This is a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining storyline. The author brings together a small town rancher who is running for senator and a campaign manager looking to build her career. Sparks fly with their sizzling chemistry and passions. Now they have to work together. I enjoyed reading their story.

This book was “opposites attract” all the way. Jenna may have come from as small a town as Windy Creek, but she’s all Big City now. And though Michael may be looking to take his place in big city politics, he’s still a small town guy at heart. Can this country mouse and city mouse find common ground before it’s too late? Looking at the mess that is current politics, I really appreciated that the author gave us some very honorable characters in an often unsavory environment. I also quite enjoyed that Michael and Jenna weren’t the only pair this book was putting together. I’m very curious now to see what the final book brings.

"Rancher's One-Night Stand" (Windy Creek Romances Book 5) by Mary Sue Jackson was a great read. I enjoyed Michael and Jenna's story. This story had romance, passion, a surprise baby, hot cowboys, small-town life, close friends, and more. This was a nice addition to this series. Highly recommend it to all fans of romance, hot cowboys, small-town life, and series.

Rancher’s One Night Stand by Mary Sue Jackson is a pleasant rehash of the pregnant-after-a-one-night-stand trope but takes a different direction as this is about a man running to be a state senator and his campaign manager. Jenna had come west. She had been let go from her previous campaign job and was really done with hearing she was a woman so she would go nowhere. She was going to start her own company. That was one way to solve the problem. She ran into a really hot cowboy in a bar, spent a great night with him and was ready to move on when her college roommate told her about a local man who was running for state senate in a special election and could maybe use a campaign manager. They made an appointment to meet and of course, guess who? They talked and decided they could make a go of it. It would only be for the three months until the special election and she might be able to use this campaign for her future. Little did she know Michael Townsend was her future.
Both strong characters, Michael and Jenna both were going to have to make compromises to make this relationship work. Michael had been at loose ends for a while. Running the ranch wasn’t enough but he didn’t know what else to do. He as a leader in Windy Creek, always there for anyone who needed help. He thought maybe the senate seat was his next step. He really had no idea how complicated it would be. Jenna did and had stepped up and made the whole thing so much easier for him. Jenna swore when she escaped the small town she grew up in she’d never go back. She had seen the town through the lens of her family and maybe they had’t given much to the life they lead. Both were decent and sympathetic characters and Jackson put a whole new spin on the trope, plus gave us a small look at the inside of a campaign. Good book!

Rancher’s One-Night Stand is book five in the Windy Creek Romance Series. This is Jenna and Michael’s story. Jenna Griffin is a political campaign manager that lost her job in the big city so she decides to go to Windy Creek to visit with her college roommate Nancy. Windy Creek is a very small town and she swore she would never ever go back to a small town but, there is a potential job there with possibly the beginning to setting up her own private political campaign manager company and with the first prospect being the manager for local rancher and (hopeful) State Senator for Colorado Michael Townsend’s campaign. When Jenna got to town, went to the bar that her and Nancy were to meet up at, Nancy wasn’t able to get away to meet her, so Jenna ended up meeting and hooking up with Michael prior to finding out who he was and that he was the potential client for her. So then they find out! Jenna and Michael, decided to play things cool, and to not allow feelings to come into play and destroy and interfere with the campaign but then Jenna finds out she is pregnant. Now things are really a mess - Jenna refuses to live in a small town, it absolutely will not happen No.Matter.What. So now they not only had to keep their hands off each other, keep their hands and lips to themselves, they also had to keep their baby a huge secret otherwise they could end up destroying careers, on top of being the scandal of the election term. Will Michael and Jenna be able to keep things strictly platonic? Can they manage to fool everyone until after the election? Will Michael and Jenna be able to work things out for the baby’s sake? Can they become a family? So many decisions to be made. Someone or both are going to be heartbroken? This was an excellent story, I enjoyed reading, once I started I could not put it down until I finished the last word. The chemistry was fire engine hot off the charts and immediate, in the same breath the stubbornness on especially Jenna’s part was just as strong and hot, not giving an inch. I do recommend this read. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

