WOW! I enjoy reading each one of Katie Dowe stories they are unique and amazing ! They are full of romance and chemistry which is sizzling hot with passion and the characters are always awesome, and their passion just burns up the pages with chemistry that's scorching. The ladies are independent but lovable and men will make you want to melt. This series always gives you such a pleasurable experience that you will definitely enjoy reading them all. They are so believable and captivating that you will want to read them more than once. This is a great love affair that makes you happy for the couple you are reading about. I really enjoyed reading this series it's written with such extraordinary imagination that makes them a pleasurable and beautiful experience to read. If I could I would give them ten stars because they are for sure worth more than five stars.
I got so wrapped up in this story. I loved that Sarah knew what her children needed. Her son Cole was a stubborn arrogant man and her assistant whom she considered a daughter was a head strong outspoken woman. Sarah saw that they reminded her of her and her husband’s relationship. As Sarah said, she wasn’t about playing the “death card “ to get Cole and Salina together, and play it she did! It brought a tear to my eye when Sarah passed. I was surprised by the twist. I’m happy for the HEA in this book. The only thing that stood out to me was how Salina would call Cole “darling “ so often. Being a black woman, I’ve never called any of my boyfriends or my husband for that matter “darling”. No one in my family either uses the term. Just my opinion. Otherwise great story.
Great reading this book had me in stitches. Salina is my type of woman, stick no shot, from no man. Sarah loves Salina, and her plotting was very, brave and successful. Then you got Michelle did not know what man she wants. Cole confused from day one,but I knew he likes,Salina but she was to tough for him. He had to tread carefully, because he wanted to please his Mother. Then you got Trey was all over the place, then he fell in love after one night of passion.
I am in Europe on vacation, I am supposed to give the reading a break?! no such luck!! lol Who would think that a stern, uncompromising man like Cole could have a sense of humor?! Well, a happy Cole is really a funny man, his banter with his wife is absolutely hilarious, and amazing… their passion is off the charts. Sarah, Cole’s mother saw beyond their animosity towards each other that could lay a passion that resembled hers and her late husband… and she was so right . They are a powerhouse !! Trey and his unexpected love ( no spoiler) add to the story. Loved it!!
I enjoyed the story line and the characters. Please get an editor. I tired of having to backtrack in my reading to insert a needed word to make a complete thought. Trey was a lawyer at a law firm so later in the story the author referred to his accounting firm. Please be consistent or explain changes. The rating could have been five stars but after so many books I an concerned that this still seems to be a problem.
5 stars because I really enjoyed the roller coaster ride that was Cole and Salina. The characters were well developed and well rounded. Even though it was an arranged marriage basically, they fell in love, after Cole’s mom,Sarah, passed away. Did she have a 6th sense or a magic ball to know that would fall in love? In the end, they were a great family, happy and in love and had a bundle of love named Ian Charles.
I loved the mom and how she saw the couples connection from the beginning. I did not enjoy the part with the brother and his later wife; it made me uncomfortable and felt added in for drama that the book did not need and it would not have been something I would have been comfortable with I do not know that people change that much but it made for an interesting read.
This particular book is interesting and different I love the storyline and I love the characters but the author did something a little bit different than maybe what she’s done and all the other books in the series so far with a similar plot it’s just what happened towards the end of the book was unexpected which actually makes it really interesting
I enjoyed reading the love story of Cole and Selina. They hatred for each other turns into true love. The book contains intrigue, drama, betrayal, determination, persistence, heartbreak, hope, Faith, and finding love in unusual circumstances. I will be recommending this novel to everyone I know!!!
Another good book by Katie Dowe. Cole and Salina’s relationship was quite passionate, before and after they fell in love. I loved the banter between them and I appreciated how Ms. Dowe weaved the ex and brother into the story.
Cole's mother loved him so much that she asked him and Salina to get married before she passed on because she believed they were meant for each other momma knows best.
I loved the way the author depicted each character, there was drama, anger and dysfunctional relationships, illness and deaths. Everyone had a compelling story. I especially loved the HEA!!! Looking forward to more book by this author.
This was a pretty good book, Cole and Salina started out hating each other but with the help of Cole’s dying mother Sarah and her plot to get them together before she died, they ended up finding their happily ever after with each other.
Is this author black? And if not, do they even interact with actual black women? I don’t understand the micro aggressive, sometimes racist way that they sometimes depicts black women.
Not all black people/women’s favorite food is fried chicken and potatoes salad. (A common thing that seems to occur in these books).
Not all black women are, as insinuated in this book “controlling, possessive and militant.” I rolled my eyes at that. Believe it or not, we come in all forms, personality wise and everything, just like white women (shocker, I know!)
My point is if you’re going to write about black women, at least know who you’re writing instead of lame caricatures of women that you’ve probably seen on movies, tv shows or “reality” tv shows, because we all know Hollywood doesn’t always showcase black women in a good light, either.
Love truly can lead to more love and this young couple learns just date from fulfilling a death wish for Cole's Mom, one that leads them to a fruitful life together down the line.
There was a lot of fire and emotion in the beginning and I thought I knew what was going to happen. I was pleased when the plot shifted. It’s a good read.
