The first time I speak to the neighbor’s lawn boy he asks me if I need landscaping. By the gleam in his piercing blue eyes, he isn’t talking about my lawn.
In an uncharacteristically bold move, I invite the guy I barely know to my place. After his initial “assessment” of my needs, our evening doesn’t stop there.
In Deacon, Texas, go big or go home, right?
The weeks that follow, Nash Denton makes sure he is the only one to handle my daily maintenance. He fills a missing gap in my life—bringing laughter, good times, and genuine care.
When sickness knocks me down, Nash is there. Turns out this illness isn’t the contagious kind. Nope, this lawn boy sure knows how to make things grow.
One question remains—will he stick around and nurture my lawn or will he soon be tending someone else's landscape?
Nash & Coco are such a cute couple and really go for the whole Texas saying of Go Big or Go Home! I loved the banter between them from the start. Like any couple they had their ups and downs but learned to communicate with each other to get through the hurdles tossed their way.
Coco and Nash brought so much to this tale. Heat, navigating a new relationship, unexpected surprises, and oh so realistic dumb moves on both sides! Okay, so the big dumb move was one-sided, but I had to laugh and cringe at it. Because the person doing the big, huge, should’ve talked it over first, thing truly meant well. But would intentions be enough to compensate for the sting of only one person being party to the decision?
I liked how these two, as most of this author’s characters, were utterly real. They made mistakes. They had some not so attractive moments. They fought. They made up. They took time making up once or twice. And they made every person who has ever had the hormones that come with huge changes feel seen. Even better? They balanced each other out. Coco was afraid to make a decision and thought that the “no planning yet” method would carry her through. Nash knew that sometimes, you have to plot and plan and make it happen. And while they definitely butted heads a few times, they managed to find a compromise or victory without the bitter taste of defeat for the one outsmarted or out-reasoned. These two were an unlikely duo at first, but they won me over soon enough. So get ready to be won over also. And maybe crave a few snacks along the way.
This was just what I needed! It was sweet, juicy, and left me with a good feeling. Coco and Nash seemed like an easy fling but I was wrong it was so much more!
This is the perfect beach day read. It includes several very humorous scenes. The relationship starts on a chance meeting when Nash meets Coco in front of the house she nannies at. She has a great relationship with the three kids she cares for and also with their parents. She has been with them for like five years and is very content.
Coco seems like a genuine level headed twenty something. This is rare nowadays. Especially that she has a degree and can be a teacher but chooses the nanny position because it fits her personality. I love that!
What can a happy lawn boy and smart nanny do long term ? Find out
Super sweet story of girl meets lawn boy. Coco and Nash have a whirlwind, fast paced romance with a few surprises along the way. Nash is the most supportive guy letting Coco take her "one day at a time" even though he's been "all in" and looking towards the future from the beginning. I enjoyed the chemistry these two had and how they handled all the big and little events in their relationship. It was real, relatable, and comical at times.
Nash and Coco was exactly what I needed. They had their ups and downs but the story is real. While I laughed because from the beginning I couldn't get enough of the innuendos (reminds me of me), they are also sweet and the chemistry is intense.
Nash and Coco were a cute couple! Their initial conversations were full of innuendos...oh my! They had great banter and chemistry. Apparently Nash was a very good lawn boy because he could grow things in and out of the bedroom (wink, wink). That amped things up a little faster than either one expected, but they made it work. They had their relationship growing pains, but they learned how to communicate with each other. That big house surprise was a doozy! Nash and Coco were easy to fall in love with. Their personalities were realistic and relatable.
I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
#CinnamonRollHero #Novella #SurprisePregnancy Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this can be read as a standalone and ends with a HEA. It is set in the All-American Boys world in Texas. Nash and Coco (both around 27) are both adulting well. Nash has a lawn and landscaping business while Coco works as a nanny for three children. They have an adorable meet-cute with fun banter and some innuendo. Because of the novella length of the story, their relationship moves at warp speed. The author manages this successfully with the surprise pr4gnancy trope. Honestly, I love this trope for that reason. Through a series of time jumps the reader gets to see their relationship change and grow over about two years’ time. I liked both characters. Nash is wonderful. He works hard to take care of Coco. He is what every woman wants, really. Coco is levelheaded but the pregnancy throws her for a loop. Their biggest conflict comes from her need to take things one day at a time while he needs the stability of a planned future. They figure it out. This was a fun easy read that I really enjoyed. I am looking forward to meeting this author in Seattle and reading more of her longer books.
The Lawn Boy was a story that made me smile all the way through so it was a great palate cleanser for all the dark books I read. Nash is the lawn boy who Coco decides to hook up with, and frankly, their interactions kept me laughing especially the first time. However, they ended up with a big surprise that made sure they had to really get to know each other, and mistakes were made, but nothing too big to overcome however, it wasn't all smooth sailing. I loved how they were relatable during this getting to know you time period as people make mistakes, especially when they don't really know the other person & they're complete opposites. I loved how they developed as they went along despite all the big things in their lives after a hot hookup. I know it seems a bit vague, but I don't want to give things away, so honestly, your best bet is to actually experience all this delightful goodness for yourselves as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Being new to Ms.Delong's work i've been looking forward to picking up her books! As soon as i found out about this All American Boy story i knew i had to read it first! I picked it up as soon as i could and got into it. I so enjoyed this story!
Coco and Nash's journey captured my attention quickly! Right from their first memorable meeting, i couldn't wait to see how things would play out with these two.
