Have you ever met someone who makes your blood boil simply by existing? Or turn your notorious, ice-cool demeanor volcanic in a nanosecond? Perhaps smother your usual air of indifference with a lightning-charged thundercloud, threatening to strike at any moment?
Because that’s what she does.
It’s been seven peaceful years since I last saw Beulah Holmes. Seven peaceful years of practicing the law without her arguing against me, and if I never saw her again it would be too soon; but I'm not that fortunate.
She hasn’t changed a bit.
Still the same shouty mouth threatening to burst my eardrums. Still the same murderous eyes which laser through me, promising to reign Hell.
Except this time, the longer I have to sit opposite her, the longer I have to notice that the murderous eyes are also the most beautiful I've ever seen. And that shouty mouth with its full lips curled up in a snarl? I want to know what else it can do.
As each day passes, hating her isn't the only thing becoming harder.
Beulah Holmes was my own personal devil, until the day I realized she wasn’t...
And then I made it my mission to bring her back from Hell.

#thesuit is book two in the #tuesdayclub by @lulumoorebooks.
Rafe is tall, tattooed, and very intelligent. He might be part of a prestigious family of wealthy lawyers but he worked above and beyond for everything he achieved. He was no stranger to a competition, so when he’d been challenged day 1 by a fellow student it was game on. The hatred grew from there. Hoping to never see Beulah again was a dream. Until she’s the opposing counsel in a high profile case. Nothing makes his blood boil more than her. She’s consuming his thoughts and driving him crazy. So why can’t he get her out of his head for other reasons? Can they be civil working on a case or will the pent up anger explode into mind altering intimacy that changes everything?
Beulah has a stone heart plus coldness and determination running through her veins. She was told by her father some very important advice for law school which she continued to follow after finishing. Being second to Rafe wasn’t an option anymore. She was more determined than ever to win the case she was dragged into opposite the bane of her existence. Having to work with him drove her crazy. Crazy enough to let down her guard with her heart starting to thaw and allow herself to feel for the first time in years. Can she follow her feelings to have a fulfilling life her family would be proud of or is she going to stop at nothing to finally be number one?
So I really enjoyed the way the story ended up going. The beginning took a little for me to get into if I’m honest. But then it clicked. As much as you might not wanted to like Beulah, hearing her backstory made perfect sense. She was tough as nails and dominated her part of the industry. Rafe was laid back and enjoyed life but also worked his tail off. Hate and love can be easily mistaken, then when lust is involved you know it’s more. Love these groups of friends, seeing previous characters and some future ones as well (I see you Jupe). I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Penn next! Definitely recommend.
I am convinced that Lulu Moore can do no wrong!! Every single book I’ve read of hers has been a banger!
The Suit is the second book in The Tuesday Club series (and my personal favourite). It follows Rafe and Beulah’s story, and OH MY GOD the enemies/rivals to lovers in this book was DELICIOUS!
Just think about it. Two hot shot lawyers that have absolutely HATED each other for years get forced together, working against each other on a case.
All hate and tension (the good kind) all bubbling ready to explode!! And when it finally does… it’s ohhhh soooo sweet, or should I say spicy.
And if that doesn’t convince you to read this book I don’t know what will!
The Suit💚Book Two in the Tuesday club series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ *Never any spoilers* Lulu Moore’s beautifully written women and swoony alpha men never fail to disappoint and she strikes again with Rafe and Beulah. And I loved getting to know them both. Beulah isn’t who she seems and Rafe is everything you hoped he’d be. Plus her steamy scenes are just getting hotter and hotter. With cameos from a few of your old favourites a good old decade long feud and chemistry that sparks and sizzles from the very beginning you’re not going to want to put this down. I adored this book because this friendship trio is everything. “…a friendship running as thick as blood. A brotherhood totally separate from anyone else that everyone wanted to be a part of; yet only a lucky few were ever invited into their circle, and never permanently. “ Two down one more to go and I can’t wait to see what trouble Penn is getting himself into…
"My name is Rafe Latham, and that someone, that one with the berry red lips I want to throttle to within an inch of her life is currently sitting right in front of me, across the table and screaming at the top of her lungs."
