Received an ARC of the book. The story follows Skylar (previously seen in Hunter's book from the diamond doms series) and Matteo, a second son from a mafia family.

I really enjoyed the story but feel it jumped around a bit too much and left some unresolved issues. Has some hot scenes but readers should make sure to check the trigger warnings as there are several. Personally I feel there could have been a bit more of the raunchy scenes and the club, felt a bit brief but still very enjoyable and look forward to the next in the series.

This book crosses lines most may not be comfortable with, even in the mafia/dark/bdsm story lines.

This was my first book by this author. I received it as ARC and this is an honest review.
Overall, I enjoyed the book.
It felt slow at times, with some things never fully explained, but that's because the back story for the Main Female Character (Skylar) was probably explained in the other book she appeared in. The Main Male Character (Matteo) has a sufficient story and the side characters are explained just enough to understand without taking away the focus from the MMC and MFC.
Matteo is a second son, who sets up his own life away from his family drama with 3 friends who are also in mafia families.
Skylar is a pop singer struggling to regain her freedom (this is where I'm lost on her back story).
They met before she was famous, get reacquainted 5 years later and this is the story of how that happens and the drama that unfolds because of it.
Please, please, check the warnings for triggers and content before reading. (DV, knife play, torture, degradation are just a few. )

I really enjoyed this book about Matteo and Skylar. I love how we get a more in depth story about Skylar, who we met in the Diamond Doms series and who I didn't like very much. Throughout this story I started to like her better. This was kind of like a second chance romance between Matteo and Skylar because they met when they were both at Yale and then their paths diverted. Matteo is in the criminal business, but just lightly, while he tries to come together with the other main families who are considered competition through his family and Skylar is a famous singer who is trying to get her life back after events in the past. This book was super steamy, had a lot of kink, and I really liked the characters. It was adventurous and really fun to read. Can't wait to meet the rest of the doms in the nex story. I received a review copy of this story and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

This is the first book in this series, and this is Matteo and Skylar’s journey. Matteo is a possessive alpha, who is the second son in a mafia crime family, and Skylar is a woman he met and had two passionate nights with, and he is unable to forget her. Now five years later Matteo heads for Vegas with the second sons from three crime families, hoping to prevent a mafia was. Skylar is now a pop star, and when fate destines them to cross paths again, she is a destruction, but he cannot resist. This is a well written story with family, drama, emotions, intrigue, twists, forbidden lovers, and leads to a steamy and compelling page turner. I look forward to reading the next book, and I highly recommend this talented author’s work.
Be aware of the trigger warning due to the sensitive content!

This is a well written mafia romance and is a great start to a new series! The author brings strong characters in Matteo and Skylar and weaves a terrific story filled with tons of action, drama, danger and suspense. Add in the smokin hot chemistry, tons of emotions and all the twists and turns and you have an intriguing story that captured and held me from start to finish. She does a fantastic job bringing the story to life with her descriptive writing and delivers a wonderful story. I can't wait for the next book!

I absolutely love the story of Skylar and Matteo! Ivy has done an excellent job of introducing interesting characters, old and new interweaving their stories to create an intriguing story. This book has mystery, suspense, danger and steamy heat between Skylar and Matteo. At the end of this story the only thing you will want is the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book and all of Ivy’s books! She takes you on a journey you will remember long after turning the last page. I received an Arc copy of this book, this is my own honest review. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

ARC Review

Warning possible spoilers.....I haven't read the previous book that had Skyler in it to have her background but this book was good. Skyler is trying to get her freedom back to be able to move back to Vegas. She ends up seeing Matteo after 5 years and you could feel the sexual tension between Skyler and Matteo. I do wish there were more spicy scenes at the club who is owned by Matteo, but over all the ones that were there were great. Can't wait for the next one to come out. As always read the TW before continuing to read this one.

