Britt Andrews has done it again! She’s created this amazing world and I. Am. OBSESSED!!! The way Britt can just suck you into the story, is amazing. Seriously. Ever since her Emerald Lakes series and I heard that this book was coming out, I didn’t even need to check the blurb. It was immediately a one-click for me.

And of course, I absolutely loved Palmer and her guys (especially Misha.) These demons had me blushing 😅 Their dirty talk and the immediate attraction to each other is off the charts.

This book took me on such a unique journey that I don't think I was even prepared for half the shit that was thrown at me. Twists and turns, so much left hidden and not revealed, the frustrating thing with that is god my anticipation levels have spiked up for the next book!!

Robbed 95k through a KS for this duet

I can’t in good conscience give this book a good review until I get my refund.

Robbing upwards of 800 people, and only 40 of us want our money back. Just give it back and I’ll take down this review until then, let this comment be a warning to any future readers. You’ll find all you need on YouTube, reddit and threads in regards to the unreliability of this author.

I backed the KS because this book was good. It’s been two years.

SMUT + DEMONS + REVERSE HAREM + BADASS FMC = amazinggggggggggg!

I absolutely love Britt's Emerald Lakes series so I had HIGH hopes for DIMB, and she did not disappoint.

This story starts with Palmer. She has trained most of her life (after her parents' death) for this moment. The moment she meets The Exiled and starts to take them down. What she doesn't expect is for them to not only pull her in, become obsessed, but start breaking down her walls as well.

This is a fun, fast, twisted story of I shouldn't want you, but I can't stay away. She is literally tasked to take down these men, but they seem to keep a strong hold on her, even if she doesn't want it.

I loved how different all the men were. You could easily tell the difference between all the men in the harem. Misha is my fav - he's strong, pretty silent (except for with Palmer), and just a 7 foot demon that I want to cuddle. Overall, I loved all the men, except for one of them. But I think he's going to be the grumpy one that takes the longest time to come around.

What I loved the most was Palmer. She is badass, knows what she wants, and it's scared to be the strongest one in the room. She is such a fun FMC and I am so excited to see what more she does.

The story line is in congruent timeline as some of Emerald Lakes (i.e. you see Asreal and Laurie), so I am patiently waiting for the moments I know are coming!

THE SMUT IN THIS IS TOP NOTCH. Some of the men are in relationships with the other guys and other just with Palmer. But this is non stop smut. THE FIRST SCENEEEEEEEEEEEE ummmmm hello and thank you Britt.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and I am so excited to see the next installment.

TW: Britt does list some major triggers at beginning of book - abusive parent, mention of past SA, abusive ex, torture, violence, death
kinks: masks, primal, blood, fear play, stalking, tail play

4.5/5 plot
4.5/5 spice

Kinky, naughty gangster demons

Indeed 😈

”Do you like games, Palmer?” Ashland murmured, leaning in as if he could suck the answer from my soul. “Depends on the game.” “We want to hunt you,” Felix growled in my ear, startling me. I snapped my face toward his, eyes wide. “Hunt. Me?” I repeated slowly. “Beneath the club is a maze of sorts. We designed it for our… tastes.”

. . .

A husky moan left her mouth as I pressed our lips together. She tasted like cherries and beautiful nightmares.

I LOVE the Emerald Lakes series and if you have not read that you absolutely should cause it’s amazing. I already know that this series is going to be right next EL and that I won’t be able to pick a favorite.

Palmer is the type of badass FMC that you can’t help but to fall in love with. She’s quick thinking, witty, a total smart-ass, and gives 100% to her job. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it, I love a sex positive FMC! For all her strengths she’s not perfect and is certainly not without her flaws and trauma. She reminds me of a friend and that makes me feel like I know her even more than I really do from just one book. The next book is definitely going to be a ride for her and I can’t wait to see how she comes out of it.

