“Cosa stai facendo?”

Oh my goodness I adored this instalment just so much, I ran such a gauntlet of emotion during this and as I raced towards that finish line I has such a massive lump in my throat. The emotion, love and tragedy here had my fighting back the tears: I lost by the way and as this story drew to a close I was sobbing like a baby. This one is all about Caro and Sethio, Caro a seraphim sent with a message for Osiris is waylaid by Sethio, Osiris's son. His original plan to have some fun and then send her on her way is obliterated due to a prophecy that sets both there destiny's on a collision course and with them now sharing a common goal and enemy new alliances are formed and loyalties forged. I was really looking forward to this one just because of all the hints and teasers that we have been exposed to along the way and with this instalment, all the pieces placed on the chessboard start to make so much more sense. I also adored the sexual energy this one produced especially Sethio being somewhat of a sadist. The knife play here I found super sexy indeed. This author is definitely now a strong favourite of mine she just delivers consistently every single time. Another great addition to this enthralling series. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Blood Bonds (Immortal Curse #5).
Blood Bonds has all the feels!!! From Sethios and Caro’s flirty banter that gets hot and sexy to suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat, this book was amazing! I could not put it down. I had to know what was going to happen on the next page. Can’t wait to read more in this Immortal Curse Series!
I really enjoyed this book and I’m glad that we’re finally getting answers to some of the questions in the series! Can’t wait to see what happens next!
I went into this story knowing that my heart would break, but da-yum was the journey worth it! Sethios and Caro are Stas's parents and this is the tale of how they met, how they fell for each other, how they created a child, their entire saga amidst the chaos, murder and mayhem of Osiris's reign of terror.
✩ Sethios is the son of Osiris, but there is no love lost with this family. After being alive for several millenia, doing dark deeds and sleeping with loads of people (both men and women because... options), Sethios was bored. There was nothing out there to surprise him anymore. And then Caro walks into his life, with her skill with knives and her immortality, looking to cause him harm and giving him the chance for new experiences. ✩ Caro was a young seraphim, tasked with delivering an edict from the High Council to Osiris. However, what she didn't know, what Sethios saved her from, was Osiris's extreme dislike of messengers. The last one was tortured and is presumed dead. Not the fate Caro would want or the one Sethios seemed to want for her. He soon recognizes that there's something special about Caro and while she tries to remain the stoic seraphim she's always been, there's something about Sethios that makes her take a chance. He introduces her to sensation, pleasure and emotion. Together, they were full of surprises and kept each other on their toes. They were so in tune that for two beings that never envisioned spending eternity with another, somehow couldn't imagine spending forever with anyone else. ✩ The prophecies are such bull! I'm glad the author revealed the big picture (at least as it led to Stas's creation) even if I'm now questioning what will happen next. I'm thrilled to know that I was right about both Stark and Ezekiel. I can't wait until all of the other characters get to be part of the reveal and when the truth of Stas's true essence is shared. Excited!!
I'm steadily waiting for the final showdown and I'm really hoping Caro and Sethio get to be a part of it. They more than deserve their shot at vengeance. This story was charming and sexy and sorrowful and even funny and I'm looking forward to the next book (which I already got), Angel Bonds.
Wow! Just wow! This is the 5th book in the immortal curse series and i don’t know how it just keeps getting better and better. First off this book is HOT, but all the emotions in this book are above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. The story has so many shocking reveals and amazing characters I couldn’t get enough. This story is brilliantly told and I’m in awe of the authors skills to make me feel everything as the characters do.