I’m going to be honest, when Skylar was introduced in the Diamond Doms series, I didn’t like her. She wasn’t someone I thought I wanted to ever read about again. I. Was. Wrong. Skylar has so much more depth than I previously thought and her range of emotions has me hoping to see a HEA novella later on! Matteo is dark and broody and sexy. I kept trying to put him in the same group as the Diamond Doms and then he would do a something to remind me that his people are darker, edgier and a little sinister! I’m here for it. The spice is 🔥🔥🔥! 10/10 for sexy BDSM and I love that Skylar finds out she actually IS into it. Definitely recommend!

This novel is a Mafia romance that focuses on Matteo & Skylar working through their problems, romance, overprotective, and always over the top alpha style man. This book is the first in the series that follow the sons of 3 different crime families making their way to Vegas and what a story it was! Ivy has the type of writing style that just brings you in and won’t let you go until the story is done. I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for a voluntarily written review!

DNF 45% the book was slow and the female character was weak and he was a bit of a douchebag at times. The BDSM parts of it weren't bad but if the female character tells the male character she doesn't like to do it then the male character needs to listen to her. He made her do things that she said she wasn't happy with. He would threaten her to have anal sex against her wishes. While she was at his club he gave her a pen and told her while she was at his club she would have to do everything he says. Even though she was not a member and she did not consent to it. But that should end outside the club. She was still wearing his pin that night and he told her she'd get down on her knees and suck him off and if she didn't he was going to pound her ass raw. Come on really??! I would have told him to f*** off and walked out of the door. Author if you have a character from a previous series it would be kind of nice to tell the reader that if you want to learn about a certain person's background you have to read book A. All that talk about what happened to Skyler, Hunter, and his wife totally had me lost. Next time author either include a prologue with a background of main character or do a Pre-Sequel of the character.

As an ARC Reader, this is my honest opinion. This was my first read from Ms. Nelson. I understood this book was to be released on 7/14/22 and since I found quite a few glitches in proofreading, there was no time to let her know since the book was actually released 7/1/22 and had only finished the book on the 1st. after receiving it on the 30th of June. Overall, the storyline and characters are well thought out and well rounded. You MUST like BDSM or this isn't for you. It's more then 50 Shades and leans towards the M of this genre. The prelude and many of the reviews give you a clear view about what the story is about, so there's no need to recap here. This has all the feels and has plenty of angst and turmoil. The average person doesn't associate with the Mafia or Billionaires so may not seem believable. Yet, Ms. Nelson did an admirable job in making it appear so. No cheating or cliffhanger and the story ends on a happy note. Enjoy

This book is the beginning of an amazing new series, Sin City Suits. It is gritty, daring, phenomenal and a page turning adventure. Skylar Cameron is a returning character from a previous series, the Diamond Doms, and it is fabulous to finally see her get a much deserved HEA with a hot, Italian mafia man, Matteo Bennet. There is mystery to be had in the telling of their story along with the danger that is always mixed into a tale by this author.

Welcome to the best bar in Las Vegas, Bliss, where the drinks are free flowing and people watching is the entertainment. Skylar Cameron, a famous pop star, needs to get to her ex-boyfriend, and make him see that she needs to be back home in the bright lights of Vegas. She's determined to get back the spotlight that was dimmed when she screwed over Hunter Novak. He kicked her out of his town and now he is the one holding all the cards. She can't be in Vegas without his permission.

Matteo (Trentini) Bennett is the second son of a Chicago mafia family. He and three of his friends are hiding in Vegas and trying to keep their noses clean. They have all taken positions working for Hunter Novak in different divisions of his many hotels.

