So this was it. My first Anthology. I did the math and it came out with an avg. rating of 3.7 — so four stars it is.

As a lover of short stories and novellas I know that it’s possible to write great romance on less than a hundred pages. And at least half of the stories where really enjoyable. So all in all this is a nice summer/beach/vacay read. I listed the reviews in order of how much (or little) I liked them.

🛳 BOOK FOUR: ALL HANDS ON DECK

4.5**** stars

First, I loved the small glimpse into Colby’s life and struggles as a "lifestyle content creator“.

Anyhow… So! Childhood best friends/neighbours sons Colby and Mateo are dragged along with the parents on a merry two-family vacation. Both didn’t have a clue the other family would be joining them on the cruise. The parents then drop a heavy bombshell that leaves the boys emotional and head spinning and in each others company.

What follows are sweet admissions and an even sweeter romance. I freaking loved this one *swoon. The characters were adorable, their story enjoyably emotional and well written. I could’ve stayed with them a whole lot longer.

🛳 BOOK SEVEN: MY (UN) LUCKY CHARM

4.5**** stars

A grumpy/sunshine pairing is off to have a good time.

“Hey, Siri,” she said. “Play ‘Since You’ve Been Gone.’”

While Cahill nurses his wounds from a recent breakup, Yoshi just indulges in a well earned break from sport/work. Both men meet as total strangers at an airport, board the same plane to eventually end up on the same cruise ship. Their story was total fun, sexy, sweet and so adorable.

Last night was the single most incredible experience of my life. I felt alive, reminding me of what I’d been missing the past few years.

I loved everything about it. Except what was that at the end? Did this one actually ended on some kind of cliffhanger?? wtf?? *lmao

And now for that epic slip up by the author… I was about to read All The White Lies We Tell after that! But what the hell, man?? Thanks for the major spoiler!! *grumpy face -- And such an unnecessary one at that. Only phrased a little bit different and we would’ve been cool! But… I will probably pick up the book anyway because I really liked Garry Micheal’s writing style and wanna know if I still enjoy it in a full-length novel.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK THREE: THE DEVIL WEARS PINK

4.25**** stars

Nothing said “gay vacation” more than hard bodies with massive packages parading by you all day long!

This was so much fun. A young hot twink on a gay cruise ship cons older men with sad stories or his hot body into buying him drinks and food - without them getting much in return. Until one guy gets the hang of his trickery and starts blowing all his advances on these clueless men.

The story was hilarious and a delight to read. My only niggle is because the very fun prelude of trickery took up so much pages the developing romance fell a bit flat for me and feels a bit rushed at the end. But William and Austin were a hell of an entertaining couple.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK ONE: WHAT HAPPENS IN NIAGARA FALLS

4.25**** stars

I adored and enjoyed this one very much. Two co-workers get bunked up on a company outing on a small cruise.

“When you didn’t come back to the room, I thought you’d hooked up with that girl,” … “The girl who was so hammered …?”

“I don’t know about you,” he dropped the timbre of his voice. “But I generally like the people I take to bed to be enthusiastic about it and be sober enough to know what they’re doing. I like loud, enthusiastic consent, especially if it means the neighbors learn my name. Y’know?”

How Alden and Nick found their way closer to each other was believable, not overdone and freaking cute. I loved their excursion day out at the Niagara Falls. That was totally sweet and gave me nice vacay feelings.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK FIVE: HELP ME, ZADDY

4**** stars

I was a total goner for this story as soon as sweet rockstar boy Night barges into bulky Daddy Karl’s suite, tunes his guitar and sings "Heaven“ by Bryan Adams for him. Fuck, that was so sweet.

