had. Nova was most definitely his brother's keeper because the app he created stemmed from his brother's health issues. Nova used Nico as the face of his app to market. And insert Harmony, she was the missing piece in Nova's life. He needed someone to help him just live life. He had the mentality or the lifestyle of an older man in a young man's body. Ms. Nova was the fierce firecracker that jumped and started his life again. It also was a big plus that she was quite intelligent. She knew just as much about technology as Nova did. The two of them together just clicked. They both found the missing part in each other lives.
This is one of those books where the drama even melodrama is pretty much non-existent. It is just a book where two lovers had to realize there was more there than just a work relationship. The fact they had a past made it more interesting. Grab your copy and get into it.
I can always expect to enjoy a slow burn kind of love when I read a J. Nichole book and this didn't fair far from that.
Harmony's love of travel was very appealing to me. Then, to have a job where you literally are traveling all the time, and bring able to explore new places often, had me excited. I was a bit confused why she still held this grudge with Nova from college, yet I guess🤷🏾♀️. Either way, I'm glad they were able to let that go and become an item. As intriguing as her travels were, the relationship with Nova was rather boring. The intimacy was fire, so I guess there was a good balance. I like that she stood firm on wanting to travel and Nova adhered to it.
Nova was a very hard working and passionate CEO. His company held a special place in his heart, considering his brother, Nico, had some kind of disease or health issue that drove Nova to the idea behind his business. Either I missed it or it wasn't mentioned exactly what happened to his brother, yet I'm glad he was his inspiration.
I love that Nova was willing to open up and enjoy his time with Harmony. He was secure in what they had from the beginning and he didn't let those who might see them together sway his feelings. I like that he always was considerate of Harmony and what she wanted or needed. These two are going to be just fine.
This was a really good story. Lots of Love and finding happiness.
This book was a slow burn but it was very good. Nova and Harmony had to work to get it right. There was an underlying connection and vibe between that went beyond their status as enemies and when they finally explored their connection they were cute together. Nova seemed to be all in but struggled with balancing completing his goal for his company and Harmony was convinced she needed to travel for work but they couldn’t help missing each other at every turn and decided to work it out. I always love a good enemies to lovers story. This one wasn’t as spicy as others I’ve read but it was still cute and gave me the vibe I needed for the mood I was in while reading. Very chill and relaxing book with minimal drama.
As much as I enjoyed Nova and Harmonies from enemies to Lovers story I really am not sure why it seemed like something was missing. For the majority of the story I found my self wondering what it was about Nova’s brothers illness , which was never really explained , that really caused the push for HeathScare. Although it was briefly mentioned near the end of the book I still felt like I had missed something. There were times when I felt some of the encounters Harmony had with other men were rather random and didn’t seem to be important to the plot.
This was an interesting read , but I must admit it isn’t one of my favorites by this author.
I’m a big fan of J. Nichole’s work—those Dupree Boys will always have a special place in my heart, lol. So when I picked up I Wanted to Forget You, I was excited to see how the story would unfold, especially the ending.
Nova was definitely a piece of work! When he fired Harmony, I couldn’t help but side-eye him. But as the story progressed, everything came full circle in such a satisfying way. J. Nichole’s ability to weave complex characters and emotional depth into her stories continues to impress me.
This book is a great read, and I can’t wait to dive into more of J. Nichole’s work!
It was okay. It felt rushed. Where was the major conflict outside of making long distance work? It wasn't until the end of the book did she find out about his brother's disease, which was never explained to the readers. Exactly how does the app work? Wasn't his brother supposed be a spokesperson for the company? It was never mentioned again. The author usually has better stories.
I read a lot of romance novels.... I noticed years ago they typically follow the same formula. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, they break up, they makeup. They live hea. I love that the author decided to take the original blueprint, redesign it, and make her own masterpiece. Nothing in this book happened as I predicted it would and that alone makes this book worth its weight in gold. Add in relatable/ likeable characters and you have a very awesome read.
Bravo J. Nichole! I love it. Nova and Harmony had a sheer hate for one another that originated back in college, continued once they were brought together by work, then hate slowly disappeared as personal intimacy collided with professionalism. Nova and Harmony are headed to their FOREVERMORE!
Enemy to lover is one of the tropes I like when it's done right. The way this story panned out was nicely done. Nova and Harmony had a not-so-nice history, so working together might be challenging. The couple made it look easy and quite enjoyable.
They let in college, but a school Project turned them from friends to enemies! Years later she works for his firm as a consultant and their story begins! A good read!
I enjoyed the journey from enemies to lovers. I just thought the storyline just went on too long with the same situations. I still enjoyed the book and I always enjoy this author’s work.
Misunderstandings can cause misconceptions. Without finding out why Harmony caused Nova to not graduate on time while in college. Years later they come together for work and find love. Good story.
I didn’t know how this story would end. I was surprised by separation period between them, but love prevailed and the story was good from that point on.
This was my first book by this author. It was just ok. I didn't connect with Nova or Harmony at all. I did enjoy that these were two well adjusted human beings with no over the top drama or toxicity.
I enjoyed reading this book! I loved the love/hate relationship between Nova and Harmony! I had no clue if they would last or not! I do believe any and everyone who reads this book will enjoy it! I definitely recommend it!
