A good introduction to the profession without being too basic that I didn’t learn anything. I earmarked a few different pages to reference later as I went along… Some aspects and wording choices definitely gave me pause, but overall a pretty solid read on music therapy (and using music therapeutically).

Having slightly dabbled in music in my youth, the depth and breadth of Ms. Hoffer's knowledge of music and its part in the world is amazing. I wish I could have partied with her in my younger years. If music has played an important role in your life, you will appreciate this book. I found myself with a highlighter putting a yellow mark through all of my favorite songs, artists, and bands.
