Two restaurant critics learn their opposing tastes might make for a five-star relationship in the next foodie romantic comedy from the author of Sadie on a Plate.

By day, Julie Zimmerman works as an executive assistant. After hours, she’s @JulieZeeEatsNYC, a social media restaurant reviewer with over fifty thousand followers. As much as she loves her self-employed side gig, what Julie really wants is to be a critic at a major newspaper, like the New York Scroll. The only thing worse than the Scroll’s rejection of her application is the fact that smarmy, social-media-averse society boy Bennett Richard Macalester Wright snagged her dream job.

While at the Central Park Food Festival, Julie confronts the annoyingly handsome Bennett about his outdated opinions on social media and posts the resulting video footage. Julie's follower count soars—and so does the Scroll’s. Julie and Bennett grudgingly agree to partner up for a few reviews to further their buzz. Online buzz, obviously.

Over tapas, burgers, and more, Julie and Bennett connect over their shared love of food. But when the competitive fire between them turns extra spicy, they'll have to decide how much heat their relationship can take.

This book has truly mouth watering, incredibly tempting food recipes literally make your stomachs grumble a little louder ( don’t you try to read this book hiding under your PowerPoint files during your meeting! The sounds your stomach make may catch you off guard! Being there, done that! ) and entertaining enemies to lovers story between food blogger and food critic ( great conflict between social media’s influencing power versus old school newspaper reporting) !

This book is exceptional and it’s a dream come true for foodies who love NYC a lot like me!

Last year when I had a short business trip to NYC, I realized so many favorite local restaurants of mine were closed and people in the restaurant business financially struggled more than I imagined during dark pandemic era. Even my favorite Pret a manger chains were shut down! So I have to clap the author to show her respect to the business and her honest dedication by recommending so many ethnic tastes in this book. I also loved realistic approach to social media: pros and cons, growing business potentials, emphasizing the marketing the product you truly believe in!
Only bad thing about the book is the heroine hated wine! ( she’s missing a lot! )

I loved the creative plot line. The love story between Julie and Bennett Richard Macalester Wright ( wow! That long line is truly intimidating) is lighthearted. There was not much obstacle between them. Julie believes the power of social media, working so hard to stay alive in the middle of jungle as Bennett comes from wealthy family, hasn’t worked so hard to get his position at New York Scroll ( thanks to her mommy’s connections)! They are socially and financially coming from different backgrounds. The love for the food they have and their undeniable physical attraction unite them.

Bennett might be rich boy acting like pretentious douche in the beginning but he shows his true colors when two of them force you work together to attract more reviewers!
He’s comic books, quirky video games fan. And he’s also undeniably handsome.

But I think the food descriptions and honest approach to social media, mansplaining at the work place a little overshadowed the romance parts! So I cut one star from my final grading.

I still seriously enjoy this book! I even loved it more than Sadie on a plate ( she makes a cameo in this book)! I highly recommend this book to lighthearted, sweet, swoon romance lovers!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest opinions.

Calling all foodies! 📣 🌯🍔🍕
There’s something irresistible about a rom-com that talks about endless plates and courses of food. So….of course I HAD to request an ARC of this one.
This books tackles lots of topics like sexism, classism and even has a couple of badass POC characters.
The descriptions of food were literally mouth-watering and it made me itch to try some different and unique foods I’ve never had before!
My biggest beef (hah.) was the main character, Julie. I thought she was wildly petty, immature and judgmental and not someone I felt I could relate to almost at all.
My favorite characters were Jada and Alice which were ironically not main characters but Julie’s two friends. I probably would have liked this book quite a bit more had this book been more focused on their stories and lives and Julie being a supporting character.
Although it was still a fun story, (especially for anyone who loves food) Julie’s character really put a damper on it in my opinion.
A big thank you to Berkley Books and NetGalley for providing me with a complimentary advanced copy of this book. This book will be published on February 21, 2023. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I'm so hungry now. But a nutella sandwich just isn't going to cut it after all the fabulous food descriptions in this fun romance novel. I liked the cast of characters and was entertained by their often funny interactions. This is definitely lighthearted so adjust you expectations accordingly and you will enjoy this enemies to lovers story for true foodies.

