The Courage to Face Covid-19: Preventing Hospitalization and Death While Battling the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex
The story of doctors who developed a safe and effective early treatment for COVID-19 and their battle with the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex that suppressed it.
At the beginning of 2020, Dr. Peter McCullough was a highly regarded practicing physician, program director, teacher, and clinical investigator at a major academic medical center in Dallas, Texas. When COVID-19 arrived in March, he felt a duty to find a treatment for the disease. He wasn't alone. Other doctors all over the world were also searching for a cure. They followed the longstanding principle that it's best to tackle a sickness early, before it becomes life threatening. This is the story of how Dr. McCullough and his colleagues developed an early treatment protocol of generic, repurposed drugs and supplements that has saved millions of COVID-19 patients from hospitalization and death.
In spite of their success, their early treatment protocol was not welcomed by public health officials. On the contrary, the news of their promising results was dismissed as soon as it was reported. At first this seemed like conventional skepticism, but then fraudulent papers maligning the protocol's repurposed drugs were published in academic medical journals. This and other acts of fraud revealed that a coordinated smear campaign against early treatment was being waged. Dr. McCullough and his colleagues soon found themselves censured, censored, attacked in the media, and fired from their jobs. The greatest victims of the smear campaign were COVID-19 patients who were consequently deprived of early treatment. Hundreds of thousands needlessly died of the disease.
At the same time early treatment was suppressed, the US government and mainstream media proclaimed that the cure to COVID-19 lay in a new generation of vaccines that were being developed at warp speed. These were heralded as a forthcoming panacea that would save mankind and restore normalcy. As soon as they were mass deployed, public health officials would lift the restrictions on social and economic life.
While many observers were thunderstruck by this turn of events, there were historical precedents. In his 1961 Farewell Address, President Eisenhower We must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought of unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. As Dr. McCullough and his colleagues learned, Eisenhower’s warning has become equally applicable to the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex of multinational drug companies, the NIH and other federal agencies, research and virology labs, and the Gates Foundation. Since COVID-19 arrived, this Complex has obtained misplaced power over every aspect of our lives and taken our liberties. The Courage to Face Covid-19 recounts how Dr. McCullough and his colleagues began their work by fighting a novel infectious disease, and then became leaders in fighting the tyrannical regime that endangers our American way of life.

A true American hero
This book should be required reading for all the citizens of the world. It is no accident that the story of Dr. Peter McCullough's brave fight against big pharma, big government and big tech is being told by a true crime author. The crimes against humanity are well described and well documented in this book. If you read no other books this year, read this one.

A Must Read for Every Rational Citizen
I have followed Dr. Peter McCullough's career the past three years. The slander, libel and vilification he has suffered defy belief. Unlike his attackers and critics he IS a clinician. His assertions are backed by thousands of hands-on treatments.

Confirmation of the obvious except to those suffering from Cognitive dissonance
I was very concerned at the start of the virus as family history has it that two of my ancestors died of the Spanish Flu. However it only took a short time of watching the WH press conferences to realize that we were being played. The denigrating of re-purposed drugs and the sardonic look on the doctor's face when our president mentioned them, well pretty obvious.
The rest is history, a very disturbing history of greed and medical malpractice.

I’ve read a number of books on covid and I keep thinking do I need to read another one? I got this book as soon as it was released, didn’t read it until right now. I’m glad I did. It’s not just another book on covid, well it is but this book tells the story of what I believe to be a great doctor. I had the privilege to hear Dr. McCoullogh speak and he you can just tell and feel that he speaks with a high level of integrity that is rare these days. I enjoyed to book. I’ve heard parts of his story but this book gave it all. I pray that his status as a world renowned doctor is one day redeemed, saddest part of his story is how the medical community just bashed him & ostracized him. The truth will one day be known, hopefully before it’s to late!

Even though I knew what the mainstream media wasn't sharing with the general public about Covid due to being on several uncensored media platforms, there were things in this book that still made me angry. If you were wondering if the conspiracy "theories" about Covid were true, I suggest you read the TRUTH in this book. You will be shocked, and a myriad of other emotions If you bought into what the TV was telling you for the last few years. A must read!

