When authors are real with conversations in a fiction especially the Christian romance genre ,it gets me excited, Christians are humans after all and should fall in love and have a sweet love story. This is what Rosemary has done with this book.
God sef loves LOVE and Martha and Michael's story was an example of that.

Real issues about intertribal marriages and social disparities were discussed and how they navigated through it. How you infused God's voice was it for me. Thumbs up👍👍

Thoroughly enjoyed the story of Michael and Martha.

Reading their inner thoughts/monologues with Gods responses had me tickled at times. He tried to keep the people together the best he could. It’s definitely sweet, with a few minor obstacles.

These two were feeling a lil frisky the further their relationship progressed. The nuptials needed to be done ASAP!

I was in a reading funk when I picked up this book. In fact, I had been following the series when the writer started it as a facebook series before she turned it into a full novel.

My reading funk got cured, I laughed, i fell in love with Michael, and God, and Martha, and I am so super pumped that at long last, we have a fun, relatable, hilarious and real christian romance with characters that are real.

A steamy, inspirational, and utterly delicious romance tale, I would highly recommend for anyone in need of a pick-me-up.

Book Review: God, Michael and Me

This book got me real bad, and up till now, I lack words on how to perfectly review it.

Rosemary Okafor did her thing on this one, and I would give it 5 stars.

This book was really good. While reading God, Michael and Me, I found myself being pulled into it. It was divine.

Love, faith, and patience could be seen in this book.

It wasn’t just a romance novel — it was a gentle reminder that God is never late, even when our hearts feel like giving up.

At the heart of the story is Martha, who was an elegant and accomplished woman. This was someone many would think has it all… except love.

Her calm, composed life is suddenly stirred when she meets Michael, an older widower.

Their connection doesn’t explode; it simmers with warmth, understanding, and the kind of chemistry that feels ordained rather than rushed.

(Quick one: Michael is hot, and I love him. Amen? 🙏🏾)

What touched me the most was how real Martha’s emotions were.

Her fears, longings, and even the temptation to compromise were so relatable.

Rosemary Okafor beautifully captured the tension between being a Christian and also being human craving companionship, battling loneliness, and sometimes questioning God’s timing.

This was one aspect of the book I loved so much. You are a Christian, yes. But remember, you are still human. You have feelings. Having feelings isn't bad. 🙏🏾 Amen?

I love Martha and Michael's love story so much. What makes it powerful is that God was never just mentioned. He was present in their prayers, their decisions, and even in their silences.

But I must be honest: this isn’t your typical Christian fiction. It gets intimate. There are scenes where the emotions are raw and the physical connection leans toward the sensual. It's not graphic, but more descriptive than you might expect, and I love it.

Some may find it too much for Christian standards, but I think the author was trying to show that being spirit-led doesn’t make you numb to desire. It’s the control of that desire and surrender to God’s will that matters and that’s a conversation we need more of in Christian literature.

What I loved:
🍇 The deep spiritual undertone that doesn’t feel preachy.
🍇 The love story rooted in emotional and spiritual connection.
🍇 The exploration of second chances and late-bloom love.
🍇 The realistic portrayal of a Christian woman’s emotional life.

In the end, God, Michael and Me is more than just a story of love between two people.

It’s about trusting God with your timeline, knowing He hasn’t forgotten you, and believing that love, when God authors it will find you no matter how long it takes.

This book hugged my heart, challenged my thoughts on waiting, and left me with a renewed sense of hope that love which is pure and patient is still possible, even when it looks like time is no longer on your side.

Phewwww......
God, Michael and Me by Rosemary Okafor is an exceptional Christian romance that earns a 10/10 for its heartfelt storytelling and relatable characters. Martha, a successful 39-year-old woman who has nearly given up on love, faces societal pressures about her “biological clock” but finds strength in her faith. Michael, a widowed minister and billionaire, focuses on God and family, with no intention of remarrying. Their divinely orchestrated romance, guided by the Holy Spirit, unfolds as a slow-burn love story filled with emotional depth, humor, and authenticity. Despite challenges like family disputes and a complicated “situationship” with another character, Lucky, their trust in God and each other shines through.

Martha’s compassion as a first daughter, prioritizing others’ feelings even when it leads to being taken for granted, is deeply relatable. Her discernment in recognizing the Holy Spirit’s voice over negative self-doubt (e.g., feelings of being “unwanted”) adds spiritual richness. Michael’s straightforward nature and quiet strength make him a compelling counterpart, with moments of tension (e.g., his restraint with Lucky) highlighting his faith-driven resolve. Okafor’s prose is engaging, blending sensuality with Christian values, keeping readers invested in what happens next—whether it’s Martha’s playful mischief or the couple’s heartfelt phone calls.