Shredded - Emotionally Bankrupt - Raw These are just a couple of the emotions I felt as I closed the pages of Blood Bonds What have you done Lexi? 😭 This is the fifth book in the Immortal Curse series - If you have not read the previous books please 🛑 right here and go back - You will thank me later - I swear. As for spoilers 🤐 Blood Bonds takes us back- Back to the beginning - Back to relive the events that would trigger the ultimate sacrifice - A sacrifice that would decimate 💔 the lives of a few to ensure an eventual turn in the war that would favor the many There are so many breadcrumb trails that are finally picked up with Blood Bonds - and OMG the secrets that are revealed - this was a non-stop rollercoaster ride from the beginning to the end As for Sethios and Caro - their love story reads a bit like a Shakespearean tragedy - Two factions - Two hearts - One fatal ending Sethios is the ultimate example of a perfect male specimen - all Alpha all the time and don't get me started on what that man can do with a 🗡️. His character radiates a presence that literally leaps from the pages. Caro - She is dedicated - She is highly skilled at kicking @ss when it is warranted - and once you peel back her layers - Hold on because chit is about to get real! I can not express how much I truly enjoy this series 😍-the writing style- the characters- the plotline - 10 🌟 series - One of those rare must own series that will never leave you disappointed
Review edited 27th July 2020 after listening to audio version.......
Wow, what a brilliant heartfelt, emotional, beautiful but heart breaking story of reveals and revelations this was. It absolutely captured me, I loved it so much, but my heart is hurting now!!
That was my initial reaction after reading Blood Bonds and now almost two years later after having just finished listening to the audio version, it still stands.
The two narrators were excellent, their expressive voices brought this story to life giving me a very different but equally fantastic experience from the ebook.
Blood Bonds is the story of Sethios and Caro, Stas's parents, their unconventional and unexpected journey and the sacrifices they must make for love, to keep their daughter safe. Although this is technically a prequel, I would advise reading the series in order, there are reveals here that I think would take away some of the suspense from the earlier books, but to take nothing away, this book was simply awesome!
I loved both Sethios and Caro, what a man Sethios is, a dominant alpha immortal who takes what he wants but is fascinated by the apparent innocence and lack of emotions from Caro and is determined to crack her hard shell. She has a wonderful journey of enlightenment, not all in the world is as she thought and her curiosity grows. Sethios is harsh at times, but his protective instincts soon kick in when both their lives are threatened and Caro is a lot tougher than she first seems. Their chemistry grows and their passion is sooo hot!
Would I recommend this series? Absolutely, Lexi C Foss is a phenomenal writer and is weaving the most amazing story full of depth and character. Just when you get an answer, two more questions pop up! I don't know where it's going, (I wish I could see inside the authors head) I only know I'm hooked and can't wait for what comes next. 5 huge stars
Imagine you were bonded to someone in a way that you can feel all their feelings? Imagine the bond is for all of eternity and breaking the bond is painful. This book explains all of that. It's the story of Caro and Sethios, Astasyia's parents and the events that led up to her birth. We also get more back story about Ezekiel, psycho Osiris and Gabriel, aka Stark.
I admit I was not a fan of the first third of the book. Some of the language in regards to intimate actions rubbed me the wrong way because Sethios' power is essentially compulsion and I understand he's 3000 years old and only cares about his enjoyment (at first anyway) but some things made me cringe a little. For a other filler book it answered a lot of lingering questions and added to my anticipation of how all these characters will come together for the eventual war.

I’m trying to think of one word that sums up how much I love this book but I’m having difficulty just choosing one. I mean I could go with brilliant, fantastic, or spectacular but they just feel lacklustre. Maybe by the end of this review I’ll have found the right word.
I’ve got to say, I have read this authors previous books and I can quite happily sit here and tell you that she is one of my very favourite PNR authors. Her world building is second to none in my opinion. She has this way of creating a scene and you feel as though you could easily step onto the page and get lost in the story.
Blood Bonds is one such book.
Caro and Sethios. What a couple. They very much reminded me of another couple in a different series but by this same author. Caro and Sethios basically start out as enemies and it’s very much an enemies to lovers battle. Very enjoyable and pleasing to watch unfold. I mean we do love a good fight.
There are emotions galore though and it is definitely NOT for the faint of heart, NOT for the weak souls and most definitely NOT for those who just want a happy ever after and as with all the Immortal Curse series books, it does end on a rolling plot line. Don’t get me wrong, their story is somewhat told but more is evidently yet to come.
And come forth and prosper I say.
This book held me captive. I faced a tumult of emotions, not least of all shock and once you yourself read it, you’ll understand exactly where I am coming from. It’s quite sadistic in a way but the beauty of a truly efficient author is to capture her readers, pull them into the belly of their creation and leave you floating until they decide to pull you back in. Genius really.
