Matthew Sullivan is a scientist, who lives alone with his cat, named Tiger.
Working at a genetics laboratory, Matthew has a dangerous secret, he wants to find a cure, and to understand the condition, of the broken people.
Tobi was born with a defective genetic marker, people like Tobi are know as Broken.
Tobi is separated from society, medicated trained as a helper for everyday tasks and chores.
Matthew gets to choose a Broken person, as a gift from his father for his birthday, while trying to select a Broken person, Matthew is captivated by Tobi, and finds Tobi very alluring.
