Some titles are inherited, others must be earned…

The circumstances of Mr Fitzallan Wilde’s birth are less than acceptable, but fortune has blessed him in a number of ways. Possessed of a gift for numbers and a handsome smile that attracts a lot of female attention, Fitz has found his niche in the household of his friend and sponsor, Lady Agnes Barlow. It might not be the top tier of the Ton, but he’s content with matters as they are.
However, he has guarded his heart, knowing his history will prevent him from any kind of acceptable marriage. What he cannot know is that this Season will take him down a new path, one where he’ll have to play the role of Good Samaritan to an innocent victim—and end up with a lot more than he ever expected.
It might be time for him to learn that being a Ballinger Bastard and a rascal is a good thing after all...

I'm really rather boring... Honestly. I live a pretty hum-drum life as a wife and mother. I shop at the local supermarket and use coupons now and again. See? Boring stuff.

I live in Virginia now, so I am learning all kinds of new things - such as being able to buy beer and wine along with bread and toothpaste. Wow!

Having been born and raised in England, I do possess a well-developed feel for the English countryside. Comes in handy for those Regency tales.
Even though I was transplanted over to the US side of the Atlantic, I still have ties to all things Brit. I bake sausage rolls and make Christmas pudding. You can take the girl out of England, but not England out of the girl, I guess.

I'm not sure anyone can write really well unless they read. A lot. I read anything and everything these days. And mostly on my couch with a book on my knees. Yes, the technology is out there for electronic versions, but there's not much to compare with a shiny new hardcover from a favorite author.

Due to the great writing, characters, and one particularly hilarious (to me) sex scene, I give this book 3.5 stars. It could have rated 5 stars if not for the following:

* The vague to NO physical descriptions of the characters. The heroine Lavinia was pretty, had cornflower-blue eyes and light hair (except for one time when it was mentioned that she had dark eyes). The hero Fitz was handsome and tall, with curly dark hair and dark brown eyes. Thank God we have the painting of an Unknown Man in a Yellow Coat to give us some idea of Fitz's apperance. As for everyone else in the book? Nothing. The whole time I was reading 'The Rascal' I had images in my head of those wooden artists' mannikins in a variety of poses.
* The rushed ending. Especially as I had hoped that Fitz would have punched another guy in the nose.

The Rascal was an easy read,
The very Charismatic Fitz ,the Rascal.
Endears himself to the reader quickly, with his crinkle eyed smiles, dark enigmatic eyes, and roving ways.
Born a Bastard, studied at the famous Ballinger University for Bastards,he finds a patron in Lady Agnes ,when he rescues her from a thorny situation, and she rescues him back.
She brings him home and shelters him like her own son.
On the other hand the Heroine of the story Lavinia Sedgwick, whose Father is a die hard gambler ,who has gambled away the family fortune, and now Mother and Father, are set on selling their beautiful daughter to the highest bidder.
On her way to a hedonistic Masquerade Ball,Poor Lavinia unknown to her ,is sold to the veriest
Lech and debaucer ,who on the pretense to have fresh air in the garden.
Attempts to rape her.
She is rescued by the heroic Fitz.
And they seemed bound to one another and their misfortunes by the hand of fate.

Despite feeling devastated and ruined in the eyes of the Ton, Lavinia tries to shake off her misfortune,as Fitz spirits her away.

And as things turn for the better,a ride to the Country to getaway from it all, turns the tide in her favour.
She learns she has her family living in the quite town of Crinklewood.
Where her long lost Grandmama lives, and recognizes her by an old heirloom pendant.
The story has a knight in shining armor who turns into the proverbial villian, and after twists and turns.

Our sweet heroine wins the heart of her rescuer.

The sweet heritage romance novel, written by Sahara Kelly, had me quite shocked by risque and overt sexual language that suddenly and shockingly came into what otherwise would be a sweet Babara Cartland type novel.
So just something readers who may initially consider a sweet tender romance ,may or may not be delighted to read the explicit sexual tones of the book.
However the story is sweet , romantic and touching tale of two sympathetic hearts, who find true love ,in the midst of heartache and dispair.

There is a school Ballinger Priory, a special school for children born on the wrong side of the sheets. They are educated, fed and cared for but when they grow and enter society they can never escape the stigma assigned to them through no fault of their own. One such young man a rascal no doubt is Fitzallan Wilde. His intelligence and financial prowess have served him well. He even has the affection and support of a matron of the upper class Lady Agnes Barlow. What he doesn’t have is a pedigree and as such he feels unworthy of love. Which becomes a problem when he dashes to the rescue of one Lavinia Sedgewick. Her parents are in dire financial straights and are bent on selling off er marrying off their daughter to the highest bidder. Fortune or fate has other plans and Fitz’s rescue, a carriage ride, a storm and a surprising family reunion have seem to set things right for the young lady. Yet Fitz cannot settle and does not understand why.
A story of love in Regency England. Full of ups and downs, the injustices of the fate of women in that era and a man with no past who longs for nothing more than a home and family the very things he thinks he can never have. An endearing story with colorful and lively characters you cannot help but be charmed by. Sweet with just the right amount of heat and a hea that warms the heart. A definite must read!