OH WOW!! What an emotional rollocoaster this book was, this was book five and a prequel for the Immortal curse series, but you do need to read the first four books before this one,as it gives you an insight to how Stas came to be who she is.
This story is all about Stas's parents Caro and Sethios and how they met and what transpired in there relationship that should never have happened, it took awhile for the development of these two souls because of all the secrets and lies that were told. This pairing shouldn't work as Caro is a Angel and she calls Sethios a 'abomination' that shouldn't be living, but they are drawn to one another from the first time that Sethios spots her in New York trying to deliver a Edict to Osiris. Can you hate someone so much in a story? well i do as i hate Osiris so much,i just want him dead.
This is my favourite series as Lexi brings me into this world where i love all the characters ( bar Oriris, did i mention this) and how this is all coming together slowly, this story drew me in from the start and by the end i was blown away with how the events unfolded.
I loved these two characters of Cara and Sethios and Lexi this plot had me glued to my kindle throughout with how this story took me by the hand and led me along with there story, the shocks, surprises and heartache just to name a few, this was a sad ending but saying that it wasn't quite the end just a see you soon kind of end,as now i am waiting for Stas and Issac's story and what transpires in this next amazing series.Five emotional huge stars.
I must admit that I skipped some parts of the book because I was running out of time. Mostly, I skipped the romance part I think, but I read the important stuff. It explained a lot of things and revealed details about some of the characters we had met before that we didn't know. Everything is not what it seems. I still cannot come to terms with that revelation about Stark though. One of the good things about this book is Caro and Sethios' relationship. I might have skipped some chapters, but I wanted them to be together and I really hope that the author will give them a happy ending. The book is not exactly a filler, but it also doesn't have to do anything with the main story. If you want you might read this one first and then continue with the rest of the series.
PS. Astasiya's name was explained and I cannot say that I was very happy because I can pronounce the original name, but the one her parents gave her is still an abomination in my mind.
While this book comes out as book 5, it is also a prequel for the series in a way. If you’ve followed the series so far, you see the start of one character, and motives for others that you know already. It serves as a very emotional, fulfilling, and delicious flashback for returning fans, but an insightful, impactful, and emotional introduction for those new to this world. Resplendent with world-building, the story drew me in from the start. Though I know and love the characters, I can honestly say I come out the other end of the story with my mind thoroughly blown.
Sethios and Caro… A pairing that shouldn’t work, shouldn’t exist, and yet they are drawn to each other from the very first time Sethios spots Caro in his club. She’s an angel, he’s an “abomination” and in her mind never the two should mix. But something is at work and even the unexpected and unacceptable create intrigue that draws them both to explore each other. Can he cause an angel to feel? Can she cause an ancient being to find excitement in one place?
This is not a story of happily ever after. This is a story of “happy for now” with an ending that begs for answers to yet so many more questions. The story kept me drawn in from start to finish, and ran me through the gamut of emotions. I had to keep reading to find out what happened next. After the tears from the ending dried, the one question that remains is “What happens next?”
This book covers the relationship with Stas’ parents: how they met, who they are, what they are, how their relationship developed, the creation of Stas and what transpired post Stas.
The important thing with this book is that it needs to be read in the series order. It is not a standalone novel, and there are numerous spoilers in it, so don’t read it out of order!
What I love about this book is the sheer writing craft that Lexi is employing in order to emphasise Caro’s evolution into being “more human” and less “other”. The chapters from Caro’s point of view often have a short, staccato style, which help to emphasise the mood, the fact that she is completely different and “other” as well as her general lack of interest. As the book progresses, Lexi gradually changes this style as the reader sees Caro’s character develop. It’s brilliant. If you are not a fan of the early aloof, quite cold chapters from Caro, definitely persist, because the style does change.
I don’t want to say too much about the plot itself but you will love the characters by the end of it, and it will evoke a number of feelings from you: surprise; shock; frustration; heartache.
