On the outside, Norton has built a respectable life for himself. But on the inside, he harbours a terrible secret, an obsession to see his family line continue at all costs…
Stalking her was just the beginning.
Emory has already had to abandon one life to hide from a dangerous, obsessive man. Surely Norton is nothing like the terrifying villain from her past.
But when Norton’s desperate and depraved acts come to light, will Emory be able to forgive the man who has manipulated his way into her life… and her body?
This is a dark romance story, featuring content which may not suit all readers, or may be triggering. It is a standalone book, with HEA, and the characters will appear again in a future book, but will not be the focus of that book.
Completed duet - Book 2 - Nico's Mistake - available NOW
Mia Fury is the alter ego of an established PNR writer, who ventured into the darker waters, and decided to stay.
The Bennett brothers are her proudest creation to date, but keep an eye out for more, unrelated, books coming soon too. Dark, naughty, and steamy, are promised.
This was diff, guy owns a fertility clinic and replaces all the semen samples with his own. He can’t get it up for any woman so he’s gonna speed his seed this way… This bothered me. You read it right in the beginning. I was like ok this is kinda kinky .. I didn’t like that he seems to do this before the h but I was like well maybe no one has a successful pregnancy right? So it would only be the h if it happens…. So I kept reading….
The H is obsessive, sociopathic and stalkers her. I liked these thing and in general liked the Hs craziness. The h is basically starting over with a new identity after fleeing from her abusive x who almost killed her. The storyline I liked, the stalking- I liked, how obsessive H was- I liked.
Some stuff just didn’t flow, the writing was kinda off and I kinda just skipped through some sections. The rating is based off thst over all the story isn’t bad and I may have finished if this wasn’t said/happened
“So there’s my big secret. I’ve been trying to get alllll the women pregnant. Because even if I couldn’t get it up for a single one of them, I sure as hell wasn’t going to see my bloodline end with me.”
Yeah… and right before this the H states that his semen has been used 4 times, 2 unsuccessful and 2 SUCCESSFUL, 1 the baby is a year old and one CURRENTLY preg… so yeah I just couldn’t especially then when he says the above about “trying to get ALL the women pregnant”.
This doesn’t fly with me, I need my H to be only for my h. I mean if she’s kink? It’s his thing to want to keep his bloodline going? Fine. I can even get over it being used in 4 diff womens procedures but that’s only gonna fly IF NO ONE HAS HIS BABY BUT HER. Which isn’t the case soooooooo 11% from finishing I’m out.
If these things don’t bother you- than read it. It’s a decent read if the writing style doesn’t bother you. The H is obsessive which is nice but yeah wasn’t for me 🤷🏻♀️

Mia Fury is a newish author to me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But OH MY GOD what a totally addictive read. The chemistry between Norton and Emory light this story up like a neon light. I usually read romantic suspense, and although this had the hallmarks of this it also added in the dark side of romance that was mind blowing and so addictive I’m a true convert. Mia Fury writes with an obvious passion for her art. It jumps from the pages and draws you in without hesitation. The detail and depth in which she writes shows a true natural talent that knows no bounds. The book started with a fast burn which showed no inclination to fade throughout this truly addictive rollercoaster ride. I loved the dynamic between Norton and his brother Nico. Their banter is hilarious and you find Nico working his way into your heart as much as Norton. Norton is a complex character whose struggling childhood helped to shape him into who he is. Despite his faults, he is, at heart, a good man. Protective of those he cares for. This shines from his every pore. What he does at the beginning is done, not of malice, but of a deep seated need to belong. To be a part of something that would change his life. To be with the one person who he knew would complete him. Emory is a beautiful character. The physical and emotional scars she carries from her past impact her life completely. She doesn’t see what a strong and beautiful soul she is. Watching her realise that maybe she deserves happiness, someone who finds her worthy of love was heartwarming. This book felt like I had been enveloped into this world, given a front row VIP seat and given the privilege and honour of watching love sprout and grow with the velocity of a tornado. This book is without a doubt addictive, mind blowing and so much more. It gives the word HOT to a whole new dimension. I absolutely LOVED it. It was unforgettable and without hesitation walked straight into my heart and took up permanent residence. Definitely read this book. It’s out of this world fantastic!! 20 million star review without hesitation.
I'm a sucker for a stälker romance and this book more than delivers on it. Combine that with a Hero who is determined to get his woman pregnant and I'm in dark romance heaven...or would it be hell 😈?