I must say I was fascinated by that whole discipline school thingy Karl is a professor at. So I think I'll check out Xavier's School of Discipline to read Xavier & Finn’s story. We saw a lot of them in the background in this short.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK SIX: TRICKED AT SEA

3.5**** stars

Awwww, that was such a fluffy and sweet treat. A hot and adoring best friends to lovers when Trick (Patrick) joins his best friend Liam on this cruise after he broke off a long-term relationship - the cruise was meant to be an anniversary vacation. Now, both being single, they have time off together sharing a stateroom on the ship, ofc with only one bed. Turns out they always had a crush on each other and fit together perfectly well.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK NINE: MAKING WAVES

3*** stars

This was mostly boring, but hot. Okay, and also a little sweet. That’s why it’s enough for three stars. Basically the plot is pretty similar to "Tricked at Sea“. Only difference is, they don’t start as friends. They are part of the same friends circle. And as no one else of their friends is able to take time off, it’s Hunter who’s joining Penn on this cruise vacation that was meant to be an anniversary trip with his now ex-boyfriend. They get to know each other closer, one room, one bed having the best time… and falling. The End is really fucking sweet.

“Fuck, baby, this week is the best thing that's ever happened to me. It gave me you!”

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK TWO: TIL DOCK DO US PART

3*** stars

I was on the verge of tears with this one. Really.

It was my most anticipated short in this book and I fucking loved these three men from the bottom of my heart. But what the heck was that story telling?? The story line was a real good an intriguing one but for what the author wanted, the 85 pages she got weren’t nearly enough. This would have been an awesome plot for a full-length novel.

But this. This didn’t work. Not like this. First, the prologue. I was so confused and a little put off by two guys (Xander and Pierson) having kinky-knife-play-sex out of nowhere without me having one clue what they are to each other. Then one year later they meet Avery on that cruise ship. It started very promising and sweet and then it’s getting hot between all three of them and then (I almost couldn’t believe it) the chapter ends and it’s the next morning after "mind-blowing sex“. It was their first time together and we readers were not allowed to join them. I mean, WHO DOES THAT??? I feel so betrayed. But that’s not all. Then suddenly, they realize that they all are it for each other - what they were practically looking for their whole life. Great. And I thought: huh??? When did they made that connection?? Probably the first time they had sex and we weren’t invited. -- Happy Ending. Period.

This was a fuck up. I am so disappointed but I give three stars anyway bc the story idea was an awesome one and the author was able to make me fall in love with all three of them - and all three of them together. -- besides that gruesome story telling.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

🛳 BOOK EIGHT: THE BUTLER

2** stars

Nope, nope, nope. This was not for me. Everything about this story felt wrong to me.

This is a billionaire Daddy/boy romance. I had a lot of trouble with the language. I didn’t like how the author permanently used the term "dude“ and "stud“. The dirty talk was rather degrading and other than that there was a lot of musing about other hot guys and talk about ex-boyfriends. I was also a bit annoyed about all the money talk and the extensive descriptions of all the fancy rich people stuff.

The Daddy character Lincoln also tended to feel, think and talk about his boys as his property. I don’t know if that’s a thing in Daddy-kink but I sure didn’t like it. So all in all, this was not my cuppa. At all.

⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜⏝⏜

Hope this may help you to decide which of the stories you want to try out. ♡

This is the perfect anthology to read over the summer months! It makes me sad I never got to go on my Disney cruise when COVID hit. One day I'll get to go on a cruise... Probably when I'm old and retired and my son isn't living at home anymore haha.

I definitely recommend purchasing this one because the stories are great and they vary in lengths. A lot of these authors were new to me and now I'm eagerly going to check out their backlists! I'm so glad they all got together to put this out for us.

(Also, I'm gunna need more Yoshi, Garry!)

This is such a great series. Probably one of the best that I’ve read. It has a really great variety of authors, styles and tropes. Insta-love, kink, musicians, daddies, light, dark, it’s really got it all. It was a mix of authors I’m familiar with and some I wasn’t, so I’m looking forward to adding a few new books to my TBR.

This was such a perfect summer read. I suggest you grab your kindle, a sun hat, and your favourite chair and head outside, and dig into this one.

