Five years ago, I had an audition for the ballet company of my dreams. Five years ago, my boyfriend purposely broke my toes and ruined my dreams. Two days later, I found out I’m a witch.
I thought my ballet days were over. I just graduated from the academy to work as a federal agent with the Paranormal Investigation Bureau. I get called into the office for something that could change my life permanently. Meaning, I could die. That ballet company I never got to audition for is doing The Sugar Skull Girl. This ballet has never been seen on stage before. I don’t have the full story, but rumors are that any time someone tries to attempt this ballet, things soon turn fatal.
I’ve been told to strap my pointe shoes on and use my witch abilities to go undercover at the ballet company. I had my reservations about taking this job, even if it had once been a dream of mine to dance for The P. The artistic director is a horny Unseelie rake who makes casting decisions with his cock. The prima ballerina here needs to retire, but she’s totally toxic about making sure no one upstages her. She has a club of mean girl ballet dancers willing to ruin careers just for the spotlight…or maybe just for fun.
Not only do I have to survive gossip, hot male dancers who like to sniff around new ballerinas, and toxic prima ballerinas, I have to figure out what is going on with this ballet before we all die. I might not like these people, but I’m here to save their lives. This series is part of the Profane world
USA Today Bestselling Author JB Trepagnier is secretly 30 feral cats in a trench coat and combat boots writing romance with a shared feral cat hive mind.
I did enjoy this series, but it was a struggle sometimes. There were a lot of missing words in sentences and sometimes I had to re-read something to get what was supposed to be going on.
I’m giving this series 4⭐️s instead of 3 because the premise is original and creative, though the details don’t all work… the main one being this she was a great dancer at 16 before tragedy struck, and at 18 she was recruited by the Supernatural Investigation Bureau right out of high school, 4 years later she starts her first day and is told the only reason she was hired (4 years ago) was because some new show director wanted to do a cursed show and needed an agent… so did he put that show on hold for 4 years waiting for her to graduate so he could finally do it? I find that impossible to believe.
Anyways, the concept is intriguing and if the details can be smoothed out a bit, it would all make better sense. All in all it’s good.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

Book 1 - I absolutely LOVE PNR, when you mix it with RH and a mystery/suspense theme, I'm even more excited to read! I love that you can "think" you know what's going on, but you're most likely wrong. I swear I thought I had the questions answered, or at least half answered. But I was wrong, and I also learned so much more about everything that was going on. I love twists and turns, it keeps it interesting and it keeps me reading! Because who doesn't love to learn about the who, what and why!
I was excited to dive right into book 2 and learn more about the characters, see their relationships develop, as well as see what other trouble they get into.
Book 2- I love seeing our FMC Beyla being able to go back to her love of Ballet. As a non-dancer I could definitely appreciate her devotion to dancing. As well as her second chance o be able to chase her dream, and start hoping for the possibilities that she could have in her future!
We also get to see the guys start to focus on getting to know one another and see how they can work together. We see our FMC grow into her true self, and we really see the stories come together.
It's also great to see JB's other characters brought in from the "of the Profane" stories! I really love when the whole universe that a author writes "cross over" and we can see them in other "lights"
Book 3- Our final book brings everything together, and it's not going to be an easy ride for Beyla and her guys. We're still in a "who dun it" with figuring out the villian is before someone else loses their life.
We see the relationships continue to develop and the fast pace aspect of the book keeps you going back for more. I'm glad that they finally figure things out, but I wish there was a bit more excitement/angst with the big reveal. Regardless this was a great finale to a great series!
Another amazing series by JB and I can't wait to see what else I can read!.

When Beyla's dreams of becoming a professional ballet dancer were crushed, she decided to turn her life around and become a federal agent at the paranormal investigation bureau. Her first day after graduation turns out a little different than expect though, with an undercover assignment at "The P", the famous ballet company all her younger dreams were focussed on. With a mission to find out why there's a curse on the ballet they want to perform, she has no wish to deal with the politics involved in this ballet company. Maybe a few hot dancers can make everything better?
I absolutely love the combination of tropes in this series! You've got dancers, fated mates, a mixed harem, bully (outside of the harem), and a wonderful who-done-it theme, all in one series! The men had to grow a little on me, but by the end of the first book I absolutely adored every single one of them. This is a slow burn series, but with all the tension to look forward to the moment it will all explode. Not all plot twists are completely unexpected, but the characters are so entertaining it stays interesting until the end.
I felt like this series was to drawn out. She could have made it with two books instead of three. The whole time they were looking for this particular unseelie and you know who it is by the and of book one. By the time the main characters figured it out was midway book three. And I'm singing Peter Griffin's Ding Fries are Done in my head while saying your all morons. It made book two and some of three very aggravating for me personally. I almost didn't want to finish it because i knew how the story would end. But i have a pet peeve about finishing books and series i start. This was a very slow burn and low key on the steam. It was genteel even with a small amount of BDSM involved. Nothing like the other Profane series books. I wish i could've given it five stars but between the drawn out story and some things that are said and done that absolutely make no sense i gave it three stars not my normal five for Ms. Trepagnier stories I'm sorry to say. But I'm definitely looking forward to when the Academy series is finally finished and the twins get their story told. Happy reading and always stay safe and blessed.
I really liked the plot of this story. I don't read a lot of novels that revolve around dance and had to look up some of the moves that were talked about. But, for me, it was fun to read something I don't typically read. I feel like the characters were well developed. The relationships weren't rushed or insta-love.
Where I think this series wasn't so great is the ending. The build up of the plot is set up so you expect more of a "thriller" or "exciting" ending. Yet, the ending is kind of anticlimactic. Yes, everything comes together, but it's kind of bland for an ending. One more thing to note is that there are quite of few editing mistakes. I could figure out what the author was saying, but it needs some editing work. There was a chapter near the end that has Kaine talking about Derek being a bear shifter, yet, later in the chapter, one of the twins (Riley? Can't remember the names) says that Beyla couldn't put a hex on him because he was human. Which was he? A bear or a human?
Overall, I enjoyed this series. It was a quick read and entertaining.
I really enjoyed this series. I love the concept and the direction it took. It is well written and a fantastic read. Below are individual reviews for each book. Final Curtain Incredibly interesting story! It is a slower burn RH with amazing mystery and a unique storyline. Very engrossing, page turning read with engaging characters.
Blackout This is an amazing second addition to Beyla's story. It has fantastic storytelling that is engaging. There is action, steam, and mystery. The romance element is a slower build and is sweet. I am really enjoyed this series thus far.
Encore This picks up right where last book ended. There is heat tension along with hot steam. It answers up very pressing questions of the series and wraps it up very well. There is drama, adventure, mystery and so much more. This is a great finale to this series.
Beyla (adopted daughter of Kaine Dragonovich) followed in his footsteps and enrolled in the Paranormal Investigation Bureau despite him begging her to continue her ballet dancing. Straight after graduation she was informed she would be going undercover as a ballet dancer at the supernatural worlds most prestigious ballet company The P. A new, yet old ballet was going to be performed, however it never got to be seen in the past. It was cursed!
I doubted I would enjoy this series as much as others in The Profane World but I fell in love with it. I'm not a girly girl that ever dreamt of being a ballerina but damn was I wrong. Excellently written with an engaging storyline as well as 'believable' characters, just as the other series in The Profane World. And the hotties.....wow🥵
I loved the premise of the book. It was a different take from the usual Reverse Harem books I've read. The ballet aspect of it was well done and the whole story kept me engaged enough that it only took me 2 days to read and that's only because I had work. If I didn't it would have been done in one. Beyla was a great character and I loved all her guys. I am now going to read the 2 series that came before because those characters interested me as well. The curse aspect was very different but well done. I can't wait to continue reading all of JB's books.

