He says I’m his soulmate. But I’m also another man’s wife.

It was supposed to be a simple weekend away to forget the heartache caused by my cheating husband. But the man sitting next to me in 1B has different plans. Cash’s whiskey-colored eyes and easy smile beg me to dance beneath the stars, kiss in the moonlight, and walk hand in hand down the streets of Boston. Unfortunately, life has other plans because I’m still married, and Cash James is the billionaire playboy standing between me and my dream promotion.

My job is simple—find Mr. James a wife. But nothing is easy when simply walking into his office and inhaling his woodsy scent makes me feel a buzz like I’ve just sipped straight from the whiskey bottle. He makes me tipsy with emotion. Breathless, fearless, and stupid.

Because no matter how good it feels in the moment, our love burns on the way down.

Authors Note: Whiskey Lies is book one of the Falling For Whiskey duet. It is a Billionaire Contemporary Romance. This book is part of a duet and is not a standalone.

Nobody in this book is mature enough for an adult relationship. Throughout the book they lie, avoid speaking, and miscommunicate to a frustrating degree. I still have no idea why Grace initially lied when being honest made 500X more sense. The book ends on a miscommunication driven cliffhanger. Because apparently 500 pages worth of lying and miscommunication isn't enough, the author expects you to read another 500 pages of lies and miscommunication. Thanks, but no thanks.

If you’re into a whole book about miscommunication, no one having a truthful conversation, and characters who are in their 30s but act like high schoolers then this is for you.

WHYYYYY would the public care that the CEO of a whiskey business isn’t married? So let’s do the next logical thing and hire a match matching business so the single CEO is seen out multiple nights a week with a different girl on each night cause that’ll make him seem secure and stable.

The FMC and MMC had one weekend together and they fell for one another. ONE weekend. ONE WEEKEND. What chemistry besides good sex happened??? I’m truly confused. And it’ll be bad press to be seen with a woman going through a divorce - oh how scandalous 🙄 - so she suggests to be seen fake dating other people. Maybe just, oh I don’t know, don’t be seen out with anyone at all?? Then the press wouldn’t have anything to write about??? Again WHY DOES THE PRESS CARE???? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

It started off strong, and then…I just didn’t care anymore. Guess I’ll never know how this ends cause I’m not reading the second book.

The first part , which was the base to all the infatuation between the main characters, was rushed and not convincing .
After that the whole plot was repeating itself in the most childish way . Both Cash and Grace acted like high school kids .
Cash's family was unbearable ! Especially his annoying sister .
I couldn't take anymore accidental bumping in each other at clubs scenes so I left .

This book was so bad, it was almost good.

Okay, have you guys ever read a book that's seems like the worst thing in history of literature but at the same time you can't put it down? Well, for me it's this book. I got this book as an ARC and it makes me feel slightly guilty of bad-mouthing it but I can't lie about this.

This book has all the elements that I hate in a book. Miscommunication Trope. Misunderstanding Trope. Push-and-Pull Trope. It was cute and giddy in the beginning but it got annoying by the middle of it. The FMC doesn't get the basics of a relationship. I was so tired of hearing how she'll always put her career above her love life and that sounds okay but not when you neglect the latter because of the former.

Spoiler Alert : FMC's husband cheated on her and they're getting a divorce before she meets the MC, has a passionate vacation fling and leaves before he can wake up. Comes back home and finds out her fling is her new client and now instead of coming clean about everything and accepting that she felt intensely about him too, she lies, dodges and ruins it all. Why? Because her career > relationships. Now get this, she openly admits that one of the reasons about her broken marriage (and I don't condone the husband for cheating but she was so at fault too) was that she spent late nights in town (for work) instead of going back home to her husband. Like the simple concept of 50/50 is something these people don't get. Work and Personal life balance 101, dude!

And this happens within the first 80 or so pages of the book. For the rest of the book, they are going back and forth, coming close physically (like sex/kissing) and then backing out because of the problems they've made in their heads. And get this-when they finally get together after being annoying for the most half of the book, in the last five pages they break up again because of a stupid misunderstanding.

All the characters of this book act like toddlers. There's no proper conversation happening. Every argument is being solved with sex. And the most infuriating character - Cat - MC's sister thinks herself entitled to decide who her brother dates. Like she involves herself so much that I wanted to slap her a couple of time.

But like I said, this book was so bad it was almost good. The cliffhanger makes me want to read the second book (I hope there's not a third one) which I will. If you decide to give it a go, I won't stop you. You might like it (though I take no guarantee).