This is an enemies to lovers/ academic rivals/ workplace romance which was very enjoyable to read. I didn't expect to like the book but the hate chemistry between Rafe & Beulah won me over. Their mutual hatred was real and whenever they butted heads, the entertainment was top notch! I loved that we got to see glimpses of their academic rivalry right from when they were in law school because it made me understand their dynamics a bit better. While Beulah was portrayed to be aggressive, she had a soft and lonely side that made me like her a lot. Rafe on the other hand was a good rival, who gave a tough competition but he also cared for her once he learned the truth about her past. I also liked the side characters especially Kit and the bromance between Rafe, Penn and Murray was adorable. Overall, this was a fun read with real enemies to lovers banter, lots of steam and a swoon-worthy happy ending!
The Suit is the second book in The Tuesday Club series. I enjoyed The Secret, the first book in the series, and have been waiting for the rest to get audio releases, so when I saw this audio was out (and on hoopla) I jumped in!
This whole series follow the same friend group, 3 guys who went to college together and have remained close since. This is Rafe’s story and in this one we get an enemies to lovers setup! Rafe and Beulah have been rivals since law school and find themselves on opposing sides of a divorce trial! We get a lot of hate and tension in this one with these longtime adversaries having to work more closely together, which was a lot of fun.
The friend group is great and I loved seeing the couple from the first book so much in this one too. The first book was pretty low angst so I did enjoy this one slightly more with the tension and real hate vibes between Rafe and Beulah. Plus I enjoyed that they’re both lawyers and seeing kind of both of their careers was fun.
The second story in The Tuesday Club Series. This is Rafe's book!!! Rafe and his college nemesis, Beulah. We met Rafferty, part of the Tuesday Club guys in The Secret and we got a glimpse of his distaste and college rivalry with Beulah. Graduating law school and parting ways was a relief to both of them, especially Rafe. Guess what, she's in his town working on a case and he's the other lawyer in the same case. These two are so explosive. Pent up anger, frustration, oh so much chemistry and I just ate up this story. These two were inevitable, they were put back in each other's lives for a reason, they just need to get over the messy to get to the good. I totally recommend this series. It can be read as a standalone, but honestly, to get the whole effect and enjoyment, read The Secret!!!!! Love seeing all the cameos from the Lulu world, love seeing the rest of the Tuesday Club guys. I CANNOT WAIT to get Penn's story AND I am dyin' for Jupiter Reeves story!
Lulu Moore does it again with the second instalment of The Tuesday Club. This time it’s Rafe’s story of faking in love that we get to read about.
I cannot tell you how much I live for the banter between the Tuesday Club boys. The trio’s dynamic is something I could read about all day long. Murray, the sarcastic smug one. Rafe, the quiet contemplative one and then Penn, the spoilt mischievous one that needs Rafe & Murray to parent him. They make me giggle every time they’re together.
This story follows Rafe as he goes up against his college adversary Beulah Holmes. And the results are explosive.
Beulah is hands down my favourite of Moore’s heroines. She’s strong, stubborn, driven and has a side to her that no one gets to see. Until Rafe does. There’s a particular moment of Beulah’s that really got to me. And Lulu wrote it so so well.
Then there’s Rafe Latham, who’s all hotness and manliness in a suit. He’s the quietest one of the group, and observes more than he talks. Which is probably what makes him master of the bookshelf sex !!! Dang was that scene a good one!!
This book is the first of Lulu’s to have a back story plot which I absolutely loved. This was more than a romance and it was a fun ride with Rafe’s team.
That being said, that’s where it lost a star for me, as much as the plot was brilliant it felt like it overshadowed the romance, and because of that I came away feeling like I didn’t really get to know Rafe as well as I should have.
As always with a Lulu Moore book, she delivers and her story’s are always satisfyingly fun!! But Murray is still my top Tuesday boy …. Until Pennington that is…
When Lulu writes a book, I know that I’m going to enjoy it. Her books make me happy and I was still surprised by how much I loved The Suit. This is my favorite book of hers so far. If you follow me, you know that’s a big admission because I have been hard core in love with Murray Williams since January!
I wasn’t ready for Rafe… That man has such hidden depths. He’s funny, witty, sweet & sexy. The description of his tattoos will live rent free in my head forever.