Matteo is employed as a manager of Bliss, one of the most well known bars in Vegas. He is tasked with the job of keeping Skylar away from his boss for one evening only. When Skylar keeps evading the security guards around Hunter, Matteo must step in and confront the girl he had a short two night fling with when they went to Yale many years ago. He tries to keep his feelings out of the equation but that is impossible when it comes to Skylar. He removes her from the bar and finds her a room for the night but there is a slight problem when Skylar follows Matteo and she sees something she was never meant to witness. Now he has to find a way to make sure that his secrets remain buried and Skylar is safe. Skylar found out so much more about her old fling the night she followed Matteo. The sandwich shop he ended up at is a front for a sinful club that is exclusive and not just anyone can gain entrance. For her to be allowed in, she must agree to wear his pin and be marked as his. She will be his to pleasure and his to punish. Skylar must agree to call Matteo "Sir" and kneel at his feet if she wants to enter through the doors of his club. Whether or not Skylar is ready for the High Card and a relationship with Matteo isn't the only challenge the two will face. Someone is out to remove Matteo from the face of the Earth. Will they figure it out before the enemy eliminates Matteo?

This book does not disappoint in any way. There is high drama and mystery to go with this roller coaster ride of excitement.

Good start to a new series. I have to say this is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m looking forward to reading more. It probably would have been useful to read the previous series of Diamond Doms as the main female character Skylar does feature in one of these stories Mine and this would have helped me understand the backstory and character better. But this was my mistake and didn’t take away from the overall story. Also please heed the trigger warnings, they are there for a very good reason.

This book features Skylar and Matteo. Matteo is a typical alpha male, the second son of a prominent Chicago Mafia family. Skylar is the sister of his friend and they met five years previously at college. Although their time together at college was brief boy did it leave an impression on both of them. But Skylar became quite the pop sensation when a video of her singing her song went viral. Unfortunately things happened in another book which meant that Skylar was in exile stuck in LA. She took the chance to go to Las Vegas to finally hash things out was Hunter Novack and get her career and life back on track.

Matteo stepped away from his day to day dealings with his family. He had a good thing going in Vegas, he’s flying under the radar using his mothers maiden name. Not only had he got his legitimate job of bar work in Hunter Novak’s hotels he also has his own very special and very lucrative BDSM private club he’s set up with three of his friends. They are all the second sons from three different crime families. Whist they are never going to be on the right side of the law they are determined to do things their way and create something special in Las Vegas. Their aim is to make it a kind of neutral ground for the various crime families. But with the fall of the Russian organisation things come to a head with Matteo’s family.

He and Skylar have just found each other again and the chemistry between them is off the charts. The scenes between them are fabulous. But with competing agendas as well as intrigue and betrayal from those closest to them and the fires that Matteo and his friends have to put out to try and prevent a war as well as keep those they love safe. This book raises lots of questions but not all of them are answered in this story and I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens next.

All in all as stated above great start to a new series, it’s quite the page turner and keeps you wanting more. There is a depth to the characters and the story is well written so your invested in their story. I’d highly recommend this book . I received an ARC of this story and this my honest review.

High Bar is the first book in the Sin City Suits series. It is a second chance romance between Matteo and Skylar and is part mafia, forbidden, and BDSM romance.

While in college, Matteo met a girl and fell hard and fast in just one weekend. He didn’t realize that she would leave his life just as quickly as she came. Heartbroken and needing to build a life of his own away from his family, he moves to Vegas with three friends. Together, their goal is to build an empire that creates neutral territory for the different crime syndicates to relax or conduct business without concern for enemies and bloodshed.

Skylar was visiting her brother at Yale and met a guy, and they spent the weekend together. They enjoyed each other’s company, and she even played/sang for him. Skylar didn’t expect to have her dreams handed to her, but it happens when a man presents the offer of a lifetime. Without a second thought, she seized the opportunity, not knowing what it’d cost her.

Years later, Skylar and Matteo are thrust back into each other’s lives. She is now a famous singer, and he is a bartender/club owner. As the story unravels, they learn more about their past and lives since they last met. In doing so, they must get to know each other as they are now. Will they like or be able to handle what they learn, or will it end the same way it did before?

I liked this story. The story is well written, and fun with some spice sprinkled in. The characters, too, are fun and incredibly passionate, for better or for worse. I liked Matteo. He had a strong desire to live without the help of his family or his father’s name. In doing so, he set himself up to live the life he wanted with whom he wanted. He created his own family on which he could rely.