Now for our wonderful eccentric group of men, The Exiled, the demons in Palmer's bed (well she’s in theirs really but close enough.) I will say from looking at the character art and descriptions I thought I’d have a specific favorite but I was so wrong. I like things about each of the guys, well not Rhodes but I’m sure I’ll come around to him.

The twins, Talon and Felix, are perfect polar opposites. Rhodes has a really good description of Talon that was just perfect and an instant highlight. Talon is a ball of energy that is hard to contain. Felix is very artistic and much more in his head, he definitely thinks things through a bit more.

Rhodes is the alphahole. I had a note early on that said “Poor Rhodes…” and a few moments later “I rescind that, he needs to take 2 chill pills and calm the eff down,” and honestly that kind of mood fits for him across the book. He doesn’t trust Palmer as far as he can throw her, and her smart mouth ticks him off to no end. He’s honestly the one I feel we learn the least about, which just adds to his alphahole allure. There are glimpses of things that make it clear, he’s been hurt and has some severe trust issues.

Ashland is similar to Talon in he doesn’t have a filter but he’s more dominant. The mouth on this man (honestly on all of them, again save for Rhodes) I was ready to volunteer as tribute. Despite his dominance, he absolutely loves when Palmer talks shit about him. He knows what he likes and is not afraid to go after it or express it.

Misha won me over very early on! He’s quiet but when he speaks he says so much. I feel we get the most info about his time in Besmet before they were banished. I can’t say as much about him because it gives things away but IF I was going to pick a favorite it would be him.

There is just something about the way Britt writes spicy scenes, they are so so good! This book is on fire with spicy scenes. All I’m going to say is the Lighthouse, 🥵🔥🥵🔥.

It ends on a cliffhanger and this one I feel is just shy of a “throw my kindle" cliffhanger. Especially because I feel like so much happens in the last 15-20% I didn’t know where the story was going and when it ended I had to sit and think for a moment.

I cant wait to see where the next book goes and what’s going to happen.

3/5.

hmmm i kinda liked this. a lot. the club scene was hot as fuck and so was the smut but some things felt a little overdone. particularly the dirty talk. it felt very “ooh im so macho and tough”. i liked all of the guys (minus rhodes he can kiss my ass) but misha and talon were my favs.

yes i loved this book and i’m very excited for the sequel but somethings annoyed me.
1) overdone dirty talk
2) that one rly weird scene at the end (idk how to make a single sentence marked as a spoiler so i cant put what happened but it was very icky imo)
3) the growling- … i get that they’re demons but why are they growling and roaring constantly
4) lowkey slut shaming in some parts
5) some moments felt very wattpad-y (that’s not even a word but i hope u get what i mean)

since that was all negative, here’s some things i enjoyed
1) fmc - #gaslightgatekeepgirlboss. i loved how feisty she was. i loved seeing her take control and be so hot while doing it.
2) smut - minus some cringe dirty talk, the smut was hot
3) club scene - the club scene was so fucking good idc!! prob one of my favorite scenes of the book. it was just so good to me… and the music that went along with it… chefs kiss
4) plot - the plot is meh during this book (they literally fight, drink, and have sex 24/7) but the ending sets up a really nice direction for the story to go in. i’m excited to see what happens next.
5) their nicknames for her sksjhde 🧎‍♀️”love”, “doll” … and others that you can find out for yourself…

edit: i’m coming back and i can’t decide if this book was cringe or if i loved it… like there’s some parts that are so cringey and bad and some parts that i absolutely adored.

ARC read/review: April 24, 2022

OVERALL RATINGS:
5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
5/5 🔥🌶🔥🌶🔥

Okay wow. I have had time to process and I am still processing as I write this review.

I am so glad that I was able to get a chance on reading DIMBIES earlier (thank you again to Britt & Robin 🥰).
This book has been on my want to read since I finished Emerald Lakes back in December.

We briefly met Palmer & The Exiled during Emerald Lakes book 4-5 I think? See, this is how you know I need to reread EL again 😂 because I binged the series in 4 days during Christmas Break.

