Lica Nichols is used to being at a disadvantage. Having lost most of her sight in her late twenties, she has learned to live a full and purposeful life using her remaining senses, especially her hearing. Lica is a renowned expert in her field of audiology. She often works with police and the FBI to help them solve crimes.
She doesn’t trust new people easily, but that changes when the beast of a man who calls himself Bear pulls her from the fire in her house. Something about him makes her feel safe. Lica can’t deny the feelings that he ignites in her as they get to know each other and wonders if she can trust him with her heart.
Bear is a good man with a big heart, and like the members of his MC, he believes in protecting women and children. Never fearing for his life, he rushes into a burning house to bring out its owner. That act of bravery and selflessness opens the door to becoming a part of Lica’s world.
Lica Nichols is unlike any woman Bear has ever met. Even with a disability, she is fierce and independent. Bear realizes how much she means to him when his intriguing neighbor disappears under suspicious circumstances. With the help of his club and others, Bear will do whatever it takes to bring her home.
Agreat start to the series but i Really feel I should have started with Tempting Tanya as this introduced some the the characters. Really liked Near as he is such a caring man. I was somewhat annoyed with Lica pronounced Lisa as she kept her feelings too close and never really was totally honest with Bear who clearly adored her. But a lovely story - somewhat inspirational as Eden, who is a member of the Beast motorcycle club, is a staunch Christian. Great start to the Beast motorcycle club series. Would recommend this book but you could start with the previous series beginning with "Tempting Tanya" which I shall be reading next!!Thanks Kimberly!
I love a good mature romance and this story of Bear and Lica was sweet and sexy😘😘😘.
Bear as the name implies is a big guy with an absolute kind heart and his willingness to help Lica a complete stranger was never in question🤗. Lica being partially blind had reservations trusting people however her other senses helped in accepting his help☺️. It was nice to read that her disability didn’t hinder her as Lica was a strong independent women that could take care of herself. I appreciated the way Bear courted her, the ride on the bike was such a sweet gesture and loved their chemistry together🥰🔥🥰. Dogs know best and playing house felt right but I understood how Lica needed to get control back of her life. It was funny seeing how much Harley🐶 kept connecting with Bear while playing house and Lica seeming to be annoyed😉. I so enjoyed Harley's internal dialogue speaking to them both to get it together, it was everything😁. Seeing the Watson brothers help Bear search for the person wanting to harm Lica is what friendship and family is all about❤️🙌🏾❤️
I'm glad that in the end Bear and Lica made it work with Bear putting his foot down about him caring for her even while she kept her independence❤️😘❤️. Ms. Smith always does amazing work with all her mature romance books and this was no exception🙌🏾. I’m looking forward to all the books in the series, next up is Hawk.
I am loving these over 40 romance novels. I enjoyed reading the story about Bear (Brandon) and Lica. What I liked- 1) Bear was a great guy that cared about others and stepped up to help Lica out without even knowing her, 2) a can’t see that well female lead who was independent, smart and strong, 3) a lovable fur baby who’s knew what was up from day one. What I didn’t like- the spelling of the female lead character’s name and the author needs a good proofreader. There were a few spots with a word missing and the sentence did not make sense. Ultimately I gave the book five stars because the characters were different, the story was solid and I love a happy ever after.
Bear comes to Lica's rescue and sparks fly between the two. Lica is use to being independent and only use to having Harley as her constant companion. But, their is an undeniable chemistry between her and Bear. But, because she now temporarily needs somewhere to live and the system is going to intervene to challenge her living situation she must depend on Bear. The circumstances surrounding her having to move somewhere else short term is suspicious. I loved Harley's internal dialogue. This was an enjoyable read.
This story was full of action, friendship, loyalty, brotherhood and love Bear and Lica finding love unexpectedly was fun to see and seeing the other brothers and sisters from the Road Beasts was a plus All these stories of this MC are wonderful and the characters are relatable from Kimberly Smith. she writes interesting stories and keeps you turning the pages until you get to the end and wish you weren’t there yet Another great job Kimberely Now on yo read about Hawk
I didn't think this would be a good book, I was wrong. This was really good. I love how he looked pass her vision impairment and saw her. I love her dog character. I can also understand Lica having dependent issues. She wanted to be and was independent. I love how Lica was accepted. There is so much I can say about this book, but I will let you read it for yourself. I am thinking of purchasing the series so I can read it again and again. Love this book. Now on to the next one.
