Welcome to Chipping Cheddar where supernaturals are hidden in plain sight.

When a woman is murdered behind the library, Chief Fox realizes the victim was more than she seemed and enlists the aid of Chipping Cheddar’s resident Federal Bureau of Magic agent, Eden Fury. The woman’s death also triggers the arrival of Alcina, a powerful supernatural hellbent on uncovering the killer’s identity and bringing them to justice. Alcina views Eden as her polar opposite on the supernatural scale of good and evil and doesn’t trust her to conduct a proper investigation, no matter what her badge says.

Meanwhile, Grandma and Aunt Thora have decided to participate in Chipping Cheddar’s first annual Mature Woman competition in order to raise funds for the senior center, a decision that Eden worries will result in more trouble than a washing machine is worth.

Will Eden keep Alcina at bay long enough to save the competition and find the killer—or has she finally met her supernatural match?

Eden and Chief Fox working together to solve a murder. I wish she would stand up to her family so their relationship isn’t a secret. Her mother and grandmother are just awful witches…

2022 bk 189. I started the Federal Bureau of Magic series during the dark time of Covid stay at home and found it provided some chuckles. Picking up where I left off - Fury and Ice not only provided chuckles (a mature women's beauty pageant as a fundraiser comes to mind), but introduced me to a mythological being that somehow escaped my awareness through all of the mythology reports students did through the years. A fun read as Eden, Chief Fox, and the Eumenides sometimes work together to solve the death of a deep undercover FBM agent.

Another fun installment!

I love this series! This light paranormal mystery has Eden and Chief Fox really working together to solve a new case, and Eden' s mother, grandmother, and aunt working toward a protect to benefit humans. While Mother and Grandmother still trade insults, I see and enjoy their growth. Fun characters, funny "cheesy" small town setting, and now I need to snag the next book!

Eden has a dead witch to investigate while Grandma and aunt Thora have a beauty pageant to win.

There’s a dead witch behind the library with a big hole in her chest. Not your normal way to start the day but Eden Fury is an actual Fury who works for the federal bureau of supernaturals. She is based in her home town of Chipping Cheddar, lives in a converted barn situated exactly 500 yards between her mums and dads houses ( they’re divorced) Mum lives with Grandma and Aunt Thora all three are black witches while Dad, who is a Vengeance Demon lives with his new wife Sally who is a Vampire. There’s also Eden’s brother Anton another Vengeance Demon his wife a Druid healer and their two children. Eden is the family disgrace, she works for the law, tries to get her family to behave within the law and is in a secret relationship with the town Sheriff, Sheriff Fox, secret, as her family strongly disapprove of her dating ordinary humans. Being a Fury is not easy, the more she uses her powers the more her Fury side manifests and Eden may one day find herself one of the bad guys but she strives every day to live as normally as she can retaining her humanity. The relationship Eden has with her family is troubled but with time she is beginning to see they are not as bad as she has always pictured them to be, if only they did not still see her as such a goody two shoes. There’s a lot of humour in this series and the relationship between Eden, her Mum and Grandma is priceless and worth reading the books for all on its own. Example, when the women argue and loose their temper they use death curses on each other then bury the victim in the backyard so they can dig themselves out when they revive. Hilarious.

Outstanding supernatural cozy mystery series

This is an outstanding Supernatural cozy mystery series. Next-door nearly imaginative cast of characters and a very entertaining storyline. Eden fury is a federal agent with the federal Bureau of magic. She comes from a long line of supernatural‘s and is an actual fury which is rare in her family. She went into the FBI to become an FBI agent and at some point when the bureau realized that she was supernatural they transferred to her to the federal Bureau of magic which deals specifically with supernatural beings crimes and keeping it hidden from the human world. She had escaped her hometown on the East Coast and went out to San Francisco when our troubles began as she was transferred to the FBM and sent back to her hometown to be the local agent in charge. Unfortunately her crazy family lives there and she must deal with them as well as the other supernaturals around town well keeping the peace between the two worlds. The supernatural‘s appear to be humans at least to the humans. They are unaware of the supernatural community and live their lives normally. Unfortunately on occasion there are supernatural‘s that come to town to cause trouble. There is a dormant gate to the other world that seems to attract them. Agent fury and her partner are there to guard the gate and keep an eye on it as well as deal with supernatural crimes in town.
This is an entertaining series by a great author of supernatural themed books in series. Check it out you will not be disappointed. You can even follow her on Facebook and get some insight into her stories and characters. Check it out you won’t be disappointed.

