While I really liked the idea of the FMC having to go from pack to pack to claim her mates, I wish it was more of battle to secure them. It quickly got old that she was the "best" at everything and able to kill off anyone who attempted to challenge her with barely a flick of her wrist. I get it, she's powerful but it would have been nice to see her actually work at getting their hand.

In the beginning of the book her parents are being kind to her. Her father hugs and kisses her forehead, her mother isn't cruel towards her while planning the party. Then a couple chapters later, they're both abusive, hate her and have treated her like shit her entire life? Same with her brother? Talk about a 180.

When the whole thing happened with Orwell, I almost DNF'd this on the spot. His POV clearly shows his excitement to be her mate even if they're not fated. SHE was also excited and ready to do whatever it took to claim him. There were no ill intentions mentioned in his chapters but all the sudden he was a POS and not worthy?? Why make him be the bad guy for no reason? If you wanted a villain, it should have been his brother. Also, it was never explained how the king knew Seb was her actual fated mate and got his hands on his shirt.

Belladonna became so overwhelmingly arrogant as she collected her mates that her quick moments of vulnerability made me roll my eyes. Yes, she as taking back power and getting her voice back but lordy, humble yourself woman. Every time she got a new mate, the last one was instantly pushed to the back burner and only popped up when she was barking commands or friggin' man-splaining something to them as if they were toddlers.

The timeline completely baffled me. What I thought was maybe a couple weeks worth of collecting her mates was actually months? How? They traveled by SUV's and limos, and only once had to use their wolf forms to get to the next kingdom and it wasn't for very long since they were close by after the accident. The challenges were made out to be only a day or two long and then the claiming ceremonies right after, so when she gets to the fire kingdom, and it's mentioned that she and Kaedyn have been on this journey together for five months, it seemed really wonky.

I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a time-period type piece, some of the dialogue felt like they were part of an older era (which was also extremely repetitive and felt like words were strung together strictly for a higher word count. We didn't need Hollis' skin tone to be explained three times within two paragraphs.), but then there were things like Vampire Diaries and modern technologies mentioned and it just threw me off.

Overall, the idea of the plot was really good and I kept reading because I was curious as to how the ending would play out but was ultimately disappointed when Belladonna easily took over everything without much trouble, just like the mating challenges.

Her Elemental Mates by Serenity Rayne is a paranormal werewolf romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Griswold Addams and Lacey Anthony.

I am a little torn on this series. I feel the story had great potential but had to many inconsistencies and not enough back story for certain events. Then there were scenes where we had the buildup to the battles/attacks but was easily conquered with no real struggle for Belladonna.

Overall, I liked the story, but it felt very YA with no real build up on the relationship between Belladonna and her mates. I did like that we got Belladonna, Kaedyn, Hollis, Orwell, Sebastian, and Egon's points of views throughout the book.

Griswold and Lacey did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

Political intrigue with a werewolf heart? You have my attention. And this book held it for the entire length of the story. Bella is an amazing character to center the book around. She’s strong and fierce but has a deep vulnerability from the way she grew up. Her elemental princes are equally compelling. I loved watching Bella discover her mates and master her powers. That she did this while evading treachery and death impressed me so much. I kind of hate that this story is over already. There are still several of the secondary characters that I’d enjoy reading more about.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

Oh my goodness!
I've been reading Serenity since the beginning and Her Elemental Mates lived up to my expectations. Belladonna made hard decisions but she stuck to her guns and that made her such an appealing character.
I wish there was more in regards to the relationships of her mates, like their relationships with each other. It isn't necessarily needed but it would have been fun to read :-P
Loved it so much

I liked the book and so badly wanted to love it. I feel if it was split into a duology or trilogy and the bugs worked out this could have been brilliant. There were too many inconsistencies, not enough back stories, timelines didn’t match up, and things that were focused on or repeated that didn’t need to be and could have been to wrap up other things. For example she harps on the fact that she feels bad for a mate of compatibility for multiple pages but she never makes the stained glass she insisted on completing as a trial nor do we see her get the gifts they buy her. Things go from zero to apocalypse level when her father hits the mother. No background on that, the issues with the Fae, or other things like that. Had there been more time put into world building, character building, and cleaning up things like the above through out the whole book, it could have been a 5 star read. I will definitely give other books a try from the author in hopes that this is a one off, for the sheer potential that this had.