This novel stands out as a “God-approved” romance, emphasizing discernment, trust in divine timing, and the power of faith in relationships. It delivers “tommy butterflies” through its emotional highs and lows, surpassing expectations with its uplifting resolution. Perfect for fans of Christian romance and slow-burn love stories, this book is a must-read for anyone seeking a story that inspires both heart and soul.

This is a tender, authentically human story of faith, love, and second chances. It's the first African Christian fiction I’ve read where romance isn’t sanitised or preachy, but instead layered with emotional realism, spiritual depth, and honest depictions of human longing. The connection between Martha and Michael is instant, yet their journey unfolds with divine intention and relatable vulnerability.

Michael, a widowed pastor with two children, is portrayed with refreshing complexity. His path to remarriage—one he hadn’t even considered—is gently nudged by divine intervention rather than forced by religious expectation. Opposite him is Martha, a younger woman navigating her own desires and spiritual convictions. Her inner conflict, including her sexual tension and her continued faithfulness in hearing from God, is depicted with a rare honesty that makes her journey all the more compelling.

The strength of this novel lies in its relatability, humour, and emotional realism. The characters feel like people you might know—funny, flawed, prayerful, and human. The pacing is mostly well-balanced, drawing readers into a romance that feels evolutionarily natural, not rushed or overly idealised.

What stood out most was the book’s willingness to explore emotional and spiritual depth without glossing over real human experiences. This isn’t just a love story—it’s a faith journey for both Martha and Michael.

That said, the resolution of the quasi-love triangle involving a third party felt slightly underdeveloped, and the ending leaned toward abrupt. Still, these are minor bumps in an otherwise beautifully written narrative that stays true to both heart and faith.

First of all, I loveeeee that this book beautifully illustrates what it means to have a conversational relationship with the Father; one where you can be fully transparent, even about your flaws and deepest desires.

Michael’s backstory as a widower who chose to remain single for seven years adds emotional depth. His devotion to his late wife is tender and authentic, yet we watch him wrestle with rediscovering love in a way that feels godly yet very human.

What truly sets this book apart is how it addresses the topic of lust and sexual attraction within Christian relationships. It’s a conversation many shy away from, but I love that the author approaches it with sensitivity, wisdom, and realism. The internal battle between flesh and spirit, and the need to be honest with God about those feelings, was portrayed with grace. It reminds us that God is not distant from our struggles. He meets us in them.

The book also emphasizes the beauty of waiting, as demonstrated in the life of Martha.

Also, a book where you can see the yearning from both POVs? 🤭 Did I also mention that this book was inspired by true events?

If you love stories that are real, romantic, and spiritually grounded, this is one to pick up. It’s not just about love between a man and a woman, but about surrender, discernment, and what it means to walk closely with God in every season of life.

This was a cute, cheesy Christian romance.

I avoid any media production tagged “Christian” because of how biased and judgmental they could be, but this was surprisingly different—a good kind of different.

I loved that it portrayed how Christians are also humans who experience the rage of their flesh and can be tempted with their passion. I also loved how God walked with them through their journey to becoming married. His wordseven to me the reader—sounded comforting and thoughtful, especially in that scene where Michael almost gave in.

However, I didn’t rate it high because:

1. I found some of the supposedly “cheesy and cute scenes” cringey. In a means to make it cute, the author might have overdosed it.

2. The nickname the MMC called the FMC was too weird, please. “Little woman”??

3. I felt things moved too fast between them. The author didn’t specify the timing, but in less than one month of meeting, you’re already begging me to see your relatives? God is the greatest matchmaker, yes, but I don’t think it should substitute the place of getting to know yourselves. That scene with Martha’s in-law could have been avoided.

4. I think it was too sexually suggestive for a Christian book. I mean I get it, but yeah.

In summary, I loved that the author didn’t only paint God as our leader and supreme authority, but also as a loving and forgiving God.