The substance of the book is on-target, and the narrative is clear. The typos were distracting, but the message is solid.
If you've been wondering what all the hullabaloo is about, this is a smooth-reading book that will put events into perspective. If you've been following along already, it will fill in gaps and solidify the timeline.
I have been a fan of Dr. McCullough since I first heard him speak. He has been excoriated by his former colleagues, and his professional reputation has been savaged. Still, he has, as we say, the courage of his convictions.

Baffling. Maddening. When the post pandemic books are written this book will be cited as another of the books detailing how we blew this crisis. Should be required reading. Had no idea the draconian measures were being taken to silence dissenting views on treatment plans.

The Courage to Face COVID-19, by John Leake and Dr. Peter McCullough tells the story of the COVID pandemic from a different perspective. From the start of the pandemic, the American people were being told to stay home and do nothing until you needed to be hospitalized with COVID. Sadly, this guidance proved to be a death sentence for many Americans. Meanwhile, there were doctors that were actually treating sick patients and saving lives. This is the story of those doctors.
This book not only follows the journey of Dr. Peter McCullough, but it also sheds light on the work of many other doctors that risked it all to fight for and treat sick COVID patients. Some of these doctors you may know, but there are many whose stories went untold that are in included this book.
This book also shows what happens when you challenge the narrative and go against the grain. There are many frightening examples in this book of actions taken by the U.S. government, educational institutions, health officials, Big Pharma, rich corporate elitists, and the Matrix media that make up and/or funded by the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex.
I have to mention this in my review for those that do not know… COVID-19 is treatable.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans needlessly died so that unproven, experimental “vaccines” could be pushed on the world’s population. This universal vaccination policy, its goal being a shot in every arm, is a giant cash cow for those that stand to profit. They will stop at nothing to protect their investment, including driving up death counts by prohibiting treatment, censoring free speech and legitimate scientific studies, blocking court orders, and attempting to crush anyone that stands in their way.
I consider The Courage to Face COVID-19 a history book. I believe that history will show that these doctors are the heroes of the COVID-era due to the countless lives they saved. The lives of mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, and family members whose lives mean everything to the people that love them. And, these same people were left for dead by their government, whose very existence is to protect its citizens.
Having read many books about the pandemic, I was hesitant to read another. However, I am very glad I did and was extremely impressed by this book. Overall, this book is well-written, easy to read, and hard to put down. John Leake does a great job of telling this story. It is not just another COVID book. I consider this book a must-read and highly recommend it.

With Covid issues being encrusted with so many lies, this book keeps it straight and honest. The style is easy and hot too complicated. As you read the pages, you will be amazed at the level of deceit that people in higher ranks sink to. You will also see an incredible callossed disregard for humanity that caused thousands of preventable deaths. Never forget a tragedy or it will happen again.

This book has opened my eyes further to what I already knew to be happening. From the start of the pandemic I was always asking "Well what are they treating it with" like I knew there couldn't be a cure, but surely there was treatments to help! Turns out, there was.. it was crazy that it took me until Dr McCullough appeared on JRE to realise there were people out there trying to help and not just pushing untested vaccines. The only downside to this book is that I had to keep taking breaks because I got so angry and upset with how the people with the treatments were being censored. Crazy times we're living through.

This book is a good companion to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s book, "The Real Anthony Fauci." I bought a copy when I had the opportunity to hear Dr. Peter McCullough speak at a local event. What a pleasure to hear this intelligent, humble man speak. The co-author of his book, also a Dallasite, John Leake, weaves the tale of the suppression of early Covid-19 treatment into a hard-to-put-down book. Countless times during the reading of this book I asked myself, "How could this happen?" How could effective treatments which made use of long-used medicines with proven efficacy be essentially called "quack" treatments? Dr. McCullough referred to it as "medical nihilism" and that's exactly what it is. Medical nihilism came at great cost to the American people who suffered needlessly, languished in hospitals, and in many cases, died. They died isolated from family and were refused life-saving treatments. On page 257 of the book, Leake says that "approximately 70% of the nation's Covid-19 fatalities could have been prevented. Just before Christmas 2021, that came to about 610,000 preventable deaths." There's no other way to frame that other than unbelievable. This book is a must-read for all interested in the crimes committed by the Bio-Pharmaceutical Complex, the cozy relationship Bill Gates has with pharma companies, universities, and the media, and more. Personal stories are told throughout the book as well which are poignant and at times, tragic.