This story had great potential, and there were portions that I enjoyed, but too many inconsistencies and plot holes were present, which ultimately detracted from the reading experience. I felt like I needed to go back and re-read chapters and passages to check if I had misread or misunderstood the plot.

However, the overall premise is interesting, and I would be interested in giving it a re-read after a thorough once (or twice) over and editing to clear up some of the issues. I really liked the POVs of each of the characters and the concept of different elemental kingdoms, plus the balance they provided Bella once she was bonded with them all. Each mate gave her different emotional support she needed, which ultimately made her stronger.

The book contains MM, but it felt forced, with no actual on-page relationship building. I would have preferred it not included at all or more effort in making the relationships feel genuine, as the men’s relationships were with the FMC.

Her Elemental Mates is the first book in Serenity Rayne's Wolves of Delimbiyr Vale series. Be prepared to be introduced to a character who is portrayed as the "cast-off." She the child that her parents put aside. Is it because of the death that flows through her veins? Or something more? Bella is an interesting character and she definitely has strength in her. The gradual introduction of her men into her life adds a nice element to this story.
The storyline itself is a bit drawn out, but that is typical with this author. It gets a bit frustrating as it drags the story down a bit, for me. If some of the unnecessary elements were removed the story would flow a lot better and would be more engaging. As it is, the characters really push the story forward overall.
I'm choosing to rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Couldn't make even a few pages

I didn't get passed 7% of this read before just deciding to move on. The intro had me giddy! It gave off this dark H I knew I was absolutely going to love. But then the book just kinda spiraled into confusion? The way she talks about her family and the way they interact with her is not making sense. to be frank, the story is not lining up at all? They all seem loving and super protective? I'm confused? I also can't stand a weak H who puts herself down. Our H is ridiculously critical of who and what she is right off the bat. Its eye rolling and aggravating. And the storyline some how keeps getting more ridiculous the little amount I read. Dnf ,not for me

loved it

Brand new steamy fated mates standalone from Serenity Rayne I knew I needed to snag up this book as quick as I could, I love this authors work, and this one did not disappoint. Fast paced, multi POV, actin, steam and some snark. I loved Belladonna, she is the perfect strong alpha female, she might be my new favorite from all the FMC’s from this author. And her mates fit her perfectly. And I lovedddddd her BFF. I loved the the different tasks that the mates had to perform in each elemental kingdoms. I can’t wait for Luna Found!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great story. The premise of 4 different packs, each one belonging to a different element is neat. You get fire, water, earth and air. However, Belladonna, the FMC, is a Spirit/Shadow and Death wolf. She is capable of killing just by thinking about it and can turn living things to ash. She has to go to each pack and get a mate from each one.

Each of the characters introduced are all likeable and this definitely does insta-love with the guys. Bella and each guy are drawn to each other upon seeing each other for the most part even though males discern their fated mates by sight and smell, whereas the female needs touch.

There were some continuity issues throughout but not too much to the point of having no clue whats going on.

The relationships of each guy to Bella was interesting. Each guy was super nice, attentive and sweet. Overly to the point that it sometimes felt like they were servants instead of mates/lovers. Right from the beginning, some lines from the guys POV's involved saying she was frightening them or that they were worried about certain things. Even comments about she seemed to be enjoying killing, but nothing came of it. I expected it to at least be something that came up (outside of in their own heads), some sort of issue they'd have to overcome. It never really happened..

The story itself was awesome. Bella having a rough background, growing from that and becoming her own person. Going to each pack and the interesting trials each one had. As well as the prophecy and how orcs, fae and vampires were out to get them.

The ending was good, it was a HEA as this is a standalone. There is mention at the end that this is not the end of her story though, so there could definitely be followups which is exciting!

So I felt like I was reading two different books/writing styles in this one. I thought the first half of this audiobook was a 4-5 stars easily. I was gripped by the storyline, I really liked Belladonna about halfway through the water kingdom and then her personality changed and I was so confused to be honest. I understand she needed to adapt as she got more mates, she had things thrust at her, but I did not like her as she left the water kingdom and especially not in the fire kingdom and beyond. She was a totally different character than I fell for. Also the way things were described and plot was jumbled after the halfway point.

