this was so so good, the pacing, the storyline, the characters, *chefs kiss*
watching Henry's development and his whole character arc was incredible, his journey from guy who took his mother for granted and didn't even know she was terminally sick to the guy who literally gave up his own lifespan and did everything to help her live the life she always wanted-
I LOVED Jeremy, that man is an icon and his relationship with his dad was so interesting. I did not like his father to begin with, he was painted as this villan who only wanted his son for his commercial value but guess it's easy to judge when you only look at one side of the relationship, it was only later on that I really started to appreciate his character, he's just another single parent trying his best, he wants what every parent wants, the best for his son. ALSO THE FACT HIS MUM GAVE HER LIFESPAN TO HIM :'(((
in fact all of the parental relationships were so good, which sounds stupid when I say it seeing as this whole comic is about parental relationships.
Henry and Olivia's dynamic was so funny and the whole role reversal really put parenthood into perspective, her life before was so abysmal, she was trying her best but life never worked out for her. even her marriage crumbled after her husband was screwed over, I feel like the whole divorce arc and the whole thing with his dad was so well handled and I'm glad he's better and helping others now,,
sarah was an icon and it was so funny how she was low key introduced as a villan only to become an essential member of the cast,, her relationship with henry and her becoming a child protection officer just felt so right. I do feel bad she still lost him tho despite his reincarnation
sally and the blonde guy who's name escapes me were also so so funny, and when they ended up together after Sally pining for Henry for chapters was such a funny twist. I think the thing I liked the most about this whole story was the character dynamics and how three dimensional they all felt.
Henrys death was heart wrenching despite the fact we all knew it was gonna happen,, and the funky ghost lifespan dude was a mixture of very entertaining and very annoying,
most of all I loved the way each and every character seemed to discover something about themselves and the ones around them,, this was such a good story I'm gonna be thinking about it for a while..
I'm literally sat here still bawling as I type this with a box of tissues next to me, I was not expecting this one to rip me apart like that and tbh I just wanna go hug my mum :')