I just can’t get enough! 💖💖💖

Don’t let the title fool you! Not that I have anything against a “Cozy Mystery Series”, but I thought this would one of those “good vibes and silly” books that was all warm and fuzzy! Not the case here, since this series has a certain “edge”. Each book has a new mystery that gets solved by the end of each book. The FMC Eden is a hoot! She is super likable, sarcastic and the star of this series. Eden gets transferred back home against her wishes to be an agent for the Federal Magical Bureau. Now she has to embrace her magic, which is something she was always reluctant to do, embrace living once again with her whacky family, who she so desperately wanted to leave behind and get reacquainted with the people of the town where she grew up. I was really pleasantly surprised by this series. What I liked most is the barely there “dark undertones” that make it that much more interesting. I have read plenty of Annabel Chase’s books. Some I liked better than others, but this one is turning out to be a real joy to read. There is a progression to this series, especially Eden who is slowly but surely learning to embrace who she really is. Highly Recommended ❤️❤️❤️ PS. I would also recommend you read “ The Crossroads Queen Series by Annabel Chase” - One of the best series out there!

Cute, quick fun read

I really like the Fury series. There is a formulaic routine to them, but then all cozy paranormal stories have that. It does pull out a lot of unique insights and fun little quips while it tells the story and thats the important side of it.

It’s a great way to escape for a few hours and you can laugh at the antics of Agent Fury, her family, and the cast of characters in Chipping Cheddar. I have to admit hearing about the grandmother playing Little Critters (think Pokémon Go), always gives me a laugh, especially as she takes such pleasure in beating some child by getting a critter before they do.

The concept of the supernatural dimension and the human one is different then many written about. It has some unique creatures and in this case a disgusting demon appearing. I like how it even forces you into seeing the good and evil, but at the same time not everything is always black and white.

I look forward to more of these fun stories.

Yin and Yang

When the dead body of Pamela Clover turns up behind the library with a hole in its chest that is obviously not created by human methods Eden Fury and Chief Fox are working together to try and find another supernatural.

While searching for Pamela's killer Eden meets her alter ego the Eumenides Alcina who seems to believe that she should smite Eden immediately because furies are evil, Eden manages to convince, or more like confuse, her into leaving with her FBM badge but the pair are on a collision course.

The FBM are refusing to give Eden information about either Alcina or the case itself and it's only while Eden is dealing with her Granny and Aunt's foray into the world of senior center pageants that she discovers the truth. But can she beat Alcina to the culprit?

I started the series a while ago, and I like it. We are on book ten, so I won't go into the blurb. But I will say that I still don't like the protagonist, Eden Fury and have no idea what Chief Fox sees in her. In this book, however, the supercilious protagonist sees her family through the lenses that I do; they are shades of grey.

So if I got you curious as to why it's a good read, it is because Annabel Chase has created a warm world where we meet a family bonded by love, even if they don't say so. The supporting characters are unique, funny, charming, and sometimes evil. And although I am not keen on our protagonist, I get excited about which new power she might gain after closing a case. I love her assistant Neville and the references to pop culture and their acceptance of difference.

There is a lot to like in writing.

This was another fun book to read. After Chief Fox is advised of a body found behind the library, he decided that it has a supernatural element and calls in Eden.
Sure enough, the victim is an unregistered witch who has been selling charms. While Eden and Fox are following up leads and dissatisfied customers, Eden also has to deal with her aunt and grandmother who have entered a Mature Women competition at the senior centre.
She also has to deal with Alcina, an Eumenides, supposedly the complete opposite to a fury. Alcina is also doing some work for the FBM but she doesn’t trust Eden. You don’t know if they are going to talk or fight. It’s another mystery why the FBM has sent her.
This book has an interesting mystery, lots of the fantastic quirky characters, more insight to Eden’s family and lots of humour.
This is a light, entertaining, quick read.

A surprising angle!

An enjoyable aspect of "Fury and Ice" is the shift in perspective. Eden is a Fury with a strong sense of justice who has never fit in with her family who mostly mock her as a do-gooder and don't even seem to like her. Eden left town years ago to get away from her family; they are dark magic users, not exactly law-abiding, and an embarrassment. The introduction of a Eumenides (basically the flip side of the same coin to a Fury) named Alcina who considers herself superior to Eden adds both tension and enlightenment to the story. Investigating this well-written and engaging mystery yields the killer as well as personal insights for both women. This may be my favorite in this series!