I loved how Bella overcame over the adversity against her, how her father got his just rewards, how she got her first two mates. They were amazing and I loved how their love grew and how those challenges happened. I was wondering what happened to Ari all of a sudden, she just disappeared never to be heard from. I enjoyed Caiden’s family, Hollis’ kingdom was different but also I enjoyed it. I was so engrossed in this storyline and the pacing was great. Then we got to the water kingdom and things shifted. Suddenly things weren’t really explained, random twists/info was dropped on us and it made me feel jostled (the previous kingdoms the plot and execution was smooth in terms of the writing and it fit the style I like, but the 2nd half was a different story). I understand the twist when it came to the mate and the tension and battles that ensued. I had no issues with that, I appreciated the plot twist, but Bella started acting different. things that weren’t consistent with her previously. I love Sebastian and feel like we didnt get enough time to get to know him, based on the circumstances. I usually am not a huge fan of standalones with this many guys in the harem with this type of epic plot because you sometimes don’t get enough time with the relationship building and I think that happened for our adorable water mater. Now, things went off the handle once we got to the fire kingdom. The whole point of not going there first was to create stability for Bella and her harem. It felt like the author forgot this and everything went to the type of mate the fire mate was and all things were about him and the others were thrown to the wayside. Also Bella became an unlikable character for me. She was supposed to defend Caiden and how much she loved him but she was like...they won’t understand I love Egon more and he is the one for me. Like that isn’t the point of RH, where 1 is more important than the others. If I had known this I probably wouldn’t have read this. The last couple hours were a chore to listen to because I felt so bad for the guys who I had already fallen for. I think his would have been better as M/F with just Bella and her fire mage to be honest, with how this author wrote it. She pretty much used them for their powers and then couldnt stop touting how much of a king Egon was and how perfect he was for her. Sorry for being honest, I just was confused and felt let down by this the rest of the book was executed compared to how amazing it was in the beginning. I will probably give this author another chance because this one had so much potential and the first half of this book was fabulous, I just will be keeping levelheaded and be ready for what she did here to happen again, just so I am not disappointed again like I was here. I did love another audiobook of this authors, and I hope more of it comes to audio so I can continue that storyline, but this one just didnt hit the mark for me overall.

Again I loved the first half, I would have given it 4 or 5 stars for each category, but the 2nd half was 2 stars for me so even out was a 3. I thought the way they did the powers was great, how things progressed once each mate was brought on. The specialty tasks in each land was fun and so different than I have seen. I did appreciate the sexy scenes for most of the book. I wouldn’t say this is M/M, there were like “the guys took care of each other” except the last scene where there was some but maybe like a minute of airtime. Again that is why it felt like the 3 guys were side pieces, when they had to keep consoling each other, had sexy times together than we didnt get to be a part of, etc.

Narration was alright, I liked the female narrator but the male narrator was hit or miss for me. I did not lie how he did Egon’s voice, it was not for me. I thought he did a good job with the other 3 and the side characters. I appreciated the emotion we got mostly in the 1st half (some in the second). I was confused a lot by the end with her other family members. It didn’t make sense to me/was very abrupt, especially with one of them after what we saw in the first half of the book. Her emotions made sense there, the devastation was done well, but I didnt get from the family members the emotions I had wanted (was partially hindered by how the author portrayed it all as well).

Full of contradictions.

There are plenty of descriptions that are a bit too much when on the other hand there are plenty of moments when things happen too sudenly. Things popping out without any context or build up... The world building is confusing. The journey of Bella to all kingdoms takes about 6 months, but it definitely it doesn't seem like it not sure where she supposedly spent so much time. Whenever she visited each element things were happening instantly and it seemed as if maximum 2 weeks could pass..

