I re-listened today to the audiobook version of the fifth book in this series, Dark Class, and this is a lovely epilogue to that book. It is not contained in the Kindle version of that novel, but is a freebie from the author. I'm really glad that it is part of the audiobook. I loved it!
One of my favorite tropes in a romance novel is found family AKA family of affiliation, and there is a double dose of it with the five human women and the five different Class 5 AI characters. It is so well done, it sets the standard for anyone who might ever attempt to do that trope.
Review 7/16/24:
A wonderful gift from the author to tie up a fabulous series
This extended epilogue is not contained in the Kindle version of the fifth novel in this series, Dark Class, but it is offered as part of the audiobook version of that book. It is a real treat to read this epilogue. It has some exciting action, offers a glimpse into the HEA of the five romances, and provides thrilling information about the future plans of the five AI entities we've grown to love throughout this series. Last but not least, the lovable little drones of Book 5 show up in this story and play an extremely important part in its action-adventure plot. I absolutely adore them.
Don't mind me, I'll just be over here crying all day that this is the last of the Dark Class series (for now?) and I won't be able to continue to another book.
Anyway this was a good little epilogue though I wanted it to be a whole book instead. A cute sum-up and nice to see all five characters (and love interests, and Class 5's) together finally.
Great way to cap off a wonderful series. I fell in love with these books from the first page. Each book in the series was an adventure of uts own while maintaining an overall story arc. To see the characterrs all come together and tie up their own loose ends was particularly sweet. I get that this adventure is over, and yet i still wish for another boom. Thanks MD!!! (Of note, the books are well written and well edited. So many new authors seem to take short cuts resulting in writing equal to eighth grade essays. Not the case here!)
Ellie and the rest of the Earth women, their partners and the Class 5s convene on Larga Ways. They decide to solicit good will by giving a concert, which puts them in danger, but outs some of the people plotting against them. Quite a few things are wrapped up in this epilogue, but it still leaves room for more adventures for any of the couples and Class 5s. I enjoyed seeing all the ladies together as they begin to feel a bit more at home on Larga Ways.
Me gustó (y sigo amando a Sazo).
Is this the end to this series with this final look? Maybe. Now that all the kidnapped earthling women have been found and rescued, this reunion of all 5 women plus their Class 5 AI minds is the cherry on top of the sundae. I enjoyed it for its quick read and "mic drop" moment.
Good book; Love showtime and presenting the Class 5s proposal to the UC members, which means pissing off the Tecrans again. But it is justly deserved as they still don't want to take responsibilities of their crimes.

The epilogue was a neat little addition, which I appreciated was from Ellie's POV, but also thought was wise not to include in the main book. It was meatier than I expected, and gave a nice round-off to the series, tying up political loose ends, bringing all the couples together, and setting up the future for them.