Last year I read Sadie on a Plate, which was Amanda Elliot’s debut novel, and I was so impressed. I was excited to jump into her sophomore novel, Best Served Hot when given the chance. I love books with food in them, and this was another great read by this author.

Julie is a food critic/influencer who would love to make it her full time job. She has aspirations to do just that. She applies to be a critic for ‘The Scroll’. It would be the dream for her. But Bennett Richard Macalester Wright is the guy that gets the job over her. The guy with connections, of course. When she runs into Bennett at a food festival, she confronts him.

Julie may know who Bennett is, but Bennett doesn’t know who Julie is. Their banter was great and I loved watching them get to know each other. It’s very much more of a rivals turned friends to lovers story. I loved seeing them try new things together and even though this wasn’t super heavy on the romance, I enjoyed watching them start to fall. The conflict was fairly predictable, but I was happy it was resolved quickly and enjoyed the end of the book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Pub for this earc

Unfortunately this book was not for me.

I’ll probably should start with the fact that Julie was one of the most ridiculous characters I’ve read in a while. She was incredibly prejudiced and simple judgmental to almost every other characters. The things she thought and said were just awful.

Second thing that made be absolutely annoyed, was the amount of time “all men are complete garbage” was mention. Between white men and rich men and every man in every business are sexist idiots, you may as well just close the book before you even started.

Next up is of course the fact that Julie is Jewish but that was never “part of her life” and the comment about how one of the things she baked “tasted like matza” and that was worse that even “fasting she had to do for Jewish holidays”. I don’t know about you but it sounded incredibly antisemitism to me. Another example how Jews are NEVER represented the right way.

And, considering, this is a romance book, I should mentioned that there was no romance. I didn’t feel any connection between Julie and Bennett. But the fact that she called their falling out a “break up” after one kiss and one night was just simply ridiculous. How can two people break up in their were not in a relationship?

Overall, this is exactly the kind of book I’m trying to avoid.

Julie Zimmerman has a job as an executive assistant and works for a demanding employer. But that’s not her main thing in life. She is a social media influencer and as a restaurant reviewer she has a very good following. Julie is good at what she does, but she never quite got over losing a job she really wanted, which was for a major newspaper as a restaurant critic. It still hurts that someone who actually hates social media, Bennett Richard Macalester Wright, is the one who got the job.

When Julie runs into Bennett at a food festival, they definitely rub each other the wrong way. In fact, they have an argument, and with his opinions being so different than hers, she ends up posting that on her social media platform. As a result of the popularity of that post, the pair reluctantly decide to partner together for a few reviews. This will benefit both of them, and both their subscriber bases should increase even more.

However, they are much like oil and water, and this hate to love romance really takes off. Different experiences in different restaurants slowly begin to work to changing their opinions of each other. Meanwhile, Julie experiences some issues at work, and I do love how the author touched on classism in this book. This additional factor made an already good story even better. In fact, making it a fabulous story. Not only were Julie and Bennett were well-rounded characters, but the story itself touched on other important things all while it became clear that the two were truly meant for one another. I enjoyed watching their relationship involved, as well as Julie’s relationships with her good friends.

