Now his demon who does his bidding on Earth tells him that The Helm of Darkness has been stolen and is sitting on a club owner’s desk. The owner uses it to capture girls to sell to the highest bidder. Hades now travels to Earth to get it back and seek his revenge only to find a woman that captured his heart.

Dubbed the club slave she takes care of the rest of the girls that had also been taken from their homes. Jillian works day in and day out for eleven years, wondering when she would be sold to the highest bidder in the VIP lounge. When that fateful night finally comes, she finds herself cuffed to a strip pole staring at four devilishly handsome men in the audience. One man, in particular, had ablaze in his eyes that she could not look away from.
♥This is the first book in a series and can be read as a stand alone. The prequel is available from another series called The Alpha's Kitten. This is also an epic novel of slow burn romance and adventure.♥
Caution: This book contains sexual content, talk of sex trafficking, abuse, demons, witches, werewolves, torture. Not suited for anyone under 18.
Trigger warning: physical abused (mentioned in passing), violence (few details of torturing), human trafficking
I had to say I do enjoy reading this one though it had a very long and kinda slow burned book (but instalove because all romance happened in a mere month). But it was a good one with all the intrigues, bit action, and smutty romance. My kinda book.
Okay, so the story actually picked up the previous series, Under the Moon, though new readers could easily catch up since it was actually a standalone book. The story went when Selene, The Moon Goddess, start to pair up deities. The first lucky victim was Hades. Hades, who got bitter since Persephone left him for her true mate, didn't believe in Selene's words that he got a true-mate out there for him; a mate that wasn't Persephone. Years laters he accidentally met Jillian, his supposedly mate, under dire circumstances. She was abused, malnourished, being slaved, and sold on underground auction. So, what a underworld God had to but to save his one true mate. But would Jillian accept him when she found out that Hades once rejected her? Or the fact that her life could be so much different if Hades accept his mate? And how about the villain who played in putting Jillian's life into a miserable path? Ooooo the plot thickens...
First of all, this book was long. The plot was snailed pace with telling us all the details in the relationship. There were multiple PoV from few side characters and MCs. These multiple PoV then create some interesting (romance) side story. A good use of side characters, let me tell you. Although it looked like it's slowburned romance, it was actually an instalove one due to the mating bond. It looks slowburned because the slow pace and the all-tale style of small details. Personally, I enjoyed it. I felt like all these small details made up a sweet courting story for the MCs. But, if yo don't have the patience to following this type of courting, this book probably felt boring for you. Another star points for me was that you kinda predicted the villain but nothing was actually clear up until the middle of the story. Plus, we might familiar with some of the Greek deities, but Vera cleverly mixed it with some other folklore and pnr beings, which made it interesting and kept us guessing. I don't wanna spill to much. In the end, this book had thrill, suspense, secret-of-birth, bit of actions, bunch of steamy romance from different characters, interesting pairings, betrayal, and some serious twist in the story.
Virgin h, celibate H (main character) One mate for life universe There's pleasure mate Multiple PoV, 1st person No drama/angst No cheating Medium high heat steam HEA, epilogue Overall score: 4.5 pnr romance stars
I have always had a soft spot for Hades, the god of the underworld and this book makes him the star I always wanted him to be. In this book, Hades just kidnapped Persephone but waited to mate her. He wanted her willing but after a thousand years, she still didn't want him. Then the goddess Selene showed up with an angel and told Hades that he and Persephone were not fated. The angel was Persephone's fated mate. Hades spent the next 1500 years lonely and pouting. Then Selene comes to him to tell him that his fated mate has just been born. She warns him that if he ignores her too long, their mating will be a lot more difficult. Hades has had enough with fated mates and ignores Selene. Twenty years later he and some of his friends are tearing down a human trafficking club that has supernatural ties. He bids on the innocent waitress Jillian and is determined to make her his. He quickly learned that Jillian was his fated mate and has been a slave since she was 8 years old. She had no memories of her past. Hades is determined to keep his mate but how is he going to break his true identity to her? Also will she ever forgive him for not being there for her?
Jillian was kidnapped from her family at a young age. Her first memory is waking up in the basement cell at the strip club and being told her name is Jillian. She is treated like a slave and is forced to clean up and cook for her new master. She has to scrounge for food to live on and is frequently beaten. She never gets to see the sun or feel the earth beneath her. She knows that any time her master could sell her. He does make multiple attempts but she acts so feral, no one is willing to buy her. Then her master tells her she will be sold tonight or he will take her v-card. Luckily Jillian's new master, Hades is kind and caring. He takes care of her and treats her to the life she never had. She is falling for Hades but he is a lot more than he seems.