4.5 sunny stars

All Hands on Deck by Jeris Jean

Two best friends have lost touch until their parents collude to bring the families together for a cruise. When a bombshell is dropped Mateo and Colby find themselves thrown together for the week. Where they might just find it isn’t only the weather that’s hot.

I really enjoy Jeris’ writing style, and definitely enjoyed this fun and sexy story of these two reconnecting on the Caribbean seas. Mateo is really super sweet. He’s also steady and patient. Colby is a bit destructive and wild. But they say opposites attract, so here’s to some smooth sailing.

< ARC provided by Neon Rainbow and this is my honest review >

What Happens in Niagara Falls by LD Blakeley

A playful and seductive story of two co-workers who seem like they would be complete opposites, and yet, thanks to a room assignment mishap, they may find that they end up more than just colleagues.

Two really likable guys, one a little grumpy, the other a little sunshiny, but both are really sweet. And it was cute and fun as they explored the sites and the cruise ship, flirting and getting to know one another.

Definitely a great 1st story in this anthology

Til Dock Do Us Part by Michaela Cole

This starts dark and edgy, and a little heart pumping. But this MMM romance is also funny and sweet. A rockstar, his grumpy bodyguard, and a heartbroken cutey find themselves entangled on a cruise.

Together they find that sometimes three’s company and you just have to live life on your own terms.

The Devil Wears Pink by Matthew Dante

This was an unexpected twist on a meet-cute. I pretty much hung on every word in order to find out where this story was going to take us. It was definitely a ride, but it didn’t disappoint in the end. The tension was high, but so was the romance!

Help Me, Zaddy by S. Legend

This was my first introduction to S. Legend. I really liked this story. I love Daddy/Dom stories, particularly ones that focus on caring and discipline. I mean, spanking, hello! I also enjoyed the quirky meet-cute these two had. The story was sweet, fun, and hot in equal measure.

My only niggle is that it played off another book, so there were times I wasn’t sure what they were referring to. It still works on its own, but it took me out of the story at times as I tried to figure some things out.

Tricked at Sea by Duckie Mack

Totally on point for a Duckie Mack story. Completely heartwarming, romantic, and swoon-worthy. I loved how much you could feel the history and love between these two. BFFs to lovers with a dose of forced proximity to make you smile and feel good.

My (Un)Lucky Charm by Garry Michael

This was hot, like straight out of the gate hot! It’s got some heartbreak, adventure (and misadventure), and a lot of love. These two are really fun, and I love how they both comfort the other at various times. Also, great to see some Asian rep. Love that. Need more of that.

The Butler by Michael Robert

Mmm, well that was steamy and delicious. And surprisingly felt like a full novel. It had all the components. Backstory, the get to know you, the angst, the declaration of love. So good. Such a great employee/boss, billionaire/regular guy story.

Making Waves by Harper Robson

You may think you know each other, but spending a week on a cruise, sharing a room and a bed will test that theory. A kinda-friends to lovers, trust fund baby/regular guy story that will make you smile and will warm your heart.

Wow! I loved every single story I read. I'm impressed with how these authors managed to create so catchy stories in such a limited space. Because yes the book as a book is big but each story separately is not.

Anyway.

What happens in Niagara falls - is a story of two colleagues that join the same cruise. One is reserved, the other always in the mood for fun. Such an interesting combination here..

Till dock do us part - is a story that KILLED ME. The knife play and the steam? I'm obsessed. Xander, Piers and Avery are no joke guys 🔥 I LOVED how this cruise brought them all together.

The devil wears pink - is a story of two people who liked to piss off each other and ended up falling in love. I loved this.

All hands on deck - is a story of two childhood friends that meet each other again after years while both are on family vacation. I really liked this story.

Help me, zaddy - this story was very interesting. The two characters are so different. One is a twink and the other is a bossy man that works in a discipline school for men. Do you see where this is going? 😏

Tricked at sea - THIS STORY!! I love friends to lovers. I loved how Liam and Trick went to that cruise as best friends but they ended up fucking each other.