Fitz Wilde is one of the Ballinger bastards raised as gentleman and gentle women protected at the priory and taught a trade utilizing their skills to go further in life than their birth would normally dictate.
Because of Fitz connections he went to a ball and rescued and encountered Lavina Aka Lavvy Sedgewick!
She has the most wicked mother ever. Fitz rescued her and took her home to his benefactor who was more of a godmother!
Fitz sexual appetites are widely discussed and portrayed in this story.
He is young and handsome and makes wise investments and didn’t take much to his future until meeting Lavvy!
The men who planned to rape Lavvy spread a vicious rumor about their encounter just as she connects to her maternal grandma and hoped to make a match.
These two are very compatible but Fitz can’t shake his parentage or his sexual appetite!
For him to realize he couldn’t stop thinking about Lavvy or she him he made no efforts to be celibate for more than a few days at best!
I’m still not sure if his love was true! Lavvy was because he rescued her from a horrible fate! There is also an abrupt end to his previous relationship and his new found love with Lavvy! I do like this author so I will read on …,

Framed in the strict and suffocating Regency era, I find this new series interesting with protagonists who live with the stigma of not knowing who their parents are, but, nevertheless, they have been educated to face different challenges from the world around them and succeed. In this book, a maiden in distress and a knight wearing the shining armor not on the outside but in his hearts, face their fears and find much more than they ever dreamed of possessing. I liked the character of Lavinia and the strength that she was developing to deal with her situation. Fitzallan was aware of how others looked at him, but this does not limit him to do what he must do which shows the strength that he had. Fitz kept me interested by the way he thought and handled situations that concerned him. Interesting and entertaining descriptions and narrations, strong emotions, mystery, violence, more than one villain, romance, and passion. I like the way the author keeps my attention with suspense, antagonistic situations, and strong content. I voluntarily reviewed this copy that I received for free from eBook Discovery and I liked it.

The romance between the main characters in this novel is sweet and tender, as a result of Fitzallen rushing in to save Lady Lavinia from one of the worst ordeals a woman could go through. Despite his background, Fitz has proved himself over and over, and yet his own insecurities regarding his birth hamper his progress in society. It is only through Lady Agnes that he has any standing at all. Nevertheless, in spite of Lady Agnes' quick thinking, Lavinia discovers that there are those who thrive on gossip, whether or not it is the truth, which is beside the point. When threatened once again, Lavinia has grown enough to be able to stand up for herself, bringing the novel to a delightful conclusion. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. This was an entertaining read. I did like the main characters of Lavinia and Fitz. What despicable parents, Lavinia, had! It was a surprise that Lavinia was so loving and caring herself, given their example. Fitz, too, was subject to derision due to the circumstances of his birth, although having money helped him. I did enjoy the growing realisation of how Lavinia and Fitz really felt about each other. There are a few surprises in the story and I would like to read more in this series. I received a copy from eBooks Discovery and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book is quite interesting and entertaining, I really enjoyed it. The story of Fitz (a bastard raised in Ballinger Priory - a school for raising bastards) and Lavinia ( a young lady who had the misfortune of being raised by gambling and uncaring parents, who later disowned her when their plan to sell her off was aborted. Their love story and how they were able to overcome their problem and have their hea. "I received this book from eBook discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review".

Lovely Regency

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the start of a series about well raids and educated bartered of the ton. It was only in my mothers time that illegitimate children were still named that on their birth certificates and tainted through life here in many states. Using this premise to show people overcoming stigma and coming into their own is wise and entertaining.

Lovely

Once again, Ms. Kelly tells a tale with exceptional skill. Her characters are wonderfully flawed, brilliantly courageous, and humanly divine. Her approach to the subject matter was empathic, honest, and cleverly done. One could not help but love these brilliant characters. Well done, Ms. Kelly, well done.

Another amazing story

This is another amazing story, that is full of many steamy moments which will keep you engaged all the way through. All the characters are brilliantly crafted, and have to come to terms with their misconceptions as to their worth.

This story addresses the lower section of the ton. Those that skate just below Polite Society. The ones who are blamed for their parents sins. Such is the fate of Fitswallan and Lavania. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, as these two find their way towards each other.