Many thanks to Berkley Books and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Loved this fun foodie romance! Guaranteed to make you hungry 😋 Julie is a food influencer with a large following on Instagram. but her ultimate dream is to work as a food critic at a major newspaper. when she finds out some guy name Bennett got her dream job she is not happy. She is even less happy when she finds out Bennett got his job because his mom knows the editor. When Bennett and Julie cross paths at a food festival she gives him a piece of her mind. The video of Julie telling Bennett off goes viral and that leads to both of their social media accounts growing. They decide to take advantage of their current popularity and do some food reviews together, both of them sharing their own opinions. Over delicious food things start to heat up between the two of them, although it is a slow burn. loved all the food descriptions in this book, made me realize I eat very plainly. Also enjoy the humor, there were so many laugh out loud moments. Julie and Bennett were great characters and I was rooting for them the entire time. Really loved all the secondary characters and I am keeping fingers crossed for a book featuring Emerson Lee finding her one true love. Anna Caputa did a brilliant job with the audiobook narration, bringing this scrumptious story to life.

Hi! I wrote it and I think it's really good!

A bit of info about the book: while Sadie on a Plate was more of a rom-com/WF hybrid, this one fits more solidly into the rom-com/romance space. I'll update with more info closer to pub date.

And some minor Sadie spoilers: if you want to know whether you might want to go hit that preorder button ;)

Given the conversation around anti-semitism as of late, I really wanted to read a book by a Jewish author with Jewish representation - who better than Amanda Elliot?! I loved Amanda’s adult debut, Sadie on a Plate and had eagerly been awaiting #BestServedHot since it was teased at the end of Sadie.

A food influencer (@JulieZeeEatsNYC) and a professional critic - what could go wrong? I loved the NYC setting, I loved Julie & every minute of this book - including some amazing cameos! This was slightly heavier on the romance than Sadie, which of course is a win for me!

Another ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ winner from Elliot!!

This one releases in February so be sure to get it on your radar. If you’ve yet to read Sadie on a Plate - read that now to hold you over!

A gentle reminder that it’s always cool to condemn antisemitism, to amplify Jewish authors and creators & to support their work - not just when it’s a media hot topic.

Thank you to Berkley Romance for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I get having a chip on your shoulder about privilege and equality. I do. It's a thing.

BUT if literally every single conversation revolves around it, and you assume (before having any reason to believe it) that every situation is an example of it, I'm out.

I'm a woman in a HEAVILY male dominated industry. Are there a lot of white men? Sure are. Do I start every conversation I ever have by assuming they are going to treat me badly because I am a woman? Nope. I let them do it first. Do they? Some do. Some don't.

The heroine in this book is so focused on social issues that this book stopped being about anything else. Add in that Julie is petty, and immature and, well, awful and this one went nowhere fast for me.

I'm unable to handle being preached at and am not able to recommend this title.

This was really good! I liked the fact that while the romance was a big part of the story, it wasn’t the only focus. Julie was a fantastic character and I loved seeing how much effort she put into her role as an online food influencer. I thought that Bennett and Julie were great together and I really liked the cast of secondary characters. I am so glad that I decided to pick up this enemies-to-lovers romance.

Julie works as an executive assistant during the day but her passion is the work she does as a food influencer. When someone else gets the food critic job at the newspaper, she is disappointed. It would have been her dream job with health insurance and an expense account. When she gets attention by posting an argument between herself and the man who got the job, Bennett, they decide to partner up to do a few joint reviews.

I really liked the romance and thought that Julie and Bennett had great chemistry together. I really appreciated the fact that this book was about much more than that. I really liked learning about all of the things that Julie did in order to fill her role as a food influencer. I also liked the fact that Julie had some career issues to deal with, not to mention her boss’s sometimes clueless and entitled daughter to deal with. Honestly, some of my favorite parts of the book involved Emerson Leigh.

I listened to the audiobook and thought that Anna Caputo did a fantastic job with the narration. I thought that the voices that she used for both the male and female characters were all very well done. I felt like she was able to add just the right amount of emotion into her reading. She has a very pleasant voice that I found easy to listen to for hours at a time. I am certain that her narration added to my overall enjoyment of this story.

I would recommend this book to others. I thought that this was a wonderful romance with a lot of depth and great characters. I definitely want to read more of this author’s work very soon.

I received a review copy of this book from Berkley Publishing Group and Penguin Random House Audio.

