amazing characters, fast-paced storyline and action-packed sequences — if you like any of these things and still haven't read this series, you're missing out.
i'm not a manga fan. i mean, i love death note — it's one of my favourite series ever — but as much as i appreciate a good story, i just can't get into the manga world. i have severe commitment issues, and the unspoken standards within the manga community honestly scare me, so i usually stay away.
at my core, i'm someone who values stories. stories that make me feel something — happiness, dread, excitement, surprise — anything at all.
and that’s exactly what i felt when i read jjk — raw, sheer excitement.
i love how fast paced it is. the main storyline kicks off right from the first chapter, and i love it for that. it's not some mind-blowing, never-before-seen concept, but it's so fun and genuinely enjoyable that it doesn't even matter. it's just an entertaining ride. the action sequences? incredible. completely over the top — powerful guy vs. super powerful guy — and i love it.
yuji is a cinnamon roll and i love him sm. he's adorable, kind, helpful, and just wants connection — i adore him for that. megumi is such a good side character, i love his powers and his dynamic with yuji. nobara - listen, i appreciate her as side characters but sadly, nobara's story never really caught my attention. i like her, but that's just it.
now the main point: gojo satoru you will always be famous. i love how insanely overpowered he is, and the character design is stunning. yes, he's hot and i'm downbad, but more than that — his effort to guide and protect the younger ones really means something to me.
but the most important point is: sukuna. the real reason i appreciate this series as much as i do. i love evil characters — not the morally grey or the tragic-backstory type — but characters who are evil for the sake of being evil. he's clever, strategic, and knows exactly how and when to fight. gojo has raw, overwhelming power, but sukuna? he’s the king of curses because of his intelligence and complete willingness to do whatever it takes. the way he constantly calculates everything around him to get what he wants? brilliant. and the ending panel? down on my knees. one of my fav chapters is about to come in the next volume and i can't wait.
conclusion: i'd 100% recommend giving it a read. even if you're not into manga or rarely pick one up (like me), you'll still enjoy the story and characters. plus, it's beautifully drawn.
