💞 CRANK
Crank is the first book in the Gibson Boys series. If you read Adriana’s Landry’s series then you have already met Miss Sienna Landry. I love that Adriana has crossed her over to a new series! She loves her family but she doesn’t fit the mold like her other siblings. She enjoys her freedom outside of politics, social events, and the family businesses. She is not a wild child but she wants something different for herself. And that is what brought her to Linton, Illinois a year ago. To run a designing business with her best friend Delaney. She didn’t know how much the move would change her life...
It all started with an accident that brought out the Gibson Boys. They were strangers to Sienna and Delaney but something was different when Sienna locked eyes with the owner of the truck she just hit. He was not the type of man that she would have dated back in Savannah. But even with his scowl and cranky-ass attitude he made her feel hot all over. Nervous even. Something she never was even in the rooms of politicians and celebrities. After everything is said and done the next morning she realizes she has to see him again in a few days. At his auto repair shop. She can’t stop thinking about him and after seeing him again she still can’t read this man. This sexy as sin man who smells like grease and heartbreak. She was going to just walk away but something was telling her that he was different. That if she walked away that she would regret it.
Walker knew he shouldn’t have listened to his dumbass cousin Peck. Now, he has to see Sienna more than he should. He was already thinking about her too much. He tired to push her away but for some reason she pushed back. He knew she was a woman who always got exactly what she wanted but he couldn’t let her get him. Yes. He wanted her laid out on his desk and all over his shop but he couldn’t go there. She wasn’t even sure if she was staying in Illinois. He knew if he had one taste of the woman who brought chaos to his brain, muffins to his shop, and smiles to customers then he wouldn’t want to let her go. Can Walker keep his distance from Sienna or will he give into what everyone around them sees? A woman who makes him happy.
I loved, loved, loved this story! I have been waiting patiently for Sienna’s story and the wait was so fucking worth it. I love the Landry’s so hard and knowing her throughout those books was fun but this...is perfect for her. The Gibsons reminded me of her brothers with their banter but they are edgier and less refined. No suits for these boys. But picturing Walker in his black shirts and work boots is sexy but add in the grease and callous hands...beyond hot! I felt like I was right there in Crank with Walker, Sienna, and Peck. Walking around teasing them and working under the hood of a truck.
The characters, all of them make up one amazing start to a new series. Walker and Sienna’s relationship is fun, sexy, frustrating, and beautiful. I loved that they are an unlikely match. A match that probably wouldn’t have happened if she didn’t take that swing. Walker’s brothers, cousins, and Nana are hilarious, sweet, and will do anything for each other. I am excited about their stories. I totally have crushes on them especially Peck.
P.S. While I am writing this review my husband is working on a car in the garage. Yes...he is a mechanic in his spare time. So I know all about the smell of grease and hot mechanic jumpsuits.
Quotes:
“Donaldson is in. Where’s his invoice?”
“Fuck if I know,” I grumble. “Sienna filed all that shit.”
“Where?”
“All I know is the folders were all sparkly. There’s still glitter on the floor back there. I’d just follow the glitter trail, Peck.”
“I’d like to follow that glitter trail,” he smirks.
“You like baseball and history?” Lance asks. “Fuck Walker. Wanna blow this joint and go home with me?”
“Close your eyes, Gibson. I’d hate for you to see what you’ve been missing.”
💞 CRAFT
Craft is the second book in the Gibson Boys series. There is actually a novella in the Team Player Anthology and that is Cross’s story. He is an honorary Gibson Boy! Ok. Back to the Gibson Boys that I have grown to love. Crank was Walker’s story and now it’s time for his brother, Lance to get the girl. If she will let him.
Lance has been a frustrating pain in the ass to Mariah for the last few years. Using her office as a phone booth. Stealing her cupcakes. Making her blush. Making her go home every night all hot and bothered. You can cut the sexual tension with a knife. He loves to tease her. She won’t admit it but she loves it. They both get off on it. Usually at night when they need to take the edge off. Yes, it would be simple to just get on with it and have sex but Mariah won’t go there. She isn’t a one night stand type of girl. She is the forever kind.
Mariah is Lance’s wet dream. She is a sexy librarian but doesn’t know it. She makes the most delicious cupcakes and knows she would taste just as sweet. He has wanted her since the day he saw her but she is smart. She knows he isn’t good for her. He isn’t an asshole but he couldn’t give her what she wanted. A husband with two point five kids, and a house with a wrap-around porch. He could only give her one night. Lance was ok with their flirty banter until he wasn’t. He wanted to know more about her. He was so fucked...
Lance and Mariah’s relationship is well...complicated. They know what they can give and what they can’t. They both feel the heat between them but can they go there? If she goes there, will he stop coming by for cupcakes? If he goes there, will she hate him afterwards? Is the risk worth the reward? If they do go there, will it be more? Can Lance change his stripes?
I absolutely loved, loved, loved this book! Lance is one swoon-worthy, filthy talking History teacher. Those glasses! Yum. Mariah is a beautiful woman who deserves to know that she is enough. She is stronger than she thinks. She is totally someone I would be friends with. Together, their banter is flirty, fun, and filthy. Their connection is beautiful and sexy. Their story is full of emotions, laughs, sexiness, and beauty.
Overall...it’s one swoon-worthy book that you do not want to miss! I was addicted from beginning to end. I loved the characters. The story. The romance. The fun. The heat. The banter. Everything. It was also fun to get to know the Gibson Boys even more! And Nana. She is a badass with heart.