The FMC is made to be this perfect woman who can do everything perfectly. She spend few hours on learning something and suddenly she is on expert level or even surpasses the masters of the craft...
She supposedly been mistreated by her parents. She tell her story to basically anyone who would listen. In the beginning of the story her best friend said that she lived in self imposed solitary of graveyard, but later on it is said that her father sent her there because of being to afraid of her. The information about how she was really mistreated is scarce. There's mention of not knowing who was her parents until she was 10. Scars on her back which one of her mates described as being done by a whip. And there was instance of her father putting her down by saying he would do something better and faster.
She is made to be open to everyone but in the same time to be constantly aware of surroundings and prepared for attacks.
Bella were not convinced to get any mates but she jumped into getting them pretty quickly. And the insta love in here is no joking matter.
She is this OP character that out of nowhere is being choked by a Fae King and can't get out of his hold?

There are mention of pop culture, but how FMC would know about it while living in graveyard. She definitly didn't have a tv in there, and she was close to feral.

The sudden arrest of her father. He supposedly was the main ruler of all, and just by slapping his wife he suddenly got arrested and executed in matter of days... Without any fight...

Another thing that's confusing. What happened with Orwell? Because I read his chapters second time and I see nothing bad about him. Besides him not being fated mate to Bella there were no signs of him being a bad guy. But for some reason right after they marked each other, Bella started having doubts and Orwen been described as 'a tool' and other derogatory descriptions. It personally irked me. King Mateo and Callan were shady from the start why Orwell was forcefully lumped with them. In Orwell POV he said that he was happy that at last he would belong somewhere. There were no malicious intentions, so why he couldn't be just let go a mistake, without making him into bad guy for no reason?

Oh and let's mention the random prophecy, legends retellings, sudden pop up of historian with some pretty important info. And some important thing about Spirit wolfs are mentioned like : 'Oh and btw your powers will be shared along the bond so your wolf with grow bigger'.

Orcs, trolls, vampires and fae are there for shit and giggles... Besides fae, rest is there only for muscle to create opponent and be swiftly killed of.

BLURB:

My parents' marriage united the five elements by bringing a death walker to the throne. No wolf was able to contest their power with my mother at his side—especially after she gave birth to twins.

Ryker was destined to succeed my father as the King of the Spirit Wolves after the War Games, but a surprise orc attack leaves him unfit to rule.

Enter me, the discarded hybrid wolf with the touch of death in her veins.

Get ready for a wild ride. Belladonna never wanted to rule over the Shadow Court but after an Orc attack left her brother unfit to rule the mantle was thrust upon her shoulders. Being an female Alpha Wolf who possessed Death Magic and Destruction, Belladonna was a dangerous force to be reckoned with and her powers were lethal.

As a powerful Shadow Wolf it was prophesied that she would need to take 4 mates that encompass Air, Earth, Water and Fire to achieve the power necessary to free her people and bring down the corrupt monarch that has been governing all Packs and segregating them amongst the Nobles and Commoners.

Belladonna and her mates had to overcome dangerous obstacles and uncover disloyalty amongst the Nobles. Someone is trying to prevent Belladonna from ascending the throne. Those who were considered Allies turned out to be Foes and the ones deemed Foes proved to be Allies.

This book was full of Action, Political Drama, Betrayal, Steam, Angst, tested loyalties and Epic battles leading to bloodshed. It was a nonstop rollercoaster and you never knew who could be trusted and who should be avoided.

Not only did Belladonna have to deal with drama between her mates but she had to face jealous She-wolves, Orc's, Evil Fae, Vampires and Family drama as well. Does Belladonna have what it takes to bring all kingdoms together and bridging the gap between the Nobles and Commoners or will she dark magic overcome her leading her and her mates to destruction?

I loved that Bella was a strong, fierce, independent female character. She wasn't afraid to stand up for herself and what she believed in, but she also knew when to lean on her mates. I loved seeing her grow as a character across the book and learn some important lessons along the way.

I did think the characters, in general, were a bit all over the place though. They seemed to flip on a dime and completely changed how they thought and their base personalities. The royals, especially, almost seemed to have a split personality.

The time passing in the book also seemed a little wonky. I didn't really get a good perception of how much time was passing so when Bella mentioned that several months had passed since she started her journey, I was shocked. It seemed like maybe a week or two, at most, had passed instead of several months. I wish the timeline would have been a bit clearer.

That being said, I enjoyed the interactions between Bella and her mates and how each one seemed to provide her with something unique that she needed. The spicy scenes definitely added to the experience and I liked that each of them did things a bit differently so I didn't feel like I was reading the same thing over and over.

