Young, fragile, glass-like… All the things I'd been called growing up by everyone in my short life. Everyone except for him… Alexander Caddel. The man thirteen years my senior, the man who held all of the power, and the man who I no longer recognised. The man who called me, Trouble.
Lex
Ruthless, inconsiderate, strong… Were all the things I'd been called during my time on Earth and it was the truth. I had learned how to fend for myself. Now everything I'd ever worked for was hanging on by a thread because of her. Aimee Vens. The girl I'd known her entire life, the girl I'd watch grow and the girl I wanted more than I wanted my next breath. The girl I called Trouble...
This series is a fabulous read; each book or duet can be read as a standalone, which means you can pick it up wherever you want. I loved the age gap in this one, and it's easy to see the chemistry building between the characters until they finally can't keep their hands off each other, but it's never that simple, is it? Lex is delicious, and Aimee is young but knows exactly what she wants. They shouldn't be together, but when love comes knocking, who are we to deny it? This one is slightly lighter than this author's other books but don't be fooled into thinking it's a sweet romance. Nope, we've got plenty of steam, some soul searching and angst sewn in too.
Chasing trouble is interlinked with Anna’s debut broken souls. Aimee is the baby of the family and everyone goes out their way to protect her, which in turn has Aimee living a life pleasing her family instead of what she chooses. When turning 18 she slowly starts recognises what SHE wants. The only issue being is Daddy Henry is not quite ready to let go of his little girl yet.
Then comes Lex… Alexander Caddel has been apart of the Vens family for pretty much all his life. The young billionaire has made a life and name for himself but when Henry comes calling for a favour Lex cannot say no.
The story that unravels is beautiful. I always love Anna’s characters and it was nice to see more into the world of Aimee and the introduction of Lex 🤤. I actually love an age gap when done right and Anna has written this beautifully. She captured Aimee’s maturity and Lex’s boyish charm which in turn makes them a perfect match… age being nothing but a number.
Chasing trouble follows Aimee Vens, the baby of the family, and Lex Caddel the family friend who should be keeping well away from the Vens Princess.
Daddy Henry is not quite willing to let go of his little girl, so when Aimee turns 18 he sends her off to work for long time friend and business partner Lex Caddel. Working for Lex is not where Aimee wants to be, but she hates to disappoint her father. She promises him 6 months and if she hates it Henry promises to let her chose her own path. Lex is a 31 year old billionaire that looks up to Henry like a father, but when Aimee turns up at his office door Lex starts to wonder whether his relationship with Henry is enough to stop him chasing her. This story is beautiful, and interlinks with Anna’s Debut ‘Be mine Baby’. Anna writes this age gap romance beautifully, with Aimee’s maturity and Lex childish charm at the forefront. Age is just a number for these two. There’s secrets, betrayal and heartbreak along the way, but this is one story you don’t want to miss
Chasing trouble has been my first book by the author Anna White. It tells the story of the baby of the Vens Dynasty and her older childhood crush. As the book developed it was clear the childhood crush manifested into adult love and mutual respect. I really enjoyed parts of the books. I didn't particularly like that the father Henry was a gangster but it really never went into detail too much as how he was a gangster. There was a part of the story which eluded to the roles of the sons and why they needed to be running the streets. I would have liked to know what this meant. However beside these small points it doesn't detract from a great love story and a HEA. Would love to know some of the brothers stories. I would recommend this book as an easy and enjoyable read. Perfect for the summer.
Being 13 years older than her, friends with her older brother and working with her father, Lex witnessed Aimee grow up to be a beautiful woman, one that he can’t deny his attraction to. Aimee has always had a crush on her big brothers friend but now as she’s all grown up and working for him, she’s out to prove that she isn’t a little girl anymore. This was a much lighter read than I expected it to be, but it didn’t come without its ache. I fell instantly in love with Aimee and her sweet outlook on life and Lex with his absolute adoration for her. They were hot, loving and complemented each other perfectly, I rooted for them from the first page. My heart broke at the situation they were coerced into, and I was frustrated the way things were playing out. But, Anna White is the best at ripping your heart out and putting it back together better than it was before.
Your words continue to amaze me Anna. I knew this was going to be lighter than the other 2 books in this series and god Anna, you write so bleeding well. Aimee and Lex had me reeled in straight from the get go. I fell in love with these two. They were just so cute, caring and loving towards each other. What a girl Aimee, that girl has my heart. And Lex, what a man. Even though he did annoy me at that "part". I cried for a sold 25% of this book. My heart hurt for them. But I'm glad it happened the way it did. My heart is happy. If any 2 souls are meant to be, then its Aimee amd Lex 💗
Age gap- forced proximity- brother’s friend- dad’s business colleague.
When Aimee is forced to leave the family home so she wants to stay at home backfires when she falls in love with her childhood crush which so happens to be her dads business associate and brothers friend. Can their love for each other withstand these challenges?
Well written and I could see a great FF book coming from this.
