스물아홉 살에 인턴으로 AR그룹에 입사하게 된 우승현은 출근 첫날부터 지각 아닌 지각과 말실수를 해 지독한 워커홀릭 파트장 김종찬에게 찍혀버리게 된다. 유명하고 실력 좋지만, 무뚝뚝한 성격으로 많은 사람이 불편해하는 종찬. 승현 또한 이런 종찬이 어렵지만 타 부서에서 떠넘긴 업무를 막아준 일을 계기로 둘 사이에 작은 신뢰가 생기게 된다. 그러던 중 회사 내에서 승현이 이십 대의 절반을 바쳐 사랑했던 첫사랑 유성과 마주치게 되는데, 공교롭게도 유성은 종찬과 보통 사이가 아닌 듯하다.

종찬은 회의에서 승현을 추천하며 함께 프로젝트를 진행하게 되고, 프로젝트를 진행하면서 나눈 대화 속에 두 사람 사이에 미묘한 기류가 흐르게 된다. 하지만, 아직 극복하지 못한 첫사랑의 기억으로 승현은 같은 영역의 사람과 얽히는 사내연애를 꺼리며 쉽사리 마음의 문을 열지 않는다.

일전에 갈등이 있었던 타 부서에서 앙갚음을 하기 위해 승현을 술자리로 불러내고, 이 상황을 우연히 알게 된 종찬은 술자리로 찾아가 승현을 구한다. 서러움에 눈물이 터진 승현을 달래던 종찬은 승현에게 입을 맞추는데….

과연 승현은 첫사랑의 그늘에서 완전히 벗어나 연애와 일을 모두 쟁취할 수 있을까?

This was a very refreshing webtoon. It's good to read webtoons where the adults actually behave like adults. I love how short and compact this webtoon was [40 chapters] because there was no dragging of plot lines or misunderstandings between the two leads.

Mr. Kim was such a sweet guy, I'm surprised all his past lovers complained about his lack of passion in their relationship but I guess it took a certain guy - Seunghyun - to bring out the best in Mr. Kim.

Seunghyun was really adorable and his naivety in relationships was so cute too. I loved seeing him become more confident and outspoken as his relationship with Mr. Kim progressed.

Overall, a really sweet, STEAMMMYYY and mature webtoon. Highly recommend.

The art is beautiful, the story is a touch slow and wordy with the advertising stuff but still such a good story. I need to read the rest.

Kim Jongchan, the man that you are!

One of my favorite office romances, some people have said it had too much talk of actual work and not enough of the romance but I don’t think the story would be the same without it. Both Jongchan and Seunghyun are passionate about the work they do and it’s vital to their characters.

La historia fue separada en tres volúmenes pero yo voy a hacer una sola reseña para todas las partes.
Me gustó la historia pero fue un poco aburrida. La pareja principal es muy cute y ambos tienen muy buena química pero todo el tema empresarial fue extremadamente tedioso, la verdad es que me salte la mayoría de las páginas que trataban de charlas laborales. Mi otro problema fue que le faltó angst y drama porque el plot principal de la historia llega a su punto más alto y te quedas como: “¿eso es todo?” “¿Este va a ser todo el problema que van a tener que enfrentar?” meh.
Al final voy a terminar olvidándome de este libro muy pronto.

Un romance de oficina, bonito pero tal vez un poco apresurado o no se, nunca he vivido un romance de estos ja, ja, ja (⁠ب⁠_⁠ب⁠)

Lo que tenemos aparte del romance es un situación común en todas partes: el obtener un puesto a base de contactos y la desilusión que causa ver que la capacidad y conocimientos al final no son suficientes. De cualquier forma siempre es bueno tener a alguien que no dude de lo que eres capaz y te apoye creyendo que puedes seguir creciendo profesionalmente ꒰⁠⑅⁠ᵕ⁠༚⁠ᵕ⁠꒱⁠˖⁠♡
No es una historia muy larga así que es una justa dosis de amor, drama y demás.

I love an office romance, and I'm glad I still picked this up after being disappointed by Punch Drunk Love Vol. 1 by the same author because this dynamic is exactly what I want from an office romance. Nearly up there with my favorite office romance, On or Off 01.

Me gusta que se muestre la dificultad de muchos jóvenes de no encontrar ese lugar en la vida laboral, el como se ha estipulado una edad para cada cosa en la vida y si no estás en ese molde sientes la presión y eres realmente juzgado, aún así, el protagonista no llega a sufrir todo lo que podría por este hecho.

Woo Seung-hyun hat seine erste Praktikumsstelle bei einer renommierten Werbeagentur ergattert - sie soll ihm Halt und Sinn geben, wenn da nicht sein Vorgesetzter Kim Jong-chang wäre. Der ist durch und durch ein Workaholic. Zunächst kann er mit dem unsicheren Praktikanten nichts anfangen - aber dann …

Ich gebe es zu, das schnucklige Cover hat mich schon ein bisschen angefixt. Und die Story klang auch ganz cool. Seung-hyun mochte ich nach ein paar Kapiteln. Er ist eine Figur, die im Umgang mit anderen in der Arbeitswelt anfangs noch unsicher und vorsichtig ist, fachlich jedoch wirklich etwas drauf hat. Das bringt ihn nicht nur einmal in unbequeme Situationen - und erweckt gleichzeitig eben auch die Aufmerksamkeit von Kim, seinem Vorgesetzten. Das Verhältnis der beiden wird im Laufe des ersten Bandes enger - die Story fokussiert sich auf die beiden auf das Verhältnis zueinander und auf ihr Verhältnis zur Arbeit in der Agentur. Beide sind ehrgeizig und zielstrebig - und das verbindet sie. Gleichzeitig bekommt der Leser einen Einblick in die Arbeitswelt - ich hatte den Eindruck, dass sie ziemlich hierarchisch geprägt ist.

Der Zeichenstil ist ziemlich nüchtern gehalten und spielt, obwohl er farbig ist, nur mit wenigen Farben in einem Panel. Insbesondere im Bürosetting verlieh das dem Manhwa einen distanzierten Anstrich, in den ich mich nicht so richtig hineinfinden konnte. Natürlich verstärkte diese nüchterne Farbgebung die Atmosphäre von Strebsamkeit in einer renommierten großen Agentur. Für mich blieben dabei nur leider die beiden Protagonisten genauso blass und unnahbar für mich.

Näher gekommen sind die beiden sich in diesem BoysLove eigentlich über die Arbeit und stereotype Situationen.

Bei mir hat der Manhwa leider nur bedingt gezündet. Schade! Alle, die mit Büroromanzen und Spicy-Szenen etwas anfangen können, sollten mal einen Blick darauf werfen. Ich werde die Reihe aber nicht weiter verfolgen.

Picked this up after watching the Kdrama based on this (the seven episode series New Employee) and a lot of the events are overlapping but this was still a cute read that promises stuff the kdrama didn't cover in its next two volumes. It was nice to get more insight to Mr. Kim's thoughts than what the kdrama provided, and I feel this Seunghyun reads as more mature to him, especially with his expressed desire to not be so dependent on people as he allowed himself to be in college, following a crush around like a puppy. There are some deeper moments but nothing too heavy and this feels very much like a queer office romcom.

And the sexual honesty and curiosity in this, with Seunghyun taking those first steps into a relationship. Gets spicy toward the end!