Overall, the story was interesting and I really liked the fated mates aspect of it. I'm just enough of a romantic to melt at that sort of thing. Her Elemental Mates lost some points in execution, but I enjoyed reading the story a lot and am looking forward to the next installment!

This was a first book for me from Serenity, and I was surprised with how much she accomplished in one book. I read a series that reminded me of the comic character Venom earlier this year, and it made me practically grin with recognition when I figured out the connection. Intentional or not, her elemental mates strongly reminds me of Avatar, the Last Airbender from when I was younger and I was filled with the same sort of joy filled recognition. The concept of a spirit creature that visits kingdoms, collects friends/mates, and learns the elements of water, earth, air, and fire, spoke to my childhood memories in a way that I appreciated. I liked the harem. I liked Sebastian's humble nature, Kaedyn's steadfastness, Hollis' ability to understand, and Egon's fierce desire to uplift Belladonna. But I loved Belladonna. She was dark, fierce, and a force to reckoned with from the beginning. A female heroine who is so strong and sure of her abilities, and willing to throw down without question is lacking often in books. Her journey is an emotional one, but her qualities and abilities as a shifter, queen, and warrior are never questioned.

I quite enjoyed the wrap up of the book. I've come to appreciate a well ended standalone, and Serenity gave us all the pieces we needed to finish off the story, with perhaps an opening for more related characters to have their own stories. Belladonna's book maybe finished, but I hope she pops up elsewhere. She is too good a character to relegate to the corner after a single standalone.

Belladonna is darkness, death, and the mistress of shadows. Her wolf is the biggest in existence. Her own parents fear her. She was never supposed to be in power but a tragic injury to her twin brother makes her the Queen of the Shadow Court. And a Queen needs her Kings. Belladonna plans to bring change to the kingdom, starting with taking a mate from each of the Elemental packs, Air, Earth, Water, and Fire. She wants to usher in an era of peace and equality but not everyone wants to see her succeed.

Great premise. Poor execution. It started out so promising but fell apart quickly, and continued going downhill. So many inconsistencies, disordered storyline, and too much repetition. The writing was a bit schizophrenic. Several times the author would change course completely, change character, and head off in a completely new story direction. Case in point, poor Orwell. The key to a good RH is to give each mate value, not to replace them with a better, more perfect mate. There must be balance. Characters also need depth and consistency. Of course, there needs to be character growth but the essence of a character needs to be known. The main character needs to be likable too. She can't kill with no remorse, be arrogant, or be too perfect at each challenge thrown at her. I am not going to even start with her Mates or the Kings and the contradictions. This review would be ridiculously long. I recommend a strict editor to bring more cohesiveness to future stories. Once the story is tightened up, then we can focus on pacing and timelines.

The first 3 pages were written well. After that the writing becomes choppy and not as flowing. The author tries to fancy it up but it doesn't hide the fact that the writing and story are not flowing. The only thing that flows are sentences that describe looks or clothing.
The fmc was rather boohoo woe is me throughout the entire book. But then, everyone loves her essentially and she is Uber powerful/does everything right. Boo hoo. But then she interacts with her bestie in such a perky manner and seconds later its more of the internal and sometimes external pity me act. She also gets cocky as she collects men like pokemon cards and barks orders constantly when she isn't being almost belittling to them. For the most part, she collects them and we never hear much of them again except when she needs to order..ermm I mean 'interact' with them.
Also, this book felt like it had no real proof or beta readers and that the author left it for long periods of time before going back to it without reading what was written before. There are heaps of inconsistencies with the story. Her parents are loving and sweet to her in the beginning but chapters later they are apparently abusive to her?! What? Other characters start out sweet and out of nowhere become villains. I felt like I missed something.