It took a moment, but I grew to like Skylar. I loved that she learned from her past dealings with Hunter and demanded he gives her what she wanted. She even won over Trinity. Furthermore, I thought it was incredible that she decided to take control of her past by covering her scars. She did it in a way that was meaningful not only to her but also to Matteo. It was a simple yet beautifully romantic choice.

High Bar is a great start to a series (Sun City Suits). With appearances by past characters, this is sure to be a hit for fans of Ivy Nelson’s previous work. I look forward to seeing what is in store for this new series.

I hated the FMC in the beginning. Just had to get that out there. She got a bit better, but not by much.
I feel like the whole plot was just missing .. idk
This is book 1 in the series but obviously the FMC has a past with a side character in the story and its part of the story and mentioned A LOT but never explained. So there is this whole ass mystery of what she did. Also, the MMC and the FMC have this history that was 1 weekend in college that is mentioned but never really given much on. It feels like there was a whole book with all these details that is missing, but it was never mentioned that there was a book that should've been read before this. The book starts 5 years previously and you would expect it to be about their weekend together then her leaving and him moving on ... but no its just about him and the guys being excited about their club.

The spice. The MMC is a kinky bastard and I love it. Although its a bit off. The scenes feel rushed and not really put together. He is doing his kinky things but not really at the same time because he's letting her get away with so much. So he is treating her like a submissive but only partially. He makes comments like if this were anyone else I would've .... 'insert punishment, demand or command here'. It's like that for most of the scenes, its like he's just trying it out with her but never fully committing and its weird.

I feel like we get no closure to the other issues that is going on. All we know was that his father was killed and they think it's his brother who is blaming another family and 2 of his partners are now MIA. So everything they have built is crumbling. Also there was shit with his shipments and threats on his life and all this stuff that was assumed but not really confirmed. I have a feeling that book 2 will pick up some of this, but I feel like a lot of this should've been resolved in this book because book 2 will just bring up issues with guy #2's family.

IDK. It just doesn't feel finished or well executed. I kept having to force myself to pay attention. There was no connection with the characters either.

There are inconsistencies about some of the things said. She said that she hadn't really thought of him in the 5 years. She's always been on his mind. But then she said she never forgot about him.

This is a dark mafia romance. You need to head the warning in the book because this book will cross more lines than some readers might be comfortable with and it will contain triggers for some too.
This is the story of Matteo and Skylar. He is the second son of a Mafia family from Chicago and she is a really popular singer who also comes from a Mafia family. These two meet in college but when they were finished with school they parted ways. However, he took a huge step for her in helping her launch her career. It was the least he could do for the girl he loves. Matteo finds himself in Vegas opening a BDSM club with three other mafia son's and it is meat to be a place of peace and neutral ground for the families. Their club so far is a huge success and something they are all proud of. Little does he know that Skylar is in Vegas too trying to bring back to life her music career never expecting to meet up with Mateo again. These two have some really amazing chemistry too!! Sparks will be flying all over your kindle. But life is never that simple for a Mafia man and he has a lot on his plate that involves family business and he is very serious about being a success at anything he does. Skylar is very determined to and she and Matteo will light the Vegas strip up even more than it already is. But this time will they be able to make it or will he have to let her go again? Or is he is able to keep her will it start a war? Well you have to read to find that out. I really loved these characters and the story that they had to tell. There are lots of twists and turns and as I have said sparks flying all over the place.

High Bar is the first book in Ivy’s new Sin City Suits Series. Ivy’s books read as interconnected standalone’s. However, it is highly recommended to read books in order for maximum enjoyment. If you read Mine, Skylar, will be a familiar face. Ivy includes a trigger warning in her Author’s Note. So, if you are new to her- I would take a look. This is my first read by Ivy. As a fan of the darker side to romance I was intrigued to step into her power play world. I am also a huge fan of series. This book introduces us to the owners of High Card, which is whom this series will be built around, and the ending of High Bar is left slightly cracked open. Meaning you are going to be filling your TBR to get all the tea. Ivy is very detailed in her writing. I found the angst low, the intrigue high, and the smexy just right. My interest is definitely peaked and I will be doing a deeper dive into her Diamond Dom’s.

