When my boss hits me with the news that I'll be working in London for a year, I say yes so fast. What could be better than a year abroad on the company's dime surrounded by swoony British men? Meeting the sexiest, most charming man ever my first day in London — that's what. But then I lose track of him in a crowd. No last name. No number. Suddenly, finding him again feels like the most important thing I must do in my year abroad...
Shameless Flirt is a prequel in the Hopelessly Bromantic Duet and it leads into the full-length novel Hopelessly Bromantic. You don't have to read Shameless Flirt to enjoy Hopelessly Bromantic, but you'll likely enjoy this story before the story!

Shameless Flirt is book #0.5 in the Hopelessly Bromantic Duet series Lauren Blakely.
This is a super short, fun little introduction to T.J. and Jude’s story, told by T.J. He is a news report in New York and is given the amazing opportunity to work for a year in London. T.J. visited there ten years before and has always wanted to go back.
In all T.J.’s imaginings of how his first day in London would go, he never imagined meeting a sexy Brit on the street. He has all kinds of hopes and dreams for his year in London and he’s off to an amazing start.
This is a perfect little intro into this duet and I can’t wait to continue on with book one, Hopelessly Bromantic, for more about these two. I’ve been looking forward to this series for quite awhile now and am so happy it’s finally here!
I was so happy the second I discovered that the audio of "Hopelessly Bromantic" includes this Prequel to the Duet. It’s the first time I listened to an audio with a full supporting cast - and let me tell you, IT IS AWESOME!!
And I am really thankful for this being a full supporting cast production because (and I say this with all my love for him) Teddy Hamilton sucks so hard at accents he would’ve ruined Jude’s part for sure (or any other British talking character). *lmaoooo So it’s a pretty good thing that Shane East is narrating Jude even from TJ’s POV.
TJ’s excitement for his upcoming time in London is infective and I enjoyed the story of his arrival and first day in England’s capital and also his first encounter with Jude very very much. This novella is a short and entertaining introduction to the duet and I can’t wait to get TJ’s and Jude’s full story.
Shameless Flirt is a prequel in the Hopelessly Bromantic Duet and it leads into the full-length novel Hopelessly Bromantic. It is a short, sweet and funny introduction to TJ and Jude's story. This novella was a quick read. But it was very promising. And now that I am done with the duet, let me tell you, Lauren Blakely doesn't back away from the promise...I love love love those two boys. They are incredible. One of my favourite couples of all time. I would Highly recommend this duology (plus this novella).
You don't need to read this book to enjoy the following two books. But I would suggest you to read it. It's definitely worth it and helps you to enjoy the main series a lot more....
New MM duet coming? Written by Lauren Blakely? Sign me up, and sign me up now!
This was such a tease, in the best possible way, to start off and lead into the first book in the duet. Now I will be constantly thinking what happens next.
As if I wasn't already eagerly awaiting Hopelessly Bromantic this novella just made me want it more!!
Seeing how TJ & Jude first meet is going to give us a bit more of a back story for when we get book one in their duet. Lauren releases these little novellas often before she releases a new duet or trilogy, and it is always worth it. You get to see how the characters meet and their first reactions which we sometimes don't get in the book.
And I mean with a full cast and Teddy Hamilton as TJ & Shane East as Jude you know this audio is going to be something seriously spicy!!
01/2023 Rereading the series I obviously have to start with this teaser (although the following books are so much better, being longer haha). ----------- 09/2022 Rereading this mini series, still amazing! ----------- Short teaser, had me buying instantly the next book 😀
I picked this up for free and really enjoy the author's MM romances, but this feels incomplete. I know it's just a prelude and it's a great teaser for the full story. When I clicked in Kindle to show myself as Currently Reading this on Goodreads it said the title has 110 pages. Kindle says only 38 and it was definitely a quick, 38 page read. The end was rather abrupt and it works to build anticipation, but the discrepancy in page count makes me wonder whether my copy is complete. Or is the Goodreads description just wrong? Because I've never seen it that far off before and it's messing with my head. I enjoyed what I read here and look forward to more, but I'm hung up on wondering if I got all that I was supposed in this part.