But back to the current timeline, DIMBIES starts off about 6 months after the end of Magic of Eternity.
We have Palmer who works for that same agency Cam & Co were working for. She is besties with Cam’s brother Hunter (whom I loved so much) and her mission is to seek The Exiled and get them terminated.

My emotions were going through the wringer during this ARC 😂 I loved how Palmer is such a badass and gives no shits.
Felix, Ash, Rhodes, Talon, and Misha all gave me different feelings but I loved all of the same 🤩 There are different things between Felix/Ash and also Talon/Misha 🥵🔥
Rhodes was definitely giving me Sloane vibes with his alphahole attitude 😤😤 and I didn’t even like Sloane until the middle/end of Book 3 in Emerald Lakes.

This book gave me some realization that I missed this universe so much and I honestly can’t wait for the next book! This new series is definitely worth the read!

Palmer is an agent and her mission is to take on a group of demons called The Exiled. But instead of wanting to do her mission, she finds herself falling for those demons.

I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped on the floor a couple of times while I was reading this book. I started reading this book and I just could not stop reading it. I was so invested in this book and there was no way I could put it down until I reached the end. This book just fascinated me so much and kept me waiting to see what would happen next and I just enjoyed reading this book so much. This was just such an enjoyable ride and I had the best time reading it.

I’m a pretty easy to please reader, you say that a book is reverse harem and has demons in it and I will be here for it. But I absolutely loved how this book took on these tropes, everything about this book worked for me.

I really loved all of the characters in this one. I love Palmer, she was just so strong and cool and overall a lovely character. And I love Palmer, Felix, Talon, Ashland and even Rhodes. I liked how they were all super different from each other and each had their own personalities. They were just so well developed that it made me like them as characters even when they weren’t doing the nicest things.

This book was just so hot. I’m not over how good the steam in this book is. They were just all so good and I loved them so much. I loved how they were all super different from each other and how many different activities they included. Also I adored how there were MM moments during those, those were quite lovely too.

The way this book ends is basically torture, I cannot wait to see how this book continues in the next one.

This book just took me on a journey that i’m so excited to continue reading. I’m just so invested in this world and the characters.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion

Let’s start by admiring this absolutely amazing cover!! It’s just so pretty 😍 it’s partly what drew me into this book 😂 plus I recently read the emerald lakes series by Britt Andrews and absolutely loved them!! So I didn’t even read the blurb and pre ordered this beaut a while ago!

Ohh I love myself a psycho, let alone demon ones. I was hooked from the very start and right though till that cluster fuck of an ending!!! The downwards spiral is real guys!!! I need the next book NOW 😩😩 this book is going to stay in my head for a while. It’s all such a tragic mess at the end, so many secrets and lies!! And then BAM that happened and had me wanting to scream out in frustration! In a good way 😂 that’s how I know I’m fully invested haha… I have absolutely no idea how it’s all going to turn out. All I see in the future for Palmer is heartbreak and betrayal 🥺🥺 I just want to wrap her in a bubble.. much to her dismay as she is a complete and utter badass and would probably throat punch me 😂 she definitely doesn’t need protecting, as she proved!!

The exiled don’t mess around, their personalities are MASSIE!!! All completely different and bring something different to the table. The one thing they all have in common is their hotness!!! OMFG this book is 🥵🥵🥵 it’s actually insane 😅 literally!! Palmer is one lucky lady 😂 Talon is hysterical and the most unique character! Definitely a unicorn and one of a kind. Mishy bear I actually adore 😂 the big brute. I’ll let you unravel the other guys 😉 this book is quite extreme so brace yourselves 😈🔥🔥 I’m off to preorder the next book!!

Britt, you absolute psycho. I hate you, and I love you all in the same breath.