If I'm going closer to the truth I'm going with a 3.5. The book had a good premise. I love the Greek mythology as it tends to be one of my favorite styles of books, but I will be honest and say that the book veers off in this "everyone needs a happy ending" tangent that the plot almost stops so everyone can get a mate.
Still enjoyable and I am happy for all the happily ever afters but it seemed rushed.

I was a bit hesitant to read this at first. It was a slow start but picked up and went for the stars! I loved it and as always lots of live and happily ever after. Steamy scenes galore! Love love love all her books and I've read almost all of them. Have yet to find one I don't like!
That was a great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it, couldn't put it down! This is book one in the God series, but in the Under The Moon: The Pack series (I think), there were 8 books, I believe, including the prequel to this book. They were fantastic as well and I highly recommend you read those books before reading these God Series books, because there are things in this book that you would only recognize or understand if you read the other series first.
Now, about this book... DAMN Hades sounds hot as hell! No punn intended. I would love to be Queen of the Underworld if Hades was really the way he is in this book. Of course, I wouldn't mind being Ember either, except for the b.s. she goes through in her early years, I could do without that. But I wouldn't mind having her life with Hades plus her powers, and also be her petite size, lol. This book has adventure, action, magic, Greek Gods, love, sadness, humour, sex, battles, torture, sex trafficking (a little bit), fantasy, romance, death, anger, lies, Demons, kidnapping, destruction, mystery, domination, Angels, happiness, secrecy, betrayal, hope, excitement, revenge, and so much more!
The only unfortunate issue with all of these books is that it doesn't appear that they were proofread. The writing is pretty bad, not awful, but bad enough to be annoying. There are problems with sentence structure, spelling, grammar, and some sentences you have to rewrite in your head just for them to make sense. I'm pretty used to it after reading nine books by this author, but when I see a problem in the writing, I immediately think about less experienced readers and wonder... a) are they going to understand this? And b) are they going to (for example) think this is proper grammar and start using it? I think authors are held to a higher standard because writing is their job, they should be expected to write correctly and properly (in my opinion).
Anyway, I recommend these series to anyone who is looking for the things I listed above. And don't worry too much about the writing, believe me, the stories are worth it! Enjoy!
I only finished this book for the sake of finishing it.
+1 star for Blaze and Cerberus content. This truly felt like a 3am fever dream rambling. The story showed promise at first, but then everything fell flat. The characters become very 2D and bleak. Like, Ember, girl, show ANY emotion other than wanting sex or being a little bit airheaded. She lost her memories, but then suddenly, she has them all back and continues on with life like normal? Then it’s not touched on again?? Like woohoo!! She knows where she came from now! But like, never really expanded on the dark and light magic and how it really REALLY unraveled? We’re just kind of told it did.
The spice was…. Okay. Just okay. Some scenes were great. But all of it was ruined tenfold because the authors use of the words “CAVE AND CAVERN” when referencing Ember’s vagina. Immediately a boner killer. I had to highlight some of these lines because I literally could not believe it was real. This felt like an early 2010s Wattpad fanfiction. But it was just okay enough for me to finish it.
I will say, Lucifer’s and Uriel’s story sounds interesting, but if I read it and I see that a pussy is referred to as a CAVERN AGAIN?? I’m going to be so upset.
If you love Hades and Greek mythology, then this is a beautiful twist on the story you already know. After having Persephone in the underworld the gods are being granted fated mates, and Hades is not her mate. She’s taken away and over centuries Hades has become the feared god we know him to be.
However, Selene has granted him a mate which he refuses to acknowledge, which leads to a sequence of events that sees Hades becoming a little softer and accepting his bond with Ember even before he knows her true story.
Characters from previous books in this series will make an appearance, and some new lovable ones will be introduced, Ares being one of my favorites along with Loukas. This is a page turner with never a dull moment. There are mentions of abuse but not overly so. A great read I highly recommend.
I really wanted to like this but I couldn’t finish it. I got about 15% through it and had to stop. The dialogue is not good it’s super formal I one breath and then super casual the next. It would also shift from past to present tense in the middle of a paragraph. Common colloquialisms were written incorrectly at one point I’m assuming the author meant he had his head in his hands but instead they wrote “he had his hands inside his head.” The final straw was when the main character referred to someone helping her and then in the next sentence she referred to the wrong person.
It’s a good premise, and could be good but it needs an editor, badly.
"Seeking Hades' Ember" was a fantastic read. It's the story of Hades, God of the Underworld, and his mate Ember. Through many painful twists and turns, Hades eventually mates with his beloved Ember. The journey is what is so captivating and Vera Foxx, as usual, has crafted a beautifully written and engaging paranormal book about good, evil, and the power of love.
I won't give away the plot because the reader should enjoy every page of this book as much as I did. All I can disclose is that there is quite a bit of matchmaking for mates that is done throughout the book, which is so much fun to read.