I can’t wait to find out what happens next, and how Stas and Issac work things out. But, I just want to say now…there has to be a book about Stark because I totally love him 😊
I've been hooked on the Immortal Curse world since I first read Blood Laws and so when I saw the author had released her latest, Blood Bonds, I couldn't One Click fast enough.
I've loved each and every one, but this book....this book....oh my. It's AMAZING. There are so many secrets revealed that I spent a good proportion of the time with my mouth hanging open. There were a lot of "No!" exclamations as the easter eggs dropped in previous books were gradually revealed.
Every single installment in this series shows immense growth from the author, but she's really surpassed herself this time. I loved Caro and Sethios, two beings who start the book on opposite sides but as truths are discovered and secrets blown, end up much closer than either of them intended. The story drew me in from the very first page and didn't let go until the last one. It's fast, it's furious, it's flipping fantastic!
For anyone new to the series, it is critical to read Books 1-4. This is most definitely not a standalone. But it is utter genius. I really cannot recommend highly enough.
Wow, words almost fail me when trying to describe Blood Bonds.
We know that Blood Bonds is book 5 in the Immortal Curse Series, even though it takes place years in the past. This story helps explain so many things. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say be prepared with tissues and about 3 hours to read because once you start, you won't want to stop.
WOW WOW WOW ❤️❤️❤️ this book is AMAZING ❤️❤️ it’s really unbelievable that Lexi makes this serie better and better!! The feelings in this book are heartbreaking but the story is so beautiful and fits perfectly to the other books. The love between Caro and Sethios Is sooooooo beautiful!! ❤️❤️❤️ Can’t wait to read more about them!!!
It's nice that Sethios gives his lady a choice, “how would you like me to eff you, darling? Against the glass or bent over the bed?” The man's wooing could use some work, “you are, sweetheart,” he insisted softly. “I warned you before, and I’ll warn you again. I’m keeping you.” Didn't like the ending, but I knew it was coming I'm hoping something happens with the characters.
This is the fourth book in the Immortal Curse series, which I was able to determine after a couple minutes of confusion and digging. Installment numbers for this series vary a bit based on where you look; however it seems this is due to a book containing bonus scenes and other fun.
As far as the series progression itself, I recommend reading this book 4th, after (#1) ‘Blood Laws’, (#2) ‘Forbidden Bonds’ and then (#3) ‘Blood Heart’.
This installment will always be one of my favorites simply for the fact that Foss managed to surprise me—this NEVER happens. The entire series is like a end-boss-level game of chess and the author manages to weave in some epic, surprising twists.
It also manages to be heart-wrenching near the end; such a rare quality I’m forever seeking, yet almost-never find. If it was at all possible for me to have any more respect than I already did for Foss, it no longer is. In this moment, she became a top favorite, and I will forever one-click anything and everything she’s involved in. I strongly recommend you do too … and I cannot stress that enough.
Foss is clearly a world-building mastermind.
Note: I opted for the audiobook. Narrators are great: soft, pleasant, smooth voices.
And back to the smut (and i use the term with undying affection)
A prequel book to the rest of the series, but in the paranormal/urban fantasy romance genre plot has never really been the strongest point in its favour and where it does get us a bit more invested in the background and world building it still doesnt really add up.
The book also didnt sit quite right with the romance part of the supernatural romance. Where the all the characters are big on consent (which, again. I still adore about the series) this book felt like an uncanny valley view of the subject. The consent felt.. well.. forced. And it definitely made me uncomfortable more than once as the main characters *ahem*'d.
Basically... compared to the charm of the rest of the series this book really missed the mark. And where id normally praise some meaningful exposition and world background.. it felt really off to me.
Bad stuff aside the book still has its moments, including one or two 'ahah! got it!' subtle bits. And when the smut heats up.. well.. it heated up. And particularly because im reading them with some friends it still has enough merit to keep reading and enjoying the series :)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Caro, a Seraphim sent to New York to deliver a message runs into Sephios, the son of Osiris, who can not only see her but decides to keep her instead of leaving her to a fate worse than death. Sephios uses his powers of persuasion to convince the beautiful angel to one night of human passion in exchange for information. What follows is a prediction of Osiris’ downfall and the two find themselves on the run as they explore the undeniable connection between them.