Beulah is his perfect match. She’s such a strong independent character who is hiding a world of pain and loneliness. This woman has suffered so much loss. My heart broke for her multiple times throughout the book.
Rafe & Beulah are opposing counsel on a divorce settlement. Their rivalry from college comes back in full force until the they discover there is so much more to their feelings for each other. I loved seeing their relationship shift from enemies to lovers. I was so happy to see Beulah become part of Rafe’s inner circle.
The steamy scenes in this book are fire! Beulah’s office & the first time at Rafe’s home are SO HOT!!!
Lulu’s ability to create characters that I want to know more about is one of the main reasons I love her books. We see more of Penn, Murray, Kit & Bell in this book along with some appearances from the NY Players. We also meet more of Rafe’s family & coworkers. I want more!
Teasers: There is a very descriptive scene for Jupiter Reeves at bat. I was biting my lip the whole time! We also get the setup for Penn’s book. It’s going to be SO good!
This book... THIS BOOK WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL... PERFECT! This was definitely my favorite Lulu book and one of my favorite books this year (also top 5 favorite romance books ever) When I say I like enemies to lovers books I mean this book. Rafe and Beulah HATE each other and they don't tell us constantly how much, oh no... they show it! And I live for it. The banter was immaculate 🤌🤍 I love how slowly we saw the transition from hate to love. I swooned and giggled with the romantic and steamy scenes and let me tell you it was scorching hot! I could gush about this book forever but I don't wanna give away spoilers, I'll just tell you to read it! You won't regret!
Thank you to Lulu Moore 💚 for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was such a delightful surprise and so much more than just an enemies to lovers romance. Usually I am not the biggest fan of this trope, because the reason for the characters to be enemies isn’t very convincing. In this case the academic rivalry made for a very believable animosity. Their rivalry goes back years and we are shown examples of how things played out between them in the past. The backstory of both Raferty and Beulah also provide insight as to why they were motivated to see each other as rivals and still do in the present.
The writing is engaging, detailed and descriptive. There are sharp and witty dialogues and sassy inner monologues. You can tell the author really made an effort to make the law aspect as realistic as possible and to relay it to the reader in a way that it didn’t feel like an info dump. It felt like a natural part of the story.
All the characters are very well fleshed out and detailed. They all have very distinct personalities and each have a role in the story. To me they felt like real people. I loved Beulah’s character, she is fierce and hardworking. And I felt a personal connection to her. I appreciate seeing her open up and allowing herself to feel, but her core character remained the same. She is a badass lawyer and all around strong character and I’m glad that did not change. She just became more layered. And I love how Rafe and his friends brought that out of her. Rafe is a dreamy character and I really like that he fell first. He is funny, witty and intelligent and the perfect match for Beulah.
The banter between the Tuesday Club boys and their friendship was a big part of why I loved this book. Their bromance is a major part of this book and just delightful. The plot was very solid and well thought-out. My only gripe would be that the friendships and plot left very little room for the actual romance. Their romance felt believable because of their history, but there was not a lot of relationship development in the present. Especially since their conflict got solved mostly through other people. But overall this did not affect my enjoyment of the book.
This is by far one of the best enemies to lovers books (that wasn't bully) that I've read in a long time. There was so much character development in this book for both Rafe and Beulah that was layered in with the steamy moments and tons of tension. The pure rivalry between the two began at Harvard Law and even though they had gone separate ways post graduation, they picked up that rivalry right where they left off years earlier once they found themselves as opponents once again. I loved the quips and jabs back and forth between the two. Beulah is the perfect FMC for Rafe in this story. She is intelligent, strong willed and she certainly can give as good as she gets while Rafe comes off as intense and overly serious. They each just can't seem to contain themselves when they are together which is the perfect recipe for tons and tons of spice!