I didn't know what all to expect going into this story and i liked how that got me into it even more. I was so glad that i got to jump into both of their minds. I loved how both Nash and Coco had me feeling many things throughout! They had great chemistry!
I enjoyed how this story had entertaining moments as well as realistic ones!
With The Lawn Boy, Ms.Delong has created such a good read! I am so looking forward to picking up more of her work!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Give Me Books Promotions / the author*
Nash and Coco’s story was cute, sexy, witty, and fun. Nash is a landscaper who cuts the lawn across from Coco's boss. When he asks Coco about her landscaping needs there's an exchange of some witty banter on both their ends.
Coco is a nanny but more like an extended family member to her clients. She's sweet, sassy, and knows what she wants.
As Coco and Nash quickly start enjoying each other's company they run into an unexpected surprise. The two did butt heads from time to time and have some differences of opinions but nothing they couldn't resolve.
I feel like Coco and Nash were relatable and complimented each other nicely once they found their footing.
I absolutely enjoyed getting to know the lawn boy.
I love how Coco approaches Nash about doing some landscaping . Nash is so adorable and he is perfect for Coco. Their relationship seemed to grow stronger and quicker then they thought. Nash takes care of Coco when she became sick and it turned out she was pregnant and she had to tell Nash that she is pregnant and Nash seemed calm. She ends up moving into his Condo because it is bigger then her apartment. So they become a family of 3 when their daughter was born. Then one day Nash drops a bomb shell on Coco when he tells her he bought a house without talking to her first. They have their up's and down's but, they managed to get through come them. They are great together!! I truly loved this book and recommend it!!
This is Nash and Coco’s story. Nash is Coco’s neighbours’ lawn boy whom she approaches about some landscaping. The relationship between them grew stronger quicker than expected, and although they did butt heads they soon made up. The characters are relatable and realistic, and they compliment each other perfectly. This is a well written story which has humor, witty banter, communication, unexpected surprises, and love, which leads to a sweet and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Enticing Journey Book Promotions and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was such a funny and adorable read!!! I mean Coco and Nash also had some issues arise as well. But don't all love stories. But let me tell you their meet was so funny. I couldn't believe Coco was so brash with her words. And Nash gave right back to her. I loved it!! And he just rolled with everything except when he thought he could catch a bug..that was funny. And she was almost neurotic in her ways. They definitely balanced each other out. And I lived getting the extra epiloge!! I would definitely recommend this book!!
Ok, that beginning had me laughing out loud and snuggled in for the long haul! The instant spark, chemistry and explosion between Coco and Nash was oh.so.hot! Then when we got to actually get to know how quirky and fun Coco was and how sweet and sincere Nash was I was completely head over heels for both of them! That didn’t mean that their story was an easy breezy read because this one was definitely a roller coaster but I enjoyed every dip and turn along the way as they navigated a new relationship and all the other chaos life threw their way.
The Lawn Boy is a cute-sweet romance. Nash approaches Coco outside the where she is a nanny hoping to gain another client for his landscape business. Coco's whitty responses had me is stitches. I would never say such things which made them even funnier.
The just clicked. But sometimes that click comes with consequences. Kudos to the author for making sure he manned up and stood by Coco. Get ready for lots of drama as they navigate the road to a permanent relationship and parenthood. It isn't always smooth. Hormones can get in the way. Lesson learned.
This series continues to bring some pretty great stories for everyone to enjoy. Coco and Nash are drawn to one another and their connection makes them so much fun. The heat between these two will make you need a fan and then the next minute the banter has you smiling and shaking your head. Grab this story to see what happens and if they get their happily ever after.
I thought The Lawn Boy was good it did take me some time to connect to the characters at times and the story took a minute to really get into it. I thought the characters were a bit different then I was expecting but over all I enjoyed it when I reached then end of the book . I can't wait to read more by Taylor Delong in the future .
Novella but seems longer!! Hotter than previous books I’ve read by author but also a lighter vibe to the characters. Cocoa has some annoying typical girl over-thinking moments but otherwise she and Nash are great. I especially love how excited and supportive Nash ends up being with the surprise turn of events.
This story was like none other written by Taylor Delong. It was full of witty innuendos and o laughed out loud several times. Nash is a dream and makes me want my own lawn boy (wink, wink)! Coco and his story is one of my favorite troupes and you will love their story. I highly recommend this book!
This is a cute rom-com vibe book. I loved it and I wish it was a bit longer. It’s a whirlwind romance between Nash and Coco and I want to know more about them. I guess the extended epilogue will have to hold me over for now. Heh
This story was cute, sexy, and fun, all rolled into a little sweet package full of cinnamon rolls. Nash is freaking adorable, and Coco is perfect for him. Their banter was sexy and delightful. And I laughed out loud at several parts! Well done!
Overall I enjoyed the book. I especially liked Nash. He’s a good guy type of hero. There’s low angst. Parts of it felt a little forced, but it was probably because it’s a novella.
I really enjoyed this book and the story. I felt that this couple were so relatable as a couple and as individuals. I liked how they had so many challenges but stuck together.
A good story that wasn't anything like I was expecting. They had their ups and downs but the banter between them was brilliant. The story overall was a fun, easy, enjoyable read.
Enjoyed this book immensely. Coco got on my last nerve a few times, but the banter and how real the characters felt made up for it. The chemistry between these two jumped off the pages.