My (un) lucky charm - This story started with an almost handjob. Like..fuck yeah. Yoshi decided to go to a cruise just to dodge his mother's efforts to set him on a date. Lol.
In this trip he meets Cahill. And let me tell you.. I Loved the openness between them. One was like "I like head" and the other was "Well I like sucking cock." My.Fucking.God.

The butler -Michael gets me every time with these sex scenes. I seriously can't with him. 🙈 His story is well crafted and so passionate that had me squirming. The two characters are Link and Dek. The first is a rich mega producer of Hollywood and the second one is his butler.

“You can't fuck the crew. You can't fuck the boss” WELL GUESS WHAT 😈

Making waves - is a story of two not-so friends that decide to join together a cruise. Their chemistry was UNBELIEVABLE!

Again. I loved all the stories. The authors did an amazing job with this anthology and I can't praise this book enough!!

This was a seriously fantastic stories by a diverse group of talented authors. Each author brought a different version of a cruise romance to the table. Each story was fantastic in its own rights, and I struggle to give each of them their own separate star. With that being said I’m going to put an average of 5 stars, only one or two I would have given a 4/4.5 with the majority being a 5.
Each of the stories were sooo freakin good! Rockstars, forced proximity, co-workers, age-gap, boss/employee, polyamory, childhood friends to lovers and even con artist! Please don’t ask me to pick a favorite because each author brought a great story forth and I loved them all!!

This is an enjoyable collection of stories from a number of different authors. There’s a lovely range of tropes, heat levels, and premises here, all grouped around the central theme, and for me that was a large part of the appeal. Each story offers different characters and reading experiences, and each has something special of its own to recommend it. I liked them all, but my favorites were Jeris Jean’s “All Hands on Deck” —friends to lovers is my jam, and Mateo is the kind of character who steals your heart— and “Tricked at Sea” by Duckie Mack, which gave me all the feels. Overall, I’d highly recommend this anthology.

So far, I've only read Jeris Jean's story, All Hands On Deck, and I LOVED it! My only grievance is that I wanted more! Matteo & Colby, their parents, the whole 'thing' - it was fun, hot, funny, I really enjoyed it and the writing. I'm sure to dive into the other stories as well, and have no doubt that I'll enjoy them just as much!

This whole collection was such a blast. There's a wide variety in the stories from rock stars, to billionaires, con artists, Daddies, friends to lovers, enemies to lovers. Just everything you could want in a summer read. And each novella is a stand-alone, which makes it easy to read in short sessions. Perfect for a beach read, or reading by the pool.
Cruising offers a wide variety of heat and relationships but has plenty of steam and sweetness to go with it.

This is a review of All Hands on Deck by Jeris Jean from the Cruising Anthology. It is the story of two former best friends who realized they liked each other in high school but were afraid that they would lose their friendship if they told each other so once they graduated they only had contact twice in six years and avoided each other whenever they could. Mateo left home and became an up and coming lawyer at his firm. However, he is also a workacholic who hasn’t left any time for himself. Colby is a content creator on social media and has traveled the world filming himself and whatever the brands have sent him for his work and has created his own schedule. Their parents are next door neighbors and have convinced both men to join them on a Caribbean cruise and their shenanigans have them ending up sharing a cabin. Both of them were shocked and got over it in different ways, but as the days went on they found they enjoyed spending time together and rekindled their desire for each other, leading to some fun sexy times. When the cruise was coming to an end they had to decide if they were going to go their separate ways or find their HEA, which they did in a spectacular way. I really enjoyed this short story. The main characters were fun and interesting as they learned things about themselves that helped them change to become what each other needed. The setting of the cruise ship and ports also added to the plot and was an entertaining element. I also learned some interesting things involving their parents and imagining what was happening with them. All in all I highly recommend this story as it will give you several hours of reading pleasure and will leave you satisfied and wanting more from this author.