Quotes:
“You deserve a great life. One filled with laughs and love and orgasms,” she winks.
“There are more than one of you?” she asks, her hand flying to her chest. “Your poor mother.”
“Oh, no, sweetheart. There’s only one of me.”
Her eyes roll around her head. “I’m sorry. I forgot who I was talking to.”
“How’d you get so wise?”
He takes his hat off and wipes his brow with the sleeve of his shirt. “Baby, I was born this way.”
💞 CROSS
Cross is a Gibson Boys novella that takes place before Crank (book 1) by the very talented, Adriana Locke. I have read every single word she has written and have loved them all. Even when I wanted to smack someone for being an ass. Ok...back to Cross. If you read Crank then you might remember Cross as Machlan Gibson’s best friend.
Kallie is home. It’s been three years since she has stepped foot in her hometown on Linton. She has spent her last three years working in Indy and trying to forget about Cross Jacobs. Her first kiss. Her first love. Her first everything. Moving away didn’t work and it definitely won’t now since she was back. And especially after seeing him again. He is all grown up and looking better than ever.
He can’t believe his Kallie girl is back. He has changed since she left him. And now he wanted to prove it. He won’t let her go without a fight this time. He knows it won’t be easy. He also knows her and that it’s worth it.
Awe! I loved it. It’s a fast read but it packs in a lot of heart, sexiness, and sweetness.
Quotes:
“The bell rang on this fight a long time ago, Cross.”
“Maybe the scorekeeper was wrong.”
“All I want is a hole in one.” Spinning around, I catch the grin on his lips.
“That’s a terrible line.”
“Can’t win ’em all.” He laughs.
“First of all, whatever that jackass has told you, ignore it—all of it,” Peck says.
Walker shrugs. “He asked.”
And, I have to add this one in since it’s something my mom would say.
“He’s all right,” I say, shaking my head.
“All right? Sometimes I’m not sure you’re my child.” She chuckles. “If I were your age, I’d have snapped up one of those men in a heartbeat.”
💞 CRAVE
Crave is the third full-length novel in one of my favorite series’, The Gibson Boys By Adriana Locke. You can read it as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the previous books. It will make you love this book even more! The Gibson Boys and the women they love are something else. And the ones who haven’t found love yet are just as fun, sexy, and strong. I can’t wait for their stories! Ok...back to Crave!
Machlan and Hadley have been off and on for years. Eighteen months ago, Hadley left Linton and Machlan behind. It was something she had to do. To move forward without him. Now, she was back. Only to finally get over him. Every time she had come back to visit, she hoped he would fight for her but this time she was determined to get over him. To look at him like she looked at Peck. As a friend and nothing more. Only, when she sees him, she wants nothing more than for him to love her like she loves him. She is so fucked. But she won’t let him know that.
Hadley drives Machlan insane. She walks into a room and he only sees her. She makes him think of things he wants to forget. His failures. His losses. His feelings toward the only woman he has ever loved. And most likely will ever love. It’s why he let her go. He doesn’t feel worthy of her love. She deserves more than him. He doesn’t know why she doesn’t see that. Why she loves him. He will never be over her but he has to let her go. Again. But can he this time?
Awe! I loved this story. Second chance romance is one of my faves and this one totally kicks ass. Machlan and Hadley’s banter is full of sass, stubbornness, flirt, and emotions. They have obstacles to conquer. A past to come to terms with. A never-ending intense passion to work with. I liked Machlan in the previous books. He is a great guy and a supportive brother, cousin, grandson and friend but I fell for him hard in this book. The way he looks at Hadley is intense and swoon-worthy. And the way she looks at him is just as intense. She doesn't know if she wants to slap him or fuck him.
Overall...it's a story that made me laugh, cry, get hot and bothered, and cry again! It is definitely the most emotional book in the series so far. For me anyway.
P.S I can't wait for Peck's story!! That man is fucking hilarious.
Quotes:
The day may look worse, but she’s never looked better.
I’ve tasted his lips, felt his skin, loved his heart on those sheets, and my own heart tugs a little as I think about it.
“Fine. Do you want to be my friend, Machlan?”
“Is this a George Strait thing? Is there a box to check yes or no?”
💞 CRAZY
Crazy is the fourth book in the Gibson Boys series by one of my favorite authors, Adriana Locke. Each book can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading them all since they are amazing! I can’t really say much in this review. I don’t want to spoil anything especially to those who have been waiting for Peck’s story like me.
I started falling for Peck Ward, the goofy cousin to the Gibson boys when I first met him back in Crank. With each book I had fallen even more and now I am completely utterly in love with a swoony mechanic. One who loves his Nana. One who loves to find his next meal at a family member’s house. And would do anything for the ones he loves. And would lend a hand to any stranger who needs it. I knew he had more hiding under his goofy charm and antics.
Like I said, there isn’t much I can say about the story, if anything. I can say that you will love it! It’s full of family, love, laughter, banter, and an happily ever after.
P.S. I really hope this isn’t the end of the Gibson Boys series! There is certain someones I want to get a story.
Quotes:
“I think every firecracker needs someone to light their fuse for them to really glow.”
“The kiwifruit will tenderize the steaks. It’s so much better than the alternatives of tough meat or overly salty meat.”
She snorts. “True. I don’t like my meat salty.”
I laugh out loud. “Good to know. Good to know.”
“We get it. We may act all tough on the outside, but we’re really pussies when it comes to our women.”
“Fuck you. I’m not,” Machlan says.
Lance rolls his eyes.