Norton was such a complex character. His past definitely had a major impact on his life, evident in his öbsession with continuing his line, which leads to his even bigger obsession...Emory.
Emory has been through a lot, and no matter how far she runs, her past is always there to haunt her. She's trying to take back her life, but it's far from easy, especially when she self isolates in an attempt to protect herself. But of course, that doesn't stop Norton from making his move. This man is determing to make Emory his, looking for any way possible to sneak hi way into her life. Although Emory has her guard up (rightfully so given her past), watching Norton break down her walls was amazing. Despite their unorthodox way of "meeting", he really is the perfect man for her. Their chemistry (both emotional and sëxual) was off the charts. Absolutely loved their story.
Of course I can't end this review without mentioning Norton's brother Nico (H in Book 2). The banter between these two was hilarious. Loved their relationship and was so excited that there's no wait for his book since the author releases them at the same time. (And in case the author is reading this review- THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Being able to read this duet without waiting is awesome!)
This is my first time reading a book by the author.
Things I liked: - Norton. He was an extremely complex character, a strange mix between darkly twisted and heartfully passionate. His love for Emory was so real yet so terrifying. He had sociopathic tendencies, and was only empathetic towards his brother and Emory. I love psychos in dark romance who would die for their woman, and Norton exemplifies this trope. - The relationship between Norton and his brother, Nico. Their banter was hilarious, and the love between the two depicted well. The author also gave enough breadcrumbs to like Nico and want more of his story. - Emory. She struggled with finding herself after years of mental and physical abuse. Her independence was important to her, and although Norton was a whirlwind she wasn't expecting, she still pushed back as much as she keep hold of that. I liked how vulnerable yet strong she was. - The chemistry. Norton and Emory were off the charts from first encounter. The spicy scenes were intense and so, so hot.
Things I Did Not Like: - There were a few inconsistencies with the writing, and a grammatical error here or there. Nothing extreme, but I did question something in the story a few times. - How easily Emory just accepted Norton's dark secret. I mean, it was absolutely insane, and maybe it's just my opinion, but if I found out the guy I was in love with had done what he did, it would take more than a second for me to get over it. Granted, this is a dark fantasy, it just wasn't a fantasy I could get with.
Overall, I liked Norton's complexity and Emory's vulnerability. It was an interesting dark, twisted read.
I know my title seems harsh but its more in humor than in insult. This book actually surprised me. It was really good and added yet another layer as to why I love dark romance.
Norton is your average Joe. Not drop dead gorgeous but not unattractive. He has a modest real estate business, a nice home, and an annoying, irresponsible younger brother. He does really date and keeps mostly away from relationships due to his idea that most women are "high maintenance". Until Norton sets his sights on a woman with secrets named, Emory.
Norton has his own secrets that causes him to do the unspeakable in order to fulfill his need to have children. Emory becomes entangled in his twisted plans and the two find out that they have more in common with each other than the other believes.
These two are perfectly matched. The author does an excellent job in actually making us like Norton, in spite of the horrible things he's done. Emory is very likeable and relatable as we soon discover that she is as much into the depravity as Norton. Add in the antics and funny scenes between Norton and his troubled brother Nico, and this book will definitely hold your interest. I absolutely love the writing style and hope that we see more from this author soon.
Tropes: Stalking, Quick Burn, Breeding, ‘touch her you die’, instant connection,
TW: murder, stalking, talk of previous abuse, violence, desecration of a body, Would advise anyone that has undergone fertility treatments such as IVF may not want to read this.
3.5 to 4 stars Spice 4/5
Norton is our MMC and has a dark twisted obsession and while partaking in this obsession he comes across Emory out FMC and soon she quickly becomes his new obsession. He’s completely consumed by her, founding out everything he can about her including starting to stalk her and initiating a relationship. Emory has her own dark past that she constantly afraid will come find her. They quickly become fixated with each other, with an intense high spice relationship. Quick read with high spice and intense scenes.
Why are the things morally grey men do in real life cringe-worthy and horrifying, but then we read about it in books and it takes on a whole new life of it’s own, where we see it as acceptable? Norton has a warped way of thinking, a warped way of seeing right and wrong, yet we want to give him a pass because there’s reasons for everthing. Emory is on the other side of broken, running from a past that threatens to catch up with her. In some ways her thought processes are just as skewed as Nort’s. But when these two come together, they’re set on a different path, and it’s one we want to take with them! Mia Fury never fails to get us thinking, to challenge our thoughts about both sides of an issue, all while bringing on plenty of spice and drama. Looking forward to Nico’s story next!