Gosh, this was just heartbreaking. I devoured this prequel as we delve deeper into the mystery surrounding Astasiya. Sethios and Caro’s love story had all the feels as you race toward the end knowing their fate (or at least thinking you do). Their story was raw and passionate as they discovered something in each other that neither realised they wanted or needed.
Definitely not a HEA but the Immortal Curse universe is definitely not done with them yet.
You don't come across many authors who do it all. Its very rare. She writes such entertaining stories. There's nothing I can think of I dont like that she has written. Her stories are full. Great world building, character development, and story and a perfect mix of all. Although they are ongoing series I wouldnt necessarily call it cliffhanger or HEA. You know you will be continuing to hear about the characters in other books. This is why I love it. This isnt a PNR but more. Its got some dark elements and its not all pretty. The characters go through stuff and I mean STUFF! It gets you in the feels and you might cry because you feel it yo! We get some of the questions answered but of course there are more. Which keeps me wanting to read the series. By the end of the book I was reeling. I need to know more! :) Definitely recommend and yes to reading in order!
Oh my! Blood Bonds was one an amazing read that is a prequel, but it isn't just history. I believe that it contains imperative information that is necessary for the rest of the series. I would definitely encourage readers to not listen to this out of its order in the immortal curse series as it both contains spoilers for the previous books, and other information that holds relevance to the future in this series. I had to fight the tears with this one and the fact that it emotionally touched me, along with the fantastically intricate plot made this a really great story. The narration by the hugely talented Sarah Puckett and Kale Williams really show their voice acting talents with their clear, expressive narration. The characters were clearly represented and their attitude and personalities really did come across well. Audiobook Obsession Reviewer.
Blood Bonds is the story that will make you believe in miracles and your greatest dreams only to have them ripped away leaving you with a broken heart 💔
This book is the one we’ve all been waiting for...and yes I know I’ve left it to the last minute to read only because I knew somewhere in the back of my mind that this book would be the one to make me ugly cry 😭 and have all those feels that everyone talks about❣️
For those who don’t know this is the story of Sethios and Caro, Stas’s parents. I’m not going to divulge too much because this review would then pretty much be classified as a spoiler which I don’t want. Immortal Curse series is a must read with an author who will take you above and beyond😍
Audio Review: Blood Bonds (Immortal Curse, Book 5) is a prequel to the Immortal Curse series, I love the world building descriptions and settings that this audio provides. We get unanswered questions from the earlier works in the series. A very sweet and passionate lovestory. Looking forward to listening to the next audio in this fantasy romance.
Sarah Puckett, Kale Williams duet narration was flawless. Kale William's is someone whom im not familiar with his work, however his performance with this audio was smooth and his deep baritone intonation was the perfect portrayal of Sethios. Sarah Puckett is always on her A game. Another impeccable performance. Together a duet naration definitely worth a listen.
Just when I thought this series couldn't actually get any better, WHAM. Lexi has hit us with her best book yet. The story was gripping from the word go and the sexual tension between Sethios and Caro leapt off the very first page. It was an utterly enthralling read and although tragedy was inevitable, I was gripped the whole way through desperate to know it was all going to work out fine. Sethios' and Caro's love was so genuine, so real, so heartfelt and yet utterly heartbreaking. I think I'm going to have to start this series again now! Absolutely loved this book.
Sethios and Caro! Wow! I went into this book thinking that Caro was going to be mushy and your typical female character. Boy was I wrong!! I loved her spirit and her fight! She was raised to have no emotions but by the end of the book she came into her own and broke the mold for a Seraphim. We also get a look into who's on what side of this fight. We obviously know what happened since we have gotten this far but it still does tug on your heart strings! Another amazing book by an amazing author!
Just when I think it doesn’t get any better, it does. This series so entertaining and fun. It’s well written, exciting and will leave you holding your breath and wanting more. The narration is amazingly sexy. Sarah Puckett & Kale Williams nailed it. (Especially Kale doing Ezekiel, wow 🔥) Lexi C. Foss is a brilliant writer and I’m so glad I started reading/listening to her. This is book 5 in a continuing Series. I highly recommend this book/series.
