This little volume of Greek Myths with black-and-white pictures by Ivan Arhipov was among my most treasured books as a kid. The imagery from these fantastical stories and the illustrations have made the greatest and unforgettable impression on me.

Ivan Arhipov had surely created his own version of Greek Myths' magic. And up to this day I can't imagine Greek Mythology without his talented and skillful pictures. They're the first images that come to my mind when I encounter something related to Greek Myths. It might be the first impression of a child that made his Art truly special for me, since all those pictures have wonderful memories attached - I believe I was 4 when my Mum read these stories to me. They were adapted for middle graders, the Heracles myths were my favourites :)