I love stalker romance, there's just something different, be it right or wrong with a man who stalks the woman in his life. Its safe to say norton was a different kind of stalker. He did have a darker side to him,but I felt it wasn't pushed towards emory. He just wanted to love and protect her and continue his bloodline anyway he could. Emory was hiding, even after getting away from a monster. She wasn't ready to open up to norton, but he pushes her and is good for her. When the worst happens norton shows the depths he will go to, to protect his woman. Nico is an interesting character and his book show be a great read too.
If you know anything about Mia Fury know that she was born to write obsessive men. Norton is a very damaged, sexy and thoughtful man. He meets Emory and his world changes. The first time he hears her voice it changes his whole world. He does whatever it takes to insert himself in her world. Emory has been through so much hurt and Norton helps her heal only the way a stalker can. Norton is a sexy protector who has met the woman of his dreams. Emory is a heroine in need of a guy like Norton.
Wow I loved this story. Mia's writing is amazing, it just has a way of sucking you in, it all just flows and keeps you awake all night. Norton is the hottest creep ever & Emory's story is heartbreaking but she's a strong fiesty fmc that won't give up what she loves.... Together they are just perfection, all the hot, steamy, kegel clenching perfection you want. Enjoy 😉
Where do I start... at first I thought I was going to hate Norton and couldn't see how that would change but half way through I realised I had fallen under his spell. A must read. Can't wait for book 2
Oh Norton....my special little cinnamon roll. How delightfully complex you are. You and Emory are well matched. I'm glad you were able to remove your head enough to fix the mess.
What can I say about this book except it is everything the first book of a series should be. Angst. Love. Danger. Obsession. Truth. Mia Fury has done it again and I personally cannot wait for another installment.
The hero stalks her. Hero also has a breeding fetish.
SPOIELR SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER
Hero has only been with one woman, one time. She told him he was bad at it. Hero can only get aroused by watching things burn. So he owns a fertility clinic and puts himself in all of the samples. Women picked a different guy for the donation but instead he puts himself in there.
Heroine comes in to be inseminated. Hero sees her and gets obsessed. He starts following her and sneaking into her house WHILE SHE IS HOME.
He finds out she is a virtual assistant and sends her some of his website work. They have phone sex. He talks her into a date and she tells him she is on the run from an abusive fiance. He wants to find the guy and kill him for her. She says she doesn't want him to find her.
The guy had already found her so hero finds out she is being attacked and kills him. He comes clean and tells her everything. She is turned on by how crazy and messed up he is.
They go back to the fertility clinic together and he unplugs the freezers so all of the samples (his) are destroyed. Then they have sex in the same room where she was inseminated.
He also tells her he has 2 kids in the world. One a year old boy and one baby on the way.
He and heroine are trying to get pregnant but she is not pregnant yet.
While all this is going on someone keeps attacking his brother. Brother is in book 2. Brother's book is a male/male/female romance.

Wow! I was in the mood for a stalker romance and this one hit the spot!! I devoured this book in about 3 hours, I just could not put it down. Norton is definitely damaged by his childhood and makes some questionable choices but I honestly fell for him anyway. Emory brings a tumultuous past with her and Norton finds himself immensely drawn to her and protective of her. Norton and Emory definitely have a complex relationship and they both help ground each other. I also loved the relationship dynamic Norton had with his brother Nico, they were freaking hysterical but you could also see how much they love and support one another. Can't wait to read Nico's book next!
Firstly there are a lot of triggers warnings for this book. Did it stop me from loving it and Norton, absolutely not. He’s certainly a complex character, but I do not think he is truly “bad”. He is loving and fiercely protective of those he cares about. I also think he’s exactly what Emory needs. The spicy scenes were amazing!! Especially the one in the clinic. I loved the chemistry between them. I also absolutely loved Norton and Nico’s relationship and their interactions and banter with one another. I can’t wait to read more of it in Nico’s book.
This was my first Mia Fury book, and I have to say that I couldn’t put it down. It had me enthralled from the first couple of pages, I absolutely LOVE Norton, fell in love with him right away. The passion that he felt and the protectiveness was completely awesome. I can’t wait I start the second in this series, I just know that it will be just as good
DNF AT 20% Sperm replacements bothered my. I want the hero to be possessive only of the heroine and have only baby with her. But I just couldn’t accepting because of his need to spread his bloodline. I knew I wouldn’t enjoy this story with all the justification there were made
