In the midst of the Battle, Draco Malfoy finds himself torn between wanting to do the right thing and joining his family. What happens when his choice is made for him by none other than Hermione Granger?
I loved seeing Hermione saving Draco in the Battle and all of the back story, but the back and forth timelines made it hard to follow at times, which was extremely frustrating. I didn't care for the plot to set Ron up and Hermione to catch it. They could have been honest with her and saved her the heartache.
I did really like seeing Hemrione and Draco. Smutt was a bit heavy for honestly no real reason at times. I did really like the bathroom and library scenes, though. It slowed down the plot and pace at times. but it was stil a decent story.

I want the first bit of this fic to be canon. I really enjoyed this. It’s not five stars only for some of the confusing bits with the flash back switches. I was getting pulled out trying to figure out the timeline but alas, Draco smut was so great lol.
The flashbacks at the Battle were amazing. A bit complex, intense, dire.
The extremely quick nature of their relationship, both in that infamous bathroom scene and 10 years later, felt shallow and unbelievable. Same with the subsequent 2 works the author wrote.
There was a lot of potential here. If the author offered more scenes before, during, and after the Battle, of D and H slowly but surely breaking down each other's walls, then added the bathroom scene as a build-up moment, this fanfic would have been a 4-5 star.
I also really didn't like H's or D's characterizations, and the forced angst became a bit cringey. They were both immature and horny rather than actually having feelings for each other. The author tried to justify the immediate smut moments with amortentia talks and "it was fate and they actually belonged together," but it didn't make sense with how the story was written. This was a classic missed case of slow and steady wins the race.
I loved this post war Dramione with defection. That bathroom scene was just... I loved the AU of it as well. I was annoyed by the flashbacks which just didn't stop. Dramione is finally together. Just keep them coming. I don't want to know about the past that much. I'm invested in the present. The war ones were fine but then the letters and everything but then I found out the scheme from them. Holy sh*t. But it's good that Draco had nothing to do with. And the texting was so sweet. Hermione finally realizing and then being together was perfect.
It was a great story, I rather enjoyed the flashbacks and the build up of the story. The texting/sexting at the start was brilliant and I've never seen that kind of interaction between them before so was very interesting.
I loved this fic! Dramione are always the best couple to me no matter what. I also actually loved the other povs in this. Looking forward to reading more of this author.
There are 3 parts to the story. This is the first one but the author wrote an au about what would happen if they hadn’t been interrupted in the battle. That’s the one I read and while I enjoyed the story, I just needed more. 2.5 stars.

I didn’t actually read this book I read the sequel Me after you. But it wasn’t on Goodreads so I marked this one so I could keep track of the books I’ve read this year.