An excellent book covering the early stages of the Covid 19 pandemic and attempts by many doctors in particular Dr Peter McCullough to administer early legally available treatments of hydrochloroquine and ivermectin to the sick before vaccines became available and then finding themselves thwarted by the authorities and maligned by the legacy media as quacks and spreaders of misinformation.
Many of these doctors have had their credentials stripped and reputations rubbished.
The question is why were these cheap and universally available and effective treatments blocked?
The book implies in my opinion correctly that big pharma from a business standpoint wanted a free path to their coming experimental mRNA vaccines so that all would think there was no other choice and they would gain a windfall in profits.
We subsequently have seen at great cost to the vaccinated and which is ongoing,much higher than expected heart issues and strokes as these vaccines were never truly tested as previous vaccines were.

This book chronicles the doctors who tried to save people early in in the pandemic by offering early treatment to "stop the surge" to the hospitals [sic, see what I did there? deliberate]. Yes this means Ivermectine, Hydroxychroloquine and even iodine nasal sprays.
I do not care if you are pro-vax or anti-vax. I think this book is a must-read to hear a point of view that is not publicized in normal media. And we should be asking why it is not reported. This book is well referenced (24 pages of references) and my independent internet searching seems to confirm what is written. I am not sure I believe everything written, but it might be because I am scared to.

I’ve read quite a few books about the pandemic lately. Severe as this flu was, it was exaggerated in its deadliness. Yes, it was deadly for the elderly and for those with weakened immune systems, but what about the rest of us? The world became polarized, economies, and schools were brought to a damaging halt. This book is well-written and thought provoking. I’m thankful for books like this, to hopefully help open up some people’s eyes.

“It seemed to me that, while children and teenagers should be taught to develop a good sense of prudence, it was a moral catastrophe to condition them to be afraid all the time, for by far the most important virtue—the foundation of all others—is courage. ‘Courage, mankind’s finest possession,’ as the Spartan poet Tyrtaeus called it, is what enables us to do the right thing, to face danger, and to enjoy life. People who live in fear are miserable. As Shakespeare put it in the mouth of Julius Caesar, ‘Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once.’ How, I wondered, would the constant conditioning to be afraid affect the development of our young people?”
Hydroxychloroquine
“Research teams in China were reporting favorable results from treating Covid patients with hydroxychloroquine—a drug that had been FDA-approved since 1955 for malaria prophylaxis, as well as for the treatment of lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. In India, the state medical councils recommended that front line medical workers take the drug as prophylaxis.”
“The academic medical community's response was conspicuously tepid, perhaps even hostile. Given the direness of the situation facing mankind, one might have expected at least an openness to Professor Raoult’s results. The psychiatrist and author, Dr. Norman Doidge, pointed out that the response was a conspicuous example of ‘unwishful thinking.’ Normal people with no unstated agenda could only wish for a cheap generic drug with an excellent safety profile that could save millions of lives. Conversely, those guilty of unwishful thinking dismissed hydroxychloroquine’s potential benefit even before it had been examined.”
“Mainstream media reporting suggested that no one in America’s vast complex of university medical centers and public health agencies had heard about the potential value of hydroxychloroquine until March 19, but this can’t be true. Among researchers all over the world, hydroxychloroquine was known as one of the most useful drugs ever formulated. Its natural ancestor, quinine, was discovered by the Quechua people of Peru, who ground the bark of the cinchona tree into powder and mixed it with sweetened water as a tonic against diarrhea and malaria. A Jesuit apothecary in Lima named Agostina Salumbrino (1564-1642) observed the Quechua using it.”
“As for the safety profile of hydroxychloroquine: The drug had been FDA-approved since 1955 and was well tolerated by people of all ages, including pregnant women and nursing mothers. Because it had been around for so long, its patent had expired. That, and the fact that it’s easy to manufacture made it very cheap.”
Even if he had discovered the cure for cancer
“Long before COVID-19 arrived, I’d joked with friends that if the ever boasting and self-promoting President Trump discovered the cure for cancer, his detractors would rather forgo the treatment than acknowledge he’d done something of value for humanity. It’s probably an inevitable outcome of America’s two-party system that any president may become the object of hyperbolic loathing. In the nineties, Republicans obsessed about President Clinton’s faults, real and perceived. In 2003, the columnist and psychiatrist Charles Krauthammer coined the expression Bush Derangement Syndrome as ‘the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of George W. Bush.’ During the presidency of Donald J. Trump this syndrome became so virulent that it created a strangely binary posture in public affairs. If Trump expressed even mild enthusiasm for a policy, person, or thing, his opposition automatically rejected it. To be sure, Trump often threw gasoline on the fire with his vices, his bombastic personal style, and occasional buffoonery. The qualities that had once been viewed as showman’s schtick were widely deemed unacceptable in a US President. The court jester had become king, and it drove the lords and ladies at court mad.”
But, but what about the hydroxychloroquine shortages?
“Another big lie frequently told in the press was that ‘Trump’s touting’ of hydroxychloroquine was hindering lupus and rheumatoid arthritis patients from getting their prescriptions filled. The generic drug is easy to manufacture, and production could have easily been ramped up. Moreover, in late March, the White House Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy (OTMP) acquired 29 million tablets of hydroxychloroquine for the U.S. stockpile. If there was indeed a supply chain problem, it was created by meddling officers at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the FDA who obstructed the national stockpile from being distributed to pharmacies.”
The Global Predators