I just finished reading this and I’m still reeling from the experience! This contemporary Christian romance is a spiritual journey that masterfully blends faith, humor, and modern relationships.
The story follows Martha , a determined and career-driven woman who receives an audible message from God promising a man after His own heart and Michael Bankole, a respected Christian leader ,a billionaire and widower, their transformative romance begins when there met at a crusade.
What I loved most about this book is its authentic characters, plot, and balance of humor and sincerity. Martha and Michael’s journeys are deeply rooted in divine intervention and personal growth, making their romance a sweet.
Some of my favorite scenes were Martha’s hilarious struggles with hair braiding cos I was able to relate with it 😂😂😂, the unexpected bookstore encounter, and the intimate car ride where emotions begin to surface.
I recommend this book to anyone loves a story that goes beyond superficial romance. Whether you’re drawn to inspirational tales of faith or simply great storytelling, this book offers a rich, rewarding experience that speaks to the heart and soul

Gosh, this book was just sweet, full of love, excellent communication, and such a refreshing take on romance. Usually, romance novels come with a lot of drama or communication issues, but this was smooth sailing from the start. There was a tiny hitch, but it resolved almost as quickly as it appeared, which made the relationship feel healthy and grounded.

I really appreciated how feel-good and wholesome this story was. It was exactly what I needed; a break, a refresher, and I absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a light, heartwarming read.

That said, I had two issues. First, for a Christian-themed book, I expected less spice, but there was quite a bit, and I had to skip over some parts. That threw me off a little. Second, a few plot points felt unresolved. For example, did Lucky undo what he did? How did Martha’s father reconcile his feelings toward Michael? I would’ve loved more closure on those fronts.

Still, overall, the author did a wonderful job. This was a really enjoyable read.

First of Michael bankole make i send my aza? 😂 this is a sweet, soft, Christian book that shows you what it means to wait for God's time, God's directions, or even better, I love Michael bankole . I love, love, love them. I love Martha. I love how their relationship progressed, how they followed God's word with them in their life, and how it came out to be. Personally, what I love very well is Michael's daughter finally gets his act together with Martha, because it's definitely not easy for your dad to be remarrying after your mom's death and stuff. But she was accepting of him, she was cool with it, and I really like them. The book is amazing. Michael bankole is rich, and he did show Martha the babygirl treatment and I love it. I love the book. It's just amazing.

God, Michael and Me is a beautiful Christian romance novel that truly took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting any form of smut or intense physical attraction, especially in a faith-based book, but it was tastefully written and served to show that Christians are human too, and temptation is very real.

What I loved most was how the novel gave an honest portrayal of Christian life, balancing faith, love, and personal struggles. It reminds us that being a believer doesn’t make you immune to challenges, especially in relationships. The characters were relatable, and I especially appreciated how Bible verses were naturally woven into the story, adding depth and.

A good story that blends romance with a strong faith message.

God, Michael, And Me is a gentle reminder about trusting God’s timing, especially in love.
Martha is successful, accomplished, and still waiting on the promise she believes God made to her. Then Michael appears, and from the moment he sees her, he knows. No confusion. No hesitation. Just clarity and intention.
What I loved most was how honest this story was about faith. The doubts, the waiting, the question of “Did I hear God right?” all explored with sincerity and depth. It didn’t feel preachy, just real.
This is a faith-centered romance for anyone who has waited, questioned, and still chosen to trust God with their heart.

I can tell you is that God, Michael and Me is a beautiful story. A story of God's love, of a man and woman's love, and of restoration.

Reading it will make you laugh. Rosemary Okafor appears to have that gift of infusing light-hearted humour into a story. It will draw you in, like a warm embrace. Only the bizarre thing is you'll feel like you're being embraced by Him, not the story, or the storyteller.

You will love Martha. And there's no force on Earth that can make you resist Michael.

A most beautiful story, I tell you.

I like the premise that “God is the ultimate matchmaker”

Nicely written Christmas romance but I wouldn’t rate it higher because:

-I cringed at some scenes especially his nicknames for her, it sounded so weird.
- The huge age gap also didn’t sit right with me at first
-For a Christian book it was a bit too sexual, I know the author was trying to be realistic but it could have been less explicit
-Lastly, I know the lord brought them together but sometimes I was like “really?”

Ohhh, how I loved this book. God really writes the best love stories. I loved how I knew the ending but enjoyed every bit of the ride. I loved the characters and how relatable they were. I loved how, at some point, I could just close the book and be like God. LOL. All in all, it was a great read that taught me how to trust God with every aspect of my life, even those that I somehow don't think He'll understand. Already have the next book on my list.

I’m not one for Christian romance fiction but I enjoyed this story.
I loved that Martha is in her 30s and didn’t play hard to get. She went straight for what she wanted, which is something I like when reading romance.
There was a lot of religious references which jarred me a bit. But I guess this is why it’s a Christian book.