This is the complete series in one collection, so a very convenient package.
So ballet is not my thing, but I do like a good urban fantasy. This one offers both and does a good job of it. The story is well written and generally easy to read, although the prima donnas do get on one's nerves. The characters are well done, even the annoying ones, and certainly bring the story to life. The mystery itself is a good one and includes plenty of twists and turns. Overall, this was a very enjoyable series and I look forward to more odd creations from this author.
Highly recommended.

Beyla was sent to work undercover with the premier supernatural ballet company directly after graduating from the paranormal investigation academy. She was uniquely qualified due to her past and her superiors themselves were manipulated by the mastermind. Beyla found a ballet troupe ruled by a toxic diva and her sycophants, but she also found four male ballet dancers who help her remember how much she loves to dance. The gryphon, warlock, skinwalker and incubus also taught her to trust again. Beyla had four strong, protective men backing her up but she was a total badass all on her own. The Paranormal Investigation Bureau is a slow burn reverse harem with a unique storyline, a cursed ballet, mystery, drama, engaging and quirky characters, and an undercover agent who is deep into the investigation. Included in this box set are Book 1 Final Curtain, Book 2 Blackout, and Book 3 Encore. This is an entertaining series that held my attention from beginning to end. Just when I thought I figured out how the story would end, I was wrong. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
A very scintillating, devious and sexy paranormal trilogy. A cursed play, a vision of the person to solve the curse, a serious injury, grief, a secret discover, a nd a new paranormal investigator. Jealous prima donna ballerinas, new friends, secrets about the play and perfect dance partners. I love Arden, Bevan, Nicolai and Merlin, so sexy. I just adore Nyx and Madame Lucinda. This trilogy is a must read.

‘Final Curtain’, ‘Blackout’ and ‘Encore’ have been packaged together in one set - definitely the best way to read this trilogy. Beyla is a young agent with the Paranormal Investigation Bureau and a former ballerina, who goes undercover to solve a mystery and break a curse, and ends up with a coven/harem and a happily ever after. I enjoyed the dialogue and antics of the main characters (and secondary characters) of this story - there’s plenty of fun to be had. Not as much steam as some of J P Trepagnier’s other books, but still plenty of young adult hormonal drama. An action intense read.
Immature, repetitive, contradictory and poorly written. The men act like children regarding women and the main character does things that make no sense to further the story.
This series is unique, wonderful and will immediately draw you in. Beyla and her crew are wonderful and will make you laugh, think about your relationships and push yourself to your own limits. I love how other characters show up and hints of other stories that may be told later.

3.5 Stars This was a great boxed set that was filled with a series that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. I did have a hard time connecting to any of the characters.

I hated it. All of it. It was too easy to solve the mystery and i was just waiting for the characters to catch up. The “steam” was nonexistent. Total waste of time.
Superb series. So happy I got to read it as a boxset. I dived into one book after another. Such a great read. Loved how the plot and characters progressed.

It was thrilling the whole time. I almost read it in 2 days. My eyes hurt so much afterwards. I did figure out what was happening early on. But it was still awesome when the main character did as well.
Definitely recommend this fantastic book. Lots of chemistry and steamy scenes. Characters relationship was quite unique. Lots of caring and connection between characters. A must read.

So freaking good . I knew who the cursed person was for awhile and I’m so happy they finally pulled their heads out. I just wish we got a little more of the future with the guys and their girl.
I enjoyed Beyla’s story very much and it’s 5 for me except there were just too many editing mistakes to ignore. I love that Kaine found his person in this story too!!
I loved the series. Just like I did with library & museum. There was some minor typos in places and in one page there was the same paragraph twice. Love all your books though! I want more Kaine and Nyx!!