But I have to admit that I am a little confused by the author's choice to release this as a "prequel". This doesn't feel like a prequel to me; it absolutely feels like the first 3 or 4 chapters in this couple's book. To me, a prequel is a book that comes before the main book, that has a story that can stand completely on its own. It has plot, setting, characters, conflict, and some sort of resolution. This didn't have a conflict or a resolution, just a no-way-this-would-happen-in-real-life meet cute told entirely from TJ's perspective.
I enjoyed TJ's character and the writing style, and have become completely invested in what happens next for these two, so I will definitely be reading their book. The only reason that this a 2-star and not a 3 or 3.5 star read is because there just wasn't enough story here.
Side note: NO WAY is this prequel 100 pages. More like 35-50, if I had to guess.
Short introduction to the first novel. Nothing really much to say as the audio was only 40 mins long but intrigued enough to see where this story will go.
Well, that was a tasty little amuse-bouche ... a tempting little bite or two to tease the palate. In this brief prequel, we get the set-up - TJ is sent to London for a one-year assignment as a journalist, ready to chase his dreams of success, as well as chasing lovely men with those scrumptious British accents.
On his first day there - sans luggage - he meets a man with "carved cheekbones, full lips, thick blonde hair and cool blue eyes" who gives TJ his name (Jude) and tells him he works in a bookstore in Cecil Court, and also directions to a cool vintage clothing store. TJ picks up a few nicely tight shirts from Helen, plus
“I also need a strong coffee. But nothing from an American chain, please. Their coffee is like drinking burnt sadness.”
“And ours is like drinking watered-down malaise. Best to learn that harsh lesson sooner rather than later. But an English Breakfast tea is like a shot in the arm. Ought to wake you right up.”
So, we get a bit of witty repartee, an interesting possibility, and at the very end, TJ walks into the right bookstore and finds Jude. Oh, the possibilities ..... and I'm happily on my way to read Hopelessly Bromantic. 4 stars.
Shameless Flirt is the prequel to Lauren’s newest duet, Hopelessly Bromantic! If you keep up-to-date with the Blakely Boys then you have meet both TJ (Chance’s twin) and Jude (Heath’s brother) in other books. I have been waiting for their stories and when I discovered they would be together I was done. Swoon. This is the beginning of their story. It all started seven years ago on a random street in London. TJ just had to follow the clues…
For a short story, this was fairly well perfect. Concise and to the point, and engaging with a MC who is well drawn out in such few pages. This has me excited to read the upcoming books in this series.
Ok. This one has totally gotten me onboard wanting to know what happens next.
This one is the prequel to the Hopelessly Bromantic diet and I felt it is the perfect appetizer to start what I feel is a delicious rom com that's coming.
So TJ gets this amazing opportunity of working in London as he works as a news reporter.
He has dreams one of writing his own novel but also many more including finding him a yummy man 😉😉
But poor TJ comes across one unfortunate turn after the other until a random handsome stranger strikes up a conversation with him and gives him the place of his work.
What will happen next? Will TJ and Jude have something that has a chance of becoming more and What about why he's in London in the first place?
This was way too short and didn’t give enough of a preview into the storyline of the series. The only part of the book that intrigued me even a little bit was the last page where TJ went to the bookstore. In my option, the rest was pretty useless and boring facts/writing.
Shameless Flirt is a prequel to the Hopelessly Bromantic Duet. This was a good intro into TJ and Jude's story. The narration is done by a full cast and is wonderful. I only recommend reading this book if you plan to continue with at least Hopelessly Bromantic, book 1 in the duet.
This was a good introduction to Hopelessly Bromantic! I liked getting to see the events leading up to the start of the novel and TJ’s thoughts when he first met Jude.
