"This book helps us to interpret current events in the light of biblical prophecy, reminding us that whether the return of Christ is near or far, the stage is being set for His arrival. Are we ready?" —Erwin W. Lutzer, bestselling author In Matthew 24, after Jesus gave His disciples a profound, detailed description of what will happen prior to His second coming, He urged them to “keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come” (verse 42). So as we seek to follow His commands today, what are we to watch for?

A book that very single person should read. It covers so many topics that are extremely important for all people to learn and know. Especially in light of the rapidly approaching end times and thus the approaching Rapture. Get the book and learn the approaching signs.
This is a very good book and entirely true and scriptural. I would have given it 5-stars, but it sort of bogged down a bit when he began talking about the spread of technology and surveillance and the global economy, and a bit here and there. While there were definitely things of interest there, it felt like some things dragged on just a bit too much. But, for the most part, this is an interesting and informative book. The fact that it was written in 2022 - you could already see some of the things leading up to what has been happening in the past two-years. Prophecy is being fulfilled in our day and we can watch the progression. The author gave some very interesting statistics, as well as explaining so many of the signs and their foreshadowing. It's beautiful to watch God at work, and the author pointed out many of God's workings. This book is full of information for those who know little of prophecy and will be an eye-opener for them. For those of us who have been studying prophecy for a number of years, this book still has some interesting information and offers encouragement to keep on keeping on for our Lord. It's a good and godly book, and well-worth a read.
I think one has to start a discussion of this work with comment on the title. First, the imminent return of Christ being an established Christian doctrine going back to the early church, we are every day, every week, closer to His coming. For more on the imminent return of Christ, see… https://www.gotquestions.org/imminent...
Secondly, in every generation, particularly those that have suffered massive multinational upheaval (such as the tribal overrun of the western Roman empire, the Islamic conquests, and World War II), God’s people have been alert to seeking the glorious return of the LORD. And so it is in our days, as we experience chaos increasing in our world, Christians naturally turn to studying, anticipating, and longing for Jesus’ return.
Both these principles exist – and have existed – apart from Mr. Miller’s discussion of MegaClues of our time.
However, there is a brilliant signal of the approach of the end of the age in the prophecies regarding the return of Jews to the land of Israel, which culminated in the proclamation of the nation in 1948. This superlative prophetic fulfillment is so foundational that Miller doesn’t even include it among the 12 Foreshadows/ MegaClues. Rather, he separates it out in Part 1, which is titled Israel’s Rebirth: The Ultimate Sign of the End Times.
The preliminaries out of the way, I can explain why Steve Miller’s Foreshadows: 12 MegaClues is my number one recommendation for End Times (eschatology) study.
While many Bible teachers pour through events of the day to make fantastic predictions, Miller has chosen instead to research the past – which guards one from making futuristic faux pas that quickly date a book, as well as aligns us with the Biblical principles of diligently searching the Scriptures to understand the signs and times.
The MegaClues, which are termed Foreshadows, make up Part 2: Foreshadows from the Future: 12 Megaclues that point to the End Times. Within each section, Miller examines both the predictive prophecies, and the emerging groundwork for their fulfillment. Rather than state God will fulfill His word through Jesus returning in year ##??, Miller searches the Scriptures to note what God has said about how time will end and what events the sovereign God of Israel is orchestrating to lead us toward fulfillment.
Foreshadow 1: The Rise of Globalism Foreshadow 2: The Trends Toward a One-World Government Foreshadow 3: The Sruggle to Build a United European Empire Foreshadow 4: The Spread of All-Invasive Technology Foreshadow 5: The Progression to a One-World Economy Foreshadow 6: The Descent into Moral and Spiritual Corruption Foreshadow 7: The Proliferation of Deception Foreshadow 8: The Assault on Truth Foreshadow 9: The Increase of Christian Persecution Foreshadow 10: The Explosion of Hostilities Toward Israel and the Jewish People Foreshadow 11: The Preparations for a New Temple in Jerusalem Foreshadow 12: the Forming of a Coalition to Destroy Israel
I found this to be a good list, although Miller doesn’t include the Apostacy of the Church. For that, I found: The Great Last Days Apostacy: How the American Church is Falling Away, J.B. Hixson, 2025 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
After reading Steve Miller’s MegaClues, 2 Peter 2 comes to mind. Can you see the MegaClues? What does God say He will do? What can we learn from what God has done in the past? What does God ask of believers? How can believers be encouraged by the hope of His return?
"3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue just as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, 6 through which the world at that time was destroyed by being flooded with water. 7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly people.
8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. 9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered. 11 Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! 13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace, 15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, 16 as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which there are some things that are hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment, 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” 2 Peter 3 NASB
“Foreshadows: 12 Megaclues That Jesus’ Return Is Nearer Than Ever” by Steve Miller has been called the most important prophecy book of the year, and I can certainly see why. Published by Harvest Prophecy (an imprint of Harvest House Publishers) this book contains such an immense amount of information, and is an incredible resource for so many reasons. Let’s take a look at just a few…
“Foreshadows” brings to light events that are extremely current and relevant to our daily lives. From the rise of technology and surveillance to the indisputable assault on truth, we cannot deny that major changes are taking place around us - but what does it all mean? This book dives deep into answering that question with research-based evidence and wisdom.
Steve Miller also brings God’s Word into the equation by applying what the Bible says about the last days, and how things will play out according to the prophetical timeline laid out in Scripture. With skill and easy-to-understand language, this author helps us understand that prophecy is so very relevant, and coming to life before our eyes - if we will only connect the dots.
One more reason I enjoyed “Foreshadows” so much is that it helps us have hope… You might think it odd that hope plays a role in a book about the end times - but truly, the more I’ve studied the topic, the more I realize that nothing provides more true, lasting hope than gaining a deep understanding of what God’s plans are for us, as His children, after we leave this earth behind and are taken up to be with Him forever. As Steve Miller reminds us, “That’s a key reason God has revealed the future to us in advance - so that we would live in hope and not despair.”
I highly recommend this book to, well, everyone living along with me in this day and age. For the reasons mentioned above, and so many more, “Foreshadows” is a book that will change your outlook on the world, on life, and on our role in the future of God’s Kingdom… and what could be more exciting and hope-filled than that?!
I received a copy of this book courtesy of Harvest House Publishers. I extend my thanks for the opportunity to review this title, and wish to note that all thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.
Insightful read into last days prophecy with Israel being the centre piece on the chessboard and who the other chess players are. A great read for those who are interested in learning about biblical prophecy for the end times.
A well-written book about Bible prophecy, world history and current events. This book is educational, increases reverence for God and brings hope in the current times we are living in