I just think this book needs some fine-tuning to improve the flow, and bring the written word to life. The dialogue was a bit choppy, and there could have been better word choices that were more visually descriptive. Clearly, the author’s heart is found in her writing, but I just think it needs more texture, and dimension. As such, this book really didn’t capture my attention. Again, I want a lot more nuance, and maturity from a romance about a couple over 40. I DNF’d at 10%.
BEAR & LICA were beautiful couple. Its always great to read about over 40 characters. I love that LICA is such a strong female character. A little stubborn but that’s all good. BEAR is such a sweetheart seeing him in his own gave a better view of his character and he not being so serious as he was in the others.
Let’s not forget about HARLEY!! It was her POV for me!! 🤣🤣 The parts with her comments were so cute.
It was great catching up with the Mike, Tanya , Carl, & Eden. I am here for all of the Beast stories!
To use a sport analogy, the author but the ball out of the park
This book was a very good read. It showed that having a disability did not mean you are worth less t bhai an an able bodied person. I hated how the state tried to take away her independence, her ability to live life and make her own decisions like everybody else. This book opened my eyes to how vulnerable blind people feel.
A strong LIKE for me. I Liked Bear, who is a former MC leader turned legit. He falls for Lica, a blind computer tech, who with her dog is caught in a house fire. I really liked Bear. He was strong and dependable without being too Alpha. Lica was a bit more prickly. she was so independent to the point where she wouldn't let anyone in or help her. I mean, I get it. You don't want to be a pushover. But follow your instinct!
I really liked Harley, as in Harley Davidson! I liked Bear, he was a protector, even more so for those he really knew and liked or loved! Lica, not so much, as she had let past hurt and her disability blind her to the huge chip on her shoulder! A brush with danger gave both a chance to reevaluate their thinking and move forward in the love that had developed between them as they got to know each other❣️
And things done in the dark soon come to the light And in the case of Lica her world was suppose to be dark and uneventful with hidden talents but for Bear and Harley she was everything bright and light to their world of beasts...Mature love strikes again...can't get enough, keep em' coming👏👍😘😍😉😏😊😆😀😃😁😄😅😂😎🙋💓💗💞💘😈
This was a pretty good jump off to keep the series alive. The action wasn't to bad either. But I do have 1 question. Weren't all these couples on the other side of50? And now they're pregnant???
This was a really great romance suspense story. I loved Live and Bear...oh I can't forget Harley!!! I really enjoyed this story and can't wait for the next book in this series!! I love the Road Beasts!
Bear is a member of the Road Beast. He meets Lica when her house burns down. Interesting read a book with confusing idea Christian romance or ex one percent bikers but pre marital sex iam very confused.
The road beasts series books is a great books to read. I read the first and second one and started to read the third one. I couldn’t put the book down. Kimberly Smith is a wonderful writer. Keep up the good work.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book reading the dog’s thoughts were very creative and funny as heck I would definitely recommend giving this book a read
I was intrigued by the heroine being visually impaired as I hadn’t read a story like that before. I loved the little additions of Harley’s thoughts. Very amusing
But it's not a 4. Needs editing for sure!! I loved the story though. I started with book 3 on accident and now I'm at 1. Can't wait to read the next story.
Lica was my girl!! I already loved the guys Bear just made it better. And Harley’s commentary was hilarious. I loved the “blind” representation in this story.
I am enjoying the mature romance stories by this author. Brandon 'Bear' Kodiac saw a need and he filled it. Lica Nichols is visibly impaired and while is is extremly hesitate to except assistance from anyone. She has no choice when Bear, Eden, Carl and the rest of the Road Beast step in, she is going to need it. While I enjoyed this story, Lica made me want to shake her at times. The commentary from Harley was so cute, and I loved it.
I received an advance reader copy of this book from the author. This reveiw is purely from my perspective and all opinions are my own. I am under no obligation to review the book.
