Hermione had a plan, but that plan was all blasted to hell. She did not plan to become best friends with Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley. She didn’t plan to be treated differently for being a muggleborn and the obstacles that came along with it. She didn’t plan to fight in a wizarding war where she broke the rules at every turn just to survive. She never planned to survive said war, battered and broken into pieces, just to become a public figure that the wizarding world adored and followed at every turn. She certainly didn’t plan to go down a path that led her to becoming a single mother.

I really enjoyed the lightness of this fanfiction. It is sweet, funny, and heartwarming, and it was exactly what I was looking for. It’s cute and fluffy, and I just loved seeing the bunch of Slytherin raising a baby together. 🥰

The plot was a little weak though, it was very character-driven, and all about the group raising Lyra. There is no big mystery or goal to achieve, besides surviving the day by day, but it was still very enjoyable and I would recommend it if you are looking for something light, cute, and easy to read.

“I’m not a good man Hermione…” Draco swallowed, fighting his own urges as he continued to get lost in her eyes. “I’m proud and temperamental. I’m flawed and have scars that run so deep that even I don’t know how to find the root of it.”
“We all have scars.”
“But I’m also selfish… and right now, I want to be incredibly selfish with you.”

Draco was okay at first, I am used to him having a stronger personality and presence in general in the fanfictions I read, but I don’t know if it’s because I got used to this tamer, happier version of him, or if it’s because he changed during the story, but I had no more issue with his character at the end of the book.

His romance with Hermione was good and well-written, and I like that there were some obstacles on their path (who doesn’t enjoy a little bit of drama every once in a while), but I found that it took a long while for them to finally decide to move forward and give it a try. For the first part of the story they seemed to be just content to be friends, raising Lyra together, and that’s it. We could see that they both felt a little something more for the other, but they did nothing about it for so long!

Unlike Harry and Ron, Theo was smart. He was ridiculously smart and Hermione found herself enthralled in intellectual conversations and debates with the slytherin.

Theo is the loyal, steady, and awesome best friend in this story. He always has Hermione’s back, and I adored how he was so understanding of her choices and took the time to talk or leave her her space instead of pushing and getting mad. He is just so sweet and funny, he was the perfect BFF.

“Don’t worry,” Pansy smiled. “If anyone asks about her father, I will just say she is our magical love child. That we are so in love that our magics granted us a gift; a beautiful baby girl.”

Pansy was a nice secondary character, but she also kept a bit of her Slytherin’s younger years snark and she has a tendency to bite when cornered or hurt. Still, I liked seeing her and Hermione interact, and this story needed another woman to counterbalance the three men already involved with Lyra.

One thing that I find regrettable, is how the author broached the subject of infertility, but then it got “resolved” pretty easily and was not mentioned anymore. I would say that overall, all the problems were easily resolved and everything was pretty straightforward.

July 2024: umm 2.5 ⭐️; You know that feeling when you re-read one of your favourite fics and it turns out it wasn’t actually THAT good? Well this is my first time, since i’m not usually one to re-read much.

This was a fic i read when i first started getting into Dramione and i genuinely considered it a favourite. Well, not anymore…

Don’t get me wrong i still love the characters, their dynamics with each other, and the storyline is interesting but,,, the writing,,, could use A LOT of work. and that’s saying it nicely.

I really wished the author would go through it all and edit it since it has so much potential but as is? wattpad level writing. yikes. sorry not sorry.

I started reading this because of the vibes.and by vibes I mean theo. then I got bored, the narration was off, the character flat, there was no agst, no banter, no character building, no one was proactive. To tell you the truth I DNFit when to reddit spoiled myself " who the father was" and went to AO3 looking for another fic to cleanse my brain. because that send me straight to a book slump of boredom

EEEEK!!! Draco in this had me GIGGLING. Wowza. Daddy.

I appreciate the flashbacks that helped this feel a little less rushed to provide context. There wasn’t a ton of plot per se, but I found myself not minding it- this was a story of learning to trust, creating a family, and choosing your partner. The writing got better as the story went on.

Draco’s tender love for Hermione & Lyra was EVERYTHINGGGG and more. Ugh. I just love that Lyra was his from the moment they met & it was so precious.

Narcissa & Lucius in this were so precious, nana and papa- and their little star. Just the most tender!!!

The dynamic between the friends / chosen family was tender.

Draco’s proposal with naming a star and giving her the map?!?! BYE!!!!! I was unwell.

Hermione making Lana jealous was hilarious.

The Viktor/Oliver storyline was interesting but I’m so glad it wasn’t dramatic bc I would have been maaaad. This was as HEA as you can get and I was here for it.