4.5 Stars Rounded Up.

I read the entire Cruising anthology and I absolutely loved it. This book has every kind of trope you can imagine: friends to lovers, strangers to lovers, age gaps, enemies/rivals to lovers, MMM, Daddy/boy, Rockstar/bodyguard -- even a conman and his mark. Of course, with an anthology, you find that there are some that don't really do it for you, but I found myself hooked even on the stories that I didn't care as much for.

I think my favorites were the Duckie Mack (which is who I got the ARC from), Jeris Jean, and Harper Robson. Harper Robson is a new to me author and I'm about to venture onto Amazon to check out their backlist. While these three were my favorites, I could probably rave about each of the stories in the novel.

Hell, there were a few that I wish we had more of - particularly the Garry Michael short My (Un) Lucky Charm. The way that book ended had me bated and wanting more of the story to see what happened AFTER everything.

The angst and steam levels varied from story to story, as did the POVs.

Honestly, this book has a little something for everyone and is just an amazing summer read. I highly recommend it!

This review is for the story All Hands on Deck by Jeris Jean. It was a really sweet second chance short story that was a pleasure to read. It was no angst and made for a great before bed read. I've enjoyed the few books I've read by this author, so I was excited to read it. With short stories it's hard to feel like you get the full character development and story line, but that wasn't the case this time.

I'm excited to read the other stories in this anthology.

MM Anthology is here to give your summer a slow simmer before turning up the spice and the heat. We have nine different stories that have something for everyone. I picked up this book having read two of the nine authors, but now I need to go and read more from the other seven. I won’t be running out of books to read any time soon. Grab this one to turn up the heat this weekend and sample the exotic locations and the best friends turned lovers or give Daddy a little love.

Kudos to author Jeris Jean who assembled this brilliant group of ultra-talented MM romance writers for one incredibly HOT summertime (or anytime, really!) anthology. This is the perfect, delicious summer read because you can sip on a little or savor as much as you want all at once. I was excited to first consume the stories by my one-click authors Jeris Jean, Garry Michael, and Michael Robert - whose exciting works I always adore and never disappoint - but was also pleased to discover new to me authors like Michaela Cole and Harper Robson. So glad I tucked this anthology with me on vacation!

Well done anthologies are such a treat for me and this collection got my long weekend off to a great start. I was a bit nervous but hopeful when starting these shorts as many were from authors I had yet to read. However, they represented a great cross-section within MM romance, with a wide range of tropes.

I loved the variety within each story and the entire cast of characters is great. Considering some of the tropes/ kinks are outside those I’d usually pick-up, I think it speaks volumes that I finished each story without hesitation and wouldn’t consider any of them below a 3-star rating for me. Better yet, I discovered a few new authors I’ll definitely be reading more from. If you enjoy fast, fun, and sometimes dirty shorts, Cruising is definitely worth the download.

Individual story rating and brief thoughts:

What Happens in Niagara Falls by L.D. Blakeley- 4 stars
This was a cute, easy workplace style romance. Things quickly came together in this relationship, but it flowed well and I enjoyed the characters and story.

Til Dock Do Us Part by Michaela Cole- 3.25 stars
There was a decent amount of steam in this MMM romance. I thought the plot of the story was interesting but I think the romance and relationship would have benefited from more time and development. Overall, a solid read.

The Devil Wears Pink by Matthew Dante- 3.5+ stars
This short had a really fun and original start that quickly had my full attention on this cute romance.

All Hands on Deck by Jeris Jean- 4.25 stars
This story had such a fun and different setup. I always enjoy second chance romances and this one was well done, especially for a shorter length.

Help Me, Zaddy by S. Legend- 3 stars
While this isn’t my trope of choice, the story flowed well.

Tricked at Sea by Duckie Mack- 4.25 stars
This was a fun spinoff from a series I’ve enjoyed from this author. I love friends to lovers romance, so I enjoyed this cute one between longtime friends.

My (Un) Lucky Charm by Garry Michael- 4.25 stars
This was a fun set-up for a cruise based romance. I enjoyed the characters, relationship, and writing, and would be happy to read more about the couple.