I have to admit I was super nervous about where the plot was headed and at some moments it felt like they were never going to move past that rivalry and animosity between each other but as the book went along, we got to see both POVs as they each softened. There really wasn't a turning point for their story which was really fun and they didn't end up being overly mushy (so grateful for that!) You know what I mean... it always seemed super odd to me when super passionate enemies all of a sudden flip that switch to overly mushy lovey dovey. This book was perfect in that we got to see the build up to that ah hah moment for them and really got to experience their feelings with them rather than just having that one turning moment in the narrative. I loved how it was all written and I could even see how the movie would go as I read. I also really enjoyed the rest of the crew too especially catching up with Murray and Kit and seeing the start of Penn's story unfold. Lulu did a fantastic job keeping getting me utterly obsessed with Pennington and reigniting my need for a Jupiter book.
Such a lovely read. I really enjoyed this book, I think I actually enjoyed this book more than the first (The secret). I think I enjoyed this one more because I like Raferty more than Murray😂🙈I really loved Beulah and feel like Raferty is her perfect match.
I loved their story and liked the flow of it from the past to the present. The way Raferty treated Beulah was so sweet, He was so understanding and was for sure her knight in shining armour.
The way Lulu Moore wrote Beulah’s story was perfect. When we first meet Beulah we aren’t very fond of her but as her character develops you start to realized why she is the way she is, she is very strong and stubborn (for a good reason)yet still so broken at the same time. I loved the friendship that formed between Kit and Beulah’s, I feel that Kit really helped her (Beulah) realise a fee things and how Kit supported her through everything was so sweet🥺 The story also ends in the perfect way, the decisions made and the way everything gets resolved in the end.
Moral of the story: If your boss is an asshole… Quit and find someone who sees you for what you are worth.
I honestly can’t wait for The Show. I can’t wait to meet the girl who is going to take on Penn🙈🙌🏻
Book 2 in the the Tuesday club series, wow what a book Lulu Moore you are one talented author, Rafe and Beulah story was the best enemies to lover story I have read. Loved how you brought in old characters ( Drew, Felix and Jupiter) this book will have hooked from chapter one. 5massive ⭐️💕📚💕
THIS BOOK. I don't even know where to start but it was🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. First, the banter: This is not your typical enemies to lovers where they were never really enemies to begin with and then fall in love at 25%. NO NO. This is proper hate. AND I AM HERE FOR IT. Rafe and Beulah have hated each other since college, and the banter and game playing is so perfect, funny, and realistic. It felt like I was right there enjoying it... WHICH LEADS ME TO... Second, the CHEMISTRY: OOOF. When they finally get to it - hello, bookcase scene - I needed a cold towel. And it didn't stop there. Beulah broke my heart, Rafe mended it. Loved revisiting everyone again; Murray, Kit (yas gurl), Penn was effing hilarious (also excellent cameos from Drew Crawley and Felix Cleverly) ALSO, WE ARE GETTING ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE JUPITER REEVES BOOK! I CAN FEEL IT IN MY BONES.
Rate and Beulah have been enemies since their first week at Harvard Law and have hated each other with a passion ever since. The competed in every class and pushed each other every day.
Fast forward 7 years of avoidance and they are pitted against each other in a major divorce case. They continue to hate each other until one day the sparks fly. And I do mean FLY!
Lulu did an amazing job with these two. The chemistry was off the charts. Rafe is probably my favorite of her men so far and Beulah is such a miss understood character. You hate her, but soon learn why she is how she is. It was such an enjoyable experience watching the hate turn to love and admiration. I loved seeing all the past characters and watching Beulah gain a found family. I always love Lulu and this was no exception!
Lulu Moore - I just love your books and The Suit did not disappoint.
This is the second book in 'The Tuesday Club' series but also has links back into The New York Rangers Series.
This enemies to lovers story features old college rivals, Rafe and Beulah who absolutely detest each other and have not seen each other since they graduated years before from Law School. Rafe is a rich happy go lucky cheeky chap whilst Beulah is serious, career minded and has not got time to relax. They meet across a board room table when they become opposing lawyers in a contentious divorce case.
This book contains a lot of banter, fireworks, heat and chemistry as well as an unexpected HEA.
ahhhhhhh i have no idea the last time i had THIS many butterflies swarming my whole body while reading a book. Lulu really did justice to enemies-to-lovers and im forever grateful for that ❤️ Rafe is just… god, i cant even describe. the perfect mix of serious and goofy and i LOVE HIMMMM. Beulah was such a sweetheart for me because i related to her so much. i can NOT wait for Penn’s book because i alr know it will be great too 🥹 much love, you made my week w this book, Lulu. 💙
I really enjoyed this book and I thought it was a great enemies to lovers story, but I just feel like we didn't see enough of Beulah and Rafe actually getting to know each other and falling in love. It all seemed to progress very quickly without them actually talking? Rafe is absolutely one of my new book boyfriends. I will read anything by Lulu Moore. 4 stars.
