THE BLACKSMITH AND THE SCHOOL TEACHER
The story is the final account of the Oregon Sky series and will bring two people back together. Grace Hamilton had been in love with Connor Wallace for years—but he left, wanting to make changes in his life. Now, Connor is back, but he has scars and is uncertain about what the future holds for him. Not only his body is damaged, but his mind needs healing. Connor must learn to trust that his family and Grace are genuine and their love will help heal him.
“Miss Hamilton says everyone is made different and sometimes what makes a person different is what makes them special. I think you’re handsome. It makes you look like a pirate.”
Grace: Connor Wallace, no one pities you, except maybe yourself. We all feel bad for how you got your scars but it doesn’t mean anyone pities you. It just means we care.
Connor: Grace, you don’t know what I’ve had to deal with after my accident. Maybe you all don’t realize the way you look at me sometimes, but trust me, I see it.
The story is a clean historical that will bring a man back to his hometown and until he gets over what he assumes everyone will see—he won’t be able to heal. With the help of his family and the love of a woman who believes in him, he will learn that life is more than outward appearance. I liked Grace and Connor together—and the secondary characters, especially the children, added a sweet touch to this story.