The Butler by Michael Robert- 4 stars
This short featured a trope I normally wouldn’t seek out and didn’t necessarily expect going in. Even so, I found I liked he characters, romance, and writing.

Making Waves by Harper Robson- 4.25 stars
I liked the setup to this frenemies romance and enjoyed the characters. A fun, fast read that was easy to get lost in.

This is the absolute perfect summer read with assorted stories from nine of today’s most prominent LGBTQ romance authors. There is something for every taste ranging from “friends to lovers” to a touch of light kink. It is also an excellent opportunity to sample the writings of these talented authors and choose your favorites. Personally, I cannot get enough of Matthew Dante, Duckie Mack and
Garry Michael.

What Happens in Niagra Falls by L.D. Blakeley is a cute summer read. Who wouldn't want to fall in love during a cruise? I thought this was funny, cute , detailed and really well written. Perfect for summer! 5 stars.

Till Dock do us part by Michaela Cole was not my cup of tea.. The story starts out with Pierson and Xander in a intimate scene. I wasn't prepared for there to be knife play in this, I really think that there should be a heads up about that. I don't particularly enjoy reading about knife play or dom/sub relationships. I had a difficult time finishing this one but pushed through. Overall 3.5.

The Devil Wears Pink by Matthew Dante was a bit of a miss for me. I didn't like how the story was written, or the characters to be honest. They were just one dimensional, the story did get better the more it went on but I am still not a fan.
Rating: 3.

All Hands On Deck by Jeris Jean has been my favorite so far. I loved the surprise trip both families surprised their sons with. And the poly relationship between both sets of parents. Something else I loved? The characters! I fell in love with Mateo and Colby, watching them come back together after 6 years apart was so sweet and spicy. This was really well written and all of the characters added something to the storyline. Plus it's a funny read as well.
5 out of 5

Help Me, Zaddy by S. Legend is a daddy/boy story. Now for me personally, I'm not a fan of that trope so I didn't really enjoy this one as much. But! I can acknowledge the fact that the characters and the story were really well written. So while this isn't my cup of tea it was still good. 3.5

Tricked At Sea by Duckie Mack had me smiling with only a couple pages. This story starts out with puppies being born. I mean... Who doesn't like puppies? Then! Then the main character listens to Crow's Nest. That's a reference to her Love Bank series. That just makes me happy seeing references like that.

I loved Trick and LeeLee, they were so cute and adorable. Not to mention they compliment each other so well, they just work good together. The overall story was excellent, the part where they got to hold a sloth made me want to "aww" out loud. Duckie knows how to make characters/stories that you can't help but fall in love with.
5 out of 5 stars!

My (Un) Lucky Charm by Garry Michael was a good premise but it fell flat for me. I understand that all of these are short stories, however, I think the characters in this were rushed. Them getting together was rushed. They met on a plane, then hung out on their cruise and then intimate scenes. I personally didn't enjoy this story I just couldn't get onboard with the characters. Rating: 3.

The Butler by Michael Robert was interesting.. This was another story I just couldn't get into. I think for people who love the daddy/boy trope and age gap would love this story, however, I am not a fan of the daddy/boy trope. That's just my preference. I think this was well written and you can tell there was a lot of thought put into this. It just wasn't for me, unfortunately. 3.5

Making Waves by Harper Robson was a wonderful way to end this great collection of summer stories! I loved how Penn slowly started to share his true self with Hunter. And I also loved how Hunter was so amazed by Penn, he was also supportive of Penn's idea to open "The Open Door". This story was cute, sweet, and had all the heat to add to the sizzling summer. A solid 5.

Overall, I loved some stories and I didn't love others. That's just how it goes sometimes but I still loved reading all of the different authors takes on summer cruise love stories. I highly recommend this anthology to anyone who wants an excellent read on a summer day.

