I didn't grow up in Pwllheli in the 1950's or 60's. I did, however, live there as a young adult in the 1980's. So although much of this book is before my time there, I was able to picture a lot of the places - the streets, shops and - of course! - the pubs. And occasionally even some of the people (particularly the towns 'characters' of which there were quite a few!) I was also able to picture one of Jos Simon's brothers who contributes a few tales here and there. He's a friend of mine!
So, as you will see, I have a slightly biased view here, but Jos really does have a way with words and a refreshing honesty to go with it. I enjoyed this book more and more as it went on x

Really nicely written memoirs of growing up in Pwllheli. Whether you once lived there or not, it’s a lovely and relatable read.