Rancher’s One-Night Stand is book five in the Windy Creek Romance Series. This is a new to me series that I didn't know existed but I really liked the cover and synopsis so thought I would download it and give it a go.
I have been in a reading slump lately after my Mum has been very poorly after a stroke. And I have really struggled to get into books or anything that keeps my attention. But I have to say, I have really enjoyed this book. For a few hours I could get out of my own head and live in Jenna and Michael’s world. Jenna Griffin is an up and coming political campaign manager that looses her job after standing up for her believes and goes to visit her college friend Nano in Windy Creek to take her mind off things. After having a one night stand with the handsome Michael Townsend the last thing she expects is to be pregnant.
Michael himself has decided to run and enlists the help of Jenna as his campaign manager. She is hoping to start up her own practice and wants to use Michael as practice and a CV if she wins. But, both realise that there feelings for each other are more than just lust and with a baby on the way there are some choices to be made.
Windy Creek sounds like the place I want to live, where all neighbours pull together and help each other out. All the characters are fun, supportive and good fun. And a real joy to read about. This is just a really nice sweet romantic book with a slight politic edge. It's a book about great friendships and communities coming out together in support of each other.
Even though it is book 5, I didn't feel like I had missed anything by not reading the previous instalments. There are other couples mentioned in this book which I assume have their own stories in the other books which I will go on to read. But you don't have to have read them first. It definitely doesn't spoil the dynamic between these two characters.
All in all I really enjoyed it and couldn't wait to pick up my kindle for the next instalment. thank you Mary Sue Jackson for getting my back on track.

The chemistry between Michael and Jenna is hotter than a firecracker! At first, they seem to be total opposites and not at all right for each other. Jenna’s life and career are in the city and she finds country life claustrophobic and constrictive. Michael’s life is centred on his ranch and small town life. He is the last of his family and the ranch his legacy. He is handsome, wealthy and a well respected member of the community? Yes, he is running for senate, but he is doing so in order to get the needs and wants of ranchers and small towns heard. The passionate one night stand Jenna and Michael had is hard to forget, but as his campaign manager his chances for be elected and her career will be lost if they continue an affair. There are just a couple of wrinkles in their plan to be professional and circumspect. Their sizzling chemistry and Jenna’s pregnancy. Both deepen their connection and make keeping their hands off each other next to impossible. Of course politics is full of backbiting, scandal and fierce competition at any cost. Will their relationship survive the campaign? Can the city girl and country boy find a compromise? Do they even want to build a future together? Read this engaging book to discover the answers.

This was a quick and surprising good book only because politics is not my thing but the storyline was we’ll outlined. Michael Townsend works on the family’s ranch but wants more and wants to run for the state senate and with the backing of the Windy Creek townspeople agree because he is loved by all. While at the bar he meets a sexy as sin female that takes his mind off everything and they spend a wild and amazing night together. Jenna Griffin is a Campaign Manager and when her boss tells her she will not move up to higher profile campaigns she quits her job which is how she ends up in Windy Creek coming to see her old roommate by she stands her up but it’s not a total loss when she meets a sexy and hot cowboy Michael who she spend an amazing night together. Nancy calls and they meet up and she tells Jenna about a job helping with her friends campaign for running for the senate and has set up a meeting with him. When they meet each other they realize they must keep their relationship professional. Jenna finds out she is pregnant and tells Michael and the both need to come with a plan of how to move forward and what they both want and need. There is so much more to this book but don’t take my word for it, get it read it love it.

An interesting, intriguing and unique unusual storyline for a rancher. It is a great story that is difficult to put down and on the edge of the seat romantic setting. For this reader I was intrigued by the title as to me it romanticises and doesn’t meet the criteria of what a one night stand is. Yes I do agree, that it seems that the circumstances around the plot is that it’s possible to actually find love with the person who you have a one night stand with in a small country town. Not only is the one night stand of a couple which the rancher is the small town man who ends up falling for the out of Towner but it’s the young woman who ends up being his campaign manager. The book gives readers an insight of what actually happens behind the campaign scene. I love the fact that both plots merge together and gives a happy ending to which I am intrigued and interested to see if another book will outline on how they end up…..

Michael and Jenna in Rancher’s One-Night Stand (Windy Creek Romances #5) by Mary Sue Jackson are on a collision course of a campaign, conflict and love. I really enjoyed this love story. The characters were very relatable and while ambitious, not in an overzealous kind of way. Michael is all in throwing his hat into the Special Election Senate race and Jenna is his number one supporter despite some conflict.
These two have chemistry; working together on the campaign, as friends and also as lovers. The plot and conflict come into play for Jenna’s reluctance for anything small town related as well as her involvement with Michael. Both now and in the future, and they will definitely be tied to one another no matter what for the foreseeable future.
Overall, a little time, a big gesture declaration and compromise makes Jenna and Michael’s HEA not just possible or probable, but absolute.