Audiobook Review:

This story ended up being interesting, but I’ll admit it’s not going down as one of my favorite RH stories. Primarily because it took a direction with regards to mates that didn’t sit right with me. I won’t say too much because I feel readers/listeners should have the chance to experience it for themselves and draw their own conclusions, but it left me feeling less than satisfied and things just felt unbalanced. I also found that when it came to the narration of the story, there were some words and names in particular that the narrators pronounced differently. Now while I’m used to chalking it up to different parts of the world say things differently, in this case it felt like the names in particular the narrators and their vastly different pronunciation sometimes took me out of the moment and had me wondering who they were talking about. I felt like it was problematic and could have been solved by maybe consulting the author and then at least both of them would have been saying it the same way even if us listeners would have said it differently in our real lives. All in all, the storyline and pacing were interesting enough to want to finish and see it through once I started. I just found myself wishing certain things had been done differently.

A sad sad day...

This will be a very short review, as I'm unsure how to feel about this book. I'm going for either very sad or angry.

The premise is good, what happens in the book, the events etc... are good.
But it was rushed, so enormously rushed and all over the place :(
It started strong, and I insta bought it after reading the sample chapter, but it went downhill very quickly.

It felt like we were on a rollercoaster: something terrible happened, but before the "omg, this is so bad" event was even done, it was over. With her OP power, Bella instantly had the upper hand, and it was on to the next.
There was no time to let it sink in, to let the characters feel... there was minimal worldbuilding, pretty much no character development... just nothing :(

Gradually it felt like Bella had a personality change, or the author continued after a long pause without reading the previous parts (water kingdom was a serious turning point for the worse).

I wish it had been fleshed out a lot more (like, seriously, a lot) and a hell of a lot more editing. This could have easily been 2 or maybe even 3 books.
At this moment, I'm just happy I finished the book. I really wanted it to be good, it had the potential to be amazing, but no, just no :(

Enjoyable standalone

I like this book despite what you may think after seeing a three star review, but man oh man some things super threw me off.

First off it definitely needed more editing done, 2nd we seemed to skip from point a to c a lot leaving you scratching your head wondering if you missed a paragraph or something (probably the most annoying thing in this book), the other thing that was weird but some people probably won't mind is, I'd swear like the whole book seemed to take place in about 2 weeks and yet it was even commented towards the end that it was 6 months, like what was happening during that time?

The only thing that I would really comment on hating about the actual STORY was um basically a talent competition can bag you a prince? Pretty sure that has never happened in the history of ever even in imagination land, heck I'd take an arranged marriage over a winner of a talent competition, at least that way hopefully my parents would find me somebody that is compatible or has the same types of values.

Seeing that there is another book available in the series, I'm hoping a little less rushing will be done to improve the book, because I do want to give this series and author another shot.

Her Elemental Mates

I was not ready for the world that lived inside this book. I knew that it was about wolves and the 4 elements, but the detail and story that fills these pages is something that I couldn’t have come up with myself.
The book starts with Belladonna walking in the graveyard. As it turns out, that is where she lives because her father is so fearful of how strong she is. He’s afraid because she is basically death incarnate. She can turn anyone and anything into ash with just a thought. She can also give people nightmares, which is what she did to her father after the last time he hurt her.
Bella goes on this quest to find a mate from each of the 4 elements. Along the way, she discovers the truth about the past and what her powers can really do as she adds more mates.
I really enjoyed watching Bella come out of her shell. She grew up thinking that no male could handle being her mate because of what she was. With each mate she collected, her strength grew until she finally understood that there is nothing wrong with her. She is just one strong woman.
The battles and the mystery in this book also kept me on my toes. I couldn’t put done the book without finding out if everyone was ok after each battle!
Another book to add to my favorites!

redundant

This book was okay. But it was a bit redundant. I want to add that there IS M/M/M in this book. And I hate that I read so far into it and then the male mates drop her essentially for each other. I would have never read this book prior and it’s unprofessional to not include that warning anywhere in the foreword.

**Spoilers

I agree with the prior review made by someone that her stating she was in the catacombs of the cemetery was redundant. I understand the need to explain it to each mate but it seems it was brought up a lot and it didn’t need to be. I also failed to understand how she was so elated with Orwell and then just backs out in one thought. If she knew the scents were wrong why even bond him? I don’t know if I will continue to read anything from this author because of these issues. I am an avid reader. I have over two thousand books read in just three years. I rarely leave a poor review because I understand how hard they work in these books. But I felt misled and got aggravated with a lot of the story. Not much made sense. The epilogue was also just not right nor really needed. Again her mates all having relations with each other while she was in heat? Make it make sense. Because it doesn’t.

