Cunning, gorgeous, and wickedly possessive, Akim could have any woman in the world… But he chose me.
I told myself it would only be one time, But with a firm hand and strict disciplinary measures, He had me crawling back to him. Again and again. Begging.
I thought I’d be able to get away from him eventually, That I could mend my heart and start over, But I was wrong. Fate has sealed us with an unbreakable bond…
Reasonably well written story, (not fantastic, but have read much worse on KU). I felt like there were some notable flaws in the story and will try to put this constructively. Delilah's best friend, Regan, seemed like a strong and supportive best friend who tried to boost her up, but as soon as D started making decent money, there was a scene where all of a sudden Regan was a mean girl with her sorority sisters in tow to bully D. No alluding to this with small snippets of some personality to build up to this, which I felt let this scene down, especially as Delilah took delight in a bouncer putting R in her place and tossing the group out of the club - it was completely random behaviour (for both characters at this point). This had me thinking twice about carrying on, but I hung in there. This rift did open up to something else later on, but Regan wasn't developed well to play the part she did, and her one-off chapter also felt like a wasteful filler. We could have worked most of it out, or Akim's PoV could have wheedled it out of her. Then, Akim had also spent no time with Regan, yet he was saying Delilah doesn't get the chance to talk about herself with Regan - an unfounded comment in the story. A big error seems to be Delilah discussing her parents with Akim and stating that she was 8 when her adoptive mother fell pregnant, but then goes on to say she is 4yrs older than her sister - so did her mother pop out a 4yr old child? There's definite potential in this story, but I felt that it was weak and left me disappointed.
Terrible unrealistic dialogue. Awkward as hell. Jumps all over the place. Characters are inconsistent. Not sure if they are all 18 or this author doesn’t know how adults talk. So badly written. Plot is just bad. Narrative flow is bad. Steam is sudden and weird and not sexy. I got to 22% before I got embarrassed reading it because so awkward and stopped. I don’t understand what the hell this is supposed to be lol. Hero is not tough. He talks like a frat bro who looked up slang on YouTube. Heroine is just not well thought out. Like how do you have a sex scene two seconds in that brings zero heat or chemistry. I didn’t even know it was possible to have a sex scene that was so dry and boring. It’s just such a no and I have to assume all of these five stars are from very poor readers with some seriously low standards.
Delilah goes out with a friend to a new club that just opened up. She knew her boyfriend was cheating on just not with who and when they get to the club she finds out and causes a big scene. Just as she was leaving someone picks her up and carries her away to the office. Akim sets her down and starts talking about punishments for causing drama in his club. Sparks fly between them and soon they have a heated moment together. Makim usually is one and done with women but there's something about Delilah that he can't forget so when she comes back the next night, he spends more time with her. s it seems like things are going well between him a business associate causes problems and Akim makes Delilah leave. When she leaves she doesn't realize how much danger she really is in. Will Akim see his mistake before its too late? Will Delilah give him another chance?
This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Causing a scene causes her more trouble than she ever imagined
The Bratva's Secret Baby is an entertaining and good read. The story is about Delilah and Akim who spark off immediately and end up having some major toe curling fun. But that is only the start of things between them. I will say that I wanted to smack Akim more than a few times and then also shake some sense into Delilah. But overall this was an easy read.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
god, can we all agree that miss King over here is the queen of secret baby mafia romance !? this was such a quick read, i finished it in one sitting. after binge watching bleach, i craved for a different pace and thought about one of my fav authors. i was kinda in a reading slump so this book is actually the first book ive finished in a long while 👀 sorry but you must read anything by king !! she’s amazing !! 🤎
The Bratva's Secret Baby by Bella King. This is the story of Delilah and Akim. Delilah happens to meet Akim when she goes to his club. There Delilah finds out who her ex-boyfriend was cheating with. This causes Delilah to make a big scene which in turns has her being taking by Akim to does out a punishment for her actions.
A book about a girl who finds out boyfriend cheated on her with her sister. Then meeting the sexy owner and falling in love with her only to he kidnapped because of him.
It was a good storyline, but could have been executed better. There's very little character and relationship building. Not enough spice to offset the lack of depth. Time lines and ages were off. Quick read.
There’s no depth to the plot line and situations pop up out of no where and completely changes the direction. It’s confusing and shallow. I felt like I was getting whiplash
I thought the story had all the elements of a good mafia romance. I just felt the dialogue was a bit corny at times. The MMC also didn't act like a realistic Bratva character. Most often those characters are ruthless. Not in this book.
The book was wonderful written. I loved the characters and totally enjoyed the book. I would totally read Moe books from this author. I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
I loved Akim & Delilah’s book. It was an entertaining & exciting read. Didn’t want to put it down. I got a copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
This one sucks you in and doesn't let go. It covers almost every base of tragedy Delilah could have ever gone through!! It's fast paced but still gets you right in the heart