One of the better ones

The fury series is light and fun. This book - while on the short side - touched on elents of all the key characters, had a good story line, and flowed smoothly. Eden's character and powers were more clearly defined, along with the many conflicts and challenges she faced. The proofreading on this book was decent - I only noticed a few instances of omitted words, and the inappropriate use of "I" rather than "we" - which does not tie in to her characters' backgrounds. My rating would be higher but for those elements. I believe writers have a duty to set a good example with the quality of their work, although I do.manage my share of typos!

This was fun senior center is having a beauty contest. Grandma and aunt Thora is in it. Grandma wants to get a Jacuzzi and I forget what aunt Thora wants. So Eden is tasked to help by selling the tickets.
Along with this what Eden thought was a human turned out to be a non-licensed witch Named Pamela who is found to be murdered. As Eden tries to solve this she runs into Alcina who is a eumendea. Another rare creature who is actually like the enemy to fury.
Since fury Are considered evil eumendea are considered good. So a nice twist.
Not as much family fighting and Alice didn’t show up very much. But we do see Tanner and his new girlfriend more.

excellent

OK, so this one had me looking at both Eden and her family in a different light. I kept thinking the same thing as Eden, that if you use black magic, it isn’t necessarily good. But magic is magic and it’s how you choose to use it that makes the difference. as Eden is trying to discover who killed witch in town, she meets someone that is like her. She also learns that her Bureau has secretive ops and she isn’t in the clearance which makes her a little crazy lol. I’ve never liked her grandma in any of the books, but now, I might see her a little differently. Let’s just say that this one took me by surprise!

Into every life, a little hell must fall...

So it seems for the heroine of the story, Eden Fury. Now, in addition to the ultimate dysfunctional family, her superiors throw in another kink, her equal and opposite? That's a good question. In addition to all the mayhem that is a normal part of her life, throw in a pageant and a murder to boot, and you have a great addition to the series.

A+ for the story. It's highly entertaining. A grade of B to B+ for the editing and one contextual detail.

Thanks again for a wonderful addition to the series!

Fury and Ice is Book 10 in the Federal Bureau of Magic series by Annabel Chase.

This series is amazing!

There is a murder behind the library and Eden Fury and Chief Fox team up to solve the murder. The murder also spurs the arrival of Alcina, a supernatural being who is quite the enigma. Eden can't get any information about her from home office. Alcina is also investigating the murder.

On a lighter note Grandma and Aunt Thora are participating in the Mature Woman competition to raise money for the senior center. This was laugh out loud funny!

I love the progression of Eden and Chief Fox's romance as they are still keeping it on the downlow.

This is a fantastic , well written book with dynamic characters.

Its #furytime and I cannot wait for the next book in this AMAZING series.

There's a New Girl in town

There is a new type of agent in town. Agent Fury doesn't have the security clearance to find out more. A demon has escaped from the underworld. Agent Fury is still hiding her relationship with Sheriff Fox. I love the level of snark in this series. The wit, the humor, so enjoyable. I need more. Read and enjoy!

Annabel Chase Is Pure Magic

Eden is called in by Chief Fox to help solve a murder. Their investigation is hampered when Eden’s polar opposite, also an agent with the FBM, shows up in town, and clashes with Eden. Ms Chase will keep you guessing until the end as to the identity of the killer. A must read!

So much fun!

Ok ,I confess; when reading a mystery, if I guess who done it, before the end, I take off a star. However even though I figured out the murderer before the end, I couldn't take away a star. This book is so much fun, I love all the characters and the story line. Watching as the characters evolve and argue is the best kind of fun. Thanks Annabel Chase !

Entertaining

Annabel Chase is a pro at producing a awesome cozy paranormal mystery. I have no idea how she finds the perfect balance between creativity and over the top but she does. I love how Eden realizes she needs to see her family differently and her new friend is kick butt awesome.

Annabel Chase is a great author is now one of my favorites. I don't think Eden mother and grandmother should be able to tell Eden who she can see. I think Chief Fox and Eden would make a great couple. If they tamper with him I thinks she should turn them in. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Book 10 and still going

How many ways can you say you are really into a series? I have struct rules about not revealing anything in a review and I never read the introductions on a book. They always give too much info.
But again, I am really into this series! And it would make a great TV series! Lol

Beauty and the Demon Murderer

I liked this book, but it was definitely not a favorite in the series. A murdered witch with shady connections, an unknown murderer, a senior beauty pageant, a supernatural on the other side of Eden's fury coin, and bureaucratic evasion. The mayhem never stops