This is going to be such a wild ride, Belladonna our FMC must now take over the ruling of the Shadow Court. After her brother was attacked by an Orc that left him unfit to rule, she must take over. She is a female alpha wolf, who possesses Destruction and Death Magic. She is a force to be reckoned with, and she's lethal, she also needs to take 4 mates to fully unleash the power needed to free her people. Her 4 mates must be one of the elements Air, Earth, Water and Fire.

This book has so much going on, political drama, action, angst, 🌶 , dangerous situations, and so much more. There is someone that is trying to prevent Belladonna from ascending to her rightful throne. We also discover that people that were considered Foes proved to be allies and vice versa.

There's also drama with female wolves, vampires, family, and a bit with her mates too. Can she overcome everything that is being thrown her way? Can she bring all the kingdoms together and close the gap between the Commoners and the Nobles? Will the dark magic consume her leading everything she's worked for to destruction?

I thoroughly liked the first half of the book. A little over halfway the storyline kind of had a flip flip like two different people were writing the book & had very different feelings about how to portray the characters. Even Bella was acting out of character and not in a good way because it all kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. Like literally a chapter or two ago the vibe was '___ offered to sleep on the couch & I kind of felt bad for him in this whole situation' & now it's suddenly '*bragging* yeah we made ____ sleep on the couch because he's such an entitled posessive jerk'. That kind of inconsistency would usually make it a dnf for me, but I pushed through. In a RH I often see a somewhat even balance between the love interests, but in this book there appears a clear favorite. Although it was nice to see how that type of situation would play out it made me realize that I don't care for it. In a critical time of uncertainty when you realize that two of the characters were off making plans with everyone else, but leaving the rest of the mates confused and in the dark it definitely does not make them seem like a team or family.

I received this book for an honest review.

Bella was born as the second child. Fate intervenes and she is to become heir to her kingdom and to go and find mates to reunite all kingdoms.

I read the story in a short three days and I liked it but I think the fast reading was why I got super confused with the time line. Whilst I thought a couple of weeks had passed, it says the story played out for almost six month while everything happened. So, there happened some confusion.

Still, the book is a good read when one takes the time to read it carefully and not try to read as fast as possible because there's so much stuff happening left and right to Bella and her men that you can't really stop reading :D

I feel like a duology might have been an option with everything that's happening - there really isn't much time to breathe for the characters.

Overall, the characters are badass, the story is a stand-alone (with another book coming from another character), there's some smuty hotness going on and quite a few other interesting things. Would recommend :)

Her Elemental Mates

This is a book that is so unique and takes us into a world that I’ve never seen. Where wolves have elemental powers and can wield it with deadly impact.

Our FMC is strong, sensitive and she doesn’t shy away from making the hard decisions. I always dread reading of FMC’s who hym and haw over their gifts, the “why me” whining drives me crazy! But Belladonna knows her powers, works with her strengths and tries to overcome any weaknesses she may believe she has.

Although her family never believed in her, and didn’t really show her love, or protection, she is being forced to travel among the other royals in the lands and take mates from all the other packs. Belladonna hates the idea of taking a mate, believing she will be a burden to them…but everything changes as she finds her first fated mate!

Join Belladonna as she journeys to other lands, fights for her right to pick her mates and fights all those seeking to destroy the last people of her line!

You will definitely be unable to put this book down!

So this one was not a bad book and i wanted to like it but it was hard for me.
The story felt rushed and it felt that if the book was a duology or trilogy or each mate had their own books it would be better.
As it is the story fee.
lt rushed and i didn't feel that we got to actual see the FMC with each mate and we didn't get to see them develop their relationship as they had to rush off to find the next mate and the next mate and the next one.
If each mate has their own book the story would be able to develop more and we would be able to get more feedback on what was going on with each pack and each struggle and the romance between the couple evolve and the characters evolve.
The story plot has potential and the characters though well written were not given space to be more and to see more of them.
The plot despite the fact that it was nice has lots of plot holes as well and we were left with many things still unresolved.
Still this is the first book in the series so i hope that as we go we see more and we have all our unresolved issues handled.