[ARC Review]

This contemporary romance story is everything! Its a little bit age gap (female being older), a little bit billionaire romance, lovers to enemies back to lovers and back to enemies... Its a whirlwind of emotions and you find yourself yelling "no don't do/say that!" like the characters actually hear you 😅. You just can't help but fall in love with the characters and become emotionally invested.

This has all the makings of a feel good love story with the right amount of dramatics and the perfect amount of spice! Cash and his boyish billionaire charm, is officially on the list for top book boyfriends! His pet names and dirty talk...🥵

And then there's Grace, oh that poor sweet naive, sometimes infuriating woman. You really feel for her but also she's the one you're screaming at in your head to stop being so silly lol. I did really enjoy the character growth you see from her throughout the storyline. Given some shitty hands she was dealt with in life she still manages to hold it together for the most part. That's really endearing to see.

I'm still reeling from that dramatic cliff hanger and don't even know what to say. I'm a little upset I have to wait over a month for the sequel to find out what happens! Okay a lot upset! Lol the downfall of reading an amazing ARC is having to wait for the next one. I truly enjoyed this book, I could not put it down. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and I loved every minute of it!

A tempting tale of love, lies, angst, secrets, betrayal, and broken hearts. Grace and Cash’s love story was addicting, spicy, and the chemistry between the two was off the charts.

When Grace and Cash meet on a trip to the Keys both want nothing more than to forget their lives for the weekend. Grace is dealing with the news that her husband was cheating on her and their marriage of eight years is now over. Cash wants a last hoorah before he’s strapped down with the responsibilities that come with being CEO to his family’s company. After a weekend neither expects to see the other again until their paths cross when Grace is tasked with the responsibility of finding Cash a wife. It’s a classic tale of wrong place, wrong time only now hearts and reputations are on the line.

Cash is loyal to a fault, he’s a dirty talking alpha that could make any woman melt. Grace was complicated. She realized how difficult things could be for them and while she was selfish at times she wanted nothing more than Cash’s success.

I devoured this book so quickly. The push and pull, the angst, the chemistry, the inability to stay away from each other even when they knew what they were doing was wrong made this such an addicting book. These characters were flawed and everything was working against them. These two were destined for each other, I would go so far as to say they were soulmates.

This reverse age-gap, forbidden romance will have you hot, bothered, and needy for more. I loved this book so much and I’m so glad I could dive right into book two of this duet after that cliffhanger!

♥️Whiskey Lies ♥️

This book!!! Gah! I’ve loved all of Brittanee’s books but this one had me hooked from the first few pages. The tension, the angst, the steam… all of it. I wasn’t even mad about the cliffhanger because it meant there was more of Cash and Grace to come.

Cash is one of my top book boyfriends. He’s loyal to a fault and one of the sweetest guys…outside the bedroom. Inside he a turns on his sexy alpha charm and I love it.

I was definitely rooting for Cash and Grace from the get go and can’t wait to see it all come together in book two. I’m so ready for the rollercoaster.

Brittanee absolutely nailed this book and everyone should read it!

Well that was a wild ride & I think I need a shot of Whiskey!

Grace & Cash were quite the characters in this, Book one of the Falling for Whiskey Series.

He's a hot 30 year old billionaire & the next CEO of the family business. She's 36, her husband is having an affair and she's divorcing the jerk [as she should!] They meet sitting on a plane next to each other both spending a weekend in Florida. There are just about sparks flying from their chemistry & its a weekend neither will forget. Except he ends up being her next client & she's trying to set him up with a wife.

There was hot, spicy action, tenderness, falling head first into love, building & breaking down barriers, and a dynamic, evolving plot line. So glad I have the next book to look forward too!

Brittanee Nicole DOES IT AGAIN!!!

What is even happening!?

This story hooked me on PAGE 1. Talk about a spicy page-turner!!  How can you not root for Grace and Cash??  The way Cash loves Grace with his whole being is true book-boyfriend vibes, and I am HERE for it!!

Brittanee Nicole is the ultimate storyteller, developing characters you can’t help but identify with, root for, and FEEL FOR!

The way this story enveloped me…even KNOWING it would end on a cliffhanger still somehow wrecked me.  I am having a hard time patiently waiting for book 2 of this duet!  I need more Grace and Cash!!

Cash has straight up wrecked me, I am done for… I am also NOT ok after this ending… I’m looking at your Britanneé…

If you’re looking for a steamy, sexy, duet read (two books 😉) you WANT this one!

I was hooked from the very first chapter where Cash and Grace meet and I did not want to stop reading as I went through this roller coaster of emotions while reading. Older female MC, cheating husband, billionaire client, this book has it all.

I am currently curled in a ball waiting for book 2 to see how this one plays out!