FREAKING LOVE THIS. The mmc is not your typical alpha hole so that’s already a bonus point. The hate sex tho??? damn don’t need to tell me twice. my only complaint is that it is too short i need more of rave and beulah !!
⚖️ Rivals to Lovers ⚖️ Workplace Romance ⚖️ Found Family ⚖️ Self Journey
This book was on track to being a 5 star read for me until the end. The tension, conflict, journey was all great, but just fell short. There was an opportunity to really explore the emotional impact of the characters, but it was just described in a superficial way, and the grand gesture really didn’t do it for me. Sad.
Yet another book by Lulu Moore that I absolutely loved!
This book revolves around Rafe & Beulah who have been rivals since their Harvard Law days, competing for who would be first in their class. This long standing rival has now spilled into a case where they are on opposing sides of a divorce case. Let’s just say, that the story surrounding the case was so attention grabbing that I would have been fully emerged in this book even without the amazing relationship development between Rafe & Beulah. And their development is amazing.
Seriously this book is so good & is an amazing enemies to lovers, including all the hot fighting angst that goes with it!
Man, I love the Tuesday Club! 😭 I loved the first one more, but I think that is just because I relate more to those characters. I thought the relationship dynamic between them was great!
Wow Lulu you really crushed it with the enemies to lovers here. My absolute favorite trope and you did not disappoint.
•Enemies to lovers •Dirty talk 😮💨 •Billionaire romance •A little situation in the office (Iykyk 😏)
I had so much fun reading this one. The tension between Rafe and Beulah. The chemistry. It was so good.
And let me be honest, the fact that I got more of daddy Murray made it that much better. The bromance between Rafe, Murray, and Penn is so freaking cute. And speaking of Penn, I can’t wait to read his story!
If you haven’t read a book by LuLu, go now! There’s something about her writing style that makes me so so happy and you can find all her books on KU!! 100% worth it if you ask me 🙃
Rafe and Beulah have a rivalry that started in college. They outdid each other in papers, classroom debates, and tests, always ensuring the other party failed.
Rafe thought he saw the last of Beulah after she moved away. Until they face off across the boardroom from each other 7 years later.
This book smoldered and then erupted into flames. The tension between the characters was palpable, and when they finally succumbed, it was the best.
I loved how raw and real Rafe and Beulah were. They had faults and emotions, and they had motives for their actions. And seeing Rafe see Beulah in a different light and having her see him in a different light was catnip to me. I could not get enough.
Raferty Latham and Beulah Holmes hate each other. HATE. Even after 10 years, their feelings haven’t changed. So of course they get matched against each other in a divorce proceeding. There’s really nothing else like that enemies-to-lovers tension and the banter that comes with it. If you’re a fan of this trope, you don’t want to miss this one! I’ll admit, I didn’t like Beulah very much in the beginning of the story. She was cold and closed off. But Lulu beautifully peeled back her layers and showed readers who she really was. How she spends her Saturdays brought tears to my eyes and showed the person hiding behind the walls she’d built for herself. I loved learning more about Rafe’s character and how he built his firm. Cody and Diego were awesome secondary-character additions! But this series always goes back to the connection these three friends have forged over the years and I loved being back in this friend group! Other highlights for me: 💚 A secret door behind bookshelves? Only my dream come true!! 💚 Rafe and I love our pizza the same way - cheese only, please! 💚 Beulah’s courage and determination - I was really impressed by her actions at the end. 💚 Rafe’s gift to Beulah at the end…so perfect. 💚 The perfect amount of steam! Do yourself a favor and read this series! Lulu’s writing has only gotten better with each book and I am so excited to see what the future holds for her! Thank you to the author for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. P. S. - as much as I loved Rafe, I’m still solidly Team Murray! There’s just something about that sexy, single-dad thing. 😏