It was nice to see some of the folks from previous books. Ember's disappearance has been spoken about in a few books so I'm glad we finally got to her story.
I'm a huge fan of greek mythology that my daughter's name is from greek mythology.
We have tons of side characters that are entertaining and add to the storyline that may be able to even have their own books if they wanted to.
Hades and Ember's story is a slow burn but very intriguing. Now I'm off to read about their child Lucifier.
Ok, I keep saying "this is my favorite book in the serie" with each book but seriously this one is!! I loved the bonding between the gods and their mates 😍 I decided to read the books in order and I got some spoilers in the last 2, so if you are wondering when should you read this one it could be immediately after the Alpha's Kitten or even wait for the Dark War
Hades one of my favorite was portrayed perfectly. He’s like that cousin everyone has who’s the bad boy of the family. But his loyalty? Knows no bound. I was looking forward to this book since we read about Wesley and Charlie . And along the ride a few more of the Gods got their soulmates and demons too! How cool! Recommend this story if you want a good laugh, be ticked off at the villains and recognize the redeeming arcs of other characters.
This book had so much going on.! I am actually surprised that I enjoyed it. It drew me in from the start, and took me all over the place. I did cheat some, all these books has sex scenes and once you read one book they all kinda blend. I read a couple of pages of it. It was hot not going to lie. But still the same.
Hades always thought persephone was the one until she was matched with another. Jillians life had been h*ll butbwhat happens when she meets Hades and discovers he's her mate, and her life could have been different if he had acted sooner. Well written engaging desires, drama and more.

I would have given it 4* because of the poor editing, and the many grammar mistakes and the name mixing. But I cannot because I loved Hades so much. He was the epitome of perfection. The absolute everything any woman could wish in her man. And of course Ember was an amazing female lead. I loved the book and the plot and everything.
I loved Hades and Ember! I felt so many emotions with this book! There were a lot of tears! In particular having to do with embers parents. (This is a standalone but I would read alpha's kitten at least). I also loved seeing the other gods. In particular I loved Ares and Vulcan and Hermes. I can't wait to read the next book!!
Storyline and length ❤️❤️❤️❤️🖤 Very different and interesting story. Not just your average love story, and it's overall really great! I really enjoy the plot and thrill of it, but the story is sometimes a bit too drawn out with the repetition of situations from different characters p.o.v, without it adding major difference to the story.
Characters ❤️❤️❤️❤️🖤 Really great characters, with a fun depiction of the Olympic gods. The female lead has a really good character arc, as she grows and gets more confident as the story progresses
Is it captivating? ❤️❤️❤️❤️🖤 Full of twists and turns, and a good amount of action! It would have been 5/5 hearts if there hadn't been the repetition of situations from different characters p.o.v, because it does (in my opinion) take away from the readers immersion into the story, as some chapters become repititive
This was a great start to a new series. The character work and story line were well written and kept me hooked from start to finish. I can't wait to see what Vera Foxx has in store for us next.

I had no expectations because it’s a Vera book and all her books are just 10/10. But this book was more than I could have asked for. My goodness. I am so excited to read the next one and see what happens for our dear friend Lucifer.
I’ve never read a Vera Foxx book before, so I was incredibly happy that this was the first one I read of hers!!! Although, I will say that the multiple POVs got a little confusing at some parts, but it’s still overall amazing.
This is such an amazing book! Mythology is my all time favorite subject and mix with a little spice and you have this masterpiece. Read it! It will never fail to transport you to a magical place.
The plot was interesting. The dialogue killed it. So much giddiness and giggling. You've got characters that say f***, p***y, etc, but then say "I'm in deep poo". Or "he's going to kick your sorry butt." There was so much potential.
I really enjoyed this book. It has parts where I felt that it dragged on, but overall I really loved it. I’m hoping there’s a part two where we learn more about their children and their mates and maybe even finding Zeus a mate.
I loved how this book was about hades and how he fell in love and finding his light to his darkness. It was sweet and also very interesting and a very good book. I couldn’t wait to start the second book in the series.
What a twist. Hades brought to his knees! Fated mates; Soul mates etc. Read this story in one sitting. Wonder though, about no mates for Zeus? Must be another story.
With how long this book was it could have easily been turned into a trilogy to properly explore the plot or benefitted from some more editing and proofreading.
And while I did really enjoy it, if I have to read “flower”, “honeydew” or “quivering cavern” again I’ll throw up
Just wow, I didn't want this book to end but couldn't stop reading it. 5*. The character development is amazing, hades is just chefs kiss. And Ember, best FMC I've read recently