Theo was hilarious.

Lyra is darling.

Draco is daddy- literally.

So happy for pansy & Blaise at the end.

The fact that this book was only 400 pages but felt so much longer should be statement enough as to how I felt about it. It was so dragged and oh my god the one thing I absolutely hate is repetitions and this book was so repetitive I wanted to DNF it at so many points my patience was really tested. You might wonder oh what kind of repetition well lack of vocabulary for instance the word chuckled is used soooooo many times along with the word giggled I never wanna see these two words again. Oh and how could I forgot all the many many times that Hermione is referred to as the brightest witch of her age like bro a little is fine but this was way too many it got so frustrating. Not only that but it's like the author tried to write a wholesome book but you're just writing the same thing over and over and over again and it got really tiring I had to literally skim over pages cuz god I can't read all that. The writing was overall poor. It didn't start out this bad tbh like I actually really liked it in the beginning but then the writing just kept getting worse not to mention the absolute absence of a concrete plot like why did the story have absolutely no depth whatsoever it was so disappointing. I also really did not like the dynamic between draco and Hermione like I hate to say this but the way they were written made them sort of cringe 😭 and oh dear was i cringing. I skimmed over most of their moments later cuz I just could not bear reading them so yeah this book started out great but it went downhill way too fast. Like yk when you read the synopsis of the book you obviously expect that when you read the actual thing it'll be more than just that because that's how literally every book is 😭😭 and yet this one wasn't and it was so underwhelming 😭 I really did not like it and I really wanted to. Like when I started this book I saw the word count and I was like oh this is a short one it'll be a quick read but well I wasn't expecting it to be so boring that I would have to force myself to finish just for the sake of finishing it. It just felt like one of those books that 50 percent through felt like the perfect time to end the book and yet I couldn't understand what the author had yet to write about or where they were going with the plot and then finishing the rest of the 50 percent I realized that they had nothing to write about and they were going nowhere with the plot. Bas awein itni lambi ki hui thi😭 this entire book is just me questioning everything and just going in my head: hain? Awein? Wth?
The 2.5 stars are literally just because of my love for the found family trope because I did genuinely love that but even that couldn't excuse the poor writing sorry y'all 😭

This was a re-read for me. I absolutely love the dynamic between the Snake Pit and Hermione and especially Lyra.
Amazing fanfic, the Dramione romance is perfect.

I just didn't understand why Lyra's father was such a secret.

If you like fluff that includes some Dramione, and the Slytherins then read this.

This wasn’t a terrible fanfic, but I will say it didn’t read like a book to me. The pacing was quick, yet it never ended. The story focused heavily on dialogue, and there was no world building. I felt like I was reading a script.

I will comment on the excessive use of an exclamation point. Theo was screaming through this fic.

The perspective was off. It didn’t focus on Hermione or Draco. It was like we saw snapshots of the characters’ conversations. Theo felt more like the main character than anyone else.

There was no tension or risk. Only when Hermione stabbed herself with a cursed object. Not even the paternity of Lyra held my attention. It was dragged out too much.

Ron was an unnecessary addition. He was in about two chapters with the purpose of yelling at Hermione. Then was never spoken of again.

There wasn’t much magic. Only to levitate objects or when Hermione blocked a curse from Ron.

Now to get into my opinion on this version of Dramione, they fell flat. Hermione’s whole persona in this fanfic was that she made bad choices and hid from her Slytherin friends. She lost her mind for a bit and ended up pregnant. There was hardly anything else to her.

Draco was basically a wall. The only time he seemed to be a proactive character was when he was adopting Lyra. The rest of the book he was just there loving Hermione in secret. Then they got together and again they fell flat.

Where is the witty banter?

This fanfic gave them all boring jobs we hardly saw them at. It had them sitting on the grass/ground reading a third of the time. If not then they were simply conversing.

I can’t with this fic. Hermione is such an irrational bitch. Draco sends out all the signs and she acts like she doesn’t understand them. The purposeful ignorance in this fic was so frustrating. I didn’t care about Hermione or Draco or Lyra, because the angst was painful- not in a good way- in a way that made me want to smack everyone upside the head. Stopped caring about the characters the moment they had “that argument”… then the whole dagger thing- ugh. One painful star.

A Hermione e o Theo bffs; a Hermione a ser mãe solteira e a viver na mansão do Theo; o Draco, o Blaise e a Pansy a mudarem-se para lá, para ajudarem a criar a Lyra; eles todos cadelinhos da Hermione, mas principalmente da Lyra; o Draco mais protetivo ainda, porque tem uma crush na Hermione e a Lyra lhe chama pai; a Narcissa e o Lucius mega preciosos.