Matteo and Skylar met six years ago. A wild weekend just as Skylar’s dreams of stardom came true. In that time Matteo and friends have opened their dream club in Vegas. Each living under the radar of their mafia familial ties. And, just as fast as Skylar’s star rose to fame, she managed to be her own worst enemy.

Skylar Cameron is visiting Vegas under the guise of supporting her boyfriend. The reality is she is desperate for a meeting with the man who has control of her career.

Matteo is tasked with babysitting her.

Their connection hasn’t dimmed.

Only Matteo wants her to give up control to him and Skylar is extremely tired of men telling her what to do.

But, as she begins to reclaim her life with a four month residency at The Oasis, she opens her mind to explore a power play relationship with Matteo.

Matteo and his friends have worked hard these last years to forge relationships with the underworld they grew up in. As they are on the verge of achieving the neutral territory in Vegas they have been working towards with the other families, it is Matteo’s own that could cause it to crumble.

Oh yes, Ivy Nelson has a new series, Sin City Suits, and High Bar kicks it off with a bang! Matteo and Skylar’s story has mafia elements that bring danger and mystery into the mix leading to a roller coaster of a story. This book will have you guessing and sets up the next story well.

There are even some character links to Diamond Doms in High Bar. Not to worry though, if you haven’t read that series because it isn’t required to enjoy this book. Note that there are TW and CW’s provided by the author. If you have triggers, be sure to check them out before proceeding.

The book was well written and the story was interesting. So why did I rate it 3 stars? Personal preference. If you’ve read other Ivy Nelson books, then you’ll know the broad strokes of the nature of the relationship between the H/h. 😉 While I enjoy many of Ms. Nelson’s books and the general theme, this one delved into some areas that aren’t for me. Yes, I was calling ‘Guitar Thief’ in some spots of the book. 😂 I still enjoyed the book overall and I will continue to read the series, this one just wasn’t my favorite by this author.

This is the first book in a new series that is interconnected but each is a story within itself, this is Matteo and Skylar's. Matteo and 3 of his buddies are the second sons of Mafia families and as such put together a club and business in Las Vegas as they see will be a Neutral ground once the Russians are gone. The book explains this in a quick prologue and then skips ahead 5 years. That is when Sklyar and Matteo are reunited after an unforgettable weekend which ends when Sklyar breaks Matteo's heart.

They are instantly attracted to each other again and the dirty talk from Matteo is hot as well as his desires for Sklyar. I like Matteo but he is a possessive man which might not be for everyone, Sklyar has a hard time with this but works it out for the most part. Matteo is just not so sure if it is a good idea to get back with her but he can't help himself when they are around each other. Sklyar is trying to get her music life back on track after a bad experience with an ex who basically has her hands tied due to her bad decisions (which I think is in another book series from Ivy) and doesn't want to get tied to another man making her decisions but finds out that her life decisions for the most part are hers but her bedroom decisions and relationship is his.

Their is plenty of Mafia side story and I am curious to where this is all going to go in the other 3 books which will be in this series. This book feels a lot dirtier than the other series I read by her but I enjoyed it and will continue to read it. Do read the trigger warnings, this book might not be for everyone.