When COVID-19 arrived, Dr. Breggin and his wife Ginger were unusually prepared to take on what they would call the ‘Global Predators,’ having researched 20 books and 60 scientific papers examining corruption in the scientific, medical, and psychiatric establishments, and how their corruption extended into federal institutions such as the NIH, FDA, and DOJ. Equipped with this experience and expertise, the Breggins quickly recognized that SARS-CoV-2 was made in a lab and that the international policy response was being dictated by the same network of predatory special interests that created the monster. They documented each day’s events and communicated with other researchers who were also observing and analyzing the story as it unfolded in real time. In August 2020 they began writing their book ‘COVID-19 and the Global Predators: We Are The Prey’, a masterpiece of exhaustive, investigative reporting about every aspect of the man-made disaster. The book meticulously dissects the ten-year plan leading up to COVID-19 involving Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum, Anthony Fauci, Tedros Ghebreyesus of the World Health Organization, and many other powerful forces, including the pharmaceutical and banking industries.”
“The Gates and Fauci partnership—along with their ally the Wellcome Trust—controls somewhere around 57% of global biomedical research funding. The Gates Foundation also wields vast influence within the mass media. On August 21, 2020, the Columbia Journalism Review published a long, meticulous report titled ‘Journalism’s Gates keepers.’ The reporter, Tim Schwab, found $250 million of Gates Foundation grants to radio and television newsrooms (including $17.5 million to NPR alone) newspapers, journalism organizations, and advertising firms that create content. Viral disease progression is less dramatic and far more a matter of probability than the progression to death caused by severe trauma. Nevertheless, in the case of COVID-19, it quickly became apparent that the probability of severe disease in certain high risk groups is far higher than the risk of adverse effects from taking hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin, ivermectin, high dose aspirin, and prednisone. As I watched research appear and disappear during Covid. My first thought was why is this happening. I read about the success of hydroxychloroquine and then heard the nay sayers. It didn’t make sense. This was followed by the same with Ivermectin. I took the J&J because it was older technology but ended up with nosebleeds. My physician wouldn’t believe me it was the vax. Family members laughed at me and called me a conspiracy theorist because I believed it was orchestrated by big Pharma. It turns out it was worse than I imagined. Thank goodness this book spells out what really happened and who benefited

Dr. McCullough is a hero. He literally gave up his hard earned, high-level positions in hospitals and universities to fight the medical injustice that was, and still is, killing people. If you value the health and welfare of yourself and your loved ones, read this book, and by all means check the references.

It's fitting that the deep dive into the willful incompetence at the heart of America's COVID-19 response focuses largely on the pharmaceutical industry: You'll feel you've been seriously Red-pilled by the end of the journey. Both enlightening and maddening in equal doses, this book is required reading regardless of where you stand on the vaccine/pandemic debate.

It seems apparent that there are many people responsible for what has happened around the world over the last two years. Denying people the ‘right to try’ led to many avoidable deaths. I am thankful for the brave men and women who have fought hard and are sharing their stories of their fight to keep people out of hospitals by providing early treatment alternatives.