Jenna came to Windy Creek to visit friend, Nancy but when she could not meet her, she ended by spending the evening with local Michael Townsend. Jenna went out the next day to visit Nancy at her and her husband's ranch where Jenna got a lead on a job. Unknowingly, it turned out to be campaign manager for Michael as State Senator in Colorado. They tried to play their one night together off as a one and done. Until, Jenna discovered she was pregnant. That put a whole new spin on everything. It was hard enough to keep their hands off each other, but if it got out about the baby, it would be the scandal of the election season. It would ruin both their careers. Michael had the ranch to think about too, but Jenna felt stifled in small towns. I greatly enjoyed this well written book describing the wonderful Colorado Rockies, the many beautiful ranches, including the ups and downs of Jenna and Michael's romance.

Jenna is shocked to see the handsome cowboy is her new client. They agree to keep their relationship professional. While it sounded good in theory that’s not how it goes at all. When Jenna sees the two pink lines everything changes. Michael is happy but she’s made it clear that she has no intentions of staying in town. With the election winding down the news of their relationship made into a scandal. Jenna ends her relationship with Michael and makes plans to leave town. Michael gives a speech about his campaign and his relationship with Jenna. What will happen after is anyones guess. You’ll just have to come to headquarters to learn the answers.

Keeping things professional is difficult because of their attraction and things heat up when she discovers she is pregnant.
Campaigning for politics is just one of the problems this couple face and her attitude is selfish and thoughtless at times as she blows hot and cold. She wants it all personally and professionally but only under certain conditions and that she can't always control.
(Surprise how a woman begs a man she does not know to take her to bed and then becomes pregnant without any thought of consequences. Whilst I enjoyed the book, this theme runs through a lot of stories so is predictable).

Michael lives in a small town and is always looking for a way to help his community. When a special election for state senator comes up, he runs because he thinks he can help more people. They share an amazing night together and go their separate ways. When her friend tells her of a possible job opportunity Jenna accepts a chance to meet with the candidate. However, when she meets him, it turns out to be the man she spent the night with. Will she be able to handle his campaign? Will something more happen between them?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book any book lover would enjoy.

I love a good secret baby romance and this one does not disappoint. When is a one-night stand not a good one night stand?
When it results in a secret baby that could interfere with the goal: get the cowboy elected. Jenna's plans don't involve more beyond getting the job done; Michael's plans don't involve more than scratching an itch and getting elected.
I loved the emotional journey that both Michael and Jenna enjoy individually and as a couple. Both find out what it means to truly love and that makes this book such a genuine joy to experience.
Sometimes life throws you a loop - and you just have to make sweet lemonade.
This book is a keeper and a great story. I loved it.

When Jenna’s friend Nancy suggests that she meet her friend who is running for state senator she finds herself face to face with who she thought was her one night stand. I was spellbound with the chemistry between Jenna and Michael. Windy Creek and all of its characters kept my attention from page to page.

Wonderful modern day rancher story. Michael own a large ranch outside town. The ranch is well known by many in and outside the state for excellent horses. He meets Jenna and they have a wonderful one night stand. Jenna is on her way to hopefully run the election of a candidate running for state senate. Oddly enough her client is Michael. Small town life is exciting for Michael but Jenna doesn’t like it. Complications arise challenging the couple and his candidacy. Fabulous characters throughout the story and not just the main characters. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms Jackson.

Rancher's One-Night Stand held my attention and brought me joy. I enjoy small-town romances with hot cowboys and Michael was definitely a sweetheart! Both main characters were likable and had sizzling chemistry. The storyline was entertaining and I enjoyed the small-town feel and the fact that he was running for state and Jenna was his political campaign manager. It had kind of the forbidden trope too which I always like. If you like small-town, cowboy romance with the surprise pregnancy trope, this is your next read!

Michael, although a rancher feels that he can do more, so he's standing as senator, Jenna met him before she became his campaign manager, but they had a one night stand which resulted in a complication. They decided they were going to be professional, difficult when they just want to rip the clothes off each other!
