The Player I Love to Hate

Rate this book
Live with my enemy for the next month...
What could possibly go wrong?

When my brother said he needed a place to crash, he forgot to mention Ethan Waters was part of the package. Broody and bossy, I hate my brother's best friend and NHL teammate with a passion.

Years ago, we hooked up behind my brother's back.
And then, the cocky player disappeared.

I still hate him for ditching me in the past.
I don't care how good he looks in a towel.
Or how skilled he is with his hands.

But after a few angry kisses turn into the hottest night of my life, I can't get him out of my head. And if I'm not careful, Ethan will break my heart... again.

Boring and wholly unbelievable.

The FMC, Mia, is an investigative journalist. After some time passes in the book, she gets a lead about drugs and the Mafia. Instead of perusing this to death to get answers, she just… Let’s it go because the MMC, Ethan, tells her to? That’s ridiculous.
Nothing much actually happened in this already-short book. And I was so bored.
I hated the Ethan referred to Mia as ‘Little Lamb,’ I just cringed the whole time. Why do pet names for women always have to be put after ‘Little?’

The second chance + hate-to-love didn’t work for me. There was no chemistry and it went from ‘I hate him’ to ‘I’m so attracted to him’ in a few chapters. If it hadn’t been so rushed, it might have felt more realistic.

I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this one.

This book was on the boring side for some reason. Sometimes something odd annoys me and in this book it was the phrase “whispering into the shell of her ear”. Who on earth says that? It was in the book so many times and it’s creepy.

A light, steamy, fast read. This book honestly reminded me of CoHo's Ugly Love but with less with angst and meat packed into the story. Overall, a good read to past time.

Not great. I was more interested in Clarke and Will than these two. Not sure how characters with such history were so flat but they were! And so, so cheesy in spots.