Il primo atto della serie Sin City Suits vede come protagonisti Matteo e Skylar, lui di giorno lavora come barista in un Hotel di lusso, lei è una pop star. La loro storia è particolarmente intensa, dopo una breve relazione ai tempi di Yale, i due si ritrovano a distanza di anni e per Matteo è come se non fosse cambiato niente. Skylar è tornata in città dopo un esilio forzato con la voglia di ricominciare da dove ha lasciato. Purtroppo i problemi non sono finiti, la ragazza dovrà fare i conti ancora una volta con il passato, ma questa volta non combatterà da sola.
Non conoscevo Ivy Nelson ma devo dire che mi ha conquistata con il suo stile preciso e incisivo. La storia è bella e intrigante, il mondo della malavita viene descritto in maniera puntuale e accattivante. Passione, intrigo, sesso, potere e suspance sono gli ingredienti che, dosati alla perfezione, contribuiscono alla perfetta realizzazione del romanzo. Wonderful read, great characters and a wonderful scenario making captivating reading
A very enjoyable first book in this series that I loved every moment of. It was a slow build but the characters and the plot were written extremely well. You feel yourself being drawn into the pages of this amazing book and also it was a Mafia story which is a category of stories I thoroughly enjoy and this ticked all the boxes.
Matteo and Skylar are originally from very different worlds and initially the interaction had caused her a good deal of problems, Matteo is a part owner in a BDSM club and she wants to discover as much about him as possible but too his knowledge had no idea of his enjoyment of kink.
I do not want to spoil this read for other and I hate to give away anything that would spoil the read for future readers, I am sure that like me you will enjoy every moment of this book like I did.
I do not want to spoil the plot so will say no more about the three of them, I assure you that you will enjoy every single moment of this book.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

A captivating story when Sklyar and Matteo meet again, the sparks fly, the passions is sizzling and the exciting bsdm Club Sin City Suit’s club “High Bar” is open for business. Skylar Cameron was big part in Hunter’s book so it’s good to see her redeeming herself. She remembers spending a weekend she can never forget in high school with Matteo and then left with Hunter to become a famous singer. As fate intervenes these two meet again in Vegas. Sklyar is trying to get her life back on track after her mafia father went to prison, enjoy sin city and High Card with Matteo getting reacquainted. Whether she’s ready for the club or not Matteo needs to keep an eye on her after she Matteo witnesses’ a sketchy business transaction. The problem Skylar is back, but will Matteo do everything in his power to keep her this time? I voluntarily read and reviewed this excellent story.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "HIGH BAR" (SIN CITY SUITS) I was completely absorbed in this book so full of suspense, intrigue, danger, mystery, steamy scenes, emotional turmoil, rollercoaster ride of intense drama, twists that have you turning the pages.
Matteo Bennet is the second son of Chicago Mafia Family his three friends are working for Hunter Novak trying to stay out of trouble, Matteo take the position of manager of Bliss a well known bar in Vegas.
Skylar Cameron now a Pop Star spent two hot steamy nights with Matteo one they both haven't forgot he's suppose to keep her away from his boss Hunter for one night takes her away from the bar to one of the rooms but she ends seeing something she shouldn't have on the way.
Matteo has to make their secrets aren't reveaked & keep Skylar safe she knows more than she should about Matteo & what he does for her up get into their club she has to wear his pin & marked as her belonging to him she must agree even if she doesn't want to.
I definitely recommend to get this on the edge of your seat story someone want Matteo dead will they figure who the enemy is before its to late will they get a HEA in the end you must get this book to see what happens I'm so looking forward to the next book in this amazing new series. PHENOMINAL READ!!!!!

I went back and forth in deciding what to rate this story. It couldn't put it down, but I was thrown at the beginning by the sheer number of characters that got thrown at me right away. I had to make a list just to try and keep who was who straight. Still needed to refer to it a few times to remember which guy went with which family. I could understand if this was book 3 or more in a series - things have been established and you are jumping in. This is book one, so I would expect more layout and explanation for people new to this world. I had read the series with Hidden set in DC and On the Rocks where I saw Hunter, but the rest was new to me. For that reason I rated it down one star.

Moving on from that, I enjoyed Skylar and Matteo. They met for a weekend in college and she got her big break because of him. They went their separate ways and now they are thrown back together and both have some serious baggage that they have racked up during their time apart.