Not what I expected

The book was not what I expected. It was better. This story arrested me. I love that I could not predict how things would go between Grace and Cash. There will be hell to pay in book 2. What could happen between a matchmaker and a billionaire?

I'm out 👉🥴🧠💥

i’d just like to start off by saying i’m not part of the target audience the author is looking for. that being said, those who have read this and are have enjoyed this book. if you feel like you would, plz take my review with a grain of salt.

the story centers Grace and Cash. Grace is about to be divorced from her cheating husband, Steven, and Cash is reluctant to give up his youth to take over the family business. these two happen to meet right at the beginning of the first chapter, right next to each other in first class on their airplane. it’s insta-love from the start, which is an immediate turn-off for me, and i also felt their chemistry was incredibly forced.

i also was not a fan of the unnecessary drama between them. too much of a rollercoaster ride for a relationship that lacked any foundation to it. and i just felt like a lot of didn’t need to happen, that it did nothing to really strengthen the plot or dynamic between the two. for me it had the opposite effect unfortunately.

again, my opinion does not reflect this novel’s target audience so please do not let it sway you if you feel you’d enjoy this.

i received a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review. thank you to the author for letting me do so.

Ehhhhh. This book was a bunch of ping pong nonsense until literally 98% then something happened and it ended in a cliff hanger.

He literally had more chemistry with the girls she was setting him up with than he did with her. It all just felt off, you could tell everyone was working behind their backs the whole time and they were oblivious and caring about things that didn’t matter. No one would care if you dated someone who is divorced lmao you’re literally in your 30s? That’s not uncommon at all.

Her job and the plot around how it worked was a cool idea, but otherwise the actual relationship between the main characters was not good.

Oh, And all the side characters sucked.

Sometimes, I see a bad review or two and think to myself, “Okay, that’s fair. Everything can’t be for everybody.” In this case, I should have listened to the bad reviews This was a giant waste of time. The story and details are super inconsistent, there is zero communication between any of the characters, the FMC is supposed to be 36 but acts 15…this book was horrible! I’m floored that it has such a high rating on Goodreads. My recommendation? Don’t even bother.

DNF. Geez enough with the over explaining and Grace calling herself a hussy. The book just feels like a child wrote it.
I was super interested in it from the start, but after the first chapter, it just started to get annoying and I couldn’t read it anymore.

Grace and Cash are a couple that could have easily been together if they just learned how to communicate. And admittedly there were a few times it got a little frustrating that they didn't just talk to each other. But the angst that came from their constant back and forth was what I was looking for from this book and I think it was done in an intriguing way.

I instantly had to jump to the next book once the cliffhanger came and even now after finishing the duet I don't feel ready to leave this couple.

Grace Kensington just wanted a weekend to herself to forget the heartache she’s feeling over her cheating husband. But life isn’t that simple, and when she meets the handsome, dark haired man in the seat next to her, her life is changed forever.

Cash James is a billionaire playboy, but he claims she’s his soulmate. And the more Grace tries to resist, the more she falls for him. But Grace is still married, and to top it all off, she’s supposed to be finding him a wife. Yet, as she spends more time with him, their love seems to be inevitable.

Holy. Freaking. Hell. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. It hooked me right from the start, and every time I had to put it down, I was counting down the minutes til I could start it again. Cash and Grace’s story was brilliantly written and tragically beautiful, and I couldn’t get enough of it. This book was agonizingly angsty, but it was written in such a way that you can’t help but crave more. And that ending… I’m still in shock.

Grace. She has such a beautifully battered soul. I think she’s been through a lot, and her confidence has taken a hit. I was so proud of her when she gained her confidence back, and not just because of Cash. As for Cash… I can’t even begin to express how much I love this man. He’s got his own inner demons, but I admire the way he was able to give Grace his all, and how much he believed in her. Their chemistry was quite literally off the charts. I can’t wait to see what happens next for Cash and Grace, and I highly recommend both this book and Brittanee Nicole as an author.

Just when I thought Brittanee Nicole could never top her Bristol Bay series books because they are all favorites of mine, she goes and writes this absolutely amazing book that has me completely obsessed! If I could give this Whiskey Lies more than five stars, I would.

Aside from an amazing storyline that flows seamlessly and never lags, the chemistry between the two main characters is absolute perfection. I found myself cheering them on from page one. A fantastic group of side characters keep the storyline interesting, and I can see their storylines progressing in book two, along with our MCs. Speaking of book two… this book does leave you hanging and desperate for book two. Like very desperate. I will be recommending this book to ALL of my friends and fellow book lovers!