In Amanda Elliot's follow-up to Sadie on a Plate , the heat gets turned up when two restaurant critics team up.⁣

Julie loves being a restaurant reviewer on social media. She works as an executive assistant in order to support her side gig as @JulieZeeEatsNYC, and her more than 50,000 followers love her food photos and videos.

What Julie wants more than anything is an actual job as a restaurant reviewer for a newspaper, and her dream job is to work at the New York Scroll . But when the Scroll doesn’t even contact her after receiving her application, and they hire Bennett Wright (whose mom is friends with the paper’s CEO) instead, she’s angry and hurt.⁣

While at a food festival in Central Park, Julie runs into Bennett, and their encounter devolves into Julie confronting him for his snobby attitude toward social media and those who use it for restaurant/food reviews. Her video footage of their confrontation sees her follower count jump dramatically—and it brings more traffic to the Scroll 's social media, too.⁣

Seeing benefit for both of them, Bennett proposes that they collaborate. They’ll both visit the same restaurants at the same time and contrast their approaches and opinions. And after some initial hijinks, they start to enjoy each other’s company, and they learn from each other.⁣ Of course, the more they collaborate, the more the chemistry intensifies. Is this a reservation for love or disaster?⁣

I love books about food and restaurants, so this was right up my alley. I loved Sadie on a Plate (and Sadie makes a cameo in this book), and this is fun, steamy, and romantic. I enjoyed the discussion about social media and the battle of print vs. internet, too.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Berkley for the advance copy! The book publishes 2/21/2023!⁣

This seems to be the month for foodie romance for me, and I can't seem to get enough! I got my fill of delicious, mouth watering food descriptions, and was living it up vicariously in the NYC backdrop, which I loved.

BEST SERVED HOT features a slow burn enemies to lovers trope, as Julie, a popular food influencer, dreams of working as a food critic at a newspaper. Tension boils over as Julie crosses paths with Bennett, the rival who has filled the position of her dream job, and I adored their chemistry.

There were also a diverse cast of characters that I enjoyed even as much as the MCs, and loved their interactions. I guarantee that you will want to have reading snacks handy while reading because of the yummy foods mentioned.

best served hot is a professional rivals to lovers romance between two food critics; julie, a social media reviewer and bennett, a critic for a newspaper. bennett has just gotten julie’s dream job at the scroll, and when she happens to run into him at a food festival, she is determined to let him know everything wrong with his privileged position that got him the job and also the way he reviews food. video footage from the confrontation is posted and goes viral, which leads them to team up on new restaurant reviews to push both of their careers.

right off the bat, i want to say that while i enjoyed my time reading this book, i do not think it will be for everyone. our main character, julie, is quick-tempered in the way that sometimes she speaks before she thinks, and i can see where people wouldn’t enjoy that about her. for me, yes she was chaotic and messy, but she did try to do right by people and when she took the time to sit with her actions, she was able to recognize her missteps. just from the setup and the situational humor in the story, i could 100% see this as a movie, my jaw was hitting the floor at some of the silly things that happen. the banter and natural comfortable vibe between julie and bennett in the initial stages of their acquaintance/friendship situation made me want to root for them. bennett was a sweet cinnamon roll man, so i loved learning more about him throughout the story. also the descriptions of food had my mouth watering. overall i thought this was solid and cute! i'm not sure if it’ll be super memorable down the line, but i enjoyed it!

This was pretty bad. Didn't like much of it. There were a ton of tornados in my area on Monday which resulted in a blackout. Which resulted in me coming to the library, off-the clock, to charge all my stuff up. I picked this off the shelf randomly and... I wouldn't have read it if I wasn't a captive audience.

All that aside: not a good book. I have not encountered one influencer protagonist I've liked. Ever. And ole girl here didn't break that trend. She's obnoxious, clumsy, and super caught-up on her identity as a millennial social media maven. The inciting incident where she throws a fit in public and goes viral was just so embarrassing.