*I received an early copy of this anthology and this is my honest review.*

These were fun short stories about men finding love while on some sort of cruise. Some of the stories I wish were longer and one actually might be getting a sequel! Here are some quick thoughts on each story:

What Happens in Niagra
This was a cute story about coworkers getting together. It featured the sunshine/grumpy trope and while it was kind of basic, it was a fun read.

Til Dock Do Us Part
My favorite one! It's an M/M/M story about a rockstar, his bodyguard/best friend, and a broken-hearted new guy hoping to get over his ex. I thought the dynamic was great and they all fit so well together. CW: knife play

The Devil Wears Pink
Con artist, age gap, and a revenge prank war. This was an entertaining one, even though I didn't really ship the couple.

All Hands on Deck
Former childhood friends to lovers. This was fun because there's a surprise featuring both character's parents. There's also a bit of second-chance romance and this was a quick and entertaining story.

Help Me Zaddy
I'm not a huge fan of daddy kink, but I do like a good Dom/sub relationship. I wish this one were longer, since it's hard to believe strangers could fall so fast and move in after a week, but I'll let it slide.

Tricked at Sea
Best friends to lovers and pretty cute. There wasn't much to this one and I would have liked a bit more content.

(Un)lucky Charm
Features an age gap and several shenanigans. I liked how the characters kept getting into messes and it left off with 'to be continued' so I look forward to more of the story.

The Butler
My least favorite for sure. I didn't like either character, but especially the billionaire. He was rude and petulant and referred to a former boyfriend as property. There was a bit of drama that got left to the side, I wanted to know about the hacker! The ending was unsatisfying and lame.

Making Waves
For characters that aren't quite enemies but definitely not friends, I thought they got together very quickly. I think more build up would have been nice.

My (Un) Lucky Charm

Awww Yoshi is here eeeek!!! I was waiting for his story since meeting him in All The White Lies We Tell (From The Ashes Book 2). He’s nineteenth, but don’t let that fool you, he’s very determined in what he wants and what he doesn't, happy, funny and with so much love to give, just what Cahill need. Cahill is older, 28, so this is Age Gap romance too (I totally love it), he need everything Yoshi has, so he need Yoshi in his live. Cahill needs to be more spontaneous, needs live more and being loved. Those first glances, those moments of flirtatiousness, made a beautiful love grow inside each one. The cruising experience is definitely “Yoshi and Cahill’s Epic Vacation”. They had so much fun and get to know each other in every way 🥵. Cahill is his lucky or (un) lucky charm? The only sad thing is that it leaves me wanting more and more of them. Hoping seeing then again in the future (fingers crossed 🤞🏻). My (Un)Lucky Charm is part of Cruising An M/M Anthology.

Like all anthology's we are not going to necessarily enjoy them all - I loved some stories, liked others and some were just ok :) BUT the ones I didn't love, someone else may do!!

I did find some new to me authors and will certainly be checking out some of the other stories they may have written.

I do have to admit, the idea of a cruise after so long does not appeal to me BUT they never did LOL - I'd love to see where the authors/creators take this is a 2nd anthology is completed.

This review is of the book as a whole. If you'd like to read my individual reviews for each story, you can find them on my Instagram @the_retro_reader.

Nine wonderful stories by nine amazingly talented authors makes for one of the best books I've read this year. This book has so much to offer its readers, ranging from friends to lovers to polyships to one bed and age gap. This book spans across so many tropes.

The book is brilliantly put together. The stories flow beautifully from one to the next, never missing a beat. Even though they all take place on different cruises. What makes this book amazing is that each author has their own unique style of writing and storytelling but they all work so wonderfully together.

If you only read one book this year make it this one. You get nine stories by nine amazing authors in one great book.

I need to book a cruise...

This was a really fun anthology. No real angst, a lot of steam and plenty of cruise ship fun. I met some new-to-me authors and became reacquainted with some faves. Michael Robert, Garry Michael (more Cahill and Yoshi please!!) and Jeris Jean never disappoint. I may have already acquired books from the authors I just met and cannot wait to dive in.