I've been looking forward to Demons In My Bed for what feels like forever, I think it was Emerald Lakes book two, I stumbled upon DIMB and thought, 'oh, now that's a book I need!'. And Britt did not disappoint. Palmer is spec-fucking-tacular. She's everything we knew she would be and MORE.
Don't get me started on the boys, UGH THE BOYS. How can you fall in love with characters in no more than two chapters? Hmm? Because Britt Freaking Andrews wrote them. That's how.

The story is Britt magic, as I suspected it would be. But the level of badass from these characters compared to Emerald Lakes is 10/10. Her usual sarcasm is potent in this book, and I lapped up every fucking second of it. I can't want to see what Britt has in store for the next installment, I just know it's going to be HOT, BLOODY, and DEVILISH.

This spellbinding book kept me in a chokehold the whole time I read. I couldn't do anything else once I started, and I'll be thinking about Palmer and the boys for a long, long, while.

I read this book because it was recommended by so many different people and platforms. Should not have done it.
Considering that the heroine was trained to be an assassin her whole life she is awfully bad at everything. She does not question shit, she sabotages her own mission and acts very impulsively, is naïve and very annoying. The male protagonists do not really have character traits, are basically the same , use some really weird language and tend to emotional overreactions. Very confusing and boring at the same time.
Also, if you run a shady, criminal mafia-ish empire that is illegal in all aspects , how can you have moral issues with lies and hate everybody who isn’t 100% honest ? Does not add up.
The plot was boring and way too slow-paced, all the back flashes were too drawn out and not really important. Smut was okay at best.
Felt like it was -in parts- a very very cheap version of den of Vipers.
Also, I HATE cliffhangers like that, should have been a disclaimer tbh.

Update: I actually just saw that this is the author who also wrote “Little Green vibes” - can’t say I’m surprised. If I had seen that before , I would not have read it 😅

So this girl has been training basically her whole life to infiltrate a specific group of demons. Considering that fact, it's actually amazing how terrible she was at being a spy. It would have made way more sense if Asrael just found her on the street and made her an offer she couldn't refuse. She literally walked in the door and it was just sex, almost no thoughts in her head about why she was supposedly there. Then she was like insane, crazy possessive girlfriend over these guys (and no she was not playing a character).

Maybe if the sex was toned down a bit and there was a smidge more detail in the backstory this could have been pretty good. A stalker, lying boss, exiled demons, ghost twin...all of that was kinda interesting and I wish there was more of it.

So you know how in every harem you have the pyscho golden retriever that's utterly obsessed?

Make it 4 of them! We are working on #5 I'm sold I want in also gimme Palmer.

I love her so much! And she is different without the pick me vibes. It's intriguing to watch her struggle with her internal monsters but try so damn hard to be strong.

While you could read this without reading The Emerald Lakes Series why would you? This is going on at the same time as Saige is getting railed by Thunder Daddy and his team. 🥵🥵 I miss them.

This story is a wild ride. There are some emotional moments where I wished I could hug each one of these characters. The struggle and personal damage they've all faced. I already feel so emotionally invested.

Palmer is a tough bunny and I'm here for her and her harems fuckery!!!

Also monster/demon peen is always better 🥵🥵

Ughhhhh whyyyyy did this end on a cliffhanger and there’s no info on a release date for the next one. Cuz I actually loved this and now will never know the ending?! 😩
Hmmmm maybe next month? Honestly hard to find a release date and it had a kickstarter for the duet… So weird there’s no actual date for release. Guess I’ll wait and see.

Palmer Vale is a an undercover witch for Montague Industries with an affinity for spirits (both dead and tequila), a zombie(don’t call him that) squirrel named Snake, and a mission to discover what exactly the Exiled are doing in Port Black.

PROS:
1. Palmer is an amazing FMC. She’s strong, independent, intelligent, confident, and determined. Even when she is defiant, it’s for a legitimate reason and not to just be oppositional.

2. The Exiled - All have fairly distinct personalities, Misha, Talon, and Felix stand out the most and seem to have the most story time.