I was provided an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my review, so I really wanted to love it so i could give it a great review. Unfortunately, this story just didn’t do it for me. It is written in 3rd person POV, which I generally dislike, and had I known it was written like that I would not have opted to read it. In my opinion, there are very few authors who are able to write 3pov well. The FMC used the word “hussy” at least 4 times in the first couple chapters and it really rubbed me the wrong way. A woman thinking $ëxûäl thoughts does not automatically deem her a “hussy”. Ultimately I did end up DNFing the book, but I am definitely not going to give up on this author. This is the first book I have read by her, and will likely give her writing another shot in the future.

This was a wide ride and had me hooked from page 1!

(Audio Review)
This book is about Grace and Cash. Grace is 36 and in line to take over the elite matchmaking company she currently works at. Cash (how fitting of a nickname) – or Cassius – is 30, a billionaire, and is the next CEO of his family business that deals in Whiskey. They meet sitting next to each other on a plane when they both decide to spend a weekend in Florida. She’s there to take some time to get away from the chaos of her life after finding out her husband is having an affair and before she sets her divorce plans in motion. He’s there as a final weekend to himself before he takes over as CEO of his family business. Their chemistry is instant, sparks fly, and they spend the weekend getting to know each other. Only once the vacation is over and they return to their individual lives, they both find out she has been hired to be his new matchmaker to help him find a wife to settle down with. This of course complicates things.

This book was soo hot. It was spicy. It was also soo sweet. I loved Cash the most. Even though he tried to stay away from Grace at first (once he found out she was in the middle of trying to get divorced), you could tell he cared so much about her and would do anything for her. I also loved Grace rediscovering her female friendships after leaving her husband. I loved the discussions on how she realised how isolated she had made herself once she got married (even though I’m sure this is not true for every married person). I also lived for the drama between Cash and his business rival. Plus, the twist that we find out about Cash’s mum was soo tender and sweet. This book was just A+! Looking forward to reading the next book.

Side note: this is part one of a duet and does end on a cliffhanger.

I listened to the audio version of this book which was narrated by Joe Arden & Lucy Rivers. This narration was stunning! I always love listening to Joe Arden, and Lucy Rivers did excellently. They both brought the characters and story to life! Highly recommend!

IM SCREAMING. Why did no one tell me this leaves off on a cliffhanger?! The way I need book two IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

Okay but this story literally gripped me by the throat & didn’t let go…just like how I would let Cash 😛 no but seriously I was on the edge of my seat I swear. I couldn’t stop reading & I need answers!!!!!!!

Cash was seriously so hot. AND JOE MOFOING ARDEN NARRATING HIS CHARACTER WAS PERFECT. Hearing some of the dirty things he said right in my ear. Ooooo girl I had chills. But Cash was also so sweet & swoony ugh my heart. There were moments that had me tearing up they were just so cute.

Lucy rivers also crushed it as Grace & I really enjoyed her & Joe as a duet. It was so well done. I felt so bad for Grace. It seemed like the whole world had it out for her. She better get a HEA & a good one at that😤😤😤

Whiskey Lies and Loving Whiskey
Brittanée Nicole

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶🌶🌶

This is my review about both books, I have been such a fan of Brittane’s from the very beginning and her writing has tremendously grown!!! Like I am so proud of this author. She’s such a kind person( and i only know her through the book community!) I wish nothing but the best for her on her upcoming releases! But Whiskey ….
Ohhhhh he’s my favorite.

Seriously these books consumed me. I seriously didn’t want it to end and not just for Cash and Grace, I want more from Cat and Jay, Tessa, Frank, Carter and Chase. The storyline was amazing!!!( if you’re into the tropes that are given in the story) But I actually love books like these! That forbidden love, the can’t sleep, can’t function, that deep crave for one another- the push and pull these two characters have for one another is insane!!! The spice was 🤌🏻🤌🏻

Cash- all in, kind, protective, loyal family man. Handsome and alpha-ways and dirty talking in the bedroom just adds to his overall character.

Grace, now this bitty is complicated. Career driven and coming out of one relationship( her failed marriage) while coming off as selfish, I just think with the miscommunication in parts of the storyline all Grace really wanted for Cash was to be successful.

Seems these two were destined to be together but every single obstacle got in their way to a happy ending. It also goes to show you how each sex processes things differently. Like Grace takes a self confidence, mental hit about her failing marriage and Cash doesn’t care for the consequences because he just wants her.

Book 1 ends in a cliffhanger and book 2 gives you that HEA but not without major drama and twists and turns but still leaves you with questions!!! (About other characters) fantastic read and I think it’s definitely a top read(s) of the year!
