Two Bodies in One

With looks to die for, Saika Kuozaki is the most powerful mage in existence and the only one who can thwart the annihilation factors that attempt to destroy the world once every three hundred hours. When Saika is mortally wounded, however, she bequeaths both her powers and body to the normal high school boy who happens to find her, Mushiki Kuga. Just because Mushiki inherits her abilities, though, doesn’t mean he can control them. To stand a chance of saving the world, Mushiki will have to attend an academy for mages as Saika—while trying to keep his true identity under wraps!

This is my one book a year I skipped. I was hoping for a decent intro to the light novel, but this just ended up devolving into what you might get if you had a teenaged boy write a soft porn novel. Thin on plot. All the female characters are basically vehicles for the main characters desire with no depth whatsoever. No real through-line. Just episodic excuses to get the characters in their underwear.

That the book is aimed at pre-teens and up should be enough to disturb.

Top tier

It starts out as a rather cliche story but there are a lot of great twists, each chapter is better than the last. The main character is kinda your typical dense but determined hero but not terrible, he grew on me. Look forward to volume 2

Gooner book… Incoherent plot, unnecessary “fan service,” and really weird love triangle/square that made it hard to stomach.

I mean, the most interesting thing happens in the last 20% of the book. But I think I will continue it in the future.