3. This book is basically world building (If you read Emerald Lakes, same world but totally different vibe), and establishes the relationships among the Exiled and with Palmer. We meet quite a few side characters. Two of whom I knew would be impactful, but I didn’t realize how important they were until the last chapter.

4. Spice is A+++. Demon Maze and Lighthouse will never have the same meaning again.

5. Ashland, Rhodes, and Felix driving to the fight.

CONS:
1. MAJOR CLIFFHANGER AND MISCOMMUNICATION FOR ALL PERSONS INVOLVED. I repeat MAJOR CLIFFHANGERS.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting(the RH is a bit formulaic with one guy hating/distrusting the FMC and the rest quickly obsessed), the plots(subplots) are detailed and fascinating, and I can’t wait for the next book.

This was not DNF bad, but it wasn't enjoyable to read for me. I was surprised because of the favorable reviews and because there were elements with promise: reverse harem, interesting magic system, fun twist... but these characters felt almost like cartoons. Like they were all caricatures. I couldn't take anyone seriously and had zero emotional connection to anyone.

Oh my gods ! This was my first read by this author and to say I’m hooked is a understatement! I loved this story so much it completely sucked me in the writing was just so darn good the world building the overall story the characters I loved Palmer and her guys even the side characters were so intriguing down to the ghost who’s following Palmer around to her little sidekick a squirrel that’s half dead and is named Snake I laughed so hard at all the banter especially between the guys and the steam the SMEXY TIMES!!!! OMG soooo freaking hot !!! This was a book I needed to read I forgot how much I love paranormal romances and everything about this story reminded me why ! There is so much going on and answers I need and a ending that left my jaw on the floor and cursing this author respectfully of course lol I will definitely be reading this authors back list to bide my time while I’m waiting for book 2 but I’m so excited and can’t wait!

I’m speechless!! I though Emerald Lake was smoking hot. Heck nah Port Black is going to leave us in ashes. I love the sassy Palmer (we all want to be her). I can’t decide which Exile I want and love more! I’m leaning towards Felix but I really feel like it might change with each book. I am going to be in tears till the next one comes out. I would like to say that the author didn’t do a great job with describing her visuals, especially of each of the main characters. I liked that it was a reverse harem, and there was some connection between the FMC and each of the MMCs, but it ends on a cliffhanger. And you don’t get to piece the parts of the puzzle together in book one, and there’s no book two. Book talk overhyped this book as if it was completed as in a standalone or at least a completed series, but it was OK, but I would not recommend anyone to read it.

Britt 👏🏻 does 👏🏻 it 👏🏻 again 👏🏻

Port Black is a little darker than Emerald Lakes, but the demons are 🥵🥵🥵 and Palmer is 🔥🔥🔥 I love all these characters. I have been intrigued by Palmer and The Exiled since we met them in the Emerald Lakes series, but I was not ready for them!

The book is full of secrets and I need some answers. My mind was blown a few times and k was not prepared. Also, Britt brings the steam too. The Exiled are 🔥🔥🔥🔥 GIMMIE MORE!

I was obsessed with the Emerald Lakes series and was so excited to hear that The Exiled would get their own series too. But I wasn't ready for this. The demons are going to destroy me.

This story is so much more twisted and complicated than I would have though. I mean, we've seen The Exiled in the future already so how much could there really be before the craziness of Emerald Lakes? Wrong. I was so wrong.

The demons are 🔥🔥🔥. Palmer is bad-a. She tells it like it and is more than happy to put the demons in there place. But the storyline... Britt kept throwing new twists at us. My heart is breaking for the demons and for Palmer.

The book is full of spice and action. It sets up the world nicely and gets you invested so you have to find out what happens. My heart was racing the last few chapters of the book because it just kept coming. Everyone has been betrayed. No one knows what's really going on. It's all about to blow up. I don't know what I'm going to do until the next book.
