The vault lies deep beneath the palace.

Alric, the Elran dancer, opens the immense stone door, guiding Heath and Caio into the vast chamber.

“The ancient inhabitants of this desert imbued items with a great number of dark enchantments. Some of which were distinctly…sexual.”

Caio’s pale cheeks flush deep pink as he realizes what kind of objects are locked away here.

The young dancer runs his fingertips over an ominous, silver-trimmed black box, its obsidian surface glittering temptingly in the torchlight.

“They say it houses a spirit. A creature that can provide endless pleasure.” Alric lowers his voice. “But only a powerful mage can open it…someone like you.”

“It wasn’t all bad.”
“No, Elrus is just a work in progress. You’ve been thinking about yesterday, haven’t you?”

Heath has an incredible dream. He’s reliving a scene from his youth—back when Caio confronted him after Heath’s father’s death. And Heath is reminded why he became a knight in the first place.

From the palace to the gardens, amazing descriptions. Beautifully atmospheric writing.

But it’s not Soren who awaits the couple in the garden—it’s Alric (the straight dude from Servitude). Alric also originally hails from Elrus.

And Soren, via Alric, has an offer for our boys.

Heath remains a great choice for a narrative MC. He’s so upfront and honest about his attractions—and his weaknesses.

Alric and Soren try to tempt the guys with what they each, as individuals, yearn for.

The magical accessories for Heath…Caio recognizes their power…and Heath’s military training comes in handy…

Janus’s gift…surprising that it’s used so early on…and who uses it…

Fun and wild. As usual, an excellent Afterword from Kai.

“I-I want to be like him. I don’t want other people to have to feel this way. I want to keep you safe.”

Still in Sa'arre, Heath and Caio are erotically tested by Soren's dancer, Alric who introduces them to magical artifacts and then leaves them to discover their own way out of danger. Narrator Heath (heroic soldier and protective lover) is comically unable to rescue Caio, as he is entangled in his own pleasure and only able to watch passively. Caio, at first dominated, comes out top with the dangerously playful unleashed spirit, then saves Heath from his own edging torture.

Role reversal and fun, with a plug for Albolene in the Authors Note. Hadn't encountered the term 'gooning' before, so I learned something too.