Her love interest, however, is worse. Because there's nothing to him. He's a richboy food reviewer who got the protagonist's dream job. And he hates social media. And he likes fantasy fiction. But I dunno. I think he comes off as a jumble of 'dreamy' characteristics, not an actual character. I didn't feel anything about their brief (and stupid) third arc breakup. And I somehow felt even less when the got back together for no real reason.

This is the kind of book I'm talking about when I rail against 2020's contemporary romance. It's just sort of a laundry list of popular romance scenarios (enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, etc.) that it feels like it was written by SEO, not an author.

A romantic delicacy: this slow-burn enemies to lovers rom-com serves an entertaining tale of two food critics crossing paths as tension boils, spice rises, and chemistry cooks between them. Despite the predictability, delicious descriptions and a constant tensity makes it a quick read that holds attention. Also, the exploration of social media impact as well as passion-driven careers is a strong aspect.

Julie reviews restaurant on her Instagram account @JulieZeeEatsNYC and has over 50k followers, but what she wants more than anything is to review restaurants for a big newspaper and get paid doing so. However, when she doesn’t even get the opportunity to interview at her dream job and finds out the position went to Bennett Wright, a well-connected wealthy white male, she is hurt. When the two come face-to-face at Central Park’s food festival, a video of their exchange goes viral and as a result, the two decide to team up to for a segment comparing their reactions on different foods. While Julie initially hates Bennett and is envious of his career, will the forced proximity change her opinion of him?

This was a lighthearted read that centered around all things food. While I am not a “foodie,” I loved the detailed descriptions of various dishes, the food-related adventures and how the two MCs bonded over their love food despite neither of them being able to cook. The author also dived into the theme of social class and the opportunities that come when you are born into a world of connections versus making a name for yourself on your own, which I found very timely. If you read Sadie on a Plate, Sadie does make a guest appearance, which I found fun :)

Amanda Elliot is back with another interconnected but stand-alone read that is a must if you like foodie fiction combined with a romance. I will say the romance aspect was fairly light but it is there, it’s just more about Julie’s career and personal journey. She’s a food influencer but still has to work at her day job and dreams of the day she can follow her passion full time. The food descriptions were just delectable, everything sounded amazing and the author painted such a pretty picture of everything, seriously mouthwatering. Overall a really fun read especially if you like food, romance and a NYC setting.

This book made me super hungry with all the mentions of amazing food.

Enemies to lovers? Sign me up. I loved this story of a food influencer getting paired up with a classic food critic to fuel the competition between their two parts of the food industry.

My biggest complaints were the pacing and the main character’s inability to see her own flaws and how she was kind of rude sometimes.

Overall I enjoyed it!

After having fell in love with Sadie on a Plate, I had very high hopes for this one. Amanda Elliot, out author, knows her food, that's for sure. Foodies would love this as much as her first. And anyone who fell in love with Sadie, will love the references to Chef Supreme, and Wander, and meeting her in this installment about two warring food reviewers, one from the New York Scroll, and the other a emerging popular social media reviewer. Well as the reviewer here, its not that it was terrible. It was kind of fun - if only I didn't tremendously dislike the main character. And dislike her I did. I still rooted for her. She just wasn't my cup of tea. Three stars and onto the next.

*disclaimer this is my opinion I talk about some touchy topics so please interact respectfully*

Sigh, this book reminds me of why I don't like slow burns or single-POV books. I had to force myself to finish this and I was so happy when I got to the last page.

So many things went wrong with this book, making it a boring read. I'll just start by listing them.

First Julie absolutely hates Bennet a random guy she has never met and has never done anything to her directly because he got the job she wanted. Like cmon... I'm not saying that the way that Bennet got the job was fair, but to purposely harass him at a food festival when he doesn't even know you??? It gave weird like I'm silently judging her. Like why are you assuming at least give him a chance to be an asshole first? She's so immature and petty which made for a frustrating read.