Infelizmente, a parte que deu complexidade à história, foi também a parte que mais me irritou.
A fic fica com um tom mais sério quando eles começam a falar sobre o momento em que a Hermione deu ghost durante um ano e depois voltou com uma filha nos braços, como se nada fosse. Sem explicações ou pedidos de desculpa.
Sim, ela teve todo um esgotamento mental, ficou cray cray, e depois foi arranjar ajuda e teve um bebé durante esse processo. Ela estava na merda e não sabia como processar a dor, e por isso afastou-se das pessoas que lhe querem bem, para ir sofrer sozinha. I get it.
O que eu também entendo, é o ressentimento dos amigos dela, quando ela os abandonou sem dizer nada, e depôs quando voltou, recusou-se a falar do assunto. Ela teve a audácia de ficar chateada, porque eles estavam magoados com ela e lhe disseram isso na cara. LOOOOL

MAS o que me chateou mesmo, foi a relação dela e do Draco. Eles estavam quase quase a namorar, e de repente toda a gente se chateou. Então ya, bye bye relationship. Mas depois, quando todos pediram desculpas e voltaram a ser bffs, a Hermione continuou a dar ghost ao Draco e a dizer que a relação deles não ia voltar a ser o que era. BUT THEN (!) this fucking moron teve a lata de ficar chateada quando o Draco não fazia um move nela, para eles se voltarem a reconciliar. BROA, YOU DO IT THEN! Wtf is wrong with this people……ffs

Claro que depois tudo acabou bem e toda a gente viveu feliz para sempre e são todos muitos fofos e o meu coração derreteu muitas vezes. Mas aquela parte no meio da fic…..ERROU!

If you ever need a happy dramione this one is golden. (spoilers) even though I wish that Lyra was Draco's and not Victor's... this book shows how you can end up in an unfortunate circumstance and come out choosing a family that will love you till the end. I think living in Nott Manor with all the Slytherins would be an absolute blast. It was fun to see Theo, Draco, Blaise, and Pansy all act as parents to Hermione's daughter. This book just makes you feel good and has such a happy ending. My only thing is "little dragon" is said waaaay too much during the last couple of chapters. I always enjoy the stories where Hermione connects with the Syltherins post-war... and some Ron bashing and jealous Draco never ever hurts.

FAV PART - probably when Lyra calls Draco "dad" for the first time... melts my heart and of course Theo being mad makes me giggle (end spoilers).

Overall, such a feel-good book

Cute moments with the little one were lovely. Enjoyed Theo the most. Appreciated the Lucius/Narcissa acceptance.

I love me a single mom or dad fic. Hermione's strong relationship with the Slytherins was seen through the banter, tests of loyalty and ease of life at Nott manor, but the foundation of how it got to that was lacking even though flashback parts regarding that were mentioned. I started skimming at times especially when Draco and Hermione danced around each other. Would have liked "miscommunication" and "slow-burn" tags.

Loving the vibes of this book with Draco and Hermione being parents to Lyra Malfoy she is so adorable in this book and love that she has everyone putty in there hands like her grandpa, grandma, uncles, aunties, godmother and godfather and love that Harry, ginny, pants, Theo show up in this book and I’m mostly reading this because of Lyra and dramione moments and loving this writers writing so much and just loving the soft, fluffy and hilarious moments in this book

definetely one of my favorite dramione fanfics
it contained every trope i love like found family, single parent, ‘he’s always been in love with her’, ron bashing, narcissa and lucius are suportive etc etc
every single character was so unique and essential to the plot and i was always entertained because the story didn’t revolve only on the main couple
this was one of my favorite dracos i ever read since he was so caring. there was still that slytherin flame but his rude personality was left behind

This is a fluffy feel good fic that’s both cute and fun. Lyra is adorable and it’s a joy watching her grow. The Slytherin crew is as funny as ever (had me cackling). Hermione has a fantastic support system including Lucissa. And that was the best proposal ever, major swooning.

3.5 stars! This story was so cute and so funny! I feel like some parts were dragged out a lot. I cried in a couple parts. The dynamics in each relationship were so good! Pansys storyline broke my heart, but then I was so happy for her at the end! Draco as a girl dad is UNMATCHED! Loved that! The story got boring at times, and then the burn was sooooooo slow at first just for it to be draggy at the end!

Empecé a leer este fanfic pensando que iba a ser tierno y super light y de la nada PUM, sale un plot twist que me dejó con terriblemente enganchada. Amé este fic, fue mucho más de lo que esperaba, les juro que me quedé hasta las 3 de la mañana leyendo, y tenía clases al día siguiente.