Matteo has definite expectations of what his girl should behave like. The problem comes when it sidelines her instead of making her is partner. That is not going to work for Skylar. With the danger mounting, can they open up before their second chance is over?

I look forward to reading the next story.

The story starts off slow. It first introduces Mateo and his friends at their underground BDSM club that they start together in Las Vegas. Mateo and his friends are all part of different mafia families and they don't want to be involved with their families. They spend the next five years building a life while waiting for the Russian mafia to finish crumbling. Fast forward five years, the Russian mafia is gone and/or in jail. Has the group works out the logistics of taking over, Mateo's past rears its head in the form of a former flame.
Skylar has been banned from Las Vegas by her ex-fiancé but found a way back through her soon to be ex-boyfriend who has a major MMA fight coming up. Skylar has wanted to come back to confront her ex-fiancé to get her life back on track with her singing career. What she didn't expect is to run into Mateo.
Both can't resist each other but Skylar has issues with Mateo's controlling and possessive nature.
Must read to see how Mateo and Skylar work through their differences and how they each handle the sex side of their relationship. Also see how Mateo's family tries to cause trouble and if they succeed.
Can't wait for book two.

I fell in love with the characters and the storyline for High Bar - the first book in the Sin City Suits series. A series this reader can’t wait to devour. The book is well written with characters that drew me into their world. 4 Best friends who are all 2nd sons from 4 different Mafia families. 4 Alpha men who didn’t want to be a part of the mobster life so they got together to attempt to create a neutral place for their families in Vegas. But will the head of the families go along with this or attempt to take over?

This is Skyler and Matteo’s story and boy did the author ever give us a dandy with them. They met briefly 5 years ago and had a magical 2 nights. While he’s moved on with numerous flings, he’s never truly forgotten her. Skyler is a famous pop star. When she shows up in Vegas, Matteo knows she is a distraction with her pop star status that would destroy what he and his friends are building, but staying away from her is harder said than done. With dangers all around can these two find a way?

PLEASE heed the authors warnings in the front of the book (see the Look inside on AZ), there may be triggers for some. I personally found the book to be very well written and these scenes done very well.

New series and Ms. Nelson does it again!

I love a good Mafia story, so this one was a no-brainer. Throw in some BDSM elements (softcore or hardcore) and I’m sold. The set-up for the next books in this series was good, and I’m looking forward to delving into the rest of them.

This was a second-chance romance, so it was interesting to see how far both Matteo and Skylar had grown in the 5 years they were apart. The heart wants what it wants, that’s for sure.

That being said, I struggled with their relationship dynamic. Matteo is a Dom, clearly. But Skylar is not a sub. She did try to be what he needed her to be, to her credit. I don’t think he understood or even acknowledged that it’s not in her nature to submit. Given her background and current profession, it’s not something I would expect from her. If this was Ms. Nelson’s intention for Skylar’s character profile - then mission accomplished! Because while they ended up together in the end, I’m not entirely convinced that they will stay together. This is only Book 1 of the Sin City Suits series, so I look forward to being proven wrong.

This is the first book in this series. It features Matteo, one of four owners in an underground BDSM club in Las Vegas. He and the other three co-owners are each from an organized crime family. They are trying their best to start a safe haven in Las Vegas free of the more sinister crime schemes. They each have straight jobs that give them a legitimate income. They do some money cleaning and some personal protection. Matteo’s “day” job is a bartender in Hunter Novak’s casino/hotel chain. He gets a promotion to VIP services. And on his first night he is assigned to keep Skylar Cameron away from Novak and his wife Trinity. There is some back story to that. But she is a pop singer who is on permanent hiatus and is in exile in Los Angeles because of her history with Hunter. She also had a one night stand five years ago with Matteo. Can they make it work with their second chance? Will Hunter relent and give her life back? This story is full of action, suspense, and steamy romance. I fell in love with this couple and I have high hopes for this series. I did receive an advance copy for my honest review.