Next were the excessive paragraphs describing food outnumbering the actual romance. Like wtf, I had to read 1,000 paragraphs describing shit that I don't care about. It was cute in the beginning but after a while, I was so over her diving into what a fucking BLT sandwich tastes like. Like, let's move on where is the romance?

Then it was the parts of the book that tried to touch on classism and privilege. Which I felt was not done well. Julie yells at Bennett in the beginning basically calling him white and privileged. Which he is... but let's not forget that Julie is white (or at least white presenting) herself. It just felt like Julie was calling him out but not even recognizing that she has her own privileges, financially, educationally, and in so many other ways. (It gave Dan from Gossip Girl being mad at Sabrina, Blair, and the rest for being rich kids or whatever when his Dad could afford to live in a loft in NY and has never had to worry about going hungry.) What I'm saying is that she shouldn't have been making those comments constantly without checking herself first.

The other thing was Emerson Leigh and all of the other rich people. They were all so annoying and ignorant. Basically, there were no likable characters in this Julie was annoying, Bennet had no personality, Emerson Leigh was ignorant, and the rest were just there.

The biggest disappointment however was the romance... it was a slow burn AND single POV. A recipe for disaster. The fact that I knew more about the restaurants than Bennet was such a shame. For example why does Bennett actually like Julie? I guess we'll never know. It was more of a tell tell tell book than a show show show. The romance was definitely a subplot in this. So don't read it thinking it's going to be book of the year.

The only thing I think was done decently was the plot with Alice and Kelsey about sexism in the workplace. I'd much rather read a story on those two and their journey than Julie's annoying monologues.

Overall I wouldn't really recommend this book. It started off okay in the beginning and only got worse. There are much better books out there that tackle classism and privilege in an effective way. If you wanna read 300 pages of a character describing food and talking in her head then go ahead and read this. This is also probably the worst enemies to lovers (if you can even call it that) I've ever read

Bye!

audiobook

here is a non-exhaustive list of things i found infuriating about this book:

1. julie is selfish, oblivious, judgemental, constantly playing the victim-card, bad friend, and bad person. other people's successes are all hits against her because she isn't as successful as them and she isnt as rich as them and all people with more privilege than her are all horrible people. she judges EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this book even though she doesn't know any of them and assumes they are all awful because they are in a higher tax bracket than her. if her life is so hard she can maybe save some money by not eating out for literally every meal and move to a city with a lower cost of living, but nope, everyone else is the problem not her

2. bennet is just boring. no personality other than rich white man who writes about food.

3. the romance is nowhere to be found. they kiss once after antagonizing each other the whole book and she calls it a break up like let's be real with each other.

4. millennial influencers are one of my least favorite genres of people. and not to be THAT person, does 50k followers really make you much of an influencer? the people that get kicked out night one of the bachelor have more followers

5. don't get me started on the over the top sexism in this book. im a computer scientist and yeah some guys are a-holes but like EVERY SINGLE man on one team of programmers being overtly sexist and misogynist is unrealistic and just annoying to read. they sound like villains from an 80s movie. also, the author and julie don't understand programming which was a bit annoying but that's more of a me problem. also julie was a dick about listening to alice's problems. that's literally her only friend in the world, you can listen when she is trying to talk to you.

6. the classism was also just 80s movie villain, all rich people are terrible, they don't know what student loan debt is bs. is emerson leigh oblivious and a bit annoying? yes. but she is actively trying to be nice to everyone (including julie who is constantly thinking and saying terrible things about emerson) and is just trying to live her life. all because she has daddy's money doesn't make her a bad person and all because julie doesn't have daddy's money doesn't make her a victim

7. I'm a picky eater so the food descriptions kind of just sounded icky to me.

I don't remember exactly what inspired me to want to read Best Served Hot by Amanda Elliot, but whatever it was I'm glad I did! This is a great book for the foodies out there and it is filled with so many mouthwatering descriptions of food that I found myself wishing I were in the story with the characters myself just so I could try everything. While most storylines like this are told from the perspectives of both the man and the woman, the entirety of this book is told from Julie's POV, and I actually rather loved that. Although this route means we didn't get to know Bennett and his personality quite as much as we could have, I still think I got a great idea of who he was as a person, and it really didn't bother me. Plus, I adored Julie and all of her idiosyncrasies so there's that!

I was also a huge fan of the audiobook, and having Anna Caputo as the narrator was absolutely perfect. I loved her voice and thought her pacing was on point, and I could definitely see her as our MC Julie. The only thing that left me wanting was a very small thing, and that was her mispronunciation of Guy Fieri's last name. If you are going to narrate a novel that mentions a bunch of chefs, shouldn't you know how to pronounce ALL of their names? Just my 2 cents and it is really amazing how many people pronounce his name incorrectly. I also loved the romance in the novel, and it had just enough spice without being too much for me. It was nice that it really doesn't come until towards the end as well and that made it feel like it wasn't too rushed. I would love to see this onscreen, and I will most certainly be going back to Elliot's adult debut now!

4.5 STARS | What a REMARKABLE and TASTY rom-com this book is! I knew I was going to enjoy this! If you are a food lover, this book is for you! The amount of food description made me hungry and drool at the same time! Plus this book has quite a diverse cast of characters too! Julie Zimmerman works as an assistant for a billionaire. During her free time, she’s JulieZeeEatsNYC, an online restaurant reviewer with more than thousands of followers. As much as she loves her own hobby, what she really wants is to be a critic at the New York Scroll. After her application was rejected, Bennett Richard Macalester Wright snags her dream job. After Julie confronts Bennett at a food festival about his outdated opinions on social media, she post the argument video and becomes viral! Her follower count soars, and as well does the Scroll’s. Julie and Bennett then agree to partner up to do a few reviews to further their online buzz. Over many delicious foods, they connect and simple fall into a relationship, a relationship they’ll have to decide how much heat they can take! A hilarious enemies-to-lovers romance that is fast-paced and truly addictive! A great book! Thank you again to Kaye Publicity for sending me this book!

DNF @ 22%
generally i try to make it through the first 100 pages of a book before i decide if i’m going to quit but i just could not with this one. the main character is so self absorbed and arrogant and full of hatred for one man just because he got the job she wanted. she’s so annoying that i couldn’t even push through. i wanted to DNF @ 14% with the mention of “reverse racism” but i gave it a chance and it stayed on a downhill slope. maybe the romance is great and worth it to some people but i can’t stand a self absorbed character who when given a wonderful opportunity is still treating this guy like her enemy. also who tf posts a video on their public platform of an argument you had just because you are mad at him for getting “your dream job”. also calling him pretentious for his job but complaining because you wanted that job is crazy because you would also be the “pretentious” food critic if you had gotten the job instead of him.

Pub: 2/21/2023 -- out today!

Blurb: Julie is a side-gig food influencer who dreams of making the big leagues one day. After she's rejected for a coveted position at the NY Scroll, the guy who got the job (Bennett) becomes enemy #1! After a run-in between Julie and Bennett goes viral, the newspaper pairs them up to work together. Will these two strong-willed foodies be able to work together? Or perhaps there's something a bit tastier in store? 😉

👉🏻Bullet Point Review:
• So.Much.Delicious.Food. 🤤
• Another diverse cast
• Enemies-to-Lovers
• Workplace Romance
• Great witty banter
• Clean / closed-door
• Standalone, but set in the same world as Sadie
• I recommend reading Sadie first 🥚

Another enjoyable read from Amanda Elliot! It's official... this author is now on my auto-buy list!🔥 Definitely recommend!

What I appreciate most about Elliot's novels is that they both deal with important themes like workplace discrimination and sexism. I love a romcom with a message 👏🏻
